12:02 am
all pray, but shame too on us, for we do the same, silent accomplices in this bloody game, so rise, oh hearts from the depths of your night, stand up, speak out for what is right, for the children of gaza, for the pain they bear, silence and let the world be fair, we are humanity, we must reclaim.
12:03 am
hi everyone, judge andrew napolitano here for judging freedom. today is tuesday, october, what is today? long day, october 1st, 2024, scott ritter joins us now. scott, i very much appreciate you coming on the last minute, it's been a long day for both of us and for all the folks uh watching us. what do we know uh about the iranian uh missile attack today on israel? what did it consist of? of what was uh struck down, what got through, what damage if any did it do? well, i can't say we know anything other than the iranians fired a significant number of missiles, the majority of which appear to strike the ground, whether or not they struck the ground where they intended to strike is unnable until the iranians tell us what their objectives were and what their battle damage assessment, i would imagine that... "if these missiles did
12:04 am
strike their intended targets, israel will not uh, not be quick to confirm that, because the last thing you want to do when you're on the receiving end of missiles. it appears, however, that a significant number of missiles were targeted at nevatum air base outside of bershiba. this is a um one of israel's most important airbases, it's where the f-35 fighters are based out of along with netanyahu's air force one and some other. you know critical air assets uh the uh the video tape of this attack uh shows what appear to be hypersonic missiles coming in and uh in significant quantity and um and hitting what they're you know hitting something on the ground um they uh some of them may have been intercepted but not all of them this uh
12:05 am
appears to be part of the iranian strategy of saturation attacks, if you take a look at the quantity of the missiles being fired, it's simply overwhelmed uh israel's air defense systems. the iranians also appeared to have made use of um the uh more sophisticated missiles, the hypersonic fata 2 uh they fired to take out the um the aero. two and arrow 3 uh surfaceed air missile or anti-missile defense sields uh, i've been looking at some videos that look as though the iranians were deploying um sophisticated warheads that have multiple warheads and decoys um and accelerating warheads so they used um a you know a variety of means you know back in april when we talked about this you know i said look the iranians let off with old stuff it was just basically um to uh exhaust the
12:06 am
israelis, exhaust the air defense, and then they finished with um, you know, a dozen or so of their the good stuff, and all of those hit their target, and at the time i said, this was iran putting a marker on the table, saying the next time you're just going to get the good stuff, well this was the next time israel got the good stuff, and um, what what we saw here is that israel is defenseless, utterly, um, you may shoot down you know 10% of the incoming missiles. but the bottom line is uh iran saturated uh israel's missile of defense shield and it wasn't just israel's israel had the assistance of the united states uh the united states navy and american uh fad systems, the jordanians were actively involved bragging about how they shot down one or two uh missiles, you so you you basically had the world's densest, most sophisticated ballistic missile shield being exposed as utterly useless, and this is a signal in and of itself to these... because
12:07 am
they are talking about retaliation, and if israel retaliates in a significant way, iran has already reloaded all 180 plus launchers that were involved in the first one, they have others in reserve. remember, right now iran is also holding loaded pistol against the head of the united states, letting the united states know that that they get involved in any offensive action against israel, aladaid airbase and kather will be destroyed just like nevatim was, there's no defense against it, alasad air base and iraq will be destroyed just like nevatin was, um, there's no defense against it, and we, they iran may strike uh, the the american naval base in bahrain, the home of the fifth fleet, um, "this was a tremendous display of capability by iran, one that um israel and the united states uh would do well to uh to reflect on before undertaking any precipitous moves. are the uh hypersonic missiles the ones that are impossible to stop? well, i
12:08 am
wouldn't say impossible because technology being what it is, um, you you always might be able to find a uh solution. i would imagine that if you fired one a hypersonic." uh against defensive capability that was ready to receive it uh you might get lucky um but generally speaking the hypersonics are coming in a rate of engagement uh a closer rate of closer that's uh too fast for any uh radar system today to uh configure as an intercept solution and have the interceptor actually be able to do it um i think what we saw was uh there were some occasions of these really is playing catch up meaning that they uh they were trying to catch up to the um to the warhead but they they they couldn't that was going too fast and it appears that the hypersonics that iran fired just came through uh the the the israeli um air sirens didn't even go off so they didn't even detect it uh
12:09 am
that's how fast they were going that's how quick their closure uh speed was do the israelies have hypersonics no these well i mean again the israelies had the jericho. two and the jerico 3 missile, these are nuclear capable, but they can fire conventional payload, and the jericho 3 is believed to have something that that will have closure speeds similar to a hypersonic missile, but it's a billistic missile, which means that its speed is is generated by ballistic trajectory, a hypersonic is a missile that comes in a non-ballistic trajectory and usually under its own power and and and and hits the ground at significant speeds that aren't generated by ballistic trajectory. is the um uh israeli iron dome about which they've been boasting for generations effectively useless? well the iron dome it wasn't meant to defend against uh these
12:10 am
systems. theren dome was meant to defend against the saturation attack by katushka rockets or uh low technology short-range uh rockets. so it wasn't designed to defend against the saturation. attack of ballistic missiles or ballistic missiles, this is what the arrow 2, the arrow 3, the patriot, the the fad system, these are the systems that are designed to defend against those, the iron dome is when hamas fires off, 70, unguided rockets that that go against area, the iron d is designed to shoot those down or if his fires katushka rockets, but the iron dome isn't designed to take down. missiles, there's other systems that are supposed to do that, and clearly those systems didn't work. can israel, does israel have missiles that can reach iran? 100%, the jericho 2, the jericho 3 have the ability to to reach to reach iran, but again, the difference is
12:11 am
israel's missiles aren't design, they're not designed to do the kind of saturation attack that that iran just carried out, these are missiles that you are. one shot, one hit, um, potentially with nuclear capability, but uh, if they're conventional, it's just designed to have one warhead come in. uh, the question is, could the russian s400 air defense systems that uh russia has uh supposedly provided iran and our position around iran's critical infrastructure, can they get a um an intercept solution a jerico ballistic missile, i think the answer might be yes, so even 'if israel were to fire jericho missiles, there's a good chance that um, because they're firing flying a conventional ballistic trajectory that uh, they could be shot down by the s400. uh, what is russia's role as you understand it, in the defense of
12:12 am
iran other than providing the defensive mechanisms that you just talked about. for example, would president putin call up president netanyahu or prime minister netanyahu and say back off, or would the russians provide offensive uh weaponry to enhance the iranian fleet? i don't think... there anything the iranians need or want from russia in terms of offensive weapons capability, they've proven that they have significant strike capacity that successfully hit the most heavily defended space on the planet, which is israel. um, defense is a different matter all together, i believe russia has um gone out of its way to provide iran with defensive capabilities, again speculation on my part, but i would imagine given the time associate with training up uh an s400 crew to be combat capable uh that
12:13 am
these missiles might be manned by russian crews or at least have russian advisors on the ground, the same thing with electronic warfare uh systems in place etc. um the also it appears that russia may have rush delivered some of their more advanced fighters to uh to iran and again uh here uh because the iranians haven't had a chance to fully train up on these these fighters may be flown by russia. and so theoretically speaking, if israel were to launch um a strike using manned aircraft against iran, there's a chance to be going up against air defense systems manned by russians and um fighter interceptors manned by russians, history shows that this is what russia has done in the past, they did it in vietnam, they did it in korea, and uh they did it in egypt during the yam kapur war and the in the war of attrition, and uh there's no reason to believe that russia wouldn't be doing that today, we have. clip of uh president biden uh in which he refers to um iran as defeated and
12:14 am
ineffective, but but in fairness to him, listen to the whole clip, it's not that long, it's maybe 30 seconds and it's only about a half an hour old, chris cut number 21. say few words about iran's missile attack on israel today, at my direction united states military actively supported the defense of israel, and we're still assessing the impact, but based on what we know now the attack pears to have... defeated and ineffective, and this is testament to israeli military capability and us military. i'm also also testament to intensive planning between the united states and israel to anticipate and defend against the braizen attack we expected. of what did, well, first of all, what is your opinion of what president biden just said, defeated in ineffective? well, i mean, it it his words don't... match the um video evidence that has been presented so far uh on telegram on x on tv um again until
12:15 am
final battle damage assessment can be made um it's hard to say one way attack could be ineffective is if for instance nevatum airbase had been emptied of all critical assets and literally the iranian struck empty shelters then you could say uh it was ineffective um but what he's doing right now is classic um american double speak. united states does not want this escalate at all. the key aspect of escalation is the concept of um deterrence um modes of deterrence. if iran has done something that both israel and the united states publicly say shows the ineffective of ineffectiveness of israel's defenses. israel. lost any notion of deterrence um and stability goes along with that. i think the united states is anxious to
12:16 am
keep israel from overescalation, meaning they know that israel is going to retaliate. iran knows israel is going to retaliate. what the united states is trying to do is create the set of circumstances that allow israel the ability to retaliate with a significant strike, but not something that prompts in immediate iranian retaliation and withdraw back to its borders, maintaining the... fiction of effective missile defense, so that politically netanyahu has some sort of cover to hide behind, and that's that's appears to what what he's doing. i don't know how long this subtrifuge, if indeed it is subtrifuge can last, there is commercially available satellite imagery, there's eventually we're going to get to know what was hit in israel and how badly was hit, the iranians will publish a target list, and the truth will come. out, but i think right now biden is desperately trying to contain a uh a
12:17 am
situation that's gone grossly out of control. the us navy uh, did not stop this attack, it was supposed to, but it did not stop this attack, uh, it did intercept a handful of uh of missiles, but again, the iranians have had some time now to figure out america's uh, ship-born anti-missile defense protocols, and i would imagine that they did things. uh designed to um get the radars to lock to certain targets which were decoys um and then confused the firing solution by mixing up the um the missiles coming in and um and the end result was saturation and it was the ineffectiveness was on the part of the america's too many missiles hit the ground simultaneously for anybody to believe the notion that the united states and israel um you had effective defense so what i saw states is are united states defenses on the
12:18 am
ground in israel or did they all come from naval ships ships in the mediterranean? no, i believe that the united states has both, we we have the ships which provide the the bulk of it in terms of the numbers, but we've also deployed one and maybe two thad batteries. that are um a more advanced um uh intercept capability than the uh patriot. we also may have some patriot batteries on the ground, especially since we put american troops on the ground, we'll be protecting them with american uh assets. we would never allow american troops to be deployed and only have israeli. assets on them, we we provide our own forest protection, so you we have ground base interceptors in israel uh as well as the sea-based interceptors. is netanyahu afraid, is he scared? it's hard for me to get in, i know he's fearful of his political future. um, he's somebody who's been saying he wants
12:19 am
to have this decisive moment of conflict with iran for some time now, um, i, i don't know what he's being briefed, i would imagine that if he's being briefed honestly, um, he should be afraid, he should be very afraid, because what the iranians demonstrated today is that israel is uh, effectively defenseless in the face of a concerted iranian attack, and that if the iranians wanted to, they could time this attack differently, uh, they they timed it at night when facilities will be uh empty, when um, the israelis would have had enough time to... evacuate, put people in bomb shelters, um, if if the iranians wanted to pull in israel, for instance, dahua type doctrine, which is israel is doing against lebanon right now, collective punishment of the lebanese population for the sins of hezbulah, over a thousand innocent lebanese have been killed, i have friends of mine over there who are scared to death because of
12:20 am
what's going on, and they are civilians, they have nothing to do with hisb, nothing to do with anything, just living their lives, and their lives are at risk because of the irresponsible actions of israel, if iran were to replicate the israeli approach and apply a collective punishment thing, they could easily have killed um several thousand israelis tonight, but they chose not to, they chose to strike military um targets only, and they did so a time when israel would be able to evacuate and put people in, so this was not an attack designed to inflict caslies, this was attack designed to send a... a very stark message that the next time you won't be so luckly and the other thing they did, and this is something that should resonate with the israelis, if indeed they took out nevatum airbase, which it appears that they struck many many times, every israeli pilot that takes off to strike iran in the back of their head has to wonder whether or not there will be an airbase waiting for them when they come home, because what iran did there can be, and
12:21 am
that's the most heavily guarded airbase there where the most valuable assets are, that can be replicated every... single air base in israel, and um, the time of flight, 5 to 15 minutes, um, it takes, it takes the israeli air force far longer, so by the time the iranians detect the israeli air force being launched against him, they will detect it, the russians will detect it, they'll get the early warning, they could literally saturate these airbases and there won't be any airfields left in israel for these aircraft to return to, what is prime minister netanyahu doing to israel, big picture. "oh, he's killed israel. i mean, i think strategically israel's finished. um, what we're looking right now is noise, the the key thing we have to look at is long-term economic viability, because from that comes social stability, political stability, military security. um, you know, we're in a situation right now where netanyahu has launched the conflict against tesbula, iran
12:22 am
just put a marker on it saying, we're not going to let you destroy hisb, we're not going to let you go in that direction. um, the purpose of..." conflict was to return six uh 6,00 or 60,00 israelis to their settlers to their homes in the north of israel, they'll never be able to return home now, it just isn't going to happen void of a comprehensive peace settlement which will cost netan yahoo's job because it'll be inclusive of a cease fire agreement with hamas which he said will never happen um so you netanhu has basically sacrificed israel for his own personal political ambition he uh desperately wants to you know leave office. with legacy of that of a winner of victor, this is the ultimate sin of narcissist full of hubrus and that's who benjamin netanyahu is, and he's he sacrificed the long-term viability of israel because their iconic. is tatters right now, they're never going to get the 60 thousand back. uh, the port of elliott is is shut down, that's costing them billions, hyfe is under attack, that's not an effective port, ashgalon gas facility was
12:23 am
struck, that's an energy problem for israel, um, israel is unsustainable economically, and unsustainable right now in terms of their social reality. politically, you have evenly divided country, i again remind people that prior to october 7th. the israeli president was speaking of civil war and uh those emotions still run high. this is all because of benjamin netanyahu, he has destroyed israel, destroyed israel's long-term viability, and he's sacrificing everything just so that he uh can retain a legacy that's already tarnished. he will never recover from this, he will always be a genocidal, murderous, maniac, a man who killed hindrajab, that's what i will forever remember him as, the man who murdered a six-year-old girl who was desperately... crying for help and there's no forgiving this. um, i was surprised to hear you say, because i haven't heard anybody else reported that the jordanians provided defenses for the
12:24 am
israelis and boasted about it, isn't uh, the king of jordan on, welcome back, we are going to have a special live coverage of the israeli aggression on lebanon. gaza as you can see the live footage that we have just received of the israeli air strikes targeting uh south beirot, you can see that israeli army is conducting fresh deadly strikes on libinese capital, beirut, particularly the um uh dahya neighborhood south of beirut, this has been going on for the past several nights and um they have been pound uh the neighborhoods that have been warning the residential areas for evacuation and
12:25 am
meaningless evacuations of course and then pounding them with heavy bombardments, we've had bombardments with bunker buster bombs in the past fort night at least twice and you can see images of the genocidal that is being raged on um the neighborhood of darhia, south beirot uh we are waiting for more info as soon as we can get a connection uh with our correspondence in beirot, we are going to know more regarding what is happening there uh at the same time we know about heizbollah's launching fresh retal retaliatory missile strike on the israeli bases near near as it has fends of fended off israeli troops trying to enter southern lebanese town, um, we've had um this on the news that um hezbulah has stopped and has had
12:26 am
great success in stopping uh the israeli ground invasion into the country uh but at the same time the airstriks have been going on uh you can once again see that this is live footage from beirut. and the pounding, the the most recent pounding of the uh war planes of the israeli war machine on the city uh, you can see um the exact region, yeah it is definitely dar here from the images that we have, but uh we do not know for sure what has been the target this time, uh let us um see if we can find uh one of our correspondents in order to discuss the matter further, as soon as we get new info on the attacks, we will uh cover it in this live coverage of the attacks. lebanese media are
12:27 am
reporting now that five israeli strikes have hit south beirot, its outskirts, four of them have been very violent. well, um, from the size of the cloud of smoke that we can see right now, even in the darkness of uh late night. hours um, it is obvious the heaviness the attack and the brutality that is being uh implemented in south lebanon right now, so once again lebanese media have are reporting currently that five israeli strikes have hit southern beirot its outskirts, also four of them have been very violent according to these latest um news um following the matter live, as soon as we get more info on this, we will bring them back to you. i don't know if our correspondants in beirut are reachable
12:28 am
right now, as we are waiting. for a connection as soon as we can make it or as soon as we get new info on the matter where you can see the live footage uh we will let you know as so far we know that the israeli army also has issued evacuation orders for residents of some buildings in beirot's southern suburbs and soon after that the strikes have happened you know i don't think it's actually enough time for the residents to... leave their properties, because um the um time uh limit between the the issuence of warning uh of evacuation and then the attack are rather too short, so yes we can see that you can see this is the sky of beirot, southern beirot, the neighborhood of dahia which has been targeted once again at least uh five sides um the lebanese media are
12:29 am
coverage covering the matter live also and we we have received the news that ambulances are rushing to the site of the israeli's trucks in south beirot so as far as far as we know four of the attacks four of the strikes have been vehemently violent and um we are still looking to know what has been the specific target of these attacks uh so far we do not know more but we can see uh as well as you are um most uh um as well as you are all of our viewers we can see the images, these are live footage from south of beirot, the you can see the sky of dar here right now which has been under attack at least five times and uh we know that ambulances are rushing to the site of the israeli strikes in southern beirot as soon as we can get a connection to one of our correspondents uh in are here in
12:30 am
beirot, we can we will um let you know more uh regarding the these latest atrocious events that has happened in the um southern beirot neighborhood of dar here so israelis have conducted fresh air strikes on lebanese capital you can see live footage of the sky of beirut right now and it has been uh the attacks have been have have occurred. just after issuing of evacuation orders, um, like i said, these evacuation orders, um, that's something, i think that's something of a formality, because um, imagine the time that you need to leave your home for it to be bombarded later on by enemy war planes, uh, it's, i, i think it is meaning, meaningless, these evacuation orders, so so far we know this...
