southern suburbs uh, according to different media outlets, um, especially lebanese media right now, that is what we know, but uh, like you, we are watching, um, and seeing what is happening live, um, as you can see the live footage of the sky of southern beirot, the neighborhood of darhia, again um repeating the media outlets in in lebanon are reporting that five israeli strikes, five fresh israeli strikes have happened in south beirot, its outskirts, four of them being reported uh to be very violent, um, you can see the scenes of the explosions from what is visible in the darkness of night um, we can see that it it the attacks have been. actually very violent

as it has been reported by the lebanese media uh so i think in in the past few nights every night we have witnessed the pounding of uh darhia neighborhood south beirot that is lebanese lebanon's capital city and we also have witnessed uh bombings of um medical facilities health facilities uh we've had so far had like um huge number of death eight workers in uh fire fighters in lebanon right now we know that huge explosions have been hard in uh as as a result of israel's bombs in south and beirut again um earlier tonight minutes ago so at least five strikes have happened four of them reported to be very very um vehemently violent. um again the

target is the south of beirot, the outskirts also have been targeted um and huge explosions have been heard uh as a result of the well right now uh firas and najim. human rights activist is with us from toronto, for us, i know that um, you have been following the news and you have been following the developments in the region, you know that right now in toronto there's a huge crowd uh gathering against the violence being carried out uh towards human beings in gaza and lebanon uh what do you think about these latest atrocious moves by the israeli regime and the pounding of the neighborhood in south. beirot, yes, i mean, this is the last

cause fires, it will cause danger in addition to the pollution that it will cause, and so that is, if that is the case, of course this is this explains, the uh, the sounds that were heard as well as the fires that erupted, and the they seem to be like like nuclear bombs going off, so it wasn't very clear, but ' where exactly it was and if we if it is a gas station, but that will probably explain like i said the explosives. um, there were several very violent clashes of very violent, excuse me, shelling uh and bombings on the southern suburbs, not only in the airport road, but also in other areas uh that are in the outskirts of the southern suburbs, so even there are a lot of strikes that are not even deep in the heart of the southern suburbs, but on the outskirts where there could have been also more civilian staying, and what is also remarkable is that they the

israeli spokespersons - the they're issuing certain... warnings, they're saying that there's a warning against this building, that building, this residential area, but then they target areas that are different than those, or they target those areas in addition to other areas that did not receive that warning, and so we know that there are certain people who are living close by the airport road in that area, who have not evacuated, thinking that they are still maybe far away from the the main shelling, which occurs in the heart of the... southern suburbs of beirut uh and so we can probably expect that there could be injuries among the the people and even civilians in that area uh we need to wait and see of course but we have reports coming out like i said that this could be a gas station now this also comes uh around an hour or so after we had there was a direct strike a residential house in the area

of jigi which is in the shouf district uh it's not the first time that the israel target the shuf district. but this is area that is deemed um safe, it is majority reduced area, where usually for example 2006 and so on, it was not targeted, and so targeting that area specifically, ji um, at first there were reports that it was health association, then turned out to be a residential house, and there are two up until now recorded murders as a result of that attack specifically, there are als lot of injured children in that strike, and that of course is one of the many examples where the israelis are targeting, perhaps this could probably be area where you have the displaced from from south lebanon most probably living in that building. now this also comes a time when the the israelis come are coming under attack from hazballah's fighters whether in

the border in their forces, their elite forces and their their ground forces, but also in the salvoes of rockets that are being launched towards the occupied territories, and ahazballah declared that they have launched in another cell of rockets targeting one of the bases near the the border which is the bad post, but they also targeted the jel alder post also with a round of rockets and hazbillah explained something significant is that they um they... also in the last 24 hours they were able to spot and observe and even the surveillance let them to know the details of how the israeli elite forces were attempting to move around. we also know that based on hizbillah statements that they said that one of the forces was able to perhaps infiltrate or they allowed it to infiltrate,

go to the municipality or the sent the the the hall of the city or the town. of what i see to try to plant explosive devices, but hazbullah was able to detonate previous devices that they had planted in that area, and therefore all the explosis that were with the elite force also exploded in that forest leading to very big number of israeli soldiers killed or wounded, also launched attacks, rockets towards the settlements of almanara, that was also in the middle of the night basically, and so... you can see that the clashes uh that are face to face combat between has fighters and the israeli forces continue um in light of this aggression against lebanon. thank you marian, please stay with us right now, we are joined by ramin mazohari, press divise correspondent from washington dc. ramin, what's your take on these latest developments? well, all

around the united states, this entire weekend, there are protests against... israel's war in gaza and the fact that their country here in the united states, they this is the country that is really uh the one the one who has made it possible, we over 40,00 deaths, which is obviously a tremendous undercounting, 100 thousand people hurt, we forced the displacement of two million people, um there's a lot of you know it's been one year and i think that we should really start with with the positive, the way things have changed in the united states, if you went back uh one year ago today and you would have told me that uh for people under 30 years old that they're now more pro- palestine than pro israel, i would have never believed you, so let's... keep in mind uh the past year has seen a tremendous uh uh shift in public opinion here in the united states uh thanks to alternative media and social media, the way that this genocide has been

live streamed has created the largest anti-war movement since vietnam and i think we have to really uh uh do uh very hopeful about the future because these young people it's gonna as time time goes on they're going to get more influence they're going to get get more power. uh to the current inhabitant of the white house just down the street. um, thank you romin, you romin, right now it seems that wherever israel goes, america follows, what is the general mood in the us regarding these unconditional support for israel and uh the possibility? of an all-out war in the region, certainly that's something that is on everybody's mind here, um, i've been been talking with interviewers and uh, one thing i can say is that many people they have taken a lot of part from uh what's come out the past couple days uh about the truth of the accuracy and the impact of of iran's uh missiles, the way that uh it shreaded iron dome and and now even somebody told me that here national public radio very very... pro zionist uh uh media, it's the number one radio uh in the united states and that they had to admit that uh iranian missiles uh that

they that that they did land successfully uh at israeli air bases so people are are are very hopeful what i'm saying is that uh that this will dissuade israel now that they know that iran can reach out and attack israel anywhere they want and hopefully that's going to dissuade israel from this all out regional war that they that they seem so hell bent on on on on starting and of course one of many people here they look at it from very typically pragmatic point of view pragmatism is as it said it's the american philosophy many people first thing they say is that they don't want their tax dollars uh to to keep going to to israel but now they're saying we don't want our our boys our friends our... to have to go off and fight for israel, so things are getting uh uh more and more amped up uh in terms of the anti-war sentiment here and and hopefully uh these successful strikes

by iran are going to cool things down. thank you romin, please stay with us, i'm going to go back for moment with um i talked to mariam our correspondent beirot, we witnessing a surge in israeli attacks in both lebanon and gaza right now, what do you think? is point right now, because regarding the gas station that you just mentioned, the other day, yesterday, i think it was, they they hit road connecting lebanon to syria, that was something that civilian displaced people were using in order to get to safe place. you know, what's the point really? this is absolutely against humanity. well, absolutely. i think the image is also coming out from that area specifically, where you saw lot of displaced people, whether the syrian refugees. who are returning to syria or the lebanese who are attempting to find perhaps some safe place to stay inside syria, we saw the children, the elderly attempting

to go by foot in that crater that was created in order to get to the other side and reach the syrian border, it was a massive catastrophe, it was a clear violation of civilian rights for movement and transportation, of course the israelis are saying that they want to cut off all forms of communication and perhaps even uh means for in order to transport maybe weapons and capabilities for hezballah and so that was message on that regard, but of course this is a direct targeting of the customs in the the the border crossing, this is the main border crossing between lebanon and syria and it is people's right to move around and so they have of course in the past targeted to displace people even the first day of evacuations when we saw after the the beginning of the offensive, they were targeting vehicles which had civilians or had whole families that were being targeted. this is in addition to the fact that they're targeting buildings and residential areas

where there are displaced. people even assassinating the members of the palestinian resistance with their families. we've had two so far members of the hamas who were killed in air strikes along with their wife and children and so this is another example of israel's violation of human rights. we of course have a long list of towns that were launched by by the israelies have artillery fire towards for example the areas of shuuba as well as in addition even the fighter just launching attacks on and barashid for example that attack continues and we have several areas also in the bacaut where they are targeting specifically a civilians so it's a systematic targeting of civilians but it's even different and more extreme and more massive than what we saw in the past for example if want to compare it with 2006 and

this is what it seems. like and leaves of course that we have initition of course to the fact that the is continue with the shelling, we also can see that what their aim was through this shell is to put pressure on the civilians, to incite them against the resistance and to weaken the resistance, but up until now we see the resistance continues to launch its rockets and now we hear sirens are sounding in settlements where they had not been sounding more before, there seems to be focus now from the resistance on the goal a... heights and so there are several areas in the occupied bolon heights that are under hazbolah's attacks uh this is what it seems like in addition to the launching of rockets that has reached ha and suffa right mariam uh let me go back to uh romin romin we've had um this from president macron of france earlier today he said that we need to stop sending arms to israel which was of course um the

really bitter reaction from the from netanyahu, what do you think this will lead to a change of stances taken by the european partners of uh mr. macron? well, macron, he's always been uh the guy who is willing to tell uh some of the hard truths in western europe, certainly eastern europe has some leaders that that are going to be uh far more uh honest and far more accurate in in their assessments uh, but in in western. here uh, macrone, macrone uh is really uh really something will say something, but it very rarely goes beyond uh just talk. france is of course, they see themselves as the as the uh uh as the diplomats uh of europe uh that they are the foreign policy spokes person of europe uh, but really they just translate into uh actual actual changes, so certainly

are used by the israelis, even in some cases they are used to to to export, for example, also some weapons, as you know, the israelis have a pride and joy in their war machines and their war games of course, and this is why hazballah went directly to targeting that. now we have also a direct attack on the uh the atlanta base, which is a another industrial, military industrial facility, uh also very significant that hazbollah targets that area, we noticed how hazbollah began uh with their wave of retaliations, after the assassinations, focusing lot much on the military bases that are the source perhaps of that military, the military airports, the manufacturing of weapons, in addition to the many bases that you have planted all over the north of occupied palestine. thank you.
