9:30 am
palestine and they vave the flag of lebanon, australia has no problem, but at the same time when they gave a flag of hespollah, when they vave the flag that that belongs to a particular ideology, the australian government has raised the red flag and asked the demonstrators not to uh pull in any sort of a flag that creates trouble and that creates problem. the last week's protest in the last week, the lady that was holding the spolar flag was was spolt on by. police and there has been some sort of investigation going on, but so far so good, good, the government has given clear instructions that these protests and demonstrations are the rights of people and people, people have right to speak for themselves and people have right to speak for whatever they feel, but as long as when it comes to the ideology, particular ideology that's full, they have been asked to abstain from it, as long as of they are supporting palestine in lebanon and they are opposing israel's warcimes, it's all good for ' the government of australia, the
9:31 am
protest in australia, um, if you can tell us a little bit more about the depth of it, i think we obviously have sydney and we may have other cities involved, is that the case, and uh, are we looking at uh this, because this is the day before that we're looking at these protests, for it to probably uh increase in uh numbers by the time tomorrow uh arrives, the way we locate is entire australia, sydney, melbourne, adelante. these protests have been witnessed and observed, the the authorities have always stood for the people of australia, because australian people believe that they have right to express, and and in this way people of australia have expressed their solidarity with the palestinian people, solidarity with the lebanese people, and at the same time they have denounced that the actions that their government has failed, their government has failed to take for humanity. uh they they
9:32 am
feel for it, but at the same time and not to forget that australia has champions every week these protests to support the cause of palestine, tomorrow again australia will hold visual because as it marks one year of devastating war in gaza, devastating war in palestine and now in lebanon, so people in australia have decided that they will again join hands and come to a place to protest and demand. immediate fire, so the cease fire demands is drawing higher and higher, but at the same time the government in australia is doing its best to keep these protests controlled and have have repeatedly asked organizations who conduct these demonstrations, they are being told to be as peaceful as they can, and the numbers each passing sunday the numbers increase because the cause uh is so huge, people of palestine ' need more support, that's what australian
9:33 am
people believe, and they say they deserve their own land, they deserve their own rights, they deserve their own food, the children deserve to live, the children deserve to get educated, the generations deserve to work, so this is high time that war should stop, this is high time that countries that are that holds some significance in the world bodies and organizations must come together and speak for the rights of people of palestine, so this is not going to stop across the globe, there is a global demand growing, the global of in demand is boycott, the global demand is sanctions against israel, because people observe and and see these double standards, because there has been sanctions against russia, there has been sanctions against iran, but at the same time there is nothing happening when it comes to comes to comes to war crimes like situation, countries which which are just in support of palestine are being imposed with sanction. and countries
9:34 am
that are destroying palestine are being given freehand, so this is what people of australia believe that these trouble standards are unacceptable and the media hypocrisy and hypocrisy is totally unacceptable and they will continue to stand for the rights of people of palestine as long as the government does not take a firm stand, as long as the world does not come a single platform and recognize the rights of people of palestine. it appears uh the citizens of australia uh is are somewhat uh um carrying the same approach when it comes to the genocide that's taking place in the gaza strip as other parts of the world uh where they are facing a divide between uh the opinions that they have um and what their government perhaps has when it comes to the israel regime as a whole because we know that everywhere around the world uh people are standing up for the palestinians to come on in solidarity and protest against the genocide for example uh same think
9:35 am
approach that many citizens there in australia also have, but then you have uh some of the mps for example in australia that uh are even against this protest, i mean there's no denying that this uh genocide has... taken place and is continuing, is that the feeling you get? the feeling on ground is totally uh totally different, the feeling on ground is the people of australia believe that that what they are thinking is not what their government is praying, they believe the reality of what australia is, what australia stands for, is that when they stand against any atrocity, when they stand for the rights of people, when they stand for the people who have been killed and massacared each day, so whatever... australian mps and whatever the australian government holds at the moment, it seems like completely opposite what the people of australia believe and and want their government to do, so it's it's time for action, people, people of the country are hoping that as as the elections are approaching and new a new government comes in, they these these demonstrations, these
9:36 am
these ideas, these uh these worldly affairs help them to make better choices and people believe that that this is high time that they they choose uh they choose champions of... they choose people who do not side with with those who who are who are doing war crimes in in palestine who are doing war crimes in lebanon they do not side with those who are pumping in money who are doing exchange of military and other artillaries and other stuff to to help help israel to to kill more and more people in palestine in in lebanon so whatever you see as as the australian government stand and the st for of the people, it's it's two completely different things, the people of australia stand for each and every moment, that is pro humanity on this earth, and they believe the moment of palestine is for the humanity, because humans, they are humans and they deserve to
9:37 am
live, and there is no conflict on this earth that deserves a surgical operation like this, because these are like not monsters, these are as human as as any other citizen of australia united. states, uk, leban, palestine and lebanon, are they are all the citizens of one common earth, and they deserve to live, and this is what australian people believe, and they hold this firm belief that they will always champion the cause of humanity, and that's why they take to streets every sunday to tell the world that we believe in humanity, it's high time, we stand on one platform, are raise one concern, that's humanity and that everybody on this, deserves its own sovereign land and deserves to have its rights and deserves to have protection, it does not deserve to be bombed, it does not deserve to be massacred, does not deserve to be eradicated from that face of the earth, they israel has done to the people of palestine, so immediate and urgent calls from the people of australia to
9:38 am
the world bodies and to the world that they stand together in brief with whatever is happening in palestine, in lebanon, in in in syria, in yemen, so... they believe that that this war should end and that should be immediate see fire. this needs to be put to rest and immediate see fire plus accountability for the war crimes, because australia is a champion in humanitarian causes and it believes that people of australia believe that it needs to talk about any humanitarian crisis on this earth, like they talk about the own crisis. crisis of australian people, they need to defend the crisis of people who are at the suffering end who are being destroyed and devastated each moment, so there are these two sides of the story that one is the australian, australian people, australian population, firm champions of humanity and believe in the in the rights
9:39 am
of people of palestine and lebanon, they deserve to live and they deserve to to save their country, they deserve to have their sovereinity, and at the same time, there are a lot lots of... growing demands that that the government needs to step in and needs to take control of the situation and speak for the people of palestine and immediate for the seas fire, they need not to be compliced it, if they remain silent, people here believe if the government remains silent, this is a complicity and they want their government not to be complicit of the war crimes of the ch. thank you very much for that, that's shana, but talking to us from sydney, shana, thank you so much for that coverage, we appreciate it, going to continue with some news here on press tv, the lebanese resist. since the movement, hasballah continues his retaliatory operations against the israel regime, causing casualties among the zionist regime's forces. in the latest retaliations, the movement fired rocket barrages at the settlement of carmial, the occupied city of safad, and the ata military industries company in the lower
9:40 am
galilee. hisball also targeted gatherings of israely soldiers, both in the settlement of katzen, and at the chal alder side. israel media reported that 38 soldiers were injured in battles with h along the lebanese border over the past 24 hours. meanwile the regime has issued new evacuation orders for most of the southern suburb of, the area in the capital that has witnessed relentless israely strikes. meanwile hisball forces are continuing their resistance against intruding israely forces in lebanon, inflicting heavy casualties on them. at least 15 israelity troops were killed or injured an ambush by the resistance forces in the village of odesa in southern lebanon. the resistance forces also thorted an israely attempt to infiltrate the village of blada. hizbullah has also been keeping up its rocket attack into israeli occupied territories. israel launched a ground invasion of lebanon earlier this month following days of deadly bombardment to the
9:41 am
country. the israel regime continues with its air strikes across lebanon, claiming the lives of more civilians. the regime has launched more than 20 fresh air strikes on the southern parts of the capital bay route, including the dahia suburb. the lebanese media has described the attacks is very violent. this comes as the regime uses power. bunker buster bombs to target residential areas in its attacks. according to lebanon's national news agency, air traffic at beyrut airport was ongoing despite the israely enemy's aggression on the southern suburbs. lebanon's health ministry says that over 2 thousand people have been killed in israeli attack since last october. lebanese health officials have denounced israel for indiscriminately attacking emergency rescuers and civilians. lebanon's health minister has also warned that the country's healthcare system is teetering. brink of collapse, let's
9:42 am
talk to mariam so corresponder who joins us from baywood to tell us more about the ongoings there, well mariam, tell us what you have for us and we are still um looking to find out if there are any clues, news about hashim safia deen as to his... or any contact to have been made if you have any news on him? good morning, well uh, the biggest crisis i think that labanon is facing right now is the fact that it has a shortage in the rescue teams, they has been a direct and systematic target targeting of the rescue teams, the defense, the civil defense teams, the paramedics in manner which is quite different than even maybe razza. um, very few, maybe days, it's just very short period
9:43 am
of time that this offensive has begun, the massive offensive, i mean, and we already have lost 97 paramedics and we also have a big number of people who are volunteering right now, they don't even have shields or helmets to protect them, and so they're working in light of very, very difficult circumstances right now, and so um, we have of course in addition to those, um in the last three days a big number of them just in the last three days alone um and it seemed that the israelis are also based on the statements made by some israeli spokesman in their social media outlets saying that this is being used you using that usual narrative that they are not they're targeting the ambulances now as saying that they have the the right perhaps to do so or they're trying to put that n' out and this is unprecedented perhaps in in all of in all times of war uh
9:44 am
and so they're directly targeting them and that also has added to the crisis and the catastrophe human humanitarian catastrophe uh in lebanon of course the targeting of the southern s of berut was extremely massive especially in the last three days the first day of course we know we all know first massive attack that assassinated has secretary general said and how really deep and large that was, we're talking about a whole complex that was taken down to rubble in order to only assassinate one person basically, and now we have the other attempt, the other attack also, like you said they're using buster bumpers, but the the issue is there even areas where there are rescue teams attempting to come close and they are also being met by israeli fire either from drawn. fighter jets and so it's very difficult to lift the rubble in various areas in case there were people under the rubble or they
9:45 am
need to at least remove the marters, it has been extremely difficult and very very very hard circumstances that the rescue teams are working on. the other issue that you spoke about, well it's uh, it's very hard to tell, especially in times time of war, the fact that there is lack of communication and so on, but that was the case also in 2006. there were many leaders even secretary general, there was not always this continuous contact with him, and we saw that after the marterdom of... we there was only one uh speech and one official in addition to of course the statements coming out from the military media uh which continues, it has not stopped, the military operations have not stopped, that proves that the command and control system that really organizes or that governs hazbullah's resistance in general is still
9:46 am
intacked that remains, so even if there is no um secretary... general directly, but there is there is deputy, there is always someone as has deputy secretary general sheikh kassim stressed in his last speech, there is always an alternative or a substitute that can allow this resistance to go on with the needs with with what it needs in order to continue with the fight that is occurring out in self lebanon, especially the issue of combat, face to face combat, that seems to be continue. doing and so it's very difficult to be able to tell uh or to be able to have contact or maybe speeches that would come out from hazballah's officials uh frequently like you would have in the normal days, so do not expect that we can be listening getting any news from anyone uh that soon as long as there are statements coming out like i said either from the relation media, the public
9:47 am
relation media office or the military media office uh that... allows us to know perhaps command and control remains intact, because anything that comes out because frequent maybe contact could also uh put them in harm's way, because as you know the israelis have the ability to be able to spy and tap a lot of telecommunications networks and even on technological devices, and the issue of the pagers was a clear proof that they seem to have tapped everything, they seem to have rigged lot of issues that were de safe in general, and so that this is probably part of hezballah's procedures and and security measures in order to keep its leaders in safety. i'm curious as to why, and how, i should say, first, uh, you have reached a conclusion that uh, because the analogy you made is very strong one, the comparison that you made that is uh, that you have overall
9:48 am
the healthcare, i guess staff uh being targeted, we we understand. and i think uh over 20 healthcare uh staff have been killed in the past 24 hours, um perhaps you can give us a little bit more of an idea as to the number of uh i guess healthcare personnel that have been uh uh killed uh based on the israel regime strikes uh and also what uh gives that what gives you the idea that they are continuing to be targeted if you can give us some examples of that no from based on uh source. is and the lebanese ministry of health, like we said, at least 97, this could be a bigger number, there could be a bigger number because we know that some places they were attempting rescue efforts and then they were targeted and the the other teams could not also lift them, but um so 97 is very very big number when it comes to medical workers and we know that the israelies directly
9:49 am
targeted, this was documented, they targeted ambulance car that was parked right next to one of the gar governor hospitals in is one the areas which is considered generally safe, it was supposed to be one of the hospitals that remains operational in light of the fact that you have hospitals within the occupy, the areas where they want to occupy, for example which is closer to the border, you have theur hospital, the ben hospital that have completely closed down, these are areas where the israelis are really showing in a manner which is... carpet bombing the entire town, so it would be only normal to evacuate that area, but you have even the areas which were supposed to be safe, still under constant attacks, you have the tibne for example hospital, it also it's it's also been targeted, you also have the um the the the tire hospital, this is this the heart of the city of tire, which was also like, i'm trying
9:50 am
to compare with 2006 just to see if we can find some sort of pattern, because it's it doesn't seem that for the israel there's happen, there just seems to be in more and more resemblance of what is happening inside ghazza, the targeting or the threatening of these of these hospitals. i also have, like i said, there's military spokesperson by the name of, he is, he speaks in arabic, he goes on social media and so on, and he issues these these threats a daily basis, first of all saying where the where the isravi occupation forces are going to strike whether in southern suburbs of beirot or... generally in self, non, but of course that warning comes 10 or 15 minutes earlier, if there are people, it's very difficult for them to be able to evacuate, but they mentioned, he mentioned also very... specifically he was saying that ambulances are being used to assist the the troublemakers as they call them and and to to assist has the law fighters, and this is why he said that we
9:51 am
will target them, and that i think is also um should be taken as proof there was a the israelis were taken to justice, i think this is also a proof that they have openly declared a war on ambulances, on the medical staff, on the medical body in general. and with the fact that they have targeted the hospitals and even threatened many hospitals which were forced to evacuate, of course that creates a catastrophe and it is it is only normal that the israelis of course they um they understand that one of the points of strength and we spoke about this extensively i think before how the people the supporters the resistance are the backbone of the resistance and this is why the fight for the israelis is not only against as a military. wing or hisbollah as a paramilitary to try to weaken it when it comes in military terms perhaps with all this destruction and so on, but they are also making a war which is
9:52 am
purposely done against the people on the supporters of the resistance, and you have lot of health associations and and and these hospitals are within that community, the community of the people of lebanon who support the resistance, and perhaps we can expect that like we saw for example in gaza they targeted. churches, they targeted the the main baptist church hospital, and that was not perhaps a, it had nothing to do with when it comes to sectarian terms or religious terms uh, to be with with hamas or fully hamas, it was a clear, only purely medical body and the medical hospital, only to assist those murders, those civilians or injured who need require that direct help, or at least those people who have chronic diseases. and require places to to be treated, so the this is why we can see that even the marjaron for example hospital is area which is majority christian, and they targeted that as well,
9:53 am
and that also proves that they are continuing with that same policy, the same tactic targeting this the anywhere where perhaps the populist or the people who are supportive of the resistance are seeking refuge or seeking medical help. yeah, i can continue uh with this unfortunately we don't have the time uh, i'm sure we will be talking to you later, be safe, thank you very much for that, mariam sall there from bayroot, we do appreciate it, that was a correspondent there, and with that we come to an end for this edition of world news, do stay with us as we keep you up to date with the developments there in the gaza strip, including obviously in lebanon as the one-year anniversary of operational flood is upon us, in the next 24 hours, we'll be covering it extensively as we have been doing, thank you so much for being with us, this bye-bye for now.
9:54 am

يزيدنا وعيا وعنادا واصرارا. imagine waking up every day, knowing that the day before you have murdered tens if not hundreds of people, and that your mission for the day is to do the same. now, imagine if you have been doing that every day for the past year. well, that is what israely officials and regime forces in turn have been doing for a whole year. the october. sev one-year anniversary. that is what we'll be looking at in today's program, the atrocities that have happened, but more importantly, how the existential threat to the israeli regime, aside from the death and the destruction, is the fact that they are looking.
