rallies across the globe to condemn the ongoing israeli genocide in gaza and lebanon on the eve of the first anniversary of the regime's war in gaza. 1:30 p.m. in iran's capital tehran. this is press tv news. thanks for joining us. the israel military is pushing ahead with this attacks on lebanon. lebanese health officials condemned the regime's indiscriminated strikes that are killing civilians and rescue workers. israely fighter jets conducted series of air strikes a number of locations in and near the lebanese capital bayroot this morning. one of them left huge plomb of smoke over a large area of the city. the tax left 23 people. said on saturday, the regime says
1:32 pm
the strikes which have intensified in recent weeks, target weapons depotes and military infrastructure belonging to hisb, but lebanon's health ministry says that over 2,0 people have been killed in israeli attack since last october, most of them in the recent spade of air strikes. lebanon's health minister has also warned that the country's healthcare system is teatering on the brink of collapse. the lebanese resistance. says it is killed over two dozen israeli military commanders over the past five days as it continues its retaliatory operations against the regime. the movement said its retaliatory attacks have also wounded more than 130 israeli forces. thisbala says israel is concealing the true number of his casualties. the regime has announced the death of just nine soldiers so far. in the latest sub operation at least 15 israely troops were killed or injured. in the village of odesa in
1:33 pm
southern lebanon. hisball also said that it in fired artillery shells at israeli troops were trying to penetrate the southern village of bluida forcing them to retreat. the resistance movement also targeted the gatherings of israely forces in the settlement of manara and is vicinity by missiles. israel launched the ground invasion of lebanon earlier this month following days of deadly bombardment of the country. let's bring in uh first our correspondent mariam sal from beirot to get an idea about what has happened there in beirot, well tell us what you have for us uh mariam and also if you can add to that uh the i guess number of israeli regime forces that have been taken out by the hisbolla fighters if you have um i guess concrete numbers on that for us well as you of know of course the israel ing on the southern
1:34 pm
suburbs of beirot continues uh and we've seen that today for the first time they targeted the residential area in the southern suburbs in a time which was in the morning uh usually that time is used by people to uh maybe go check and bring things from their houses so we probably had movements of civilians and it in it's very difficult perhaps to see but you can probably see some of the smoke uh behind me that are still coming out from the areas that were shelled. uh by the israelis in addition to the fires that we saw on the airport road, the old airport road yesterday, as a result of the targeting of area that is uh adjacent to a gas station, of course in addition to the fact that the types of bombs that are being used have caused in massive destruction and fires and even uh very very of pungant odors that almost incapable for people to get close uh lot of people have also uh experienced - trouble breathing, they were taken to hospital just because they got
1:35 pm
closer to one of those areas where there was that uh shelling, in addition to the southern suburbs, of course the israelis continued their attacks all across south lebanon, especially the area of the bean, now ' perhaps we need to explain it to the viewers that for example the town of the bean lies in the heart of the district of marshayun and that was area that was still uh considered safe but however uh we see that the israelis are striking that town uh in the middle of the marzayun uh district and they're not even allowing the rescue teams to come anywhere near that site we also had yesterday another attack in one of the areas which is in the shuf district as well another district that has been targeted at least two times now when that was a district that was considered a one the safe areas uh and we know that woman and her three daughters were killed in that attack, we also know that were at least 18 people when it were injured in that strike alone, we also know that the islamic health
1:36 pm
association had has declared that at least uh two of it, three actually of its paramedics and members of its rescue teams were killed in the attacks that targeted. the town of juya and majd zuwan, these are not border towns, these are towns that are further off, so there might be even uh some maybe presence of of civilians and they were not allowed to get close once they got close to areas which were shelled, they were struck by the israeli uh drones, i believe in this one and also in ita as well, they were not allowed to come close and this is why they lost uh these paramedics and these members of the rescue teams in those areas uh specifically uh we also know that five have been uh have erupted in various areas and the issue is that also the israelies are not allowing even the fire fighters to get near those sites to take out the fire so that they do not spread out towards the green spaces as well as the neighborhoods that are surrounding that area
1:37 pm
now we know that the ministry of health has declared that at least 23 people were murdered uh in the last 24 hours alone and of course we're expecting the number to rise once we do have any inform. information about more marters, we also know that in the ba area we have the area of duris and were also subject to strikes in addition to latin which is in south lebanon that was also subject to to strikes. now we have another issue which is expected to be another humanitarian crisis, the issue of education. we heard today the libanese minister of health talking about the fact that we have over at least 20 thousand children uh that are in the age of school that were forced to leave. and the fact that you have many of the schools, the educational institutions uh unable to begin the scholastic year, and it was expect, it was planned to begin early this month, however, now he has postponed it until the 4th of november in hopes that perhaps by then there could be some sort of an end to this
1:38 pm
crisis to allow uh the um maybe the displaced to be able to get an education somewhere and those in safe areas, now they he also said that there are certain safe areas where the schools have decided to open, but "even those areas are still studying the situation very closely because of the security crisis in general, so there might be now online learning just until things of course are even more evident of what's happened, so this is another crisis, um, many school, many kids will not be starting their school year in lebanon uh this year, which is of course something that is of a great concern uh for lebanon and even uh supposedly the international community because of the..." right of children for education. we also have another attack on the area of majyun once again, so even the area of the bean uh which was targeted earlier is again being targeted right now, and this is of course um continuous in various areas, not only in the area of debeen. now concerning the operations
1:39 pm
of uh hazbullah, i think you mentioned some them uh, of course the the confrontations there continue, in addition to the fact that the evacuation efforts have been extremely... difficult from various areas, especially in south lebanon, with the fact that it's very difficult to get close to the sites which have been targeted. all right, let's bring in our guest from london, get her idea on this. is a broadcaster and commentator who joins us, we have her with us, mohammed, welcome to the program, are you with us? very good, um, i like to ask you in the... text of the fact that we have in less than 24 hours um october 7th upon us operation also flood was executed and it's been almost a year at this point uh and we're looking at where we are. this regime is pounding lebanon, it is striking lebanon in a form and manner that at this point we have over 2ous people that have been
1:40 pm
killed as a result. um that that's a really the shock itself is not as much in the fact that you have all these civilian deaths you have that genocide that is taken. place, but that there have been no preventative measures after year of the genocide in the gaza strip to prevent the regime from advancing. um, what are your thoughts uh, if you can tell us to put it into that context. for us, what it's doing to lebanon right now? well, i think we need to um address this question by looking back even before october the 7th when netanyahu was at the un uh holding up map which did not even have palestine on it, so he had plans already, and obviously um when even the us said that there were sort of uh border sort of lines where he could not go into foreign. example, rafa, that would be a red line, um, going into uh, you know, uh,
1:41 pm
advanced territory, that would be a red line, but when he did not have any consequences for going into arafa and bombing that indiscriminately as well as he's doing in lebanon right now, with no consequences and each time he went, there was further bombings, meaning that um, it was only lip service in order to be in line with the international law, just like the uk has um so much so you know, held back, few amounts, like a quarter or you, a certain percentage of arms, so that they are not going to be seen as um doing something which is illegal in the international courts of justice, with regards to the uh, the state of this war right now, so that's why they are doing what they're doing, but they have no interest in uh stopping this completely, unfortunately, because there's already been plans put in place from way before even october last year, from what we can see, if you want to look at the... the evidence was presented to to the united nations in that aspect. um, so when we
1:42 pm
look at that, what's happening in lebanon, again we hearing of the same uh narratives that even the reports here in the uk from the uh mainstream media has said this morning that um uh israel had bomb certain hospitals and cert or near hospitals and areas which claimed was going to be um hezbollah, but they themselves have mentioned that there's no... evidence of that, but again they got away with it in gaza, so they're getting away with it in lebanon, whatever they state right now, part of their propaganda, and people, some of them that are supporters of you, israel, still believe that they have a right to defend themselves, that um, labeling certain um groups of resistance as terrorists um means that they can do whatever they like because it's actually okay even if it's going into um sovereign land, even if it's going against the uh international courts and the criminal courts and justice and against you
1:43 pm
know the humanitarian sort of justice as well, so they seem to be above the law in any law and uh they've stated it many times even amongst their own channel tv channels and ministers and they do feel that there is a superiority and of course there is a bigger agenda for them to actually extend this war so that they can actually change the map of the middle east to uh help them more and importantly, i think the underlying issue is a macro level if we look it is for them to have and which the uk and the us especially have always wanted to have that dominance over certain regions for their for their own security when it comes to um whether it's a military base, but israel is more than just a military base uh than the other bases that they have across the middle east because it has a leader there that would actually uh be crazy enough and psychotic enough to actually fur the uh the region allowing the space for um their own sort of like um agenda when it
1:44 pm
comes to building on sites and regions and allowing certain spaces when it comes to the international trade where that's why the other thing is there has also been certain analysis from even former um intelligence in the us saying that um at the end of the day that they want to actually create safe base in the middle east she's a strong sort of base and that is israel, and we've heard this many times that if there wasn't an israel, there'd be something else, so it's not about the jews, it's not about the hostages, it's not about even the people of israel, it is about the fact that if we look at history, it's the same, they may not have had the colonization as before, but they're doing it a different tactic in a different way, just recently in the uk uh we learned that even the uk was forced to give up certain islands around mauritius. um and you know we one even had a clue that that was still present, that they still hold certain um sort of connalized
1:45 pm
states and certain places around the globe and they were forced you know through international pressure uh to actually give that up recently and they going through that treaty itself in order to be signed so again uh and those kind of wars were like in afghanistan and iraq used the bases that were there out of the mauritius islands um and the other thing is when it comes to fighting in um sort of like uh so many different fronts, even the intelligence in the us has said that the uk, the us has attempted fighting on two fronts in the past where it was afghan afghanistan as well as iraq and that is not a very wise way to actually fight, so there's only matter of time that israel can continue in this way, because they're not just fighting on two fronts, they're fighting on several fronts uh, whether it's you know in gaza, in lebanon, in um the south of uh israel when it comes to yemen, as well as now even trying to certain bombardments and
1:46 pm
attacks on syria, iraq as well as trying to maybe have further aggression directly to iran. um so again, these kind of warfare is not going to be longstanding for israel itself, and they have a battle on their hands, we are losing, they are losing manpower, they're losing even tanks, and it's heavily and independently reliant on the us, and as much as they are giving them billions and billions of dollars in military aid top the 3.8 that they give um each year without any sort of aggression uh to protect themselves, this is actually now going to the and filtering into everyday people where we seeing the uproll and the outrage of even the us citizens who are complaining that even when they had a recent hurricane they've had some of their um sort of like leaders speak more about helping and giving aid to israel rather than their own people at home and we've had recent protests in the uk and
1:47 pm
across the globe as well so again um they can only continue for so long we've got the elections in uh few weeks coming up in the us, and even though both administrations are still friends and allies of israel, but one is given card blanch and the other one is going to be slightly stricter, and netanyahu is, you know, very much, very close relations and friends with donald trump, so if he comes into power, he'd be given even more, but if he does it, then the new uh camil harris might actually hold back a little bit because that was certain part of policy in order to move forward. and the race is very tight, so the muslim minority does make a difference with the votes itself, and it did make a difference with the votes when it came to the uk, um, and the muslim majorities did actually change their stances and it will be the same in the us, so looking at it from micro and macro perspective, it is definitely not something which is un favor for israel to continue as it is, because gaza was
1:48 pm
humanitarian crisis, whereas lebanon is security crisis and and... going to be something where it's going to indefinitely bring up across other regions worldwide into this aggression, whether it's the us and iran and maybe concerns that russia and iran are close and they might be worried as well as china, because if israel is given this kind of way of moving quite um aggressively across the borders in the region, it will alert even outside potentials to get involved, which i don't think anybody wants least of all, even the... less, but at the same time um, israel uh only has a certain amount of time where it can do it in in its policies uh to this extent as well as have the ammunition, the funds before the next administration, um and also wondering as to what iran will do, but again even if any attacks are happening against israel, it is not as brutal um like
1:49 pm
they are, they are targeting military bases, they are targeting areas to only stop. uh further aggression, they are not going into areas where there are civilians or even damaging, the israeli economy is damaging at the moment only because of economics, not because of they still have businesses the stand even if the businesses are not doing well, whereas in ghaza and and now in in lebanon in the south mainly they don't have buildings even say that they have a problem, to say that they got a loss in profits or anything like that, so there's a huge difference and the... and everyone seeing it unfold in front of their eyes every single day and it's only getting worse is definitely no favor of israel where before they had the sympathy and the empathy of people saying that they were the victim because of antisemitism, they had the sympathy because they were the targets and they were defending themselves, they had the sympathy because no
1:50 pm
one knew what was happening, that is all gone, they do not have that kind of empathy anymore, they do not have that... of support from everyday people and people that were never even knowing about the conditions like it was um years ago when it was continuously aggression um this long-term um war has actually really opened up the eyes opened you know uh for the international communities and everyday people and it is not going to stop where people are gonna continuously speak out against what's happening whether or not that actually takes effect i mean it did eventually in south africa with the uh breakdown of the aparthide and i hope very soon it does the same for ghaza, but it will start with ghazza, everything will fall apart with any sort of um fighting around anything and israel is not being attacked, they are being uh warned that they need to stop and have sease fire for everything and all the aggression and he had plenty of opportunities, even america set out certain
1:51 pm
rules where they can actually have this, certain people even went and this that they assassinated that wanted to have agreements made in place, but it was again disregarded by netanyahu himself, even with the hostage deals. all right, thank you for that. let me just ask mariam salh um something here, mariam, i don't know if you can um uh... analyze the situation that's going on regarding the intentions that this regime has um when it comes to the way that they are attacking lebanon, but uh you get a sense of any logic behind uh their attacks, in other words uh could the their goal just be limited to southern lebanon in terms of the overall goal, i should say uh trying to create buffer zone there perhaps uh and uh and then to stop there or at this point is too early to tell. i can't hear you, i can't hear, did you, do you have my voice right now? unfortunately
1:52 pm
mariam does not hear me. okay, mariam, do you have my voice right now? no, unfortunately not. all right, um, i guess we're going to leave it there for now, uh, we don't. have mariam with us, we're trying to establish it. i'll ask one more question from our guess there uh in london if i may, um, the the the way that the regime is moving forward, you saying that uh, the are pre-planned uh, i guess uh, things that were drawn up uh, whetherers from trade routes and that as a goal, or otherwise, uh, the notion that israel has is this greater israel uh idea, um, do you think that those will actually happen, and again, uh, a couple minutes uh, if you can, keep it to that, please. yes, i think it will do. the whole main idea is to keep the superpowers in power, and and for that is to have merity bases is for them to have control in certain regions and for them
1:53 pm
to have uh, you know, some sort of authority in in areas, which is obviously threatening to them in the future, and for them to have those kind of spaces is, entirely important, and and most of us didn't even know about those military bases or spaces and the fact that you know those are the real reasons why... us uh needs to be a superpower because it has that kind of hold over certain regions, so absolutely, and it will continue whether it's through this kind of way or in other ways, but they will have hold, regardless, um, so unfortunately this is something that you know keeps them in power and keeps their status, so it's an ongoing fight, and hopefully it will be whether it's going to be through uh diplomatic means and resolutions, not through genocidal wars and aggression and conflict where innocent civilians have to pay the price. for it all right, very well, thank you very much for that, like to thank a guest from london for her contribution, mariam, do you have my voice now? i can hear you cover now, yes,
1:54 pm
very well, quickly if you can, my question to you was whether there is an idea from you regarding the logic uh of the attacks that regime is carrying out against lebanon, for example, are there any signs that shows that they are going to be limited just to southern lebanon to maybe carve out uh buffer? zone there, again, i'm just uh thinking out loud here, or is it too early to tell whether there are any structures behind the way that they're attacking lebanon? well, yes, it is obvious in some way, it is quite systematic what we're looking at here, the systematic targeting of civilians, the targeting of the medical body and all the residential areas in south, southern suburbs of beirot, now although you might say they're targeting the capital beirot, what does that have to? with enforcing buffer zone in south lebanon, which they are working on, of course, basically carpet bombing the border towns, all of the the towns adjacent to the border, and
1:55 pm
enforcing the displacement of all the people, evacuation of all of south lebanon until the edges of the city of of syden, which they also have targeted, they've targeted displaced people there, there are of course to based on the history of the israeli regime, there are two main issues that they work on, they work on first of all trying to weaken the... resistance, the military and armed resistance, which has of course been successful in enforcing certain defeats and achieving uh victories on the ground, especially in face to face combat, but there's also another very point strong issue uh for the resistance, which is the backbone the resistance, it is mainly the body, the the the supporters, the populist uh, the people who continue to give the resistance its legitimacy, they are the people of south lebanon whose country whose all whose towns were under occupation for so long, and so they... have that legitimacy and they're extending it to the resistance, the armed resistance, giving it that support in order to continue with that fight, and so these the israeli attack and strikes are not only
1:56 pm
limited to... to the resistance as a military to try to weaken it, but also on the popular front, and this explains of course the attacks against the residential buildings as well as the medical body, and any talk about the fact that um they they say they're saying that under the residential buildings there's certain weapons or rockets or ammunition or explosives and so on, for for hazbollah is all inaccurate fab fabrications and they are just part of the israeli known or und... declared attack and war against the people uh who do support the resistance and we have also a statement coming out from the head of the social and medical uh union in lebanon, he stressed and he knows that from from their uh studies and their collection of some evidence in the southern suburbs of beirot that the israelis have used uh warheads, very heavy warheads that are illegitimate because they have uranium warheads uh and he called on the lebanese government to take this issue to the international community to the united
1:57 pm
nations and perhaps... even two courts in order to um in order for there to be impunity, in order for there to be punishment against the israel regime, which we of course have not seen in all of its genocidal war on ghazza uh, but now of course it continues with that same issue, it is not a or it, it seems definitely systematic, uh, it is a clear pattern of attacks against the civilian population in lebanon. all right, very well, thank you so much for that, we do appreciate mariam saler there from beirot. and with that we come to an end for this additional world news, thanks for being with us, this bye-bye for now.
1:58 pm
in the shadows of history, terror was born. a legacy of fear that echoes through the centuries, from the streets of paris to the battlegrounds of apartide, a fight for freedom. the struggle intensified and heroes were labeled as terrorists, and in gaza, new chapter. on folds, resistance or terrorism. the us and israel have their narrative, but what is the truth? who is the real terrorist?
1:59 pm
depressed abuse. cover of this assassination now entering its fourth day, we're looking at some, firstly i want to tell the journalists who want to report from the frontlines that they shouldn't go there in. of fame, instead they should bear a message and have cause to defend. the media warfare is essential because the camera has become a weapon ache into the rifle and the missile used by the resistance fighters. media is double edge swart and we should wield it carefully. indeed, rifles and cameras have
2:00 pm
become complementary weapons. we can... separate them. our message is to support the truth against the falsehood. as december began, everyone. one knew that israel was thirstier for blood than ever. on december 4th it launched a major ground assault on southern gaz. on december 12th joe biden criticized israel's bombing methods, but as usual he did not break his habit and continue to send bombs allowing israel. to
2:01 pm
improve its record of atrocities on december 22nd, the deaththoll in gaza surpassed 2000. muslim, but this did not awaken the western leaders from their slamb. okay, uh, we uh have had a statement come from iran's leader, which is the reason for our live right now, as you can see in the bottom of your screen, iran's leader uh has uh obviously seen the results of operation true promise, the second uh coming top of operation to promise the first, and based on the results uh has found it necessary in order to give uh is called a medal uh this to be given to the commander of the irgc aerospace division uh who is partly responsible obviously for overseeing this and the ultimate execution of it, mr. haji zade
2:02 pm
uh so the operation to promise uh has yielded him uh that designation by iran's leader in order to be given a medal uh the way that this operation to promise one was executed and uh now days ago... operation to promise the second was executed, the results speak for themselves, uh, satellite imagery as an example has come out on the nevatim airbase that shows the damage for example that was incurred uh on the that particular military site one of three which was targeted by the islamic republic and top of that uh the intentions behind um the islamic republic was uh not to target civilian areas but only military areas as opposed to the israel regime which is targeted civilian areas. on multiple occasions uh the past year um obviously shows how that genocide has resulted in over 42 or around 42 thousand uh uh murder of civilians there uh but here is uh moment of pride for iran's aerospace.
