a classified cia document focuses on the perception that the u.s. is an exporter of terror. they're already say are russian businessmen and the merchant of death will not be extradited immediately victor boot is wanted in the u.s. on charges including an arms smuggling and. then the suspected mastermind behind a double suicide attack on the moscow metro in march have links to international terror networks and the evidence was uncovered after megaman goblets killed special operation by russian security services. now back to be alone to show when with united states home to some of the fattest people on earth alone it takes a look at if genetically modified foods could be to blame stay with us. it's time for tonight's tool time winner now we're going to go ahead and give in to the tea party and glenn beck for their big rally coming this weekend in washington
11:33 pm
d.c. see this week we've made fun of an e-mail sent by maine to party blogger who is giving advice on how to survive in the big bad city of d.c. now we spoke about how to deal with african immigrants here in the in the city which areas to avoid because it just might not be safe and which metro lines you shouldn't take the e-mail says that the yellow and green lines are dangerous and that you should just avoid them at all costs and went on the blue and orange lines don't go past eastern market stops because that is outside of the safe zone but there is a little tiny problem with this tea party guide to d.c. if you think progress put together a little map here that shows the tea party members who arrive the nation's capital by bus well they might run into a little problem you see the official parking location for group us this is to stop beyond where the last say stop on the blue and orange line are at r.'s case stadium
11:34 pm
so i don't know to say gee baggers that's that's in the danger zone you guys can go there you need to be here so come to think of it i think maybe you should just forget about coming to this rally altogether and just stay home so that's why the tea party and glenn beck rally participants are tonight's jewels and i wonder. now it's no secret that america as a whole is fat but what do we blame for that factor is the papal for not controlling their food intake or is it the f.d.a. for allowing what was once organic natural food to be subjected to genetic modification arche correspondent to hand hafiz has the story. americans are officially the fattest and most overweight people in the world that's according to the world health organization where over sixty percent of the general population in the u.s. is obese with even more disturbing the u.s.
11:35 pm
is the only country in the developed world to label obesity as a prime national security health risks. it's all part of a growing epidemic fat in america supersizing questions like why are americans so fat and what brought the fast food nation to rely heavily on foods most developed countries banned decades ago there's a lot of innovations going on in the united states at all levels whether be organic or genetically engineered activity we begin with monsanto the former manufacturer of killer herbicide agent orange that's the chemical spray to the jungles of vietnam during the war with the united states agent orange eventually produced symptoms like these decades later monsanto is now responsible for more than half of the country's food and produce supply i believe that food is medicine and the genetically modifying. the food that we eat is going to have a great health impact on if the united states also holds the record for the largest
11:36 pm
production of genetically modified products in the world according to g.m.o. compass ninety five percent of american corn and eighty five percent of the soybean industry is genetically modified the ingredients in all processed foods contain g.m. in. greedy ends the grocers manufacturers of america estimates seventy to seventy five percent of the food we eat every day is genetically engineered this is one of the most dangerous massive experiments we've ever conducted on our planet in the mid one nine hundred ninety s. the f.d.a. and the u.s.d.a. allowed genetically modified food products and ingredients to flourish through the american food supply in farming industry. suddenly processed foods filled with chemically altered ingredients like high fructose corn syrup canola oil and modified soybean hit the shelves of america's supermarkets when g.m.
11:37 pm
was reduced to nineteen ninety six seven percent of americans had three or more chronic illnesses within our years that went to thirteen percent to allergies doubled in less time food related illnesses doubled between one thousand nine hundred four and two thousand and one or two thousand is an obesity is a diabetes is no one is checking to see if the most radical change in the human food supply the introduction of genetically modified foods is contributing to these dangerous to just ics however thickest the lower income areas very according to a report conducted by trust for america's help minority communities in the country are more vulnerable and back to test it's recorded and african-american hispanic and native american communities are nearly double the rates of white americans dr carolyn alexander suggests the alarming numbers plaguing minority communities is directly linked to g.m.o. foods i believe that these are certainly at the root cause of
11:38 pm
a lot of our children's health issues in particular in low income communities because they don't have the access to real food or feeding the products of an infant science to the entire population so if the food is slowly killing us making us unhealthy and fat why isn't. on our supermarkets shelves and even more important why aren't j. lo products labels coming up in part two of america we'll delve into those questions and more. washington d.c. . so g.m.o. us are clearly one part of the obesity puzzle and we'll look further into their use and their effects tomorrow but another part of the obesity epidemic stems from the fact that our appetites are simply too large and that we're too addicted to greasy cheesy fatty just think of new products from fast food joints like k.f.c.'s double down burger king's upcoming pizza burger you know with those appetites change if
11:39 pm
people knew how many calories they were consuming when the order of those trying burgers with that app was a deterrent yesterday the f.b.i. released new guidelines requiring that calorie information now be posted next to the name of the food in all restaurant chains and all vending machines but even that doesn't help and should we let the f.d.a. regulate what we eat or would that be a nanny state going too far or joining me to discuss it in the studio is serbia's smith vice president of the young conservative coalition from new york we have allison kilkenny blogger and co-host of citizen radio girls thank you both for joining me and sarah's going to start with you first things first now with these new regulations from the f.d.a. do you think that if every time someone walked into a mcdonald's and they saw how many calories were in every single burger that they would change their eating habits i don't think most will when you want to burger you want to burger you know you love mcdonald's and that's why you go you know
11:40 pm
that's where you go there you go there because you love the food you love the taste and the fast craving that you have. but i don't know i don't know i mean i think that there is quite a difference from going to mcdonald's and getting perhaps the cheeseburger versus i don't even know what their biggest burger is like i said. i've been to a mcdonald's in a while i mean alison what do you think would that be a deterrent for people you know i actually agree i don't know people would stop eating that really crappy food what i would like to see is the government stopping subsidizing those really crappy food so in other words you know subsidizing corn so heavily and perhaps investing all of this money and healthier food alternatives well that is one part of the problem here is because if you look at obesity in america those people that are most affected are usually minorities and lower income families because these people can't afford to eat anywhere else than perhaps mcdonald's or another fast food joint and a lot of times they don't even have
11:41 pm
a supermarket to go to where there is fresh produce so you know so that's not available then should the government force you know cities to have that available for the people to eat you know i mean you know i think that the government needs to stay out because the government can't tell you what to eat you have to be able to choose what you eat the problem with not having affordable food in the cities is because the unions prevent non-unionized grocery stores and companies from coming into the city and offering competitive low prices so saying i've ever heard union accused of creating institutional racism and poverty and the inner city is why people can't afford to buy fresh produce and it's interesting i've never actually been to where they argue they do prove that competitive industry like wal-mart for example who's able to provide goods at a much lower price than other retailers they don't allow wal-mart within a twenty five mile radius is that a lot of urban centers i'm not here to defend walmart but i'm just saying that i'm
11:42 pm
highlighting that is an example been here the reason wal-mart is able to offer those sweet sweet competitive prices you were talking about is because they don't allow people to unionize they don't offer health benefits to their employees that they're able to save all of that cash so if you're talking about emulating their business model. you're really talking about a race to the bottom actually they offer a very competitive health care package i actually are and i do a lot but i don't want to go down that. i want to talk about eating abbots in america the food that is available for us i know for example you said the government should stay out because it's your choice what you should eat what about when it comes to children these are the people that have no voice it's not their choice what they eat it's either the parents that are feeding them or perhaps what they're eating in public schools which i don't know if you've seen what they serve in these places but it really is disgusting so i mean it's got to be you know who's going to ensure that the kids are eating healthy food well the parents first and
11:43 pm
foremost it's children who takes care of children but their parents that's their responsibility so you have to have informed and active parents second it has to be the community these decisions need to be decided at the local level where. the citizens in the community understands their needs and demands and can support them when you start centralizing things and bringing things to a government level it becomes bureaucratic what is the community doing enough allison do you think that i mean do you think that communities are actively choosing whatever is cheapest and in that case unfortunately least help is to feed kids at school well unfortunately that communities and the parents don't subsidize the crops we're talking about huge national farming initiatives and really the government is subsidizing the worst food so the government could be part of the solution just you know subsidizing healthier food and there's only so much parents and local communities can do you know the united states is
11:44 pm
a big complex governmental system at some point we need the national federal government to you know what the brakes on this thing and say we really need to start eating healthier in this country because there's a whole epidemic right now well it's a health epidemic no doubt but it has to be a personal choice and you have to want to change there's tons. of educational initiatives out there there are a lot of non-profits the enter net is full of information to tell you how to eat healthy and exercise heck some of the best t.v. shows on t.v. right now our weight loss shows if you don't know how to lose weight and you don't know that diet and exercise is what creates these health issues then i don't i don't know what to say you must be living with your head band sometimes it's not a question of naivete it's a question of access and people just don't have fresh produce i mean i don't know if you've ever actually been to an inner city but a lot of the day goes are not stocked with fresh produce and what do you do in that situation it's a two hour bus ride anywhere to get fresh fruit what do you tell those people you
11:45 pm
can't say you know pull yourself up by your bootstraps and you know now whole there's it's really a question of access well yeah you're right there in the sense that you know you can say that people have to be smarter about what they eat and it's their own fault but if you just if you can't eat healthy because you simply physically can't get to the good food or the healthy food and you can't afford it then you know then what do you do but you know it is this is an epidemic sixty percent of the u.s. population as i was mentioning is overweight in america you know this is people's lives at stake so i mean doesn't you know whose duty is it then as we see here the government is both the hero and the villain in the sense that you know who they're subsidizing what do we do i mean i think i think it is it has to remain a personal choice because if you allow the government to step in and say you know you we need to you need to eat this we can only have these grocery stores in this neighborhood and x. and these you know you can't have fast food here or there where does it stop where
11:46 pm
does their involvement stop in your life and they're making personal choices for you i actually agree that subsidizing the agricultural industry is not a good thing but mainly for free market reasons and trade reasons and they totally obscures the price of goods and services when the government interferes which is another reason why the government should in interfere period you know it's i think there is a million men in the fast food industry to offer healthy alternatives as well. i just want to jump in and say well there was a similar conversation that the country had regarding this and that was when the cigarette industry became the great bill and that is where people were saying you know it's a personal choice i should be able to kill myself with cancer sticks if i want to and you know the government really jumped in and said that you cannot market these products that are killing people without at least a warning on it you know people are still free to buy cigarettes if they choose to but we try not to encourage it by taxing and that's really the conversation we're
11:47 pm
having right now with those corn syrup which is slowly killing people should we tell americans that that's not a good idea should be taxed you know these are conversations we should be having and debates we should be having in this country absolutely and that's something that we're going to delve into farther tomorrow night on this show to as well show john's part to a fat america and really get into g.m.o. as you know what some people are calling this the biggest experiment on a population of all time essentially you know we're being experimented on like guinea pigs with what they're putting into our food our girls want to thank you both very much for being here thank you coming up the military says no thanks to a heat ray machine that would help control crowds but there's one u.s. police environment that's gladly accepted it and here's that he's the focus of a lawsuit erik prince founder of blackwater has made several suits but he has now left the country and there's one law firm that's tracking him down halfway around the world all the way in so we'll speak with someone from the firm in just

11:51 pm
a las angeles police department is getting a new tool to help police combat crowd control and you want to know where they got it from they got it from the u.s. military according to wire the danger room the u.s. military has been trying to incorporate a heat gun into their operations in afghanistan but then they decided against using the heat on afghan civilians because well you know these things don't really fall
11:52 pm
into the whole winning hearts and minds strategy so when the military decides against using the ray gun the los angeles sheriff's department expressed interest in using it against riots in prisons the technical name for the device is the active denial system and it was developed by the air force research laboratory and the now engineers claim that the heat ray is harmless but it's a warning factor that will instinctively make the target fully to avoid heat take a look at his demonstration video for the a.d.'s. a.d.'s uses a directed beam of millimeter wave energy that penetrates about one sixty fourth of an inch into the adversary skin. the energy is harmless the superficial heating effect is nearly instantaneous and the adversary instinctively police. now you see the military claims that this would scare the afghan civilians and why they decided not to use it or brought the l.a.p.d. just decided to use it against good old american prisoners apparently the l.a.p.d.
11:53 pm
is also known for its love of exotic weaponry one commander even calls this device the holy grail of crowd control so should we be a little worried here the device that the military deemed unacceptable is now going to be used to mystically for controlling prison riots i just have to say something about this doesn't sit well with me. now erik prince. that is private security firm blackwater two names that have become notorious not only in the us but worldwide all the headlines about them may have faded as of late the legal battles continue on only problem is mr prince has run off to abu dhabi but there's one attorney a woman named sarah burke who is already settled seven lawsuits against prince in relation to the shooting of a rocky citizens in two thousand and seven and says she now went after him to give him
11:54 pm
a deposition so can just of prevail well joining me to discuss it is attorney susan's daddy she sues him first colleague and has represented victims of blackwater and sort of square and now represents two former employees who are whistleblowers on fraud exam much for being here thanks for having me so i know that we can't know all of the details about susan's visit to abu dhabi yet but what what can you tell us about this case well as you know we are the. one of the attorneys for brad in milan davis who are two former employees of mr prince and blackwater and we've been very eager to depose mr prince as he is really involved in the day to day operations of blackwater and their subsidiary companies so we filed a motion to compel with the court to depose mr prince the day before that hearing we found out that he was moving to i would dhabi so we made that sixteen hour flight to the dobie where mr prince's since moved and conducted a seven hour deposition with him we can't really speak about what happened in the
11:55 pm
deposition although you've got not only got. the state department is now reviewing that transcript and as soon as we're able to release portions of that we will now this is something that i'm very curious about because erik prince the reason that he said he had to get up and leave right away to go to abu dhabi was because his kids needed to be there in time for school to start by august fifteenth and i think a lot of people have been skeptical as to whether there are english. speaking schools actually begin before september did you find out was he telling the truth in that case well i can't speculate as to why it was to prince went to a job but i can say that certainly many of his friends who have spoken to the media have said that mr prince may have gone out of a job it's because he was quote simply tired of america so you know i says actual reasons i'm you know i can't speculate about that but that is what some media reports to say well you know he is tired of being looked at as an enemy in america
11:56 pm
this is a man that you know has publicly voiced the fact that he feels frustrated with a lot of the the negative attention and the negative press that he's gotten but you know clearly this is something that your law firm is as passionate about. it all the way there to get this man so you would refuse any claim that perhaps he is being victimized here. villainize excuse me and the fact that you know maybe he wasn't aware of everything as the head of the company that was doing the you know we were very fortunate to live in the united states and as one of the citizens of the united states we really do have to abide by the federal laws and regulations mr prince signed the contract with the department of state and with the depart of homeland security in june of two thousand and five he signed the worldwide protective services contract which said the blackwater was going to provide certain services security services in iraq and afghanistan for the federal government there are certain laws and regulations that you have to abide by if you don't abide by those regulations then you're going to be hauled into court that's one of the
11:57 pm
underpinnings of our legal system so to say that mr prince has been victimized or villainize you know i think that i don't think that's true ok so this is a man who in some regards you know has broken the law that he has he's gone back on agreements that he's made and yet just in june of this year you know he still got another contract from the state department here for a couple million or hundreds of millions of dollars so how is it that that. goal is not however that's still ok and the blackwater is still given contracts well. exactly it is now is the corporation so you know blackwater was essentially kicked out of iraq after the noose or square massacre it really upset and understood upset so many iraqis civilians that the iraqi government so much for the blackwater was kicked out but you are correct the corp is is in iraq and you know how those government contracts are worded are certainly not something that we deal with but
11:58 pm
but you're right he and this i'm sorry i are less than i was for a second with this specific contract is one hundred twenty million dollars by the state department to provide security services in afghanistan and a hundred million from from the cia so it's shocking i think that the the state department the government is is really now aware through this lawsuit brought in milan davis to get under the false claims act they're aware that there is so much false accounting there are so many things that erik prince and blackwater are charging the u.s. government for and including strippers including prostitutes these are builders are we all remember that exactly these are billed to the united states government and paid by the u.s. taxpayer so if anyone should be outraged is anyone should feel if they are victimized it's the u.s. it's the u.s. citizens not not eric prince yeah well definitely you know like i said all of the stories that we've ever heard about blackwater about the unfortunately are negative so you know good luck in this case including to come back and tell us what happened
11:59 pm
we will so final result being here. well before we go it's time for our tweets of the day the battle between facebook and google is now heating up the bill says that they're going to accept ads pushing for the legalization of marijuana in california you know the ones that we told you about yesterday the ones that facebook decided that they would take down so that got us to thinking what with google tweet to facebook without a face. thing like this dude just chill and burn one your company was started out of a dorm room and i think that we all know what goes on in dorm rooms are that's a pretty nice show thanks for tuning in to make sure you come back tomorrow we're going to show you part two of our teams look at that in america and we'll find out how much g.m.o. is might be to blame for our obesity epidemic and the rise in diseases now in the meantime don't forget to become a fan of the lotion on facebook and follow us on twitter and if you missed any of tonight's show or any other nights you can always catch it all at youtube dot com
