in this country alone but for some reason gun owners can't seem to shake the feeling that they'll be taken away from them soon enough so go to owners held rallies to let washington know that they were watching and one of those rallies took place close to d.c. in virginia so i traveled to the event to speak with the participants and figure out what they're really so scared of. today there was an open carry rally held in virginia held by a group named restore the constitution now these self-proclaimed patriots intended to make history by being the very first people to rally with firearms in a national park and they would be the first to do so because only recently president obama signed a bill into law that allows one to openly carry weapons in national parks but obama and other lawmakers were the ones that these people were protesting against now the start of a four hundred park in virginia and then marched close to d.c. as close to d.c. as they could get with their weapons in hand which is right where i caught up with

them a gravelly point park i spoke to dana almond one of the event organizers. this rally is called restore the constitution you're holding it right across the river from the white house from the capitol what is it that you're here to saying you know what do you want to hear there is a restore the constitution take it out and read it. start following it and who is not following it a lot of our elected officials and the supreme court is has who has been letting them get away with it on a lot of a lot of occasions. recently we've got health insurance mandates that require someone purchase a certain type of health insurance there's no authorization in the american constitution no authorization in this document for that for the federal government to do that another example would be the bank bailouts there's no there's no authorization for the government to bail out. company's deemed too big to fail so

is your main issue with iraq obama and with the current congress or is it with the government as a whole because if you speak about the bank bailout program that was initiated under the bush that was initiated under the bush administration just about all the big players i can think of in two thousand and eight president george bush soon to be president barack obama as a senator senator john mccain the other pro republican candidate. house speaker nancy pelosi. senate house house majority leader. john boehner all the big players supported that all the big players on both sides steamrolled over the constitution it's wrong it's unacceptable we ought not stand for it so what do you mean by not standing for and you're here at a rally with a lot of other americans that are here with their guns that are one of your constitutional rights and an american citizen what is a very trying to say with the guns are you trying to pose a threat to the government isn't meant to be violent not not necessarily it's to

a lot of people would say why are you coming out with your guns because barack obama hasn't touched your guns and yet there seems to be such a fear such a paranoia amongst a lot of americans that he's going to try to take away this constitutional right whereas like i know he can i if you look at a lot of they're going to really look at the trajectory that we're on with the constitution being violated. they've they violated and abused the commerce clause article one section eight of the constitution that's what they're using to justify to justify the unconstitutional health care mandates and that's what i'm sure that they used to justify the bank bailouts because. this is not just about the guns not just about the second amendment but these things that you deem to be on constitutional these new laws that are being passed they're being passed by democratically elected lawmakers so then what's the real problem or is it the power bill from it is not a democracy our god given natural rights are not subject to majority opinion

that's the it's this point is that they're not subject to supreme court decision they're not subject to the results of last election they're not subject to the results of next election there are god given natural rights but we've got to we've got to stand up for them and like i said a right on exercised is is a right is a right lost so that's part of part of why we're doing this here but how far would you go to restore the constitution there is one speaker that you have that's advocated throwing bricks through the window here democrat and you already have on top of that speaker about the things he's going to delimeters i'm not going to comment on what other speakers have said things like that but here here to talk about the rally and the message restore the constitution with so would you support a statement as to. you know as far as need be to restore like constitution. so far as need be. it's non-negotiable the constitution sure

go as far as need be. and my other question for you is there's another rally being held right across the river today in washington d.c. at the washington monument and yet from what i've read of the statements of this people as they said they don't want to be associated with this rally where's the breakdown between the two you will have to ask them some of the speakers that are at this event were also at that event. david khodr and larry pratt were out the second amendment really put those two wives and more of them on here that was about . and what do you are you happy with the turnout today because it does seem there's a new poll that just came out saying eighty percent of americans distrust washington and distrust any percent. were definitely part of that a three percent over here but do you think this is a good showing to it seems like there's a lot of heat on that this is been done something like this there's a lot of novelty to it and you yourself are an iraq war veteran right you served

fairness act this is a measure designed to strengthen the enforcement of women's rights to equal pay back to would have made it a federal crime for an employer to fire or punish any workers who share information about their wages and benefits but the senate voted fifty eight to forty one pushing away the idea or any chance of senators even having a discussion about the issue and you want to know why well each senator of course seems to have their own specific reason but the majority said that it all comes down to small businesses they just can't afford it right now lots of senators olympia snowe and susan collins both claimed they said that this act would put an unfair burden on the small businesses by making them spend more money to ensure that their male and female employees are getting the same pay i'm sorry but they want else remember that this is about equality not about economics you know many senators also argue that another bill really led better fair pay act was already passed last year adjusting the timetable in which women can present

a lawsuit for discriminatory pay but has that really accomplished anything i don't think so for years the pay ratio says that women on average make seventy seven cents for every dollar that men make if you look at the graph put out by the u.s. census bureau the pay gap has stood for at least the past sixteen years and i think that one thing is pretty obvious here the pain equality needs to be a thing of the past for years businesses have told employees to keep their pay a secret do they want the workers to keep their mouth shut just so they can avoid learning the truth that joe blow sitting next to me is making more money than me even though he does the exact same type of work you know the fact that it's two thousand and we still have passed this type of legislation well it's just pathetic but the fact that two female republican senators could vote against it and make it about the fragile state of the economy well that is absolutely a disgrace have you ever seen stronger prove the lawmakers favor business over the

game and when she went into the jets locker room to get an interview with quarterback mark sanchez the players reportedly whistled catcall that her and even threw a football across the locker room now he said that it made her feel quote very uncomfortable in that she didn't like it rather than causing a fuss she simply said that she believes the n.f.l. is going to respond to the incident accordingly but commentators bloggers they all decided that this is a huge deal and the disturbing thing about it is they're not worried about the fact that adult professional athletes are harassing another professional quite the opposite everyone from rush limbaugh to former n.f.l. player tony bruno have said that she was asking for it because she's an attractive woman who was wearing a pair of tight jeans she deserved to be treated that way now statements i feel are so wrong like that in so many ways but i decided to chat with churchill about it so joining me to discuss these are two producer jenny churchill jenny thanks so much

for being here you know me on this story it makes me mad because i feel like there's just a double standard you know i mean guys what is one of the things they love to watch on t.v. they like to watch sports and they like to watch hot chicks then report on those sports but then if something actually happens they blame the chick for it yeah well you know i really disagree with you there i think the double standard actually goes the other way if you know professionalism goes both ways if you want professionalism from the football players then you'll be professional yourself but when. you mean by that i mean are you saying that she wasn't being professional yeah i mean i don't think we have the first the first image just fine there to be if you have grown up image actually and i guess we don't have this one that's that's out of fields a game that's that would be in my box right there so use that word so she's a very voluptuous young woman and i'm sure that people like to look at her does not mean that she should be harassed and catcalled and whistle that well i mean i think that you know if you're going to go and put yourself out there the way that this

particular woman has done i just don't know how far you can go in saying that those things are inappropriate she has gone to great lengths to make herself a sexual object on her professional profile for the studio she's got scantily clad bikini photos and she does call herself the hottest reporter and mexico so i just pretty hot to me i mean it's one thing you understand like she's a sexy woman and i think there's nothing wrong with showing off that you're sexy but when people say that you know because you look good then you deserve harassment i just feel like that's so wrong because then i think it's irresponsible because it happens in that falls into the those arguments like oh well this woman was raped because she must have been asking for it really takes you down a very dangerous path this is you know this is just so different we're talking about an n.f.l. locker room different because you know as far as i know she wasn't raped or not locker room and as far as i know no one said wow you look so hot i want to. take

you down and say you have i think you know and this is my saying why don't for harassment you're acting i'm not saying right now it is not a big deal i'm not saying she's asking for harassment what i'm saying is that there's you know she's calling for a level of professionalism from the people in the locker room and i don't think that she's giving back the same level as i'm not to mention i don't think that women should be in the locker room in the first place or men reporters i don't think that any reporters need to be in the locker. and you're talking about a room where you've got lots of football players who are jacked up on terror also get a job there and i am glad they don't have the answer for the reporters do not need to be in there in the first place and that's about a long hard thing and we know that you know if that's the case and they should change the policy but in fact there are many female reporters in the sports industry there are many reporters that go into the locker rooms to do the interviews it's not their fault i mean if you need to change the policy then go ahead but this is never been an issue up until this date not true but on another
