where so all these people are investing in gold so that's where their you can draw always going to figure out why these miners work to do their job for sixty eight days it's and it's all because of glenn beck and the federal reserve certainly yes certainly you can say that it's not so i understand you can say that ok certain elements of capitalism helped write the certain in the scenes that were innovated innovations excuse me helped get these guys out but you cannot say that this is a smashing victory for a free market capitalist free market capitalism right now is seen as an utter failure if you look at the global financial crisis and if this is the only thing that they can point to saying oh this is a smashing victory well that's just sad if you ask me anthony thank you so much for being here thank you still to come on the best of two thousand and ten gun owners tell washington to leave their weapons alone so i take the show on the road to find out why gun owners feel the need to protest when there has been no action to deny them access to their precious weapons and i will take a look back at one of my unplugged moments after congress of voted down a bill to help pave the way for equal pay for women in this country.

money in a scramble to keep big business afloat for most of student demonstrations in london to police on strike in prague. and it. takes cops came. next in the second part of the. wealthy british. markets. find out what's really happening to the global economy for a no holds barred look at the global financial headlines to name two kinds of reports. guns since he was elected to office two years ago president obama has left gun laws
11:34 pm
in this country alone but for some reason gun owners can't seem to shake the feeling that they'll be taken away from them soon enough so go to owners held rallies to let washington know that they were watching and one of those rallies took place close to d.c. in virginia so i traveled to the event to speak with the participants and figure out what they're really so scared of. today there was an open carry rally held in virginia held by a group named restore the constitution now these self-proclaimed patriots intended to make history by being the very first people to rally with firearms in a national park and they would be the first to do so because only recently president obama signed a bill into law that allows one to openly carry weapons in national parks but obama and other lawmakers were the ones that these people were protesting against now the start of a four hundred park in virginia and then marched close to d.c. as close to d.c. as they could get with their weapons in hand which is right where i caught up with
11:35 pm
them a gravelly point park i spoke to dana almond one of the event organizers. this rally is called restore the constitution you're holding it right across the river from the white house from the capitol what is it that you're here to saying you know what do you want to hear there is a restore the constitution take it out and read it. start following it and who is not following it a lot of our elected officials and the supreme court is has who has been letting them get away with it on a lot of a lot of occasions. recently we've got health insurance mandates that require someone purchase a certain type of health insurance there's no authorization in the american constitution no authorization in this document for that for the federal government to do that another example would be the bank bailouts there's no there's no authorization for the government to bail out. company's deemed too big to fail so
11:36 pm
is your main issue with iraq obama and with the current congress or is it with the government as a whole because if you speak about the bank bailout program that was initiated under the bush that was initiated under the bush administration just about all the big players i can think of in two thousand and eight president george bush soon to be president barack obama as a senator senator john mccain the other pro republican candidate. house speaker nancy pelosi. senate house house majority leader. john boehner all the big players supported that all the big players on both sides steamrolled over the constitution it's wrong it's unacceptable we ought not stand for it so what do you mean by not standing for and you're here at a rally with a lot of other americans that are here with their guns that are one of your constitutional rights and an american citizen what is a very trying to say with the guns are you trying to pose a threat to the government isn't meant to be violent not not necessarily it's to
11:37 pm
highlight underscore the seriousness of the message restore the constitution it's also a verification of to what degree we can exercise our rights a right an exercise is a right is a right lost rights like muscles will atrophy if not exercised and this is the second amendment clearly states that a well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed and yet over there inside d.c. we can't do this all rights to keep and bear arms or it would be infringed if we went in there we would be arrested for doing this and this is a perfectly peaceful activity right here as you can see but the reason you even are allowed to assemble here in a national park is a law that was actually signed into place by brad right bob he made the right and he made the right call on that. all right and so you know
11:38 pm
a lot of people would say why are you coming out with your guns because barack obama hasn't touched your guns and yet there seems to be such a fear such a paranoia amongst a lot of americans that he's going to try to take away this constitutional right whereas like i know he can i if you look at a lot of they're going to really look at the trajectory that we're on with the constitution being violated. they've they violated and abused the commerce clause article one section eight of the constitution that's what they're using to justify to justify the unconstitutional health care mandates and that's what i'm sure that they used to justify the bank bailouts because. this is not just about the guns not just about the second amendment but these things that you deem to be on constitutional these new laws that are being passed they're being passed by democratically elected lawmakers so then what's the real problem or is it the power bill from it is not a democracy our god given natural rights are not subject to majority opinion
11:39 pm
that's the it's this point is that they're not subject to supreme court decision they're not subject to the results of last election they're not subject to the results of next election there are god given natural rights but we've got to we've got to stand up for them and like i said a right on exercised is is a right is a right lost so that's part of part of why we're doing this here but how far would you go to restore the constitution there is one speaker that you have that's advocated throwing bricks through the window here democrat and you already have on top of that speaker about the things he's going to delimeters i'm not going to comment on what other speakers have said things like that but here here to talk about the rally and the message restore the constitution with so would you support a statement as to. you know as far as need be to restore like constitution. so far as need be. it's non-negotiable the constitution sure
11:40 pm
go as far as need be. and my other question for you is there's another rally being held right across the river today in washington d.c. at the washington monument and yet from what i've read of the statements of this people as they said they don't want to be associated with this rally where's the breakdown between the two you will have to ask them some of the speakers that are at this event were also at that event. david khodr and larry pratt were out the second amendment really put those two wives and more of them on here that was about . and what do you are you happy with the turnout today because it does seem there's a new poll that just came out saying eighty percent of americans distrust washington and distrust any percent. were definitely part of that a three percent over here but do you think this is a good showing to it seems like there's a lot of heat on that this is been done something like this there's a lot of novelty to it and you yourself are an iraq war veteran right you served
11:41 pm
three tours over in iraq and else you know a lot of the problems that people have with the concert or with the current administration is they feel there's too much government spending going on that they're mandating stretch but how do you feel about that when it translates to war to war you ok with your government's own you know dod volunteered to go over and fight in iraq that's what i joined the marine corps to do so i had no complaints no complaints about that on the troop of. the world could have been conducted differently that volunteered to go over there and fight our enemies. i want to thank you very much for doing the interviewing stan thank you that's like to midway through two thousand and ten we started a new segment on this show called unplugged this is my take on a story the really makes my blood boil something that i really feel passionate about and one moment that set me off was when congress again treated women like second class citizens in this country. yesterday the senate killed the paycheck
11:42 pm
fairness act this is a measure designed to strengthen the enforcement of women's rights to equal pay back to would have made it a federal crime for an employer to fire or punish any workers who share information about their wages and benefits but the senate voted fifty eight to forty one pushing away the idea or any chance of senators even having a discussion about the issue and you want to know why well each senator of course seems to have their own specific reason but the majority said that it all comes down to small businesses they just can't afford it right now lots of senators olympia snowe and susan collins both claimed they said that this act would put an unfair burden on the small businesses by making them spend more money to ensure that their male and female employees are getting the same pay i'm sorry but they want else remember that this is about equality not about economics you know many senators also argue that another bill really led better fair pay act was already passed last year adjusting the timetable in which women can present
11:43 pm
a lawsuit for discriminatory pay but has that really accomplished anything i don't think so for years the pay ratio says that women on average make seventy seven cents for every dollar that men make if you look at the graph put out by the u.s. census bureau the pay gap has stood for at least the past sixteen years and i think that one thing is pretty obvious here the pain equality needs to be a thing of the past for years businesses have told employees to keep their pay a secret do they want the workers to keep their mouth shut just so they can avoid learning the truth that joe blow sitting next to me is making more money than me even though he does the exact same type of work you know the fact that it's two thousand and we still have passed this type of legislation well it's just pathetic but the fact that two female republican senators could vote against it and make it about the fragile state of the economy well that is absolutely a disgrace have you ever seen stronger prove the lawmakers favor business over the
11:44 pm
people they represent yes equality and just as they take sacrifice i don't we didn't make those sacrifices that we probably still have slaves in this country with people like olympia snowe and susan collins in charge. who would say that you know that at all with climate it just wasn't really favorable for making them count as whole people and not just three fifth's and this is a move that i i'm really disappointed. so to come tonight harassment in the workplace a female reporter complained of unwanted advances inside an n.f.l. locker room but some said that it was her fault my chatted with church on the issue in just a moment and glenn beck hates america i respond to his attack on our t.v. when we come back. and don't forget while the alona show is bringing you the best of two thousand and ten you can still sound off we've heard what our guests have had to say on the biggest stories of the year but now you can join in on the debate respond to our show and tell questions on facebook and twitter or send us a video response on you tube if there's an issue you want to let us know and when
11:45 pm
show until returns on january sixth i'll respond to your answers live on air and have a whole new batch of questions let your voice be heard. it can hit dr swan's policeman's wives minister's wife and i just prayed that if you didn't find me if i could slip through the night that i would get my kids out of here because i knew that what was going to happen was that he was going to kill me many victims don't understand that domestic violence includes verbal abuse psychological abuse physical abuse and sexual abuse at least four million women are affected by abuse every year. that i saw that either i'm going to kill him me in jail or he's going it killin it.
11:46 pm
one story they gained nationwide attention here in the u.s. was when a reporter complained of harassment inside an n.f.l. locker room some question the reporter's actions and what she was wearing when this so-called harassment took place and as usual one side what was the argument of she asked for it i don't buy that one bit so our t.v. producer jenny churchill and myself sat down for a chat about the topic take a look now one of the hottest stories out there right now has to deal with mexican television reporter science now the latin bombshell was covering an n.f.l.
11:47 pm
game and when she went into the jets locker room to get an interview with quarterback mark sanchez the players reportedly whistled catcall that her and even threw a football across the locker room now he said that it made her feel quote very uncomfortable in that she didn't like it rather than causing a fuss she simply said that she believes the n.f.l. is going to respond to the incident accordingly but commentators bloggers they all decided that this is a huge deal and the disturbing thing about it is they're not worried about the fact that adult professional athletes are harassing another professional quite the opposite everyone from rush limbaugh to former n.f.l. player tony bruno have said that she was asking for it because she's an attractive woman who was wearing a pair of tight jeans she deserved to be treated that way now statements i feel are so wrong like that in so many ways but i decided to chat with churchill about it so joining me to discuss these are two producer jenny churchill jenny thanks so much
11:48 pm
for being here you know me on this story it makes me mad because i feel like there's just a double standard you know i mean guys what is one of the things they love to watch on t.v. they like to watch sports and they like to watch hot chicks then report on those sports but then if something actually happens they blame the chick for it yeah well you know i really disagree with you there i think the double standard actually goes the other way if you know professionalism goes both ways if you want professionalism from the football players then you'll be professional yourself but when. you mean by that i mean are you saying that she wasn't being professional yeah i mean i don't think we have the first the first image just fine there to be if you have grown up image actually and i guess we don't have this one that's that's out of fields a game that's that would be in my box right there so use that word so she's a very voluptuous young woman and i'm sure that people like to look at her does not mean that she should be harassed and catcalled and whistle that well i mean i think that you know if you're going to go and put yourself out there the way that this
11:49 pm
particular woman has done i just don't know how far you can go in saying that those things are inappropriate she has gone to great lengths to make herself a sexual object on her professional profile for the studio she's got scantily clad bikini photos and she does call herself the hottest reporter and mexico so i just pretty hot to me i mean it's one thing you understand like she's a sexy woman and i think there's nothing wrong with showing off that you're sexy but when people say that you know because you look good then you deserve harassment i just feel like that's so wrong because then i think it's irresponsible because it happens in that falls into the those arguments like oh well this woman was raped because she must have been asking for it really takes you down a very dangerous path this is you know this is just so different we're talking about an n.f.l. locker room different because you know as far as i know she wasn't raped or not locker room and as far as i know no one said wow you look so hot i want to. take
11:50 pm
you down and say you have i think you know and this is my saying why don't for harassment you're acting i'm not saying right now it is not a big deal i'm not saying she's asking for harassment what i'm saying is that there's you know she's calling for a level of professionalism from the people in the locker room and i don't think that she's giving back the same level as i'm not to mention i don't think that women should be in the locker room in the first place or men reporters i don't think that any reporters need to be in the locker. and you're talking about a room where you've got lots of football players who are jacked up on terror also get a job there and i am glad they don't have the answer for the reporters do not need to be in there in the first place and that's about a long hard thing and we know that you know if that's the case and they should change the policy but in fact there are many female reporters in the sports industry there are many reporters that go into the locker rooms to do the interviews it's not their fault i mean if you need to change the policy then go ahead but this is never been an issue up until this date not true but on another
11:51 pm
point i mean you say it's a slippery slope and that you know if you say that she was scantily clad so catcalls or an approach you know that calls aren't that crazy that you know you say someone was asking for rape depending on how they were dressed you know i would say that i'm sorry is that what he. was i wore obviously would never say that a woman deserves rape however don't dress like a hooker walk down the street and be surprised when you're mistaken for a hooker decides what a hooker looks like i mean it is true it's true it's so wrong and so inconsiderate to just say well you look like a horse and you should be treated like a whore what does that even mean that's so subject i didn't say you deserved to be treated like a whore i said don't be surprised if you're mistaken for a whore big difference but you know what we're really talking about here is a woman that loves to be the story and start of covering the story and in my opinion that's exactly what happened here you know she was actually we have to be honest she was very graceful about this didn't make
11:52 pm
a big deal it's everyone else didn't want to do for as a tape not. all the morning shows didn't not a second well she's hot let her go for it if you watch our show then you probably know that i am not a fan of glenn beck i think he spreads fear and hate on his program all for ratings not to mention he uses his audience like an a.t.m. when he attacked our coverage of a story i decided to set the record straight i have to take a moment to speak my thoughts. you know usually we call this fireside fridays but today we're going to do it differently this seal last night glenn beck that doughboy nut job from fox news well he decided to go on a little attack on our t.v. because a few days ago was leader of the new black panther party came on to channel and glenn beck claimed batch that means our channel allows people to freely spread
11:53 pm
their racist rhetoric whereas here is does not i don't know that. someone is showing up racial tension but yeah yeah it's. whole really you don't think of the us as a really funny glenn because i guess i could so warren that you've said some some pretty racist things yourself i mean i don't know am i losing my memory of this. this president i think has exposed himself as a guy over and over and over again who has a deep seated hatred for white people or like culture i don't know what it is he has this guy is i believe a racist. is pretty gnarly so yeah it looks like my memory is still in tip top shape but you know i guess when you say it just doesn't count right it doesn't stir up any racial tension because you've got my blood boiling let me tell you that but
11:54 pm
that's ok that's ok i mean i get it this guy lives in a world of delusion this guy that the crazy. and boils frogs and plays with pictures of hitler he just couldn't be doing it all for t.v. right oh no that wouldn't be right i mean he works for the fair and balanced work the one that delivers true journalism the one that doesn't focus on the visually appealing stories like all the other mainstream media channels right i mean at least that's that's what beck says listeners sell listen to our mainstream media and you might think that all the f.b.i. caught was well i don't know maybe a victoria secret super model that's what i thought totally. maybe mr beck here wasn't watching when the following was on the air yes we're learning more about russian spy anna chapman aka the only spy we care about but apparently with.
11:55 pm
only. you know that's ok that's ok i really i don't blame you guys for talking about the hot redhead the only one we care about is only seems natural you know i think for aids right we're all just driven by our sexual desires but you know. there is one thing here. there is one thing that i do blame you for look. since when do russian news agency sided with the american administration. not the american people they used to tell us that the american people were good but the administration was bad and now the russian agencies are telling us that the american people are bad but the administration mr. confusing the prosperous i mean go out and play you just cool rush to me all this time the kremlin was talking to
11:56 pm
me in my ear and i thought that i was saying that i was bashing the american administration but apparently it's the people i have it's how could that be oh that's right it isn't it isn't because you know what i'm american so how can i hate myself i mean that is what makes any sense i mean because i work for a state run network outside of the state to get to question the state that i work in all i want i get to ask all questions of the american people want to answer about their own country because i care about this country and i don't work for a corporate owned media organization and i question any administration unlike you guys who only question and ministration when it's in your favor because i'm pretty sure he didn't have too many questions when bush was in office. buildings are blowing up of people are jumping out of storage scrapers if you want to live in that country but you would if you worked in the cia you would do everything you can to keep those people safe i wouldn't torture but what about the difference between you bring up timothy mcveigh and gay members and maybe those threats weren't as
11:57 pm
imminent as the try to answer in fact fox news let me tell you that you hate americans that's right glenn beck you have eight americans because you lie to them you scare them you try to warp their minds you tell them that we're becoming some socialist country that all immigrants anyone who's a brown person is a drug dealer a rapist you're not on the side of america and the fact that my channel is more honest with the american people is something you should be ashamed of before we go tonight i have one more unplugged moment from two thousand and ten it was a political ad from our four inch can of that the aired on d.c. area t.v. stations and needless to say the ad was distasteful offensive on many levels and it was an issue that sparked heated debate in this country. you know the freedom of speech to beautiful things but good lord sometimes you really wish you didn't have to see and hear what people put out there let me introduce you to a certain fringe candidate here in washington d.c.
11:58 pm
she's running against eleanor norton holmes and this new candidates name is missy smith and missy is anti-abortion or pro-life as they like to call it despite the fact that she's had two abortions herself and she tells us that her new excruciating lee graphic political ad that you can see on your local t.v. i killed two of my by abortion i was told it's not a they lied to me they exploited me then i learned the truth and i've suffered for years. well we have to stop the ad right there because the rest of the video is outright disgusting it's graphic to the point we have to cover your eyes and you want to vomit and that's exactly what missy was aiming for shock value and thanks to federal laws t.v. stations have no other option but to play her her riff acad like i said thanks to the freedom of speech only there's one problem you see you can have whatever views you want on abortion but it's one thing to make valid arguments against it which i
11:59 pm
don't really feel like there are a lot of but anyway it's another thing entirely to fearmonger and blatantly lie all the disgusting graphic images of dead babies and misses that well those aren't your typical aborted the eighty eight percent of abortions are done in a very early stage when there's nothing more your stomach but a ball of cells and that's what it looks like as a ball of freaking cells the missi here is decided to take pictures of kids that are nearly full term which means that the only reason they have those pictures is because these babies weren't going to live means they were missing crucial organs they had deformities that wouldn't have allowed for them to survive perhaps even die in the womb these are not with the majority of abortions look like so resorting to scare tactics like this that's just sick when you want the opposition or do you want them to show pictures of dead women laying on the ground because of all the back alley abortions performed when it was illegal i've got news for you missy you complained that you were lied to well how about you stop being a hypocrite and.
