who's outside the airport and she was just bringing us the latest on the situation there well let's now see if we can talk to lindsay friends who is i believe outside of one of the hospitals here in moscow where the people were taken to yesterday well lindsay tell us what's going on there we know almost one hundred people have been taken to hospitals and be treated being treated at the moment so what do we know about their condition at this stage. well at this stage we know that thirty eight of those people are in critical condition being monitored very very closely all across moscow immediately after the attacks these people wore put on the trains headed out of the airport some of them were put on trains and then they were taken to hospitals in this in the stranding neighborhoods to get them through traffic as much as possible because of all of the gridlock so there are still. about one hundred ten people in the hospital thirty eight are critical and eight of those

people are internationals coming from italy france england moldova and serbia now prime minister who met with the minister of health yesterday directing her and her deputies to go through the hospitals containing these victims to make sure that absolutely everything is being done that the hospitals and their departments have everything they need all of the medicine all of the staff available that there is enough blood and that they've got everything they need to get these people well as soon as possible there are also efforts to unite families as soon as possible and to say he has promised compensation for the victims in this disaster one million rubles for families of those who have lost a loved one in this and between two hundred and four hundred thousand rubles to those injured in the blasts to help them. no specifics on when or how this money
1:05 am
will be disbursed but it has been sated that those those people will be receiving financial compensation to help them through this time. at this point so that's really all we've got these numbers will possibly be changing it is less than twenty four hours after the event and so it's very touch and go right now but events are being monitored very closely and also do. blood donations can be given at all of these hospitals so it is stressed that if you if you have the ability to to please donate blood. or rightly so there's a situation in hospitals now where as we know almost one hundred people were taken to be treated thanks for this now let's go back to sara who is outside the domodedovo airport and for wing of the story for us of there sara before we were cut off i wanted to ask you about the conclusions the investigators made so far. well they're still working on the scene here along with the forensic teams we know
1:06 am
that they've got a number of there is the predominant one big that the terror attack was carried out by a suicide bomber and we've heard from some sources that it's perhaps too early to give that as a definite but there's some theory that the police are now actually looking for a number of other people that were related to the attack they think that possibly those people who dropped off. the parking area. and then the suicide bomber and to the international arrival area and set off that explosion we also know that it happened at peak arrival time there about thirty flights arriving fifteen a days international so it really seems that this attack was designed to cool as much in the damage now they're studying very closely the c.c.t.v. footage that they have hair on the documentation of the book we actually have pitches from the moment that the explosion happened that quite harrowing images of the bodies on the floor in the dense smoke from that explosion and we can hear now
1:07 am
as well from some of the eyewitnesses to that. nice appeal covered in blood with injured limbs and ones their faces were covered with blood to someone unconscious there was a feeling that something big something heavy fell down there is a construction site there so we saw the workers drop something heavy but people from the second floor say that they felt a shake of the door and. who were leaving. in the airport when we had the explosion when we were leaving the luggage claim area there was something in the air and there was smoke our friends were calling us saying that there was an explosion and they were victims the bomb was not in the baggage area but right behind the doors in the crowd of people welcoming us in the airport principle so that i didn't have to me we heard in the. huge commotion started immediately the scene was quickly secure the police were everywhere. and offering them first aid course.
1:08 am
all right well sara at this point tell us how the airport is functioning what's going on there. liz he said they've noticed that the security here. isn't a civil they've got a lot more security stuff on the ground and they've got days message to take them places when you. know we saw this happen after the attack yesterday not just a time of day to vote but all the main trials with haitian hugs that was on a presidential order but as we've heard first i'm afraid of just saying now questions are really going to be asked as to why these measures what in place in the first instance and why it was able to happen. that's going to certainly be something that they're looking fairly closely at we've also heard a personal data saying that they're going to need to reassess the anti terror laws we know that those were both stood up on the desk expressed in the last game that shape of things. happening less than a year ago they're now going to need to be scrutinized to see how they're operating in practice i want can be done to avoid situations like this happening in ensuring

really the measures are in place to stop instances like this the caring again. precious business rocked by an explosion chaos blood smoke and death in the international arrival section. someone detonated an explosive device it was either in luggage or suicide. a suitcase was on fire and a person had his part to me and the explosive devices are the only person know in the suitcase i don't know what you know he was dressed in black and standing with his back to me last three me three meters back on i stood up everyone was running towards the exit panicking there was a lot of black smoke when the lights went out i went for medical checkup at first i thought i had a wound on my hand but it turned out i just had someone else's blood on me i mean you can't see anything at the scene of you know it's all kind of gone and the

investigators are working you can't see anything so there's a distinctive smell in the air which is you know the blast wave was very strong we were quite far from the explosion but even there we could feel the blast wave ears had we felt a strong blow. doesn't it have a quickly swarming with police officers special security forces and paramedics investigation almost immediately focusing on one theory. that the police are investigating at the scene of the explosion place in the international arrivals who the suicide bomber suspected of carrying out the attack. initially authorities discussed a total evacuation of the airport but that one did have a continued business as usual there with some noticeable changes with the unprecedented security measures now in place of the domodedovo airport everybody who is meeting and greeting those wire arriving is forced to stand right here behind me and this is the departures lounge in fact this occurred the measures are

so strict that we were actually told twice to leave and not to film here those looking to get out of them a good of a were offered free travel on the rail shuttle between the airport and central moscow some good samaritans even driving stricken passengers home for free the tragedy resonated throughout the world with condolences pouring in from london paris warsaw and washington many observers say this latest attack on russia has far reaching implications the growing islamism is a global phenomenon but the terrorism is usually caused by even splinter groups of then the islamist. movement and those are usually pretty local with local causes for instance al qaeda attacks the united states for its foreign policy that sort of thing so it's seems like a global movement but it's really not that coordinated various groups attack various countries for various reasons and it's usually local but while world

international airport mosco russian federation january twenty fourth two thousand and eleven causing the numerous deaths and injuries. expressed their deep sympathy and condolences to the victims of this scheme is acts of terrorism and to their families and to the people and government of the russian federation also we know that the u.n. security council is going to start their session on tuesday with a minute of silence in memory of the victims we also have a statement from nato secretary-general who said he was shocked by this attack he says terrorism is a common threat and the international community has to fight it together and this really was an act of international terrorism if you think about it they attacked the busiest international airport in washington the terrorist clearly knew that not only washington nationals are going to suffer moreover we're getting reports about french italian nationals caught up in this tragic attack this could suggest that kerry's don't really care about nationality well what's really shocking to most

here is this blast in context of the previous ones where she has suffered from a succession of horrendous terrorist attacks over the last year and a health there were the moscow metro. bombings last march there was the attack on the passenger train a little bit over a year ago and only recently has the united states and the west the general started to sort of acknowledged that this is part of international terrorism and not just russia as the mass that gave shoes security experts point out that these monsters could actually be staging the attacks to raise funds from international terrorist networks you know to sort of children they can pull this off now everybody's talking about terrorism as a common threat that the international community has to fight fight it together and so on and so forth but the rhetoric hasn't always been like this where a long time the west would see the terrible things that terrorists had done in russia as part of some separatist movement as they would call it but now it's very
1:15 am
much clear to everyone that these things are as threat to the whole of the international community and that their actions cannot be justified by anything but again it took the west a while to realize that. there and frag we are moscow bureau chief of the christian science monitor says the terrorists have studied the security weak points of the moscow transport system. well we know that is the gateway to the north caucasus as far as russian domestic you know what's good for moscow that may be a reason. but i think it's all sort of fact that. over the past few years you see terrorists striking in moscow most memorably less than a year ago when two suicide bombers hit the moscow metro. i think they find vulnerable points i think they notice that. security is lax and and they
1:16 am
select these places for for maximum impact and i know when i since i went through don't get a bill just because weeks ago. their security measures had really fallen off i suppose it was because of the black coat that they had on december twenty sixth the airport was shut down there and they had all these problems i'm sure it introduced may have made them speed up made them perhaps more careless. for we are moscow bureau chief of the christian science monitor there am peter power u.k. based crisis management specialist told r.t. that following a terrorist attack it's essential to keep things moving. one of the rules we're dealing with terrorism in the twenty first century is not to stop everything if you can possibly keep things going to judgement of moscow airport making some flights well that's the core you have to remember that terrorism doesn't actually rely on the bank they were lies on the fear of the bank and so yes we've got
1:17 am
a catastrophe and by the sound of it many deaths but overall actually you are probably a lot more likely to be hit by lightning than ever be to be killed by a terrorist bomb it is just a random nature of terrorism so if we can carry on business as usual as quickly as we can that's my point about a lot of people affected beyond this but the issue is gather that intelligence that's most important to make sure your security is as good as it reason we can be and remember we're talking about weapons of mass effect here not weapons of mass destruction so we still don't know who did it whether it's an affiliate of al qaeda we simply don't know yet. how the body scenes of the moscow attack are reminiscent of what can be seen in a computer game a controversial involves a character who's urged to kill civilians in an imaginary airport the aftermath of monday's blast has sparked hard debate as the stuff of a fictional computer game became shocking reality lauren lyster reports

a terrorist attack kills dozens of innocent people in creates chaos at a moscow airport fact. or fiction it's the scenario being played out here in this popular american video game sold worldwide call of duty modern warfare two does no russian in this mission the player goes on a terrorist regime page hoping to massacre civilians in a fictitious moscow airport it may have seemed too gruesome and tragic to become troops were it not for the very real events seen here at the dome of judge of the airport more than thirty people have been killed more than one hundred eighty injured in what investigators believe was a terrorist attack committed by a suicide bomber inside the international arrivals of russia's busiest airport. tars a video game version a lot more people have been involved in this violent video game was released in

november of two thousand and nine by the american company activision and in just a few months sales had served one billion dollars now even for people that didn't download the game just a simple you tube search where you type in no russian can reveal that segment right here this one has eight hundred seventy thousand views and with so many people seemingly downloading playing or watching this game you have to consider whether or not anybody ever thought that this game could so closely resemble reality indeed it's trouble to look at the game and then the reality of the issue is we need to know if terrorists or extremists are using these videos or these d.v.d.'s with these games to basically apply in the model is the way in which you know entertainment mirrors reality and reality mirrors entertainment and there are people who are influenced by all of this even though the manufacturers always deny that it has any influence on anyone. denials aside some say games like this can

of the cost of a liberation army of murdering serbian and cost of albanian prisoners and selling their organs almost two thousand ethnic serbs and albanians remain missing from the casa war at the end of the ninety nine days as artie's a country and as all reports without a trace that's how the silence brother disappeared along with thousands of other people. he went to work as usual with his friends to the blots of it's mine and that was it i never saw him again we went to the police and everyone else we can think of after the war i thought there'd be an exchange of prisoners and hundreds of obedience were freed there's so many serbs are still missing now after twelve years i've lost all the international officials who didn't do anything when they easily could. after the cost of a war over two thousand people went missing and over a decade later are still unaccounted for but a grim report brought to the council of europe by swiss investigator dick marty has

shed some light on the gruesome fate of all those missing according to the report senior officials in the cost of the liberation army including current prime minister question touchy who are involved in kidnapping serbs and selling their organs on the black market. there was at least one custom built element to the post conflict network of detention facilities which was unique in appearance and purpose it constituted a state of the art reception center for the organized crime of organ trafficking it was styled as a makeshift operates in clinic and it was the site at which some of the captives held by the k.l.a. members and affiliates had the good news removed against their will according to our sources the ringleaders of this criminal enterprise then ship the human organs out of albania and sew them to private overseas clinics as part of the international black market of organ trafficking transplantation. finding living

victims of these crimes may be near impossible but dick marty's group found the next best thing the money trail and the liberation army have these accounts and so it's in german banks and they're suspected of using them for the profits from illegal organ trafficking sumption is that some alleged human interior an organization opened these accounts one of them for example the scope for kosovo there was just a cover story of course so that the true purpose of all that money would remain the secret of course but it is a secret no more and understandably the swiss government is very concerned as are the swiss bankers this is very important for us regarding also the confidence under a petition of the financial center of switzerland and that's why court of the wheels also political this to go. the swiss banking community is known and favored for its discretion and unwillingness to disclose its client information to any
