those officials responsible for security. must be punished for their decisions. russian president dmitry medvedev promises action in the wake of a terror attack on moscow's biggest airport which killed at least thirty five people and injured only two hundred and investigators believe the attack was most likely a suicide bombing and experts say that a national terrorist are involved making it more of an internal issue. and all this reduction treaty between moscow and washington has been in the final stretch as the state will hold the third and final review before it's ratification of. an organ trafficking accusations against the highest ranking officials of possible are to be discussed in the council of europe as it sits down to debate
5:01 am
a report by swiss investigator. watching r.t. live from moscow russian president dmitry medvedev says the management of airport is responsible for security violations which led to a deadly blast at russia's biggest air hub on monday a suicide bomber is suspected to be behind the attack which killed thirty five people and left around one hundred eighty injured the blast took place in the international arrivals area and as the country's worst since twin bombings rock moscow's metro last march around a hundred people have been taken to hospitals across the capital cross live to our correspondent sara firth who's outside the airport so sara there have been some strong statements from the kremlin today concerning the terror attack. absolutely
5:02 am
we heard president making his statement today and he was pointing the finger of blame very firmly. on the management saying that they really need to take responsibility for their part to play in this now we know that there was a large quantity of explosives that were able to be taken inside the airport yesterday and so what he's saying is that really they now need to take responsibility for having not had affected preventive measures in place. what happened. to the security it's unbelievable this is a huge amount of explosives into the terminal those officials responsible for security. must be punished for their decisions this is a grief a tragedy. you know we've heard a similar sentiment from many officials this belief really that that was able to happen that those explosives that quantity of explosives were able to be taken into
5:03 am
the airport now we've just heard that the investigation's committee currently questioning management stuff and officials we know that the investigators have been looking at the airport documentation in particular the safety regulation document a speech tonight six days to see what part had to play in this attack and other investigators are still working at the scene here along with the forensic stuff and we know that they're still trying to establish exactly what happened and there's a number of versions that they're working with dominantly if they do you think this probably carried out by a suicide bomber and we've heard from unofficial sources that police are possibly looking for a number of other people in connection with this attack and that possibly they dropped off the suicide bomber at the parking area. and the suicide bomber able to enter the arrivals area the international arrivals area. yesterday you could have
5:04 am
added to that area they had checks in place so anyone could enter and clearly that is the case if it was a suicide bomber they were able to that other four thirty pm yesterday that's of that explosion which tragically has already killed thirty five people and we've seen some of the footage from the security cameras here at the airport very very harrowing images of the bodies on the ground and of this like that which was caused by that loss we've heard also some of the eyewitness accounts of what happened. reisa people covered in blood with injured limbs and the ones their faces were covered with blood to someone conscious there was a feeling that something something heavy fell down there is a construction site near there so we saw that the workers dropped something heavy but people from the second floor say that they felt a shake of the door and. who were leaving the airport when we heard the explosion when we were leaving the luggage claim area there was something in the air and there was smoke our friends were calling us saying that there was an explosion and
5:05 am
there were victims the bomb was not in the baggage area but tried behind the doors in the crowd of people welcoming us in the airport principally to be able to move we heard. for a huge commotion started immediately the scene was quickly sure the police were everywhere. and offering them first. though we've also just heard from the investigations committee is that they think they found the remains of the person who was a potential suicide bomber they haven't been able to identify that person and that specialist genetics team will need to come in to help with that analysis now working hard to clear up to find out exactly what happened and to find out who was responsible for this attack. also russian airports have tied security measures after the blast but how is the money every airport functioning today. well if he
5:06 am
did expect the security has greatly increased but as we've said the question now is really why it wasn't done sooner now when you come in to tell the date of its days taking a little longer it's getting to the airport because they have an issue a security check is seen as you enter you have to put your luggage through the metal detector and as we said the question really is if they had the capability to have these jets why they went in place yesterday and as opposed to preventive to the situation like the attack that we saw happening now we focus the fed will say stay the lead to scrutinize the countries anti terrorism those we know that those to strengthen of the attack that happened in the state of the most a much a bombing for the most a bunch of buildings have been left a year ago still very fresh in everyone's mind these laws were supposed to be put in place to be stronger so they're not going to be a need to look at how they're working in practice and see if there are any weaknesses that we've also heard the most gamest case of yunnan he visited the
5:07 am
scene yesterday after the attack he said that he's going to be looking not only at the security in the pools but throughout the whole of the city and he doesn't just want heightened security for a short period of time he really wants the security now tightened for the future and we've other the antiterrorism committee all looking at the blueprints of the priest for a lot of the metro stations a lot of the we know the person the fate of right now is currently in a meeting with the f.s.b. a key discussed security of course everyone right now very focused on ensuring that every possible measure is put in place to prevent anything like this happening again. sara first thanks very much indeed for bringing us the update. that over one hundred people are now undergoing treatment in hospitals across the capital thirty nine of them are in a serious condition and four are in a critical state are just lindsay francis outside one of those hospitals. one hundred ten people are reported to have been taken into the hospitals at this point
5:08 am
thirty nine are seriously injured four of those are critical there are internationals injured at the various hospitals reportedly from italy france england serbia and to the prime minister putin had met with the ministry of health on this yesterday asking her to please bring deputies to the different moscow hospitals that absorbed these one hundred ten injured and inspected facilities make sure that there is more than enough staff. on call at this point to deal with. number of injured deal with medicines make sure there's enough blood and in fact these hospitals are calling for blood if it's at all possible to get to these hospitals at this point and donate please do so the hospital spoke with us earlier today giving us more information on. what they have to say. he was sure.
5:09 am
the condition. is an extremely serious condition. when the patients arrive. the examinations showed that they had fragments. aside from that the government plans to compensate. family members of deceased by one million roubles and to offer the injured between two hundred and four hundred thousand rubles as compensation to help deal with these in various more information is coming out all the time from these hospitals and of course we'll keep you updated on that lindsey friends there as if you're an analyst for burden explains why airports are an obvious target for terrorists. if you look at the nature of the airports in general they're a very logical target set especially in light of the transportation sector in the
5:10 am
ongoing threats directed towards them if you think about it in context as you arrive at an airport you're cued up before you get into any kind of screening environment. it looks like they are somewhat flip the equation and and we're focusing on the arrival aspect or the baggage claim area and in essence that's where family and friends can calm and meet their loved ones so that from a terrorists perspective you're able to get into that kind of environment and be successful with an improvised explosive device with low probability of getting caught by now there's no doubt that they have a pretty good idea on the suicide bomber based on the crime scene they may have some challenges with doing a rapid investigation of the individual that actually detonated the improvised explosive device but in all probability they've got
5:11 am
a pretty good working file on the suspect. hours of bloody scenes of the moscow attack are reminiscent of what can be seen in a computer game it kind of virtually involves a character whose urge to kill civilians in an imaginary airport the aftermath of monday's blast has sparked a hot debate of the stuff of a fictional computer game became a shocking reality artist lauren lister reports a terrorist attack kills dozens of innocent people and creates chaos at a moscow airport fact. it was fiction it's the scenario being played out here in this popular american video game sold worldwide call of duty modern warfare two does no russian in this mission the player goes on a terrorist rampage hoping to massacre civilians in a fictitious moscow airport it may have seemed too gruesome and tragic to become
5:12 am
troops were it not for the very real events seen here at the dome of judge of the airport more than thirty people have been killed more than one hundred eighty injured in what investigators believe was a terrorist attack committed by a suicide bomber inside the international arrivals of russia's busiest airport. tars a video game version a lot more people have been involved in this violent video game was released in november of two thousand and nine by the american company activision and in just a few months sales who asked one billion dollars now even for people that didn't download the game just a simple you tube search where you type in no russian can reveal that segment right here this one has eight hundred seventy thousand views and with so many people seemingly downloading playing or watching this game you have to consider whether or not anybody ever thought that this game could so closely resemble reality indeed
5:13 am
it's trouble to look at the game and then the reality of the issue is we need to know if terrorists or extremists are using these videos or these d.v.d.'s with these games to basically applaud the model there's a way in which you know entertainment mirrors reality and reality mirrors entertainment and there are people who are influenced by all this even though the manufacturers always deny that it has any influence on anyone. denials aside some say games like this can aid and abet reality. i think though who have been radicalized already let's suppose them to a car or other car and they look at the games and see that these games will sort of them to train as for the aftermath russian officials say don't get to the airport will recover quite soon and a range of public figures came out condemning the attack. but so far no one is coming out questioning justification for a virtual version lauren lyster r.t.

new york the latest news this hour transport safety in russia has been a focus at a meeting between the country's president dmitri medvedev and federal security service officials in response to the attack while we can now cross live to our correspondent tom barton who is. following the story for us there. we will have a chance to talk to tom hopefully later in the program. now the blast at the moscow airport may also affect the upcoming world economic forum in the swiss town of delphos and russia's president dmitry medvedev was scheduled to open the summit but after the attack he said he would delay his arrival artie's lore and it is in switzerland. he's cancelling it all together so we still are
5:15 am
expecting him to come to davos at some stage this week he was supposed to make this very important opening speech but now it looks like he may may not make that speech we don't know whether he's going to be here on wednesday in time to make it so someone else may have to make it to his place we have heard that he may come on thursday or he may come on wednesday to make that speech and then leave almost immediately afterwards in the aftermath of this tragedy president medvedev received telephone calls and letters and messages of condolence to leaders all around the world and of course he can expect more of the same when he arrives here in davos if indeed he does come the u.k. prime minister david cameron will be here and of course we now know that britons were killed in this attack we can expect them to have a conversation about that and it's interesting what's happened as far as attitudes in the world towards terror attacks in russia go in recent years previously it was seen as very much a second attack that happened in russia with part of
5:16 am
a distinctly russian problem stemming from unrest in the caucasus areas like to start in english but we've seen more and more recently particularly in the aftermath of the most demetri bombings last year world leaders have come out and recognize that as part of a wider global terror threat and said you know we now know that the people who are attacking ports in metro stations in russia have proven links to al qaida some of the being funded by them some of them of going to training camps in other countries that's being more and more recognizes this global terror threat and that was the pits in my eyes really by the chief of nato mr rasmussen who came out and said this is a common fight that we have to face you know i said that was his message to the people of russia expect more messages condolence of solidarity from leaders around the world. all that was our correspondent laura ammon there and as we earlier reported
5:17 am
transport safety in russia has been in focus at a meeting between the country's president dmitri medvedev and federal security service officials in response to the attack. national moves through a national the ourselves and our associating general because of his once again being challenged brutally at them with. issues with them that i think everybody present in this room. he's clear about that because she didn't push the movement has is also clear that we need to do everything in order for the criminals who committed this crime is the bridge to be established and found and brought to justice again you know that when you can and the nests that worry these bandits or rioting whatever their name is should be exterminated or would you support it with those who will offer resistance to that. that were good thing and we should not lose or iran isn't
5:18 am
a should be destroyed right there. well we can now cross to our correspondent tom barden who is following the story for us there tom hello to you so what's been discussed there today what else tell us more. present knowledge that of there at that meeting with the ministry of the interior on the federal security service really highlighting his priorities now for them for the federal security service who says the finding the culprits who did this is now their top priority that should be there absolutely first focus and once they found the people who were actually responsible for planning this attack should be brought to court and if any resistance is put up on the the nests as he called them all of the perpetrators of this attack should be rooted out and destroyed go right to the root and destroy these terrorists be the root of the problem as it were he also was talking about who is responsible for the security of this airport and of russian transport and he
5:19 am
said those responsible for sins of purity of passengers and of transport hogs at the airport and elsewhere they have not followed the the laws and antiterrorism properly they had acted irresponsibly and they were partly to blame for this for this bar being able to get into the airport and they must clean up their act now and stop something like this happening again. all right to marc thanks very much indeed for the subject and to martin's bring us an update on the meeting between the country's president dmitry medvedev and federal security service officials in response to the attack. well two other stories now that we are following for you here on our t.v. russia's lower house of parliament the state duma is considering the ratification of russia u.s. strategic arms reduction treaty in its third and last reading are going off following the hearing. the meeting started with a note of sorrow
5:20 am
a minute of silence can memory. the victims of monday's attack in moscow's the motherboard airport the vault on the new strategic arms reduction treaty between moscow and washington is going to be held at around five pm moscow time it's known that in the same fashion as the u.s. congress the state duma is also making its amendments to the treaty which is expected to reduce the number of nuclear arms on each side by around one third which is significant in terms of the global nuclear arms reduction for more on this i'm joined by the head of the state duma can commit for international affairs because they think essential thank you very much for joining me. first of all can you tell us more about these amendments and why are they being implemented. will the two presidents signed the treaty is the big redeployment trying to synchronize
5:21 am
the rectification procedures. by that i believe they meant the. act of or if occasionally saying guess or no to the to the treaty that was the initial idea and unfortunately we could not follow this idea for the simple reason our american partners in the senate started to interpret the treaty the right even to demand the text of the treaty which would have been absolutely outrageous but they did not amend the treaty itself but they made certain to pretty certain. statements which did not leave us any choice but to follow the same pattern and to introduce our own interpretations in order to balance the interpretations made by but by by the senate and this is this is our work we should be complete today we have amended the british occasion law not the treaty itself but the rectification law at present
5:22 am
. to do more by the president and we have passed two more statements one of them for. consumption in the united states and the other one is for consumption within russia one is further explanations of how we interpret this text in the future and the second one is what we think about the need for developing the strategic nuclear potential for usher in terms of governmental programs in terms of decisions by the president the french. well for more on the star's ratification treaty i'm now joined by victor mizzen political analyst from moscow state university victor thank you for being with us now how significant are these amendments made by the russian side to the treaty. well i think definitely this was the magic week old man called the last year probably of the three old. nuclear offensive on for the first doctor to read you to be
5:23 am
a soldier when you. cheated on the money if you were in the bush administration. or united states i think it's very important that we have been given full legal document which casts all nuclear arsenals at the same time for us very important to branches of a disability for nuclear deterrence and hold what's very important because there's been you three gear that reflects the new reality of that knowledge russia is free to do you find this drug. and there are real competition all faiths to try to teach you've got fanciful says. well victor is a russian and american sides made these amendments to the start treaty the question is won't disaffect the essence of the treaty in other words how is it possible to
5:24 am
implement it if the parties have different interpretations. why i don't think that them to predation are so different fortunately for the first time to thaw the republic bought all this on the floor against three d. which is the rather strange but i think it's. a bomb there and in most of the administration and basically i don't thing by the both so much i mean of it three d. it's. i think if we. go there broach basically the. same. i want. the. big seller is a very. war. in the document which.
5:25 am
has adopted basically they both centered on three major. united states should be free to develop its a.b.m. . system and i think it's. because it's very important that the system isn't limited to the. united states is not going to have more. ground based. on the reserve and it's very important for russia as i said. to get. back on its territory i mean. this is nuclear weapons and. russia should join united states
5:26 am
in that. moscow has been. just to start discussing the united states should withdraw. nuclear weapons. from the territorial boards. and. even the obama administration is right you to do it all right moving. all right thanks very much and political analyst from moscow state university is in there it's all we have time for for. much appreciated your views here on our team. and the council of europe will debate the findings of an explosive report into the alleged trafficking of organs in cost of all the claims were contained in an acquirer by swiss human rights dick marty accusing high ranking members of the cause of a liberation army of murdering serbia now because of all benny and prisoners and selling their organs almost two thousand athletes serbs and albanians remain

missing from the cost of war of the end of the ninety's are these guys who knows are the has more without a trace that's how the brother disappeared along with thousands of other people. he went to work as usual with his friends to the bullets of it's mine and that was it i never saw him again we went to the police and everyone else we can think of after the war i thought there'd be an exchange of prisoners and hundreds of obedience were freed the so many serbs are still missing now after twelve years i've lost all the international officials who didn't do anything before when they easily could. after the cost of a war over two thousand people went missing and over a decade later are still unaccounted for but a grim report brought to the council of europe by swiss investigator dick marty has shed some light on the gruesome fate of all those missing according to the report senior officials in the cost of the liberation army including current prime

minister question touchy were involved in kidnapping serbs and selling their organs on the black market. there was at least one custom built element to the post conflict network of detention facilities which was unique in appearance and purpose it constituted a state of the art reception center for the organized crime of traffic and it was styled as a makeshift operates in clinic and it was the site at which some of the captives held by the kayla members and affiliates had the good news removed against their will according to our sources the ringleaders of this criminal enterprise then ship the human organs out of albania and sold them to private overseas clinics as part of the international black market of organ trafficking transplantation. finding living victims of these crimes may be near impossible but dick marty's group found the next best thing the money trail and. liberation army have these accounts and so
5:29 am
it's in german banks and they're suspected of using them for the profits from illegal organ trafficking the assumption is that some alleged human interior an organization opened these accounts one of them for example the skull. that was just a cover story of course so that the true purpose of all that would remain the secret is of course but it is a secret no more and understandably the swiss government is very concerned as are the swiss bankers this is very important for us regarding also the confidence under a petition of the financial center of switzerland and that's why court of the. also political office this is to go. the swiss banking community is known and favored for its discretion and unwillingness to disclose its client information to any investigative party however this time around they may not have a choice but on the plots of the final.
