it's six am in the russian capital i match reza good to have you with us here on r t our top story wiki leaks founder julian assange has threatening to sue the guardian newspaper over its tell all book about the online whistleblower the newspaper is also being used to editing the confidential diplomatic cables it got from the website or his laura amid reports on what's behind the bitter dispute. they were better than exposing us embassy secrets to the world but now wiki leaks and the guardian have rapidly fallen out of love and it's turning nasty in the original agreement between wiki leaks and its partner publications the partners were to help publish cables on the whistle blowing website blocking out names to protect the innocent was allowed but sources close to wiki leaks maintain the guardian went one step further accusing the newspaper of redacting the cables to

it also could be simply the lawyers at the guardian are getting a bit jumpy and saying well look we can't accuse people of bribes because they're incredibly powerful and they're rich and this is one of the problems with the laws of libel and the lawyers at newspapers is that they're actually only afraid of the rich and powerful ordinary people they will say almost anything about them because . these people don't have the means to sue the guardian prince andrew was cocky. verging on route in kyrgyzstan. since prince andrew may have wished the guardian had edited information about his behavior in kyrgyzstan more thoroughly elsewhere some media commentators say the reason for the guardian's alterations was to help simplify the information it's still the way it should be done there's so much material and it is so a lot of the form that he sees is difficult to inaccessible it has to be translated

most popular in the world and i want to ask you if you know any numbers in terms of how many break ups or divorces some of your games have caused for people who got so hooked they couldn't stop well actually when i was casting vice city one of the actors that came in and he said this and that was this four and we explained to them you know it's for grand theft auto vice city and he just kind of took a step back and kind of apologize and so that he can partake in the casting and basically what happened was that he was playing grand theft auto three and he might have locking himself up in his room while he was actually having a pretty tough time in his marriage he came out two days later from nonstop playing the game to find his apartment pretty much and he and his wife gone and so for that reason he didn't feel like he could you know be a part of the new cast for grand theft auto so it's definitely had an impact was the longest period of time you heard about when someone would sit down and play your game continuously without i think this guy kind of broke the record he said he went fifty hours straight and he kind of see why his wife left him this new game that you're working on one nine hundred seventy nine is based off the history of
10:24 pm
iran and apart from the fact that you were born there why did you choose this to base this new game off off this country in particular i came to realize that there is a number of different sides to a story and that this aspect if introduced in a game could kind of revolutionize how we play games it's not a matter of bad guys going after good guys or good guys going after. bad guys it's a matter of or a whole bunch of people with being in a number of different colors whether they're you ronnie an american pro-democracy pro theocracy whether they want to just make money on the side by sneaking in alcohol or whether they want to make sure that everyone follows the religious rules of islam these are all different stories and to be able to actually convey that and let people interact as those players would just open up this entire genre of gaming but how much of a political context does this game have and especially if we talk about timing for
10:25 pm
example because of course you know the united states is building up this idea that iran is a very big threat to america and the fact that you're working on this game do you think you'll get some sort of reactions and feedback in terms of you know a political maybe message that you're trying to send out absolutely i mean i think right off the bat it's quite controversial because i am saying that there are no good guys kind of games or the real world in the real world in the real or in games the games that might exist but games are really in a reflection of what we've seen in entertainment and what we've seen in politics it doesn't really make a difference what somebody says is good a word but it's a matter of perspective you know if you're in iran and you feel that the united states is about attacking you and you work as a plumber and you have three kids and you just try to take care of your living you are going to view the united states as a bad guy because they're planning on attacking you i mean this is been pretty much what's been addressed in regards to the number of civilian deaths in afghanistan
10:26 pm
but on the other side you know you take a look at. some of the good documentaries that have come out of afghanistan you get to really understand what these u.s. soldiers are doing down there they believe in the cause of their doing and they believe that they're trying to do something good nobody is to say that this person is right this person is wrong it's just a matter of what the situation is dictated and the legions of. people that are making decisions that is kind of caused these conflicts but the people involved in them might not be the true aggressor there's a number of different facets to it and that i'm not pointing to saying that americans are bad or iranians are bad i'm saying the situation is bad there's been quite a bit of controversy about this game call of duty modern warfare two there is episode in there where a terrorist attacks people at a russian airport obviously it's a game but we just saw terror acts take place in a moscow airport in that were pretty similar absolutely what do you make of that
10:27 pm
it's funny because i played that game and i actually stopped playing that particular point it's definitely a sad situation what took place in russia the airport and this video game aspect of it happens i think coincidentally many games seem to on the contrary build up a certain terror act or certain events i know there's a game out there that's called september twelfth and so on which obviously gets people to join in because of certain real events that took place in terms of what's happening with games where people are actually jumping on top of controversies i think it's foolish for us to recognize that controversy when it comes to games selling when it comes to movies when it comes to anything when it comes to ticket sales is something that drives people to jump on such marketing campaigns i want to ask you this technology is obviously moving very very quickly these days what is the most exciting thing in the world of video games we would you say can expect in

the next decade and the next decade who are that i don't think i even i can just tell you that what's exciting me right now is the i pad basically all the tablets in general what can be played on that in terms of gaming is is amazing terms of gameplay it's just going to get more and more detail and hopefully provide people with greater experiences so we can start. thank you very much for your time thanks for having me. wealthy british style. is not on the title of.
