now i want to hear. this video response or the twitter part of the questions of. every monday and on thursday the long response is. well it's time for tonight's tool time award and it goes to the media unless you're just waking up from a coma or maybe you've been lost at sea for a week you've probably seen the media firestorm surrounding actor charlie sheen he's at war with c.b.s. after they pulled the plug on the final eight episodes of his hit t.v. show two and a half. rocky past with alcohol drugs prostitutes and high profile police run ins finally forced the network to cancel the rest of the season but
10:32 pm
sheen was obviously not too happy with the move so since then he's fired back at c.b.s. and just take a look at the charlie sheen media's circuits that one has been forced to watch on a daily basis there. i am on a drug it's called charlie sheen. and it's not available because if you try one of your facial melt off in your child in the week you're exploded body will not believe that if i do something then i have to follow certain because it was written and it was written for normal people people that are special people who don't have targer blood and you know adonis d.n.a. has never grandiose life of the races they're like. doesn't fit into their model the model sucks the one where you're their model that sucks and it's built by losers and i will be a part of it. you have gone. pathways and. i think it's because i can't. no not anymore.
10:33 pm
you know. i got to admit it is kind of entertaining but that was just as little example of all the media hype surrounding a spoiled drug addict addicted actor who makes two million dollars per episode which makes him well or made him the highest paid actor on t.v. but did you notice something during a lot of those interview clips see the word exclusive here very after how many t.v. networks out there claim to have the exclusive interview with charlie sheen let's take a look let's see i'm seeing a lot of exclusive right here i'm seeing another exclusive right here maybe a little one on one with charlie sheen now come on how is that possible how can everybody have an exclusive and yet everybody has an interview with him the t.v. network has been misleading their viewers with exclusive banners isn't it nice to
10:34 pm
see the media hype this story really only affects a really tiny small group of people who work on his show never mind the fact that the government might be shutting down and we have protests in wisconsin revolution in the middle east and two words to cover let's get the fake exclusive with charlie sheen and that's why the mainstream media is can i it's tools i would. now your honor i'd like to call a nine week old fetus as the next witness those are the words that ohio's house help committee is going to hear the group take on a proposed abortion bill the bill sponsored by a pro-life group called faith to action and the head of a group hopes to pass a new measure in the state banning any abortion after a heartbeat can be detected in the fetus and that's where the witness comes into play based actions janet porter who also happens to be of berger's says if a fetus is going to appear before the committee via an ultrasound from the mother
10:35 pm
to portray who is going to be affected by this measure she got all of that they're going to go through all of this political b.s. to call a fetus to be a witness for some insane anti-abortion measure i guess that shouldn't come as that big of a surprise it's just the latest in a string of conservative efforts to take down women's rights and we've spoken in depth before about these insane bills being proposed they're trying to change the ways that an abortion can be performed if one can be performed at all but at what point does someone say enough is enough i think calling a fetus to the stand is the final straw i mean really really a be this as a witness somebody out there has to stop these crazies from getting any attention because frankly i've been afraid of what they're going to do next. now thanks to the activists of anonymous tens of thousands of emails were leaked from h.p. gary federal the disclose the work of team them it's

a washington law firm hunton and williams working with three contractors to launch a dis information campaign against enemies of the chamber of commerce and then a separate projects on behalf of bank of america to hurt friends of wiki leaks and we reported that story when it first broke here on the show but now there's a group of house democrats that released a letter calling on republican leaders to investigate the actions of lawmakers say that it is deeply troubling the tactics developed for use against terrorists they have been unleashed against american citizens and now i couldn't agree more with them more considering that the chamber of commerce has been the old largest spender in the country for lobbying specifically republican causes what are the chances they will actually see an investigation come to light joining me is jane hamsher founder of firedoglake dot com jane thanks so much for joining us first of all are you surprised i mean can you believe the fact that some members of congress out there are actually calling for an investigation here and quite frankly i was
10:37 pm
shocked. but i'm i was too but i'm i'm happy that they are you know if this is happening to progressive outside of congress that's probably happening regresses inside of congress too what do you think the chances are that republicans are going to go after something that their love the chamber of commerce may have been involved in i don't expect anybody will i mean you have to remember that the justice department supposedly contacted bank of america and told them to hire hundreds and millions to act as a buffer between them and these defense contractors and that defense content that justice department is run by eric holder so it probably is just a republican thing it's probably an institutional player thing everybody's battling for the chambers love in two thousand and twelve and i don't really think that anybody's going to be investigating but i'm glad that somebody is calling for any right now i think that's a good thing that we finally are hearing some calls for an investigation find it a little odd though that would only cause you know hearing calls for an
10:38 pm
investigation when it comes to the chamber of commerce clause and yet not the bank of america apply or they are going after supporters of wiki leaks or perhaps even journalists people like glenn greenwald that were individually targeted absolutely they are coming out basically and types of unions and the charge targeting of change when sci you think progress and you know the institutional players on the democratic side but you know it paid you bring up several things and that are you know are very interesting that there are potentially laws broken here i hunted in millions forgery mail and wire fraud activities in connection with computers and a letter from representative hank johnson said today things that are very much worthy of investigation and so you know it be interesting part about this is that huntington williams if they are investigating cannot claim attorney client privilege because all of the people in all the companies involved have said they were represented by hundred games. so does that mean that they will have to talk
10:39 pm
about. the other project too as well like i was saying the project with bank of america to go after wiki leaks or only the chamber of commerce story. well i don't think you're going to be investigated here. i mean who's going to investigate you in a seventy's we had a church commission it is frank church saw everything that happened you know with richard nixon and said we need to look into this and it was ordered by the strongest some of the strongest asked came in the wake of that there is no church commission today there is no it will and there's nobody who would do that will eventually these commission was supposed to study the financial meltdown and to date as we have heard in the oscars there's no place else you know no financial big wigs have gone to jail angeline is that what we did our job the justice department to do errors and that's not happening so i don't see you know i'm frankly skeptical that the justice department will do anything here but at a certain point you reach critical mass you know these these revelations he happened and it was done so casually in this presentation. you know department of
10:40 pm
defense or used against terrorists were planning they were planning to use against american citizens but you assume in the information age this these things will keep coming out in a certain point probably the public will demand it investigated now definitely are a lot of revelations coming out lately not only are you know the same tactics that are used against terrorist used against american people in american journalists now we have psyop teams using their tactics to perhaps manipulate american senators so nice to know what they're really up to i know that you and your team have been poring through these tens of thousands of e-mails that came out from the kerry so what else have you found out there that we should know about. it's a strange a it's kind of documents it's really a cross-section it's like somebody took a frozen section from a finger and is trying to trying to extrapolate what the rest of the body looks like but it's a it's a world that we never see that did this sort of conversations that members of the defense industrial complex have amongst themselves and they all sort of seem like
10:41 pm
a bunch of out of control children with just too much money at their disposal and they're you know plotting and planning all of the spy versus spy stuff amongst themselves and it's just it's kind of remarkable aaron barr the head of h.p. gary better all resigned yesterday i believe in order to try and salvage their the rest of the company but i don't think that anybody who reads through them will ever a look at these guys again they're not master spies these guys were the people who are in charge of national security and you know protecting computers i can believe that had some of their software installed at least for test purposes on the white house system and they were hacked by a sixteen year old girl who just you know got him to admit to it to get out there with a password is so i think we should be looking very skeptically at the way the defense department is running through money and if nothing else extremely skeptical of they claim that we need this all because of the threat of terror. and i thank you very
10:42 pm
much for joining us. thanks so much also accounts and so you have a facebook account we have some information about your privacy that you need to hear in just a moment and then economic terrorism was the wall street collapse in two thousand and eight and out of town or is it outside forces really weighed warfare against the u.s. financial system for against us all of that in just a moment. they tell marvin here broadcasting live from washington d.c. coming up today on the big picture. a new website with twenty four seven live streaming news towns like to do about it

hey guys welcome to show intel. we've heard our guests have to say on the topic now we want to hear audio just go on to you tube to video response or the twitter profile of the questions that we post on you tube every monday and on the first day of the show your responses to playboy. i've been out there can say goodbye to their privacy on facebook or at least what little is still left of it the world's most popular social networking site is about to sell you down the river to make a buck facebook says if they're moving forward the plan to give third party developers an external web site the ability to access facebook users home addresses and cell phone numbers that's right you heard facebook is now going to allow companies access to your address and your phone number all for
10:45 pm
a price and facebook made this new policy and also back in january by posting it on their developer blog but they very quickly suspended the feature just three days later following an outcry from users privacy experts and members of congress facebook says that there are again going to permit users to allow which information third parties are going to be able to access on their profile page which is just so nice of them the company also says that they're actively considering whether to restrict users under eighteen years of age from sharing their contact information with third party developers which i say is a good idea because obviously posting the phone numbers and addresses of children online sounds like a playground for pedophiles by the way facebook is about to piss off a lot users i think i understand your site is free you have to make money but giving out my cell phone number to anyone out there is just not acceptable well you may have close to six hundred million users worldwide start giving away those users private information and i think you might see that number start to drop. as the

u.k. gets ready to collect information for its latest nationwide census a few britons are becoming concerned after word got out that you has a defense contractor lockheed martin would be collecting the sensitive data about brits some people started to fear that people are going to be too discouraged to participate so could a threat for privacy keep this upcoming census from being affected archies lore and it has more. it's census time in the u.k. when every household in the country is asked to provide detailed information about their lives to the government so they can keep track of what's going on and who will be in charge of this sensitive data. yes it's controversial u.s. arms manufacture a lot he departed and campaigners ranging from religious groups to peace activists to data protection lobbyists really against it on ethical grounds they are going
10:47 pm
under of oppressive regimes they also. are us heavily in the wars they fought in iraq and afghanistan opposed by the majority of people in britain even if supported by the british government firstly it's worrying sense of spin given to such a company into their intelligence and surveillance wing which is not princes of brow but secondly many people. put it in writing in an activity which helps the profits of a company in gauged in things which most people in the country don't approve hill vows to boycott the census despite the risk of prosecution he says he won't be alone look he makes loved mines and nuclear weapons and contracts out interrogation they although it will be the u.k. all that carries out the survey there's still a worry that the information could fall under the auspices of the us patriot act which compels personal data held by any company on systems in the us to be made available to government intelligence the office but national statistics which
10:48 pm
gauged lockheed martin maintains its taken measures to make sure u.s. authorities can't access the data. all dance a process that will be carried out in the u.k. will leave will be held at any point outside the u.k. no lockheed martin staff will have access to any personal census data all data is the property of the and only u.k. you owned companies will have any access to personal data is it that last point that raise red flags for data protection lobbyists who say that all the private information collected says will be available to practically any organization that requests it any use on the any statute. but only if you spy the security or intelligence services for national security purposes any use for the pursuit of crime they may use in pursuit of an e.u. community organization so any e.u. rules that information can be passed over so it's essentially any government use
10:49 pm
whatsoever the competition has been abolished and u.k. government agencies don't exactly have a great track record when it comes to safeguarding information three years ago a file containing secrets terror related documents was left on a train more recently the national health service lost the medical records of tens of thousands of people thanks to lockheed martin's involvement in the census it would be hard for the u.s. authorities to lay their hands on that information if they wanted data from the census is used by the government grants to local councils and recognize new groups in society a sense is run by lockheed martin raises grave concerns in britain about ethics and international security if a lot of people boycott this that says it will make it ineffective and a waste of money but the two hundred forty million dollar contracts amount will go into looking at martins pocket anyway you're an authority that. by

now everyone thinks that they know what caused the economic crash in two thousand and eight all. at least everyone has an opinion on the government's financial crisis inquiry commission released a report last month that said that this crash was avoidable they blamed everything from poor government regulation to excessive risk taking and borrowing by households and wall street but what about outside forces terrorists or hostile nations who covertly waged economic warfare against the u.s. by using vulnerabilities in our financial system that's what a pentagon commission report by financial analyst kevin d. friedman concluded which the washington times managed to get their hands on now friedman claims that a three phase to tap was planned and is in fact still in the process against the u.s. economy the first face speculators bid up the price of oil filling the coffers of shari'a compliant sovereign wealth funds the second face bear rates took down our financial institutions and the third and yet the companies the dumping of treasury
10:51 pm
bonds now considering that nobody else has mentioned this in reports or in hearings in congress i think there's two ways of this either the theory is bogus or is friedman himself says in the report it's just something that nobody wants to talk about earlier from our studio in new york i caught up with peter schiff president of euro pacific capital so i first asked him if he buys the theory. i don't buy it i will think that terrorists are smart enough to pull it off but you know there were terrorists involved but they were at the federal reserve they were in congress they were the ones that were passing the laws and providing all the cheap money in the moral hazards this was a homegrown act of financial terrorism perpetrated by. of course our greenspan who first before him and you know all of our cars men and representatives who stacked the deck in a different actual class inevitable fact if anything foreigners temporarily helped us out it was all the bought buying of dollars in treasuries by foreign central
10:52 pm
banks that basically stopped the collapse from doing even worse of course ultimately they're going to. reverse course and we're going to have to pay for that but they bought us a lot of time by coming to our aid but is it crazy to think that perhaps at some point in the future there might be financial warfare or that perhaps you know other countries that own so many of our treasury bonds might start selling them off as you know friedman says here in the the third phase. but i don't think it's going to be an act of war it's going to be an act of self-preservation it's costing the world a fortune to buy up our treasuries you know this whole idea of a currency war but the object of a currency war is to inflict the most damage on your own citizens you know you don't want to win a currency war because you lose because the consequence is inflation and i think the world is going to ultimately stop buying our bonds and so dollars not because the truck they want to hurt us but because they're tired of hurting themselves but
10:53 pm
when they do that what they do is they they pull the rug out from under our phony economy that's when the dollar really collapses commodity prices consumer prices go through the roof for americans and we're going to be confronted with a really good mommy crisis that will make two thousand and eight look like a sunday school picnic. i can't wait for that one to happen now you know there has been some critique too as to why it is that the pentagon it was commissioning any type of scouting to be done on the financial crisis of two thousand and eight do you think that there is and i'll tear your motives here i mean some people have called this anti muslim the fact that they talk about you know terrorists in such a way. well it's just another waste of money you know the financial we already had one investigation into the cause of the financial crisis which was a complete charade they wasted millions of dollars they didn't do any legitimate research they didn't have any people like myself who actually predicted the crisis in advance they stacked the witnesses in the evidence it was all to try to justify
10:54 pm
a preconceived conclusion that we had a financial crisis because we didn't have enough government regulation and it was all a pretense so they can grow the government even larger they would be weren't concerned about the true cost of the crisis because if they were you know they didn't even need a commission they could get big couldn't talk to me i would have told them they could have bought one of my books for twenty dollars on amazon they wouldn't know why they had a financial crisis. that sounds like that would have been money better stanch there i miss carey it's yesterday we heard from a series of interviews about bernie made off calling from jail where he essentially like to spread a little blame said he couldn't believe like i can't believe that no one has been prosecuted yet for what happened but he also said that the whole government is a ponzi scheme what do you think about that. the other no you know he is the foremost authority he he perpetuated the greatest ponzi scheme in the history of the world so i think that qualifies him is probably the foremost authority on ponzi schemes and so while he has very little credibility in other areas this is the one
10:55 pm
area where he does have credibility and when the person who ran the biggest ponzi scheme in world history says the u.s. government is doing exactly what he did i think we ought to pay attention to that man i think maybe it makes a lot of people out there nervous to have ben bernanke he was testifying on capitol hill today in his discussing rising oil prices and said of course if you know that the rise in prices is sustained it could hurt the u.s. economic recovery he also talked about rising food prices rising commodity prices but as usual he kept telling the line that his quantitative easing two program had absolutely nothing to do with it what do you say. well i say that bernie made off as far more credibility in my mind than bed burnett akki you know i did take it easy has everything to do with the reason that commodity prices are rising is because the federal reserve and other central banks are printing money and so it's all the new money that's building up commodity prices in fact if you look at better
10:56 pm
g prices and you measure them in terms of things like gold and silver real money they're actually falling it's only and five currencies where you're seeing oil prices rise and of course oil prices are even rising more slowly than other commodity prices you call result for monetary policy but what i think is going to happen is i do think that other central banks are starting to acknowledge that inflation is a problem and they're trying to deal with the consequences of rising prices so i think the foreign central banks will ultimately start to raise rates some of them have already done that but they're going to raise rates more and they're going to pull back on their purchases of u.s. currency which means that we're not going to be able to export our inflation so easily to other countries it's going to stay here in the united states. we're going to have to deal with four more consequences of the inflation that ben bernanke is creating not only in food energy prices but it all prices and for some reason ben bernanke he doesn't think inflation is a problem unless it's reflected in the c.p.i.
10:57 pm
but remember that whole c.p.i. especially of core was reverse engineered to hide inflation you know back in the one nine hundred ninety s. under alan greenspan they redesigned the c.p.i. the goal was to make a number lower they said the c.p.i. was overstating inflation so they fixed that and so now the way they fixed it it's never going to show any inflation because that designed not to our peer i want to thank you very much for joining us and. ben bernanke he seems perhaps a little too confident in this case thanks. now before we go it's time for our treated a possible presidential candidate mike huckabee said to president obama's worldview is most certainly colored by where he grew up how could we then said that he grew up in kenya i mean how many times is this issue with roomfuls obama was born in the u.s. only lived overseas for a few years a child and it wasn't in kenya so tonight we think that obama should be please write in two thousand and twelve it's going to be easy to win against somebody that stupid and separate
