i see you again having me thanks for joining us do you really think that if all the c.e.o.'s went on strike the society would collapse i mean this is the basic promise of the book and movie i think in the alice our society yes and it did obviously i think. the modern world today is obviously very different so i don't know if this is starting to collapse but i think that the narrative that she sets up is very realistic. while if you have that produces this idea the ones that are supporting everyone at the bottom that are sort of accepting. the jobs are or you know you have you have the people at the top the c.e.o.'s the millionaires paying into the system and sort of supporting everyone at the bottom if you have all that taken away and they just shrug and they aren't producing anything their are not contributing to society and if you don't have anyone else pick up the slack no society is going ok so we've got you know health care for example stephen j. hensley runs the first five years in the job he took four hundred seventy seven million dollars before him for ten years to one point seven billion dollars are you

seriously telling me that if these two guys went away that there wouldn't be somebody who would step in and do the job for say. i you know that's a credit and. you know is that true of every i mean what if all five hundred of the c.e.o.'s of the fortune five hundred companies went on strike don't you think that there would be somebody in each one of those companies smart enough to step in take the job and probably do it for half of what they're being paid i don't know if they would do it for her or they're being paid for my experience people that you know accept a job from someone in front of them sort of demand the same case scale and this is sort of how the society works that's how dogs work that's how far you are you know at the c.e.o. level and it's not like competition it's like the old boy network because they get these pay committees on their board that they themselves appoint. it's sort of. in nature ok selfishness ok all right our bodies are our are for example you know

has studied this issue and found that four point six million tons of easy ways ends up in u.s. landfills every year releasing toxic chemicals into the air and the ground. either that or they get incinerated releasing even more toxic gases into the air but there's also another place where eat waste is going the third world developing nations in asia and africa are routinely recipients of thousands of tons of old computers cell phones with. these devices can add value of all but very poisonous minerals inside of them like cadmium lead and other rare earth minerals and their routinely cannibalized and sold on grain markets around the globe often killing local populations who don't realize the danger of the stuff they're working with sixty minutes that investigation into american eat waste overseas and found poor people playing in these landfills or even working in recycling operations with

a realist solomon in the real world i think rich nations quits at some point things above money and that's america we put up jobs anybody near the top we probably could see the kids getting cancer a cause that other countries who are poor put jobs in muddy to keep people from starvation above health for their citizens that's just the way the world. and so it's a pretty perfect situation where people in america build the items and then ship them overseas to people who need jobs or they would starve to death i think the people there will tell you they want the jobs they're very clear about that some day weekend you're gonna become a rich station they'll put health above those jobs and they'll build those plants that b.p. built but right now i think it's working for both sides of those people lose their jobs if there is demand for nuclear waste and people in india didn't know it was harmful would you feel comfortable selling it to block so what is your plan right now because she looks lance you've got the worst of the big stories of your cars

what regulations you go after. and the very very ugly gary johnson the former governor of new mexico announced he's running for president today to kick off a campaign he's stealing some really radical stuff i guess he's just trying to fit in with the feel in an interview with think progress johnson had this insight about the nullification. of peace initiatives are getting lunch no education is good for the shit is he getting people to become more aware as a result of the notification and the rates that state students have in the ability to. i think this is really a formula that it just gets back to the constitution. that really is the formula for writing of iraq. he also went after child labor laws saying they prevent kids from gaining his words and understanding of and earning money and providing a good or service. so this guy thinks that know if occasion which trickled the

triggered civil war is a great idea and laws to protect the exploitation of children is a bad idea he's obviously a bad choice for the country but a perfect choice for the republican party and that's frankly very very. governor governor scott walker the guy who threw the first pitch in this game by going after unions is stealing a page from michigan's governor rick snyder's playbook and try to pass legislation in wisconsin that would give him power to take over cities in his state but are struggling financially last week we learned that the city of benton harbor in michigan was taken over by one of governor snyder's financial managers or czars appointed by snyder to set up shop in a city fire all the elected officials break union contracts cut critical local

services and sell off huge chunks of the city's infrastructure to transnational corporations on top of that another one to snyder's financial planners is closing down eight schools in detroit and selling off another forty five schools to charter companies were c.e.o.'s can make millions off exploiting the education of our kids one of those schools being closed down is the catherine ferguson academy a school specifically designed to cater to pregnant and parenting teens and their children schools feature on oprah for having a ninety percent graduation rate and a one hundred percent college acceptance after graduation rate mind bogglingly impressive numbers it's not a good enough for the republican rick snyder and wants to shut it down. hearing what snyder is doing must have made scott walker jealous because he's trying to do the same thing now in wisconsin that back in two thousand and nine he admitted he was hell bent on eliminating local governments that he didn't agree with take

a look we believe if they don't they being the county board the state legislature or the governor don't give us the tools to ask for those major reforms it's probably time for us to seriously consider looking at the possibility of a limited county government and replacing it with something better that nobody replacing county with government was something better like a corporation so first walker goes after the unions at the behest of billionaires like the koch brothers and republican john k. sick in ohio and rick snyder in michigan follow suit busting up unions in their states then chris christie in new jersey starts flashing education funding to pay for enormous tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires and tax dodging corporations and sure enough walker case each snyder and rick scott in florida all proposed the same thing luckily the one thing that these republicans anticipated the one thing that made all these guys think they could get away with this grand

theft of our nation is not coming true and that one thing is they thought that we the people with the help of hours and hours of misinformation from fox news they thought that we the people would just roll over and take it and that's not happening for republican senators in wisconsin are being recalled and that's just the beginning walker himself could face recall at the start of next year an effort if it is a foot in michigan to recall governor snyder and america's progressive movement hasn't been this energized in generations these radical republicans have awoken the middle class in america the true believers in a small d. democratic system. and we're not going to let the nation for which we spent centuries dying and fighting to turn into some it is a couple hundred oligarchy with the help of some crony politicians and a few billion more in their swiss bank accounts as the old g.i.
