downfall it's a it's a massive scale of paranoia in my opinion the i think george will's most famous point about her was the main reason to not even consider sarah palin is nobody would trust her with nuclear weapons. is is that if that recognition sinking into the republican party. how can party in actually because i think the republican party itself is is now has to identify with the so far right that i think that the crazy i call it the outcome of the party and the time you know one of the goals whether it's now trumped up pops another one if you knock down huckabee up down payment up. michele bachmann you know it's one after the other and i don't think the crazy is necessarily exclude you from being their nominee and certainly not for being their vice presidential nominee or even potentially becoming the president of the united states case and play richard

ludicrous and sad thing is that you know one hundred years ago we had two million horses roaming the plains we're down to probably the last twenty eight thousand i mean america sit up and think this is your western culture do you not care what happens i immigrated here and i immigrated because i saw these incredible movies of john wayne of of cowboys indians who are horses and when i got here i didn't see any please don't let your western culture leave you ok you have no idea when you travel overseas people want to hear about our wild horses you know they they weren't around in japan with cowboy boots and the same thing in germany their nests . by our history we have a very sexy history and we please don't just lose our heritage and i'll go back to the roundups i think there are necessary there and i just purchased for the eco sanction it's in a foundation they just gathered the horses and it was the saddest thing i've ever

seen you know i would fly over there for months and i and i felt like this was family all these horses that that i knew and saw out there and right out of the round out so i went back and they weren't there anymore and the land was dead you know if you don't have life on the land. what is the be all there with the horses it is not alive what are the when they round up the sources what we do with them. well let me tell you what they do with them they warehouse these horses there are forty five thousand horses that are being warehoused and guess who's paying for them you all the taxpayers or your distant listeners out there they're spending seventy million dollars a year to warehouse these horses to round them up and warehouse them it seems you know there's a lot of notice of the twenty five thousand being warehoused and there's only twenty eight thousand left on the range that's close to extinction it's but it's pretty amazing the numbers there are

a lot of people in this country who are you know majorly into horses and own horses and ride horses and love horses and is is it that the government doesn't give these horses away because the horse traders the horse the people who's made a business of buying and selling horses lobby against it or is this is about a battle between the ranchers and the horse lovers of the west. i think the government would be lovely give them all away what would that would end up with most of them going to slaughter there are at least protected from that for now and you know the country is in trouble in two thousand and eight we think this country had a huge economic problem and nobody wants to adopt a horse right now they can't afford it so adoption really is not a big option so what is really we have a resource with these horses sorry what what would you do with them i mean. there are resources are what i would use them but would you. well i see them as

a huge resource and that's why i purchased this land in the eighteen and a half thousand acres with that i also purchased the grazing rights the allotments on the public lands and that's another five hundred sixty thousand acres i am asking the government to convert it from cattle grazing to horse grazing and i'd like to create a secret sanctuary so that you know your viewers could come with their families and visit and instead of going to the rain forest come to nevada come and see a wild horses what we can do for these children for these tourists to enjoy their western culture and try to create the seacoast sanctuary and guess what over the next twenty years we would save them one billion dollars i mean that's huge i suppose now that the country is broke and we deal in trillion suddenly a billion doesn't sound a lot but it is to a lot of people out there but what do you suggest to be yours here about the

somewhere we we don't know about that but we need to stop the taxpayer from having to pay for these now they have to pay for their obligated because the government moved federal horses and these belong to the people and they are now or they're fiscally responsible for looking after them and morally for the rest of their lives remember this when they gather all horse and that marries and saw her baby is born in captivity that of course is life is expectancy is another fifteen to twenty years longer than it would have been on the range so not only have have you gathered these horses but you've now extended the cost for another fifteen to twenty years they've got fifteen thousand of these horses and short term holding that's twenty five hundred dollars a year per horse that you pay for i presented to the that i take those horses and i would take them at five hundred dollars a year as opposed to twenty five hundred dollars a year. and so the stories come out because you can't take that money on that land

that's correct i have been i've been in many meetings with them and i said if you give me the green light let's start this with the project that i have right now and allow me to buy more land but i don't want to go out and buy more land until i have the commitment from the government i don't want to be around sure yeah well and thank you thank you very much for sharing your story and for your advocacy for those. thank you for helping us my pleasure after our break a daily take on why anything goes in america without consequences and i mean anything.

their crimes going on book tours and a case of attorney john you know teaching law and jay bybee rewarded by bush with a lifetime seat on the ninth circuit court one step below the supreme court not only that there are thousands of banks toure's on wall street who stole trillions of dollars from us and ruined the lives of billions of people around the world with their theft from global financial markets damage done as a result of in many cases premeditated fraud but they still sit in their corner offices on wall street still making their millions in bonuses and have yet to even catch a whiff of the rule of law in america. elsewhere around america you have big energy c.e.o.'s who have the blood of countless men on their hands as a result of exploding oil rigs and collapsing coal mines as well as thousands of cancers and billions of dollars in environmental destruction on their watch yet not one is facing criminal charges for the nectarines and all overt high crimes are

being carried out by america's rich and powerful without consequence nixon's war on drugs continues to throw hundreds of thousands of working class and poor americans in prison for nonviolent and petty crimes like smoking pot america has the highest rate of incarceration in the developed world thanks to nixon's drug war a war on drugs and now one of these inmates hails from the bush administration or from goldman sachs or from b.p. you see a double standard here still fifty bucks in candy bars of a seven eleven walked in jail steal fifty million bucks from public pensions on wall street fair here's a bailout it appears as though our rule of law breaks down once you pass the six zero in the law breakers bank account but it's not just this tale of two justice systems it's weighing down on the rule of law in america it's our foreign

policy strategy to our current war in libya is raging for more than two months now without legal authority we're targeting a u.s. citizen for assassination without trial were routinely violating the fourth amendment with wireless wire taps at warrantless wiretaps and cyber snooping and were holding detainees and get well without due process of law not to mention the nonexistent legal basis for the slew of secret detention facilities around the world to which we outsource our torture. our government officials and policymakers have found a cozy spot far away from the reaches of our justice system to legislate foreign policy and they found that spot because a decade of policies by george w. bush have sufficiently neutered our justice system when it comes to prosecuting political big wigs and corporate bigwigs if you're the right person then anything goes in america today so while the crimes mount and our politicians and c.e.o.'s don their immunity badges the rest of america is going to head to head against
