right so for the last two weeks of nonstop wiener fever i've been bashing the media as you well know over the over the top incessant coverage that's blocked out every other story and i so fully stand by every single statement that i've made but the thing is it's not like we are a gate in itself is some singular phenomenon we see this happen all the time it almost seems like politicians and sex scandals become synonymous with larry craig david bitters eliot spitzer as anthony weiner is dominique strauss kahn is of the world too of course everyone's favorite cheater. i want you to listen and i'm going to say this is the. idea. of sexual relations with that woman miss lewinsky. i never told anybody to lie not a single time there were these allegations for fall and i need to go back to work for the america. so what is it about men in powerful positions that makes them do

walked into that room. people so the lines of twenty one year olds to talk to him chatting me up and i wrote a sort of controversial story covering these female in terms on the hill and in all honesty they enable leigh's male politicians to behave like this. man petitions wouldn't be able to do this if they weren't women agreeing to it and i think you know it there i think your point there regular me off for a second in the sense that yes you know people obviously women young women especially you find themselves attracted to this kind of power to men that are in powerful positions no matter what they look like especially in this town but what do you think it is about the men that specifically often they will just keep lying about it like the anthony wiener in the bill clinton's they'll go on camera and a lie about it they don't think they're going to get caught do they have some kind of a god complex or do you just get stupider as you go along and i have power that you

get you know there's more risk taking involved you've written about why the street to you in this culture yes but i think we'll see and washington are similar and one respect that they're both bubbles washington has its own culture and so i think the higher that you write in washington or in will streatch the more cut off from reality you get and so in d.c. along those corridors and so i carefully and you know are far more forward than they would be on the street in new york they look you up it you down they say what are you doing for lunch i mean it's happened to me many times and i sort of circle it and they say oh senator whatever and. you can't believe the risks that they're taking but they you know the bubble i think they just complete. he lost touch with reality that is why in the end most of them have to go it's not because of the sexes because they have absolutely no idea what the people who elected them are

actually thinking and why do you think. the same thing with women granted of course there are fewer female politicians in high ranking positions but you don't hear about women same thing. you don't and you know what i remember i never forget a credit for all diana davis who was one of the entire and she was twenty one year old and had on the hill when i did my piece ten years ago saying to me that she was very busy networking with older man and she ended up get it going missing a lot of important senators and lobbyists and. congressman but she didn't go there with the women she said no that will about work. kind of whole i thought of. you know the women work it's one of the reasons why you know i think that it's really tough to succeed as a as a woman and part of the experience actually you have to act a bit yeah there's

paragraph line of paragraph that tried to explain why legally the president didn't need congressional approval to involve us into a war unilaterally and that's where the whole thing just got ugly. see their justification is that our involvement does not include the types of hostilities included in the war powers act because we don't have troops on the ground because we're not involved in sustained active exchanges of fire with hostile forces well guess what for starters the war of ours act doesn't differentiate between boots on the ground and firing more than one hundred tomahawk missiles which if you remember we the us did in the first few days of his war i mean humanitarian intervention you know to try to pretend like you can apply semantics to what's clearly a sustained bombing campaign against moammar gadhafi forces that's a slap in the face the american people know what's going on they also should know that within a couple of weeks the total cost of humanitarian lee intervening in libya is going to be one billion dollars it should also just be

a laughable it is laughable that the administration repeatedly tries to claim within this report that we're soley involved in libya in a limited role and really nato is the one taking the lead well guess what in that exact same report they detail how the entire campaign would fall apart without us because the u.s. is nato but perhaps most frustrating most disturbing is that well they're just trying to play games now but the fact that the former constitutional law professor is trying to bend the law to its will that's not a control we let's face it this war was illegal from the start if you want to bring in the war powers act because there was no imminent threat to the united states because it has nothing to do with us so it doesn't matter how many days you count how many ways you twist your words it's a legal plain and simple unless it goes to the courts and they decide otherwise but in the meantime just spare me the condescension this war is illegal and you know it so just go plead your case to congress if you want to the pruett or congress voting against it if you want to end somebody do something so we can start having

the last really this is something that's right netroots nation is going on right now and russ feingold who is no longer. excuse me a set of their lost last time around because he didn't want to join into all of the corporate funding that we saw happen after citizens united ruling by the supreme court and this time around i mean we've covered this story on the show tonight we've seen already a lot of these organizations on the left wing also have these nice flowery names that are getting some of them for some reason they're not coming to my head right now but basically they take money from undisclosed donors and you have no idea where the money's coming from so it's like if you can't fight just you know join up but russ feingold is trying to fight back let's think of ways that. really goes kind of super pacs for democrats is wrong it is not something we should do i disagree luser sure when it comes to the you should. what gutter message

i think it's not just wrong i think it's a dumb scritch. you know i think we've already. like i said joined the club but do you think feingold has any chance of still reminding people of the one who the person has every right to maximize his chance of winning if maximizing your chance of winning means latching on to this law that democrats don't agree with nor to maximize the amount of amount of money that you're getting did not make sense on the other hand you can't have your cake and eat it too you can't have people going straight in saying citizens are citizens united is not constitutional but at the same time we're going to use it in order to get this this is the thing i agree with feingold completely i think that you people can't say you're fighting an ongoing battle so it's not worth fighting i think that if you believe in something it's worth fighting for and just because people don't think that you can succeed doesn't mean that you shouldn't fight for it ask your water fortunately there's just not that many people that are fighting along with you guys thanks so much for joining me tonight have a good weekend and that's it for tonight so thanks for tuning in to the come back
