these are the images go and seeing from the streets of canada. china operations are the day. oh and marvin in washington d.c. and here's what's coming up tonight on the big picture u.s. supreme court justice clarence thomas is caught once again except in money and favors from right wingers with deep pockets because justice is caught in an ethical behaviors have been forced to drop the gavel so what makes thomas any different meanwhile republican presidential candidate michele bachmann has created the grand old plan to balance the budget placing the bulk of income taxes on the poor volman ating all taxes on the super rich and it's official america can no longer stand on
11:01 pm
its own two feet how and why foreign money is gobbling up our nation. you need to know this in are more reasons why supreme court justice clarence thomas should be impeached news air times reported last week the justice thomas is actually except being generous favors from right wing millionaire arlen crowe of trammell crow construction fame and fortune along with giving millions of dollars to the republican party and right wing groups like swift boat veterans for truth arlen crow has also lavish justice thomas with tens of thousands of dollars in gifts including a fifteen thousand dollar bible that once belonged to frederick douglas crowe also got justice thomas' wife half million dollar check so that she could start her very
11:02 pm
own tea party lobby group for him dedicated to repealing obamacare a case by the way that her husband will likely decide when the supreme court determines the constitutionality of the health reform law in coming months so. we can now add this misdeed to the laundry list of bad behavior by justice thomas from unofficial fundraising to not disclosing his wife's right wing income to obvious conflicts of interest on the bench all of which are clear violations of the federal code of conduct for judges and problem is the justices on the supreme court have exempted themselves and themselves alone from that code of conduct presidents can and have been impeached members of congress can and have been expelled for bad behavior and the constitution the united states says quote the judge's show hold their office during good behavior behavior by the way capitalized and quote so is
11:03 pm
it time for we the people to enforce the constitution and have the supreme court as answerable for bad behavior as are the president and congress should we encourage congress to begin for seedings for impeachment of justice clarence thomas here offer his take on that question is conservative commentator t.j. mccormack t.j. welcome back. thank you man good to see again tom good to see you this is t.j. this is abe fortas all over again this has nothing to do with race ford has resigned over taking a twenty thousand dollars he was on the supreme court to get just like it exact same position as thomas as took a twenty thousand dollars gift from a guy who was going to bring business before the court thomas and his wife have taken over a half million dollars from several parties who have bad currently have and will have business before the court this is plain blatant corruption and just like aid for this town a should resign right well no i mean aid for this was put on a twenty thousand dollars a year retainer an actual cash retainer by an individual
11:04 pm
that's that's not happened here how many years has this been taking money from right wing guys like that or are they going to die if she just does ginni thomas the i don't like your little throw away there this has nothing to do with race if anything poor clarence is guilty of one thing and that is seen to be conservative while black. the left has been the left the knoll i'm serious the left has been you . mean there's a why if a white guy took money from and gifts from his wife took millions of dollars over time from. say george soros associated groups you would not be saying that that person should not be on the supreme court. what i'm saying is are you that the left has this i'm saying is that this man has not come up the way the left likes to see black people come up that this man is unfortunately a conservative and that is not the kind of black man that the left likes teaching which you are the strain exclusively for yourself not for me are you trying to is
11:05 pm
are you trying to tell me that if sonia sotomayor as husband. had taken over a million dollars from from george soros funded programs and she herself had taken it taking gifts from groups that were say from unions that we're going to have business in front of the supreme court that that you'd be just fine with that. actually i know i don't know if i'd be fine with that but i but it would be the it's the law of the land or why are you saying this has nothing to do with race why shouldn't the supreme court say it here say the same thing i said i mean there's a judicial conduct they require lower judges. from federal judges all the way down to a justice of the peace to adhere to what i what i'm what i'm saying is and i made i kind of went off the subject but i had to address the one little thing for throwaway line that is that it has nothing to do with race it was i don't think i've gotten in there and i don't know what i think clarence thomas is everything about race and i think i think he stands for one of the caucus season of the i think he stands one of the hypocrisy of the left which is there are the then and in
11:06 pm
the n.w. c.p. is all for the advancement of colored people as long as they're liberal colored people and i'm using colored people that's their term that c.p.s. . let me let me let me i'll you're the host and forgive me i'm going to get back to what you were asking me for this was a different situation in my opinion and i believe the facts are there and i heard a lot of this in this into this entire thing surely isn't very fun so here i spent this much money. in one thousand nine hundred sixty six dollars i'm sure tony grandma gave me that idea to maybe it was maybe it was half as much in dollars for as always sat on the bench for five years sixty six and sixty nine maybe four years whatever the math is and you know he he stepped down because it was obvious that there was a conflict of interest there there's obviously the british he you know he took cash and from a guy who was going to have a business did he wear the court. right and look and i'll say this and if somebody
11:07 pm
has some actual hands in a pot where they have actually got a look you can't just talk about somebodies ideology or smoking a speech at a foundation and that hand your politics that that collide because that because then nobody would be in every judge should be recusing themselves from every single thing that you know every judge we have a job he doesn't do this kind of thing t.j. we're going to leave this long for every judge in america to do what clarence thomas doing all of us and everyone who murdered kings who are a lot who said that they can set themselves up and they don't have to stand by that by the constitutional standard of good behavior they can you want to be above you know if this goes. yes exactly what they said about a belief that they don't have to follow the rules that's wrong and and it's and you know what the but the but unfortunately as we sit here right now for it is the law of the land that is the case you know i got a good grade on b. income being totally intellectually honest i find it very interesting because in my little bit of research i didn't come across that part and it did lightning to me
11:08 pm
that you talk about what it says in the is that in the constitution yes article three section one of the first sentence facial surgery i'm sorry good i hate you and they capitalized on my behavior i mean listen meaning that it's interesting to me watch things when they were important and that's interesting to me that's very very interesting to me and i'm going to take it it's very hard to hear you well you know what's worse tweeting a porno picture yourself to a friend on twitter or displaying clear bias and taking money from you know from from people who have business before the court works wonders. i well i think that is i think is just i think there is a difference i think i think one is one actually happened and by the way to the movies it is you know a lot of this is still very on substantiated a lot of this comes with the language of allegedly and he has admitted that every gate he violated not only judicial conduct but arguably even you know was having to
11:09 pm
do with with disclosure in government by not disclosing that he would write it i corrected it was taking her he corrected it after he'd been caught and called out on it this is this is you know i had to do the airways madness is worse ah well you know like hey listen you know a couple of months ago actually i we did an extension for our taxes and my wife and i did send in our extension we sent in our money to a secretary of the treasury who is a darn chant tax cheat him self we are a country of contradictions on terror and he can hear it you know. call feel he's not a bit of of mr geithner and we think that he has behaved badly. on my god we didn't want to be in the first place we call for him to how can you lose your contact your members of the house and senate because that's actually the senate is where the impeachment action the house is where the impeachment has to originate and you say it's time to impeach you want to impeach tim geitner that's fine with me i may even support i'd like to see that justice done as. anyhow t.j. we're out of time thanks so much for being with us too jamie thank you that's an
11:10 pm
interesting point about the content of the constitution that was really cool read article three section one the remarkable thing about this story is that clarence thomas is doing on the bench is far worse there were other justices have been forced to resign for doing case and it just was just like clarence thomas on the supreme court just like clarence thomas he was actually nominated by a democrat by lyndon johnson. uncovered the forrest received fifteen thousand dollars from american university to lead seminars sort of like thomas taking speaking fees and another twenty thousand dollars from a law firm for consulting services sort of like thomas' wife taking a half million but for his was forced to resign or he chose to resign he wasn't forced but as for clarence thomas has received similar gifts from wealthy republican donors like arlen crow and even presided over cases that his gift givers have a personal stake in justice thomas' refugee refusing to budge looks like the same
11:11 pm
court that brought us citizens united and recently ruled the people can't band together to sue corporations is now officially the best clerk money can buy. it. is time for a daily poll your chance to tell us what you think here's today's question two point five feet two and a half feet stood between a brass coons and the potential for a fukushima like nuclear disaster did you hear about this on mainstream news your choices are yes or no. so let us know what you think the cold be up until tomorrow. crazy alert all likely suspects arizona suffering from the state's largest wildfire in history a fire that scorched after million acres five hundred thousand acres in northern arizona so what does that great state senator senator mccain think is the reason
11:12 pm
behind his mammoth fire in his own state here's a hint it's not global warming here is a press conference over the weekend where those who have consumed the super where it's not on the border where there is substantial evidence that some of these fires because we would cross our border we're going. to set fires because what they're so you know there's always some writers who keep one and they are upset writers in order to run for someone. who. can seize. them so we want to do that for the problems that are secure. if we just secure the border our wildfires will be distinguished extinguished so even though historic wildfires are burning all over the planet because of climate change the wildfires in arizona are from illegal immigration will someone please tell john
11:13 pm
mccain he's not running for office anymore and therefore doesn't have to try to out crazy the tea party challenger well that's right he does still like those lobbyists fossil fuel industry. coming up michele bachmann has introduced a tax plan which benefits two groups if you are thinking a lower middle class think again about the rich and the filthy rich. with twenty four seven live streaming newscasts what to do about the ongoing financial hurricane unlimited free high quality videos for download. and stories you never find on mainstream news. from the get go so. the political. person more aren't done much to say.
11:14 pm
but oh if she's running for president it was only a matter of time before congresswoman michele bachmann introduced her new text tax plan and like tim collins he's talked tax scheme bachman's puts the bush tax cuts on steroids in order to pay for even more tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires bachmann wants to raise taxes on the working families especially people in poverty arguing that everyone in america should be paying their fair
11:15 pm
share of taxes even those in total who are disabled that is everyone except billionaires who make their money sitting on their butts. by the pool collecting dividend checks bachmann thinks these people shouldn't have to pay any taxes so she's proposing a limiting capital gains taxes altogether which are already only fifteen percent far lower than what a janitor might say bachmann's plan would free twenty three thousand millionaires and billionaires from having to pay any taxes in america and at the same time she would raise taxes on two hundred fifty thousand low income people all in all bachmann's tax scheme would add another twenty five billion dollars to the debt every single year so i suppose the price a small price for republicans to pay to make sure the campaign contributions from america's richest all of guards keep flowing to their party right now for more on the carrot congresswoman's tax plan tailored for millionaires and billionaires i'm joined by federal tax practitioner and conservative commentator david selling david
11:16 pm
welcome back. thanks for having me tom i've been catching a lot of flack from some other conservative commentators but i believe in spirit the discourse so well is go. thank you first of all do you support michele bachmann's tax plan. in part i don't think her proposal at this point goes nearly far enough for instance the corporate tax rate in the united states has to be lowered if we lower the corporate tax rate you will see a resurgence of employment and opportunity and our neighborhoods will thrive and bustle again but we have to tether this to something to offset the perspective costs and what we need to do is say let's say a corporation will only have to pay eighteen to twenty percent in corporate taxes right now they're all have right now they're only seven percent on average well
11:17 pm
know that that is a distorted distortion if you actually look at the tax rates i'm talking about however if i were to exxon here general electric pay in taxes last year well that's a really complicated issue here oh and i don't see them building factories around the united states do you well i'd like to address the issue that you brought up because you were the one who actually motivated me to pursue this road when you told me that we don't have an illegal alien problem in america we have an employer problem and i agree what i would say is corporations should be entitled to take eighteen to twenty percent top corporate tax rate however if they employ any legal allien someone who is in this country illegally that rate should rise to seventy five percent when i see what c.e.o.'s here jail if they may realize david. well that's that's an fully address the issue i mean you know this we have these guys running around going out put these illegals in jail you know throw them in a lie and they're doing it and show it sheriff joe arpaio and you wear pink
11:18 pm
underwear and all these weird stuff nobody is going after c.e.o.'s but that's that need a little more of a whole completely different tangent here david i'd like to go back home shall bachmann's plan to you know michele bachmann says you know forty seven percent of americans who work don't pay federal income taxes because they make so little money that they're in poverty and she says everybody should pay federal income taxes if you support her plan why do you hate poor people well it's not that i think what she's saying is if you look at the earned income credit it's an absolute scam that is rife with fraud you have these individuals who are winding down there are just the gross income and getting back tremendous checks from the federal government. and they are anonymous anonymously on the dole and they're costing us plenty giving back to the illegal alien is showing that you're exactly just once a year deal year to year trying to sell me but it's going you know we could do with dalian some other time but you're trying to tell me that somebody who's working as a greeter at walmart make an eight thousand bucks
11:19 pm
a year is sophisticated enough to to to scam the internal revenue service oh yes sir there is an entire industry about this but it is millionaires and billionaires are not the area. well no i don't think that's the case the millionaires and billionaires as you like to refer to them pay a disproportionate amount of taxes compared to these working individuals that you're champion and. the fact of the mess that i'm is if you work the work individuals are paying a higher percentage of their total income and then people who make over a million dollars here us. but they're paying so little and at the end of the year they actually get back more from the are looking at their they know here's a few hundred percent of their income is being taxed for fica so you've got you know six and a half percent there you've got one hundred percent of their income they're paying sales taxes on because they're spending every penny that they get that's not true if we're going to tell you know everybody has to pay sales tax i'm certainly not true david i know this is well as i do of somebody or inspired hundred million dollars a year on their lifestyle they only spent twenty million dollars on their lifestyle
11:20 pm
and they put the other for four hundred eighty million dollars a year in the bank or a swiss bank account or invested there only paying sales tax on that twenty million and people who are struggling pay sales tax on one hundred percent of their income and people who live in the investor class don't like to pay it on a very small area i don't think that really addresses the issue well it is when you add up all the tag an individual well wait a minute that's exactly right if a person gets back more than they pay in they're not really a taxpayer are they well they they are paying a whole variety of taxes if you look at people who are making under cory thousand dollars a year and you add up all the taxes and fees that they pay through the course of the year as and then call that their tax bracket and compare that with somebody making over a million dollars in the united states and add it all up what you will find and the center for american progress do the math on this it's no secret you can find a way to admit it but you know what it is so you apparent math is ok their math is wrong is that working day i and i are going to go in taxes than then millionaires
11:21 pm
and billionaires. nonsense because you're omitting what they're getting back at the end of the year in these refundable cross-talk i think notably here in damascus now it is omitted from that figure and this is a very skewed assessment what they've put forward so why don't ok let's do away with the earned income tax credit ben and simply raise the minimum wage from what it is the united states around seven bucks to what it is say in denmark of around eight hundred dollars an hour ok then let's make sure that everybody's antony's can hire illegals who will undercut the individual who's working for the minimum wage that's the person i'm concerned with why should an american have to work for less than minimum wage when you have an illegal coming in and taking the job considerably less that's the conversation we need to have ok it will david we can have that conversation another time and research i guess you will now and like i said you know throws and c.e.o.'s in prison and i have a feeling you'll see
11:22 pm
a huge exodus toward the southern border but david thanks for being with us. thank you tom and thank you to your viewing audience i really appreciate it you're welcome ever since ronald reagan passed the ultimate tax cut for millionaires and billionaires dropping their income top income tax rate from seventy percent out of twenty eight percent the wealth inequality in america has exploded reagan's tax policy has been carried on by every single president since it was increased slightly under president clinton to thirty nine percent before george w. bush drops back down to thirty five percent as a result our nation's wealth inequality is higher than it's ever been since right before the stock market crash of nineteen twenty nine and we all know what happened that. he white house council of economic advisers released a report today bragging that foreign investment the united states increased forty nine percent last year as in more and more foreign business tycoons are buying up american industries and infrastructure i guess economic recovery is no longer an
11:23 pm
american enterprise most of the money buying out america is coming from canada japan and europe in total more than one hundred ninety four billion dollars just last year it appears that free trade and the rise of wall street power has crippled our economy so badly that the only way we can now survive as a foreign nations and build their factories here and take their profits. but president obama things are becoming a colony for other countries is a good thing as he said the statement today quote promoting foreign investment is an important opportunity to accelerate our economic recovery and quote is that really the case is it a good thing that our nation is now rely on foreign investors for more on this i'm joined by neil asked for a host of the florida radio talk show truth for america and author of the book conscientious equality we'll welcome. thank you you know since reagan took office over two and a half trillion dollars about a fifth of our economy has been bought out by foreign investors are you concerned
11:24 pm
that our economic sovereignty is being chipped away. oh absolutely not you know i was living in japan in one nine hundred eighty s. during the reagan time and i remember back then i was selling american products in japan one of the few people doing that if i remember that we were all trying to turn ourselves into japanese were buying japanese management books we also look at the way of the future when through tokyo that we all had to be more like japanese we had to run our companies as if we were japanese the japanese were in america they were buying pebble beach they were buying rockefeller center you know they were buying the being goes into picasso's and guess what japan full of that they could manipulate as what they still own it hits and they found out that they could not in a bubble burst and they've been cooling going to build these ever since so if they want to invest in america god bless them you know the same thing's going to happen to china you know china thinks it can manipulate the world markets and they're going to meet a similar fate as japan did in the one nine hundred eighty s.
11:25 pm
but in the meantime appear here investing their money creating jobs we should welcome them. just like you know hundreds should have welcomed us when we had pineapple some bananas being grown down there and we own the land in the workers work for us all the possibilities good analogy i mean you know we as we have you just meal we have thirty's let me let me set this point up because i'd love to hear your take your plea has as you know and i think we probably both agree this is a problem we have an eight hundred billion dollars in a varies by one hundred more or less every year but roughly eight hundred billion dollars your trade deficit and the words we buy eight hundred billion dollars a year more from the rest of the world than they consult then then we sell to them their result of that is that other countries end up with eight hundred extra billion dollars and the only thing that they can do with that money since it's dollars is buy our companies our land and our factories so now we're in a situation where our salary according to histories are ninety seven percent foreign owned are metal or mining is sixty five percent foreign owned or book
11:26 pm
publishing sixty three percent are cement industry lime gypsum products sixty two percent and turbans and transmission equipment. fifty seven percent foreign owned manufacturing in general fifty three percent foreign own plastics fifty two percent insurance fifty one percent glass products forty eight percent kolbein forty eight percent advertising forty one percent pharmaceuticals forty percent foreign owned all of the profits from all of those industries are going overseas all we get are the paychecks we don't get the profits and we're losing it we're losing our economic sovereignty. well tom the bigger problem the bigger problem for me is not that they're investing their money in industries in america it's that they're buying our debt you know they're buying our debt and they're providing this road to us that we're addicted and that's the bigger problem but let's talk a minute about why do we have this deficit in two thousand and eight i was the united states national champion export of the year i do business in more than one hundred countries the problem is that we don't have access to foreign markets in
11:27 pm
the same way that these manufacturers have access to our market right because we have brought into the insanity of life we're in trailing to them the things that we could be selling them the united states is a duty free market place in i think we need to understand that is that we need the same access to foreign markets as they have to our market yeah well. neal i'm i'm with you on that and and here's here's my concern is that this whole religion of free trade we used to have this idea and every country in the world pretty much did of a membrane around the country an economic membrane that we would do what was economically best for us other countries would do is economically best for them and henry the seventh in the in the in the fifteen hundreds came with a tutor plan alexander hamilton imitated that in seven hundred ninety one with his report on manufacturers which was ratified by congress in large part in seven hundred ninety three and stood as law until bill clinton finally tore it down by signing the deputy at by the general green on tariffs and trade in your great gray
11:28 pm
round and and nafta this has this is now ripping apart our country and that and as you point out the countries we're trading with they're protecting germany's protecting our economy china's protecting their economy we're not are we crazy. so the solution is not to put our head in the sand i mean the global marketplace is here the solution is given all reason there to hooters the same access the same access the foreign manufacturers have toward market you know in there are exports would skyrocket if i had access to the china market like china has to our market our exports would skyrocket why should we be an extra workers an economy neal we've never in a historically our economy is more we've never had more than three or four percent of our economy based on exports no the it because tom that's not true i mean our economy using based on where you build things here now it's based on imports look at me and would you like fries with absolutely and we could be that again and we could be there begin and i know we can all get american manufacturers back to the tariff you just had access if we just had access to foreign markets like they have
11:29 pm
the art market you know we're a duty free country give me that seem access they're not going to do it they aren't there starter than that but they will do it because holding well mostly control the if they're in the laws so you could have ministration and they're not doing it we're allowing every despite in the world having free access to the american mortgage and wishes should not standing up for our own if i. were out of time will i will have to leave it on that very close to i think agreement neil thanks a lot for being with us tom thanks for having me even though our nation is painfully reliant on foreign investment to function president obama is not ditching his montreaux free trade white house announced plans to send even more free trade agreements to congress this year including colombia and panamanian and korean free trade agreements welcome to the banana republic of the united states rapidly becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of germany spain and china.
