security council members who are interested for the body to release concise documents to the international law does not need to put up with ambiguity meanwhile representatives of the african union have already spoken out about this saying that they are afraid of proliferation they fear that those guns make end up in the hands of terrorists and that's going to be a threat to the entire region russia's envoy to nato has said at a press conference in moscow that he fears that the only ground operation is just around the corner and that a patient is only going to prolong this conflict and worsen the situation in the whole region in general meanwhile when it comes to syria that's the foreign ministers are not quite on the scene between guarding that uprising moscow's stands for and against a u.n. security council resolution to which syria while france has been going on with the council to take action more still believes that only a political solution to this crisis is possible and as for mr lovelock has set out

secretary of state has announced that washington has been in contact with egypt's muslim brotherhood the move was welcomed by the country's largest islamic group which has a strong following in egypt but was bound to the rule of ousted president hosni mubarak while the brotherhood says it's planning to stand in parliament two elections scheduled for september let's get more on this now by crossing light international relations professor mentees ankara for us many thanks for being with us have the know what business do you think the u.s. has in contacting the muslim brotherhood. well i think they recognize that it's national the best organized group in this post all right situation and so if you still actions go ahead in september the likelihood is that it will be if not majority party. and it's also with the americans distancing themselves from the support for many decades of barak and his so. precedent that those who are now

fairly negative very negatively by many egyptians absolute miracles want to say it's nothing to do with ours or we're talking before february of this year but this does mark a slight change of america's interest in egypt has been limited space travel agents say why the change in approach now the thing well in one sense does change attack although we have to remember that the americans and the british before them saw the muslim brotherhood as a useful potential ally against an arab nationalism against anti west arab nationalism of the sort and originally president sadat represented to egypt more recently they have been looking at the arab spring to the collapse will be a threat to various arab dictatorial regimes some former allies like with barak music others enemies like assad in syria and they see the muslim brotherhood which is an underground organization of all of these countries as a potential bill for full control of the ball somebody they have to deal with the
9:22 am
big question for the american so is. really going to be the dominant part of the muslim brotherhood. is after all. a mass. thank you although there has been a deal with sunni fundamentalist groups like in saudi arabia for many years quite happily is always a problem when that comes to dealing with muslim brotherhoods will detail with me and work with all the will be americans able to find a way of living with the brotherhood with the threats to its ally israel well let's look forward now we know that the brotherhood is planning to stand up parliamentary elections scheduled for september but do you think that there's any doubt the tool that the current interim government might hold on to power in egypt. well there is always a chance that situation could change just because of armor on the streets in rioting in the square recent was a great moment destroy egypt the government will say i'm. right actions we have to

the president already introduced here where the government pushed the election. or maybe the same sort of thing much of an egypt but then the danger is that discontent with the pace of change since the fall of mubarak could explode if people feel that the generals who really run the government or heard that watch and spin out the controller will say not to introduce real democracy while on that we see more violence on the streets of egypt haven't we with that people not happy with the pace of reforms that what do you think is needed to help egypt deal with the same thing political climates. egypt has huge problems and of course the revolution in itself is one of them ironic because the. answer to sort of really dampened to be enthusiasm of tourists to go that it could the tourist season in the winter which the footsore suicide that people are worried about. other economic problems rising price of food also so there's
9:24 am
a big problem and the problem is for the americans they don't have the kind of money if you like a real marshall plan to egypt to promise that a country of eighty million people need order to have a significant effect on the standard of living to really get a boost economy or subtree resources the president doesn't have a very long lead a on your own experience now what hall do you see egypt following in the theat sound. i think it's very very difficult to predict there are several plausible parts one is that some horrible the actions will be held and some kind of constitutional democratic system will uphold the other but a pretty clique will support it in some way it's more likely it is precisely because of social and economic hopelessness who believe it to be very difficult to get stable progress in over them a future then the question is will the generals try to hold on to power or will some group of radicals come to power who replaces them and this is again the dilemma for the united states. because many people in the elites in egypt may want
9:25 am
to have policies that the american simple wise and sensible but there are tens of millions of people for whom those policies probably don't really make much sense and also on the ability of israel for american politicians devotions of egypt of course all very hostile to mubarak and his peace process with israel people who don't want war with israel but they want to distance themselves from it so again that makes it difficult for the american government to say to the congress which has a lot of grocery lobbyists help has to give a lot of money to egypt if the egyptian population is saying we are much less sympathetic to israel we'd like to be helpful to have us in the gaza strip ok mark almond it's national relations professor science is speaking to us live from ankara thank you. again story also making headlines around the world this hour on the sexual assault case against dominique strauss kahn could be dropped as police admit credibility issues with his alleged victim they tell maids you claim to have been

hello and a very warm welcome to a business update russia has lifted the year long grain export ban imposed after heat wave devastated one third of the country's crops ban caused world with prices to rise to their highest level for two years but optimistic harvest forecasts have prompted russia to return to the global grain market to discuss the market reaction i'm joined by allison like a from the financial services company world's brights mr mccain thank you for joining us so. russian grahame's back to the international market while russian wheat exports now flood the market and mark the end of the bull market and will prices fall now. evening thanks for having me well i think grain of wheat like any product is affected by supply and demand and with the increase in supply that russia is lifting of the bad world we should see
9:28 am
a softening in the prices globally of most of these crops however it should be pointed out that the major overriding factor is really still crop figures globally weather conditions as well. those will be the points that are really moved the prices underlying. but do you think this influx will be enough to contain global price growth or is the international shortage still inevitable what do you think. i think short the extra supply will help to cool the price in the crops it will probably make them drift a little bit lower this isn't a complete surprise the markets have been anticipating this for a couple of months now and we've seen the reaction in the prices across the growth in all of the futures so it will have a short effect but longer i think we've still got global issues with crop supplies and i think there is just generally a shortage so i don't think it will too enough to completely the trend as it were
9:29 am
but short term it should cool the prices. why we don't have a total lifting of the buying was something of the price of the market and that was what the market reacted to could russian produce a gap where you would buy at high prices the broad in the us live the domestic market short now. well having been banned really from getting any exposure to the global market the russian farmers and producers will be keen to to gain some sort of exposure there and the indications we're getting at this point in time is that there's a possibility of maybe say fifteen million tonnes worth of excess supply on top of what is anticipated to be russia's demand having said that of course russia has shown historically that it has no fears about stepping into the market and preventing these exports if they fear that supply to the local. markets would be in short supply so i don't think that they the agricultural ministry would let that happen. what's your outlook for wheat prices can you give us some figures and what
9:30 am
are the key drivers. well again as i said earlier the ultimately is supply and demand are always the key drivers in this supply is being affected globally by poor weather conditions so there is a there is a healthy shortage in crops so this comes as a welcome rest by in the short term the increase in russian supply but you only need to look across the border at ukraine and see that their figures are down roughly forty three percent on the year to know that we snapped up pretty quickly so short term i think you'll see the prices cool a little bit longer i think you'll probably see prices spike higher as demand dictates. all right honest i'm not kate market hours from world's press thank you very much for this indeed. ok that's our business not day for this hour more about forty five minutes stay with us for the headlines next.
