the. hunger pains in somalia millions of people are dying of famine yet no one in the world seems to care so why is there no attention being brought to this disturbing mess matter. as the mastermind behind the twin terror attacks in norway leaves not guilty what's behind his masonic ideology and should it be taken seriously will decode the symbol. and as the youth of spain protests over their country's economic situation whole weekend of debt talks in d.c. came to nothing so when the going gets tough love on americans get going into the
5:01 pm
streets. you sort of users you know this is the family and they will serve as a stronger only plus i'm asking reality with some comic con really why don't these people get together for real issues like to save the world from economic doom. and of league of their own even after title nine why are women still on the losing end when it comes to school. it's monday july twenty fifth and christine fair is out in washington d.c. and you're watching our team i want to start by talking about the dire situation in somalia in east africa drought high food prices and conflicts have led to total famine in many parts of the region around the united nations today held an emergency meeting in rome to address the issue now there are
5:02 pm
a few issues here the u.n. world food program has said it's really really difficult and in many cases unable to reach more than two million somalis at risk of starvation because they're in areas controlled by the militant group al-shabaab now in other ways people there are being forgotten. united states used to be the top aide provider for somalia and now ranks seven charity two is the senior communications officer for the united nations high commissioner for refugees charity i want to talk about the situation in somalia i guess i just want to start i have a you give us an overview of some bullet points of what people should know about the situation there ok so it's been about six seasons of drought in in the southern and central area of somalia which has led to a particular tipping point that we're seeing now some of the violence after the first of the year increased a lack of access to some of the areas that you referenced earlier and so because people there hasn't been
5:03 pm
a lot of access to the area thousands and hundreds of thousands of people have been fleeing and walking for three to four weeks at a time to get to two different camps in kenya and ethiopia so we're looking at a volume of three thousand people every day registering at these camps and the number increased threefold from from may to june and they just keep increasing so as this has gotten some international and domestic attention there is a greater movement inside of somalia to get more aid but as you know there are areas that it is difficult. i mean why in two thousand and eleven with technology the way it is that with travel the way it is. there are a lot of places in this country where people have more than enough why the suffering still go on like this to this level today you know there's whenever there's conflicts there's food security issues and the two really go hand in hand
5:04 pm
if you look at the history of somalia and this had situations been going on for over twenty years the u.n. peacekeepers were removed from the region in the mid ninety's and that led to increased instability and so you have a very. government you have a desert and. not necessarily a priority by a lot of the world leaders and so you have a weak state it's a difficult question to answer you mentioned a little earlier you know there is some attention being brought to this but i would say for the most part this is a story that is not making you know the lead on any sort of newscast in america this is not being paid attention to i mean certainly the situation in norway that happened over the weekend very tragic and horrible but the numbers of the people that were killed there pale in comparison to the number of people dying every day in somalia so why is that we're not looking at this with
5:05 pm
a serious eye and giving it some serious attention. i think in many ways foreign policy has not focused on this area of the world and you know as a humanitarian and humanitarian representing humanitarian agency we're not a political institution so i can't give you the deeper just into that would be inappropriate but the situation that they are facing now has been something that has just steamrolled into this and and i think that we have to pay attention hundreds of mothers are losing three or four children on their way to ethiopia and one nation for the drop in aid by the u.s. the u.s. has been one of the biggest contributors to kenya and ethiopia. and yemen our humanitarian assistance from the u.s. has not went down inside of somalia and many countries have withdrawn aid because of the security situation and just happened they are well you want to know where your money is going you know there's the whole guns and butter issue and these
5:06 pm
these outreach efforts need to be met with accountability and it hasn't it's been problematic in that area and so we're almost out of time that's solutions. more funding coming in i think that there has to be a longer term humanitarian solution inside of somalia which we are seeing increasing thank you so much for coming in and speaking about this very important issue charities whose senior communications officer with the united nations high commissioner for refugees. well let's turn now to the latest on the terror attacks in oslo norway we want to take a deeper look into the man who says he's behind these attacks which so far have killed at least seventy six people thirty two year old anders behring breivik appeared in a closed session of court today he has admitted he was behind the attack on norway's capital and of the massacre at a youth camp and simultaneously has denied criminal guilt he believes themselves
5:07 pm
even to be a european hero and wrote a fifteen hundred page manifesto in which some interesting things have come out essentially that this is a person filled with hate and with extremely racist ideas he says he wanted to start a revolution to inspire norwegians to retake their country from muslims and other immigrants he also seems to despise multiculturalism so what's interesting is that there are ideas that seem to stem back hundreds of years and have been reignited with the rebirth of the knights templar a branch of the freemasons brave who you're looking at right now he says he's a part of the freemasons and so we want to talk about this organization it is one with many many members who consider themselves to be morally superior and many of whom are also committed to bettering the world by any means necessary so here's a question was this an isolated incident or an ideology that we should start to take much more seriously it's got members like george washington andrew jackson and
5:08 pm
silvio berlusconi but certainly not all the freemasons think that anders was think the way that anders breivik does but for more on the psychology behind this organization earlier i spoke to radio host alex jones here are some of his thoughts . sure well you just got back from bohemian grove your great coverage there that i watched and that is a masonic organization it's admittedly masonic and they carry out some of the more archaic and secretive rituals there and it's even been covered by national geographic magazine showing over a hundred year old photograph of them engaging in a black magic ritual there so they're different branches of the masonic system and what happens is private intelligence agencies government intelligence agencies criminal groups try to infiltrate different arms of masonic lodges because of the secrecy they can organize behind closed doors in compartmentalise areas
5:09 pm
that's why the illuminati and seven hundred seventy six setting will start university and are very a germany was founded inside of masonic not lodges and then spread to france and engineer the french revolution there they want to overthrow all the monarchies but set themselves up as absolute monarchs and albert pike now the supreme commander of all global masonry and eight hundred seventy seven wrote that they would have three world wars world war one between europe and the united states and england world war two would be a larger global war the third war would be christendom against islam that would be invoked by their masonic operatives that would bring in world war three and then out of that they would destroy every existing order and even the finance capitalist and set themselves up as world rulers in the worship of the true one god in their words lucifer and i knew that i don't like to this is what we're seeing that this
5:10 pm
is you know the start of world war three or a tiny portion of what could lead to world war three. well yes this is an attempt by someone who he says has other cells he's being handled down to that and i thought i knew what was going on he was he was at meetings with british quote knights templars with british intelligence watching them undoubtedly involved with them i predicted last week on thursday but they will start moving the terror threat away from muslims in europe or the united states over to quote light right wing al qaeda people that won't go along with the new wars the banker bailouts the open borders all of this as a way to demonize it so i could see the shift in law enforcement training manuals i was being sent in a different messages in the media that they were about to flip through this and i said that the attacks were imminent imminent on thursday and our report on that one around the world but it was even more imminent and i thought i mean it was almost
5:11 pm
instantaneous less than twenty four hours later this began and you've got multiple shooters reported by eyewitnesses that look nothing like a brave a dark hair but with norwegian features you have the police ninety minutes on getting there you have a facebook being altered from illuminati stuff to saying it's a question a conservative that's confirmed all of this is a one in four got complicated here trying to say allies that there's a lot of the pieces here that we're not being told about this specific attack let me let me switch gears because i want to get into more questions i think you bring up a really important point it seems to me at least like for the last ten years both here in the u.s. and across europe authorities and investigators have focused only on the threat of al qaida when we think about more right wing extremist groups that seems to me at least you know they're often dismissed as sort of being on the friends and you know not very great in numbers i'm wondering if you think that this was simply a case of a man acting alone and it seems to me that you think it wasn't or if this is
5:12 pm
a window into a much larger problem. it's a window into a larger problem but but it's not what the script writers are telling us this is invoking a clash of civilizations he's calling for in the media is building him up like you know captain europe to to to be the crusader against the muslim hordes in their words and then this will undoubtedly getting all this attention and the slick packaging and the glamour photos in the videos and the plagiarized treatise will now be a bible to lone wolfs that will undoubtedly now carry out a vince just like the cia shut up and seventy nine al qaida that put out the radical muslim ideas which then were picked up by real muslims and carried out then the west has excuses to invade and take over the middle east so this is a psychological warfare program where the establishment is launching
5:13 pm
a grassroots crusade against the muslims in europe and then government will sit back in the western intelligence agencies and security agencies and play the part of the referee and the arbiter but tween the muslims and christians killing each other and so this is basically a very sophisticated form of false flag attack where whether he's a mind control patsy or whether he believes he's acting as part of this this a luminati knights templar knighthood. it is invoking a clash of civilizations that's only one level i don't listen to his savvy their route of time regardless of anything it certainly was a wake up call i think whether or not the you know authority that it definitely was a wake up call i think to most of the world and certainly a tragic attack that happened there radio host alex jones joining us thank you often talked. well today as you know is monday and we're coming off a weekend work hence does not begin to describe the situation between the president
5:14 pm
and help lawmakers here in washington now you may remember president obama held a mandatory meeting of sorts on saturday calling top lawmakers to at the very least make some headway in the process of raising the debt ceiling all the weekend has come and gone or is a nice photo off of everyone sitting down at the table together often jobs exchanged and where are we today in comparison to last week well it appears we are no further the clock now ticking with just nine days to go in the u.s. is dancing with the thought you can see the clock right behind me taking actually how on earth did we get to this point and what needs to happen in the next week to avoid what some are comparing the financial armageddon on a global scale well earlier i spoke to called paul craig roberts he was the assistant secretary of treasury under president reagan and has some insight into what is going on here where you can say both parties are good the republicans
5:15 pm
started this so i so they are to blame. normally raising the debt ceiling i mean it's just routine i mean they've done it scores of times and there's seldom serves as anything but a chance for some of the members of congress to grandstand and complain about. the burdens on our grandchildren. very seldom does it come to a situation like this in my opinion i could be wrong and the republicans are using the opportunity. of the largest deficit which is of course historically large to use the debt ceiling all right and then. as if there's a way of attacking the social safety net. republicans. social safety net. is not merely expensive economically but don't think it's morally
5:16 pm
expensive that it corrupts people it turns him into leeches. on the productive. society and. in part is america crusade and we should never mention dr roberts we got a clock. under you it's basically the count down to how many. under you it's basically the count down to how many hours we have left until we sort of reach this limit not that much higher when you think about it and i want to play for you the bits and pieces of what people are saying will happen if an agreement is not reached take a listen i don't think it would jeopardize the u.s. us being you know the largest economy in the world. it would certainly put eyes the stability but not just the stability of the u.s. economy which applies the stability of charge watching these two put aside the toxic environment find ways to get the other do it through spending cuts but the
5:17 pm
bottom line is they've got to get this done for the greatest country in the world to be on the brink of roughly the tills is embarrassing because severe disruptions in financial markets in the payment system induce rating downgrade of u.s. government debt create fundamental doubts about the credit worthiness of the united states and damage the special role of the dollar and of treasury securities in global markets in the longer term all right so this is not just democrats or republicans or even americans for that matter what do you think it says that the entire world is watching this and pretty much agrees on how this must and just not how to get there. is just political theater well i think this is just political theater. that so this it's this political theater. and if indeed. there's no extension or no increase in the debt limit
5:18 pm
then the effect will be even worse than anything anyone else has said it was effect will be because the present united states is simply not going to sit there while american power collapses while the dollar collapses he will simply use the. national security directive or the exactly order that president bush already has in place and he will declare a national emergency and he will set aside the debt limit and continue to issue debt in the federal reserve will continue to buy it and there won't be any change other than the power of the purse the leave the hands of congress and reside in the executive branch just has the power to declare war well so congress that obama said that that is off the table but you're right it could certainly be brought back
5:19 pm
i want to talk about something else though we have been hearing figures like two point four trillion like four trillion dollars in terms of how much needs to be cut or either raised but here's an interesting one colleague of a boston university professor wrote in greenberg that to get our overall fiscal gap under control the us must cut spending or raise tax revenue by twenty trillion dollars over the next decade that is far more than the president or the house republicans have thought here what do you think about that that that we're not even scratching the surface even if we get this done. i doubt that. one would have to loot arab workers assumption the great grades. but i think all of this is just part of the political sphere and that was columnist and former reagan administration official official paul craig roberts all right so let's talk about what's going on in spain and people there have a reason to be very angry many young people there have no jobs and little hope of
5:20 pm
finding one and they're taking to the streets protesters there have been out from sunup to sundown some of them marching outside of the prime minister's house others walking across the entire country to bring attention to their frustrations and this is not just spain or other european countries it's in israel this week a protest is about housing prices and at its height twenty thousand people were marching on the streets of tel aviv according to police estimates they took to their leaders house benjamin netanyahu shouting their frustrations at him not just for affordable housing but for a more equal distribution of resources and insert san diego california one hundred thousand people gathered and they were not protesting the foreclosure rate or the homeless population or the unemployment they were getting together to celebrate hanukkah books and other things associated with the movie and video game and comic book world with so many threats to america who better to save the day and your
5:21 pm
favorite superhero that was at least the spirit at comic-con international the comic book convention in southern california people show up dressed as their favorite make believe character but while thousands play dress up there are some very graphic and painful problems lurking just footsteps away from the convention artie's remodel in their shows us the disconnect between comic book fans and the real world. well bombs explode and thousands of american troops continue to fight in the country's longest war another battle is happening here at home. it's a fight against the harsh realities of life. these days you'll never see this many people protesting the wars yet more than one hundred thousand people attending comic con the world's largest comic book convention this
5:22 pm
is a costume party on steroids where the world's worries go out the window people how i wish i had was teleportation and who wouldn't want to be in themselves up from the harsh realities of today's america are just scared of. this life is a joke and it's. let's get a sweet release going. however life is no joke for a large segment of the u.s. population like these people living on the sidewalks just a few blocks from the convention we're in sunny san diego california a city known for its speeches and summer attractions it's also an area which is dealing with double digit unemployment and a growing homeless population but instead of focusing on these tough realities of life thousands of people from all over the world have the senate on this city this weekend in order to escape reality but i have to try to put a five hour every day to read the truth into
5:23 pm
a different world. that i probably go crazy and any fears over the economy anything like that you are calling these interests you know the the bad land that i come from certainly has a stronger economy despite the distraction that goes to comic-con simcox in crusaders to have concerns over where our country is headed some of us think that maybe the apocalypse is coming out but then they think a i'm not afraid of anything maybe while thousands of people celebrate comic con with no fear millions of americans are truly fearful about losing their jobs homes or benefits during this great recession this convention is a place where people can be themselves by acting like someone else just have fun while steam releases. that's the worth of the internet and while most americans fret about politicians billet each number out a deal oh boy in the end the us just did fall easy to come here and take
5:24 pm
a weekend off and just relax sometimes it's not the do any of us to. address the captain america america may indeed need. to see. in said hugo ramon dylan though archie all right speaking of president obama today he welcomes them and says go giants to the white house the giants are last year's winning team of the world series and you know it's all been standard for u.s. presidents to meet with and congratulate professional winning teams expressed that to me and congratulate winning then professional teams so what's the deal here why not equal time for the ladies i suppose for starters there is no major league women's baseball team but there are quite a few women sports teams who not only don't get invites to the white house they barely get coverage on t.v. they certainly don't sell as many tickets for their games and they don't make nearly as much money as their male counterparts while one man says there's
5:25 pm
a perfectly good explanation for this earlier i spoke to a man who calls himself james preacher he travels the country preaching his beliefs one of which is that women shouldn't play sports at all here's a look at his unique perspective. my viewpoint is that the women should not be own volved in the sports whatsoever at all and what instead it should women be doing well the scriptural if surfer they're looking a lot of people do not understand the scriptures or even reverence the scriptures today as we did not find three hundred years ago north and so i know you're a working position but the scriptural position for a woman according to titus two and first amendment to was to be a keeper at home to take care of her husband and her children let's bring this back to the original discussion of sports and you know it so you say your argument is that women should not be playing sports in the first place. and there are other reasons you. said they are an exercise. exercise would not be wrong in the
5:26 pm
privacy of their home or in a place where they're dressed and decently and that's another problem i have all other sports but also tells us that women should be modest some of the dress that should be there or in their actions in much of the apparel i mean there's cheerleaders in the way the cheerleaders for us are indecent by god's standards i believe in the idea of a woman well around playing basketball and doing this to be a stand in for the duel of the sports teams it's induced the themes of two thousand and eleven i mean how many i don't know how many people do you have that are actually you know following your your word obviously you're married certainly i would imagine that your wife agrees with you which things very strange to me as a you know kind of a i guess you might describe me as a modern day one at least by your standards you go around the country preaching do you have people who actually subscribe to what you're saying when the number one limited statement leaves you question just a moment let's all get away from that number one recognize that in our society in
5:27 pm
america one hundred fifty years ago ninety percent of the united states of american citizens of greed was statements are making such as it will be people who don't but there are literally tens of thousands hundreds of thousands even christians around america that's a poor or what i'm stating here are many and you look at a movement the middle no movement and so forth that here too will be cheaper at home modest apparel women shouldn't wear slacks and shorts and bathing suits and so forth so i'm not alone in this so they give us all of a read gresham's of where we come in america and what i will say the last times perilous times show come in we're going to go in for that further away from the truth of the word of god so by these agreed just things happening women wearing bathing suits and slacks and all this how has this negatively impacted our society . well one of the. numerous other ways of totally agree was
5:28 pm
as far as the immodest apparel it's very easy but i will say as a man's i gate is it goes into a soul in a sense. this is mine i have focused my heart men are prone to lust and so jesus even servile male looks at a woman with lust he's committed adultery his heart so for a woman to expose her body work with david caused him to do he did wrong is responsible for that but so was best sheba. no doubt she sinned in exposing her body by bathing publicly on a rooftop and so it is negatively affected america by the amount of lust so forth nicholas's out there but was really a serious question really regarding the same situation when we go to the issue of a woman to be a keeper at home with a woman who left her god given place of the home but divorce rates increased adultery increased because that woman spent more time with strange men and so forth
5:29 pm
offices and she did her own husband and now was a christian preacher james preacher and that's going to do it for now for more on the stories we covered or r.t. dot com slash usa or check out our you tube page youtube dot com slash r t america you can also follow me on twitter at franzi thanks so much for watching i'm christine president. we. already have a government says they're safe get ready because of their freedom.
