my take on this is that it was a group that was reached this in the future will move the return from the river china will continue by us but in those days we'll continue to try to build every time in the world going to certainly change the batteries to quality but it's not going to be there were made and i don't think if that is great too it is going to affect the international currency markets that much what it's going to affect is the average american in a pretty in a pretty talk i think. web page which is dot com where else do what will be the outcome of the american debt ceiling debate although no involve you it's a down raising the limits no doubt about and seventy percent say the result. of the crash of the globalized economy and eight percent of you think it's going to be very a u.s. default but with no permanent. and in europe small countries like the republicans to vacuum fill their economies being crushed under the weight of the

euro currency crisis with bailouts for years a member states needing to be paid for the nation's likes of aca are feeling the pinch as our first reports critics that say the rules have changed from fewer membership failing to live up to its promises. they say that charity starts at home also a vacuum may be one of the poorest countries but with pressure from the e.u. to participate in a second bailout their money could soon be going to greece written on them i'll tell you what joining the euro zone brought responsibilities but not benefits in fact slovakian pensions a significantly lower than days increase people here at this hey michel to tell us they barely cover their food costs with the money they receive we have to now. deal with homelessness we have to reform our pension system our health care system this never enough money. that back in two thousand and nine when slovakia

joined the here is a day with such high hopes it was also kind of prestige to be the first one among her hungry and public polish people read about for the one from central europe to be you know in the zero club that the year isn't it seems isn't all it was cracked up to be as we join the euro zone there was always been treated that was saying that that's of one country liability just this one country in may two thousand turned the rules changed dramatically days left out of the year a gang may well now be breathing a sigh of relief if that neighboring new year is in countries have felt the benefits playback shoppers have been heading to their check out in a bid to escape the year and we come just across the border from the backyard to the czech republic where the superstore outlet doing a been in business more and more people make the regular journey to do their shopping because the prices here is simply much cheaper with people now shopping

outside the country evacuees retail revenues have fallen dramatically in the high prices mean the tourism industries have been hit hard certainly not the results hopeful. when they first joined but every club has its leaders and what they say apparently gays even if they're the ones who got you into trouble in the first place you see be created this illusion that all the countries in europe on our. homeward journey was there the greek bonds are as good as german bonds saw. made it possible for greek. world so much money back in may be contributing this time it's left many of those at first so eager to join the euro gang feeling they're now simply being pushed around serfs that sit back in. front has been warned by the international monetary fund that it needs more cards to avoid

becoming the next victim of the debt crisis the i.m.f. says the country's credit rating could be at risk of austerity measures are taken economics all the patrick young brings paris develop these problems. the problem is look these aren't things that have just happened suddenly i mean the french budget deficit has been in a deficit the french budget since one thousand nine hundred seventy four i mean these are things that have been going on for thirty or forty years it's absolutely ludicrous and truthfully governments need to stop spending and they need to be very realistic about their budgets and there are fundamental problems going all the way through the euro zone and we don't have any leaders who are willing to give us a sustainable solution this is typical of contagion we've been talking about it for weeks we have you know when you get some degree of illness and it goes through the body ultimately you have to decide when to amputate it and the truth is we should have amputated greece from the euro zone long ago we've got the situation at the

moment where provincial libraries in northern germany are being closed because the money isn't there because it's being used to fund people in the mediterranean i think german voters are going to get very angry about that very very soon and i actually think the political will is not there amongst the people to endlessly keep bailing out their saw their neighbors it's going to be a huge problem because ultimately the contagion is going to hit and i really do believe that after last week's events unfortunately we only enjoyed closer to the idea of a total euro melt on. also to come on the program dangerous connection libyan rebels that move on to kill. to have alleged ties to get down its racing pool. and we take a look at the israeli taking inspiration from the arab spring but a warring the netanyahu got. a warsaw pact investigation

is partly blamed for the polish presidential plane crash near smolensk last year bob concluded the main responsibility lies with the polish crew the catastrophe in western russia killed president lech kaczynski and dolphins of the polish political elite well the findings suggest the plane's crew made grievous mistakes during the landing approach the pilot also apparently ignored warnings to the crew's navigator was i not fluent in russian report also concluded russian air traffic controllers and properly informed the crew about harsh weather conditions and that the airport wasn't ready to provide a safe landing. for flight missions conduct that. the first weather conditions calls for the seamless cooperation to bodies one being very true that the second being a very very traffic controller in that case in small and north on april the southern barely five years and that's corporations would bring less dramatic

results however on the thirteenth of a pull everybody was using all the instruments because there was no visibility neither was it on the altitudes of one hundred nor fifty meters more dramatically. soon think. of the traffic controller you are or you know the path you are. on cause dramatically iran years because the crew thought is that they are still on the right track this is why we have for size the importance of trading. he was in warsaw to hear the results of the polish probe into the presidential plane crash. this report which basically publishes the results of the investigation held by the polish side has been very long and dissipated in poland it took almost a year to compile it and took more than a month to actually translate the report into russian and english country's
6:09 am
interior minister has already hinted that the report would be very painful for poland to come to terms with but still this is the result of the polish investigation well after the plane crash on neighbor of the ten twenty or twenty ten which killed most of the country's political elite ninety six people including the presidential couple. when russia started the investigation making it clear that it was the crew of the presidential airplane which is to blame for the tragic plane crash along with the weather conditions along with a poor qualification of the flight crew poland and some parties in the poland nationalist parties including the party of the brother of the former president also kaczynski were accusing moscow of holding back facts and concealing information and stalling the investigation so these parties demanded that war so should hold its very own investigation at some point of time even prime minister to screw is known to be in very warm ties with moscow he was also criticizing russia for the way it
6:10 am
was handling the investigation but still we understand that after the investigation by poland started russia was also taking part in assisting the polish investigators providing all the needed documents and now this report is due to put paid to all the speculation as to whether a russian air traffic controllers were to blame for this crash the press conference which announces the results of this investigation this report is happening now as we speak and certainly we'll be bringing you all the details as the press conference comes to an end and we'll be updating our viewers with all the latest information. in the investigation continuing is because. the tragedy. the investigation that followed was was almost painfully thorough. i think the the russian investigators knowing how tragic this event was and how
6:11 am
highly politically charged it was they went out of their way to explain the reasons for. the facts that they found that they were the news surely they used in an unusually large number of words to describe really fairly simple things. i think anticipating that the truth was going to turn out to be very unpalatable which of course it was i can't really see why this investigation is continuing the accident was a simple one it's a type of accident that followed a mistake of a type which is happened countless times before in aviation history. i think the only reason why it's happening is because this was such a human tragedy such a political tragedy for the polish people that they they they've been they've been
6:12 am
given the truth and the truth is unbearable they can't take it now i don't think that the polish investigators think they can pin the blame on anybody else but i do think that they are looking to pins some of the blame on somebody else. well for more on do you log on to our website all to you dot com where you can find out more about the russia led investigation into the polish plane tragedy also lined up for you right now will discover what the f.b.i. and the each of them are sick of some space on that is breathing. under the tree has for forty degrees celsius in moscow we see how people throughout the city on dealing with the heat.

arab spring all european style discontent is where it is the latest scene of nationwide mass protests dozens of tent cities are appearing across the country as thousands take part in rallies to the moment government provide cheaper housing and lower the cost of living the biggest protests yet centers in tel aviv is planned for saturday nights the demonstrations resemble the beginning of the revolution in egypt according to alison's up with farah a palestinian israeli journalists. two thirds of the poor in israel are working poor people who are working every day people who have a great jobs and still are not able to go above the poverty level so that's a reason that people are coming out of the street despite the growth in g.d.p. it doesn't really translate on the ground the prices are incredibly high that israeli government has cut a lot of the social services if you look at how the protesters started it's almost
6:14 am
identical to how it started in egypt and internees and other places started through facebook somebody who made a post on facebook through social media that's how people organize or was organized completely in the beginning by the young people in israel students people who feel that they have no future people who feel who can't afford living here and i was realizing that this is not the way to go forward and he's trying to figure out ways to deal with it because the government could definitely fall in israel and these are ground then i think he is in danger especially that the protesters are growing while israel has been under building in tel aviv and haifa and all these major cities and israel is all have been overbuilding in the west bank for example fifteen percent according to the peace now report fifteen percent of israel for public building budget have been going to building in the settlements in the west bank which only consist of four percent of israel's population focus of the israeli government at the moment is more sustaining circulation and more sustaining the

individual or even a high ranking official who had still relationships with the gadhafi regime then his killing would be it would be the end of the. if it's the other case that is he and others inside the council the interim council of the bin ghazi power have been in opposition to another force a militia force it could be other little two opponents it could be the militia of the jihadist or another tribe if the case is deeper then the concern is more serious in the west that there could be more clashes in the future or more tensions within the military camp at a time where the rebel seems to be on the offensive so we're going to wait and see the results of the investigations and most likely the nato command would want to be part of these investigations. come on to him call survey says the alliance will keep a large military presence at the border with to quell a possible new outbreaks of violence but clashes erupted at one of the two disputed

6:18 am
western states mostly nato states that have recognized course of our treating them as a minority but we must remember that the key to the situation in kosovo was really in nato hands to take control militarily the entire province so really whatever happens down there is under their control and it's something that they will tolerate or not tolerate and we must also remember with the burning of the border checkpoint we still don't know who actually did it these were masked men they really could have been any nationality we don't know whether they were serb albanian or french or even american we just still don't know that. let's check out some of the world headlines now in brief this hour and ellison's are again countering on tony a square with egypt five months after the regime of president hosni mubarak fell the demonstration has been organized by liberal party some who want a set of agreed guidelines for a new constitution protesters also want instant trials for their former leader

partners good to have you with us on the program let's say we come to work on monday morning and the u.s. still has not race a debt ceiling what sort of mess with their p. o i mean i find it quite interesting that there's been to my opinion my opinion quite a lot of complacency bell i have financial markets as i walk around the trading floor speak to economists and analysts that i used to work with colleagues and friends they all say do not worry in a deal will be dark well i think we're now getting to the stage where people are really starting to be concerned that a deal may not be done so today we see the front page of the financial times a lot of economists and strategists and analysts start to be quite vocal in their criticism of washington saying come on guys it's time to sort it out i think a lot of nervousness we're all waiting for the last minute deal i think markets will give the poor be until monday or tuesday but i just think it could turn very quickly i think you could get a run in confidence very quickly speaking about the confidence of the markets how

heavily a sentiment being dominated by sovereign debt in europe and the us i mean is it overshadowing some good corporate earnings figures you've been seeing. as far as investors are concerned yes we're interested in the earnings numbers yes you know vodafone today has returned over three billion dollars to shareholders here in the u.k. yes you had better b. sky b. and yes we do talk about these things but really the big picture it's all about the big picture it's all about the macro situation it's all about the you know the euro zone's highly indebted periphery countries it's all about the quest in the states and that is truly where investors are focusing their thoughts so it is dominated really at the moment by the macro situation you are expressing a lot of doubt earlier that you've been hearing well let's listen to be optimistic a little bit even if the u.s. does cobble together a deal is it is it like a band-aid solution will the problem revert when it has to raise the debt ceiling yet again. well we seem to be having the followed kicking the can down the road here in europe and maybe the americans are discovering the joy of that particular
6:23 am
game as well because obviously unlike many countries they have this mandated this legal limit to the amount of debt that the american government can take or doesn't exist many other places around the world and and so if it is just a short term solution then we will be coming back and we will be revisiting this and i think what is concerning now a lot of players even if we do get the short term fix is the damage it's going to do to the american economy which is in great shape anyway we're expecting first second quarter g.d.p. figures out in the next two hours actually in two hours time and i think the concern is the damage that this huge uncertainty is doing both to consumer confidence in the states but also to business confidence as well and i think the markets will look very closely at today's economic g.d.p. figures so what should be a pessimistic investor do and it sees downgrades in defaults in the u.s. and europe where do assets go at this point. and then maybe you should hide under your do very well i'm not sure it's a wild and crazy world out there obviously you think gold very strong you've seen
6:24 am
the swiss franc very strong you've seen german boone's german government debt a lot of buyers of german government debt still. or you could just put your money on the euro i mean to be honest where is nowadays you know u.s. treasuries u.s. government debt was deemed safe that was supposed to be the ultimate risk free asset and i think many people would say that american debt is no longer the safest place to put your money i do know some people have actually done that ok let's quick look at russia now russia has an excellent budget position does that make it attractive investment in the current climate. i think there are still some big serious questions about russia really in terms of the rule of law rule of business law deep seated corruption. of the country yes it benefits from high oil prices oil prices for many years but i think this deep structural reform needs to happen to the russian economy before everyone starts piling the money in into russia. thank you very much for analysis there louise
6:25 am
cooper markets analyst partners thank you. well now let's take a look at the markets precious metal prices are still down this hour however they are still higher as investors look for a safe haven to be uncertainty over the u.s. that resolution that's up to republicans council to vote on the deficit reduction plan. looking at oil prices also down the problems in the u.s. chip away at investor confidence like sweet is currently trading below ninety seven dollars per barrel while brant is up one hundred seventeen dollars per barrel. and it's not looking good in europe as well where moody's rating agency has put spain longer view for a possible downgrade banking stocks are leading the fall with shares in three point one lloyd's three percent in the red. vodafone rose three point seven percent after missing u.s. a joint venture of arisan said. and here in moscow the markets erased

thursday's gains with the r.t.s. down over a percent this our market players follow the global uncertainty over the u.s. debt resolution. and looking at some individual names on the my socks oil majors are among the main losers of a good week or crude losing almost two percent this hour banking stocks are also water pressure with bank of moscow down point eight percent of the company reported a two and a half billion dollars now the loss last year bucking the trend as power generator into routes gaining almost four percent. that's all for the business news you can always check online at r.t. dot com forward slash business for more. for headlines.
