a new front of multicultural detention in europe. just after five pm on friday here in moscow you without. some say well markets back of losses but remain unstable after the shot was full since two thousand and eight but declined it raised fears of another wave of the global recession and with the slowing u.s. economy and the debt crisis. following the markets from brussels. the euro virus is spreading to new countries france and belgium all next day yields have hit record highs against germany's the u.k. spurge will services authority has asked british banks to reveal how much did they hold in belgium on fears that that country could be next italy and spain have
9:02 am
entered crisis talks with the e.u. as they yield hits critical new highs so now you have investors pulling out of france italy and spain the second third and fourth largest eurozone economies and that is why the investors in the markets are panicking the moment the leaders of france spain and germany are holding an emergency teleconference to try and stop the relevant coming out of the top you have italian prime minister silvio berlusconi and his finance minister openly disagreeing on this solution solutions to the crisis and the e.u. president jose manuel barroso has slammed discipline communication by e.u. leaders for making the crisis worse and germany is furious at such an open attack this time when it's already critical as in europe we've seen the america really suffering and raising the debt ceiling doesn't tackle the key problem which is making the problem worse given the more debt and their economy is weak because they
9:03 am
know the euro nor the u.s. have really started to tackle the key issue yesterday was the wall street was years where there was steep slumps in the share price and there are now fears that america will go back into recession which would strongly hit not just america but the whole world economy and u.s. and europe politicians keep trying to reassure the public that everything is ok but it's investors who are really making decisions they're the ones that are pulling their money out of these markets and they're saying that they don't they don't like the situation at the moment at all. but i mean. hong kong based executive headhunter business consultant says that america europe's financial uncertainty is making investors. we've seen it the colonies here in asia pacific have done very well over the last two to three years they survived the previous financial crisis china is looking at about nine percent growth this year india
9:04 am
eight percent and don't forget indonesia is about six point five percent that's about forty five percent of the world's population these are populations that have been have been growing economic wealth has been growing so they're now significant spenders on retail themselves we've seen tremendous growth in the property markets particularly in china we see china as a car market now become the world's largest car market and i think the major companies are looking for growth in asia pacific and they're diverting their attention to these markets and of course our business desk is keeping us up to date on the elements i don't need to see you know or having his eye on the market or any particular team or the latest u.s. unemployment report or what else you know well actually was expected the u.s. would add seventy five to eighty five new jobs reports came in half an hour ago saying one hundred seventeen thousand workers were added to payrolls so they came
9:05 am
in much better than expected therefore we are seeing markets rebounding already this effectively means that the slowdown in economic recovery is not as harsh as everybody expected say yesterday when the biggest nose though since two thousand and eight occurred so markets right now rebounding russian markets are almost completely have almost would lead to the losses that we've seen today and futures for the u.s. markets indicate that we are most likely to see a positive kickoff of trade in twenty minutes time we'll have all all and that all the latest figures and the leaves analysis in our business built in around fifteen minutes that would be most amid all the doing and gloom here regarding economics or an r.t.s. only some positive news and you're very well going to see more details about what time. president medvedev is urging syria's leader bashar al assad to start reforms and the violence in his country before it's too late he treatment was giving an extensive interview to artsy as well as a radio and georgian t.v.
9:06 am
channel pic and here's a preview bear in mind though the full version of the interview is coming up next hour aeronauts. the situation in syria has taken a dramatic turn. real politicians should follow developments but gadhafi gave violent orders to destroy the opposition the syrian president gave no such orders unfortunately a lot of people are dying in syria this is our biggest concern in my private conversation with the president of syria and in the private letters i sent him i discussed the same ideas reforms need to be carried out but you should establish peace with the opposition establish peace in the country and create a norton state if he fails to do that then the senate future awaits and at the end of the day will have to make a decision we are watching the situation it is changing our guidelines are to. meanwhile anti-government protests continue across syria despite an ongoing
9:07 am
crackdown by the military reports suggest five days of an assault on the city of hama has left about two hundred people dead the opposition dismissed though to create from president assad proposing a multi party government system saying the violence has to end before the dialogue begins the u.s. says it's working with its allies to apply more pressure on syria beyond sanctions arab lawyer. says such threats are counterproductive. the pressure of international pressure on syria is producing some result what is lacking is the action on this era inside they have to make the changes that require. principally start killing people remove some of the leadership either on the part decide on the government and on the military and i think the threats that the u.s. and france and leave and british. are flying through syria is very counterproductive it is not acceptable what's happening they have to have
9:08 am
a dialogue but they are resisting so falling into the same trial and we have fallen before with iraq when there will be security council said they will not invade iraq but they did basically in libya only we're going to have a no fly zone as it turned out to be into a war and invasion of libya. i know there's a lot of the leadership tension of a very different kind in britain with hard language of them's trying to enforce a show rio law in london from abstention to amputation artie's a lot of it's been hearing how they want to instill their tough code on the capital . so we are here to tell you that base mom. is unstoppable in europe stoning for adultery cutting off hands for stealing a death of renouncing islam this group of men is trying to enforce shari'a law in the u.k. they've started a campaign to make certain areas of london and other cities islamic law controlled zones starting with wealth of east london most of it will be for you good of being
9:09 am
evil because of you some as an alternative to the muslim and all muslim community also looking to believe the bus instead of together trade according to the sharia was all the problems of the sharia and even police themselves to a large extent healthy one day how does something average which we have apology locally security locally i do provide often locally choudhry and his friends are fly posting parts of london with large muslim populations they want to ban drinking gambling and playing music and they say they've got bands of young men ready to patrol and in full shari'a law by any means now that in force we will not initially be in on the level of inviting and it didn't hurt me but it's one of the biggest of the beast in this century so evil like pornography prostitution should do so. by that week of course i believe the pressures that are needed most should be run out of the area these muslims say british society is approve could riddled with drugs
9:10 am
crime and prostitution because of that they firmly believe members of the communities that targeting will welcome sharia law but the word of the street about the campaign tells a different story comes down circular like the laws of the place you live for and so my way you can appreciate the laws from them and all of these things are completely legal in this country so this is not indira pakistan this is our own laws it was a rights can you bring our laws in here we often have caused trouble but councillor martin eastham ok. griese say this could destroy community cohesion we've. taken down the posts since i put up because we do not want these posters round up or they do not represent the future and that they had no place to move from forest this is an equality campaigners say the issue real supporters shouldn't be considered a religious movement because of god right political organization with a poster campaign designed to divide and conquer communities the danger lies in
9:11 am
departing people dividing communities and creating mistrust are particularly among from non muslims towards moderate muslims i think this is part of their aim is to create mistrust so they can then turn to moderate muslims and say look everyone hates you we're your friend turn to us i'm going to see very very dangerous thing and it's a political tactic to increase their own power undeterred by opposition one chaldron of his group plan what they see is the beginning of an islamic emirate not just of the think a. europe police have mobilized to take these posters down as fast as they appear but choudhry and his group say bay formed bands of vigilante and forces to make sure syria is. all physically and in other parts of london women have already been harassed for not covering their heads if these muslims ever get their way i won't
9:12 am
be able to dress like this on the street so close them stay or many other parts of london brussels rome and paris. well from stone loved. your struggle with multiculturalism on line about the common also my love for you today right now or actually as america spending twenty three billion dollars on the most expensive drone planes in the history of the country today is on the brink of economic collapse. and russia's envoy to nato says the alliance is preparing a military operation in violence in syria just. four months after going into libya the interview log on to our t.v. talk. if you would r.t. live from moscow thank you for joining us today the u.n. is it given russia access to what's the what's of the the planet's biggest gold and
9:13 am
copper fields for exploration but it won't come easy it's a lie in the deep sea deposits of the mid atlantic ridge things are going to go as details of this potentially huge deal. russia has fifteen years to explore the. mid atlantic ridge in order to find out whether indeed this is spector's gold and copper or are just facts contained there and if the research proves to be successful if they do find a war in the mid atlantic ridge that that means i should get the priority in the development of that field and this has never been done before no countries that are applied for the development of the seabed interest in international waters until last year china has decided that they wanted to ask for permission to research for any potential valuable materials in these seabed off the indian ocean so this of course brought forth a many opportunities for other countries who are interested in develop developments
9:14 am
on such resources particularly for russia there's the the arctic the arctic sea russia is very interested in possible development of a well and gas resource there in fact russia has for quite some time has been trying to prove that the alone austin bridge in the arctic sea is in fact a continuation of russia's continental shelf and if they do prove that that in fact is the case of other countries agree with russia that that means russia will get to develop the possible incredibly rich oil and gas resources in that field of course russia has to compete with other countries who are also vying for the for the peace of the arctic fly and those countries of course are canada the united states denmark norway and interestingly enough china. with all of the law for most of breaking news this. court has ordered the arrest of the high profile opposition politician former prime minister yulia timoshenko she's been on trial
9:15 am
since june for allegedly if so you all thor's he was signing gas deals with russia in two thousand and nine but that was during her time in office as the country's prime minister was one of the leaders of the. orange revolution but later plunged the country into political chaos when the alliance broke up again this is breaking news here on our team. well it's actually got some other international headlines for you here on r.t. and libya's government has described reports that the youngest son of moammar gadhafi was killed in a nato airstrike as a dirty trick rebels claim that twenty eight year old comics gadhafi was among the thirty two who died in the raid i wish the alliance says targeted an ammunition depot and a military police facility in a town just southeast of tripoli in may one of kidneys other sons was killed along with three grandchildren when a nato bomb hit a house they were in. thailand has its first ever female head of government.
9:16 am
has been elected prime minister after her party secured a parliamentary majority she is the sister of the former prime minister since you know what he was overthrown in a military coup five years ago he was charged with corruption and fled the country of speculation that he might try a big comeback now that his sister is in charge. one of the world's most active volcanoes a killer whale in hawaii has released a new flow of lava this river remains within the boundaries of a national park and it's believed to pose no danger to nearby towns despite that some roads in the area are reported to have been closed colorway or has been constantly erupting since january one thousand nine hundred eighty three. ok next to one of russia's remotest corners where integration with china no doubt.
9:17 am
you. and today we're in the far eastern region it's a remote rich area holding a russia's largest gold reserves and is russia's most eastern economic outpost a mortal is making the most of its proximity to china it's not he's on a separate found out. a very warm welcome to this edition of russia place out this week coming to you from the on the region situated in the great hall this week to the buses for respect thousands of kilometers away from you in moscow but me of like this by folks from china and all surprisingly the influence of china and its culture is everywhere here. high heels and a hard hat it's not a look many women can pull off but their lady who are on arrest or if she prefers to be called in russia as an ordinary woman having first arrived in a more has an interpreter in the early ninety's she and her family worked their way up from running a small cafe shining this large construction company. and
9:18 am
spread across the region's capital blood of their shins get no fewer than four large chinese restaurants full most nights and serving up a taste of the orient to brush and dine is an impressive pool failure and one that the mother of two says she couldn't built in china. is that i saw an opportunity to create something here russia needs skilled laborers and with china being so close and easy access to chinese goods and equipment and a ready workforce work i knew mr is just one of a growing band of successful chinese entrepreneurs operating and russia's far east where a river is all that separates the two countries and easy proximity coupled with favorable these regulations continues to inspire thousands of chinese workers people like sucha to flock across the border every year his is a tried and tested business model selling cheap chinese grades.
9:19 am
so whether it's a pair of a trendy train is that you raft or perhaps the most design of this this is where the people are blagoveshchensk heads to pick up a bargain or inside the chinese market which then the sense of town and of course everything is. five hundred beds the label made in china and all the sellers also come from china and let me tell you it's absolutely packed inside here and how do you find this every single day so clearly business is believing. i've been here for three years and that china has good ones not jobs is going well here you can get things really cheap here which is great if you are a large family the quality varies hugely but on balance i think we're lucky to have chinese traders here russian goods just can't compete on pricing. and i hoping on one of the many packed ferries that cross more river every day russian consumers can enjoy an even more authentic chinese shopping experience i'll be at the site
9:20 am
slavic flavor thank you for calling in and in the process help to fuel the chinese economy it's led sons of fear that russia is far east is being exploited by its entrepreneurial neighbor the same used to travel with us pessimists revel in self-pity at the start of china forging ahead while not to miss just think of ways to develop like a vision it's got the same pace using chinese expertise capital and labor i believe our region is hugely fortunate small to china if we compare our city to others in russia we're much better off in almost every respect i was told of extensive plans for more joint ventures and grace integration between the two countries as far as government is concerned its relationship with western. if towns in here on the a more coastline it's a mere five minutes by boat across to china so close you always feel that you can reach out and touch it and people living here say that they've been witness to the

phenomenal pace the developments along the high head. representative of the growth of the chinese economy as a whole and its influence here in russia alison a bit more region. or about to operate in news this hour here at r.t. . a ukrainian court has ordered the arrest of the high profile opposition politician and former prime minister yulia timoshenko she don't trials as of june for allegedly exceeding her or thora he was signing gas deals with russia in two thousand and nine but was during her time in office as the country's prime minister she has been arrested for what's being called a misbehavior in court accused of obstructing the questioning of witnesses prosecutors say her alleged crimes cost the country over one hundred fifty million dollars to which i was one of the leaders of the orange revolution that may have plunged the country into political chaos when the alliance. which. are the timeout for the business with dmitri.

welcome to the business something's going on so u.s. stock futures are rallying following a positive jobs report in the world's biggest economy payrolls in the u.s. rose by one hundred seventeen thousand workers after a meager forty six thousand increase in june now a strong expected report may spark a rebound on the market from its worst drop since october two thousand and eight. pieces of weston chief strategist ed out on capital spending my peter thank you so much for being with us so what do you make of this report. well it's a piece of good news in what has been a really bad week and i think that what you're seeing is it's proving that the u.s. economy is still growing but not more than. still people are worried about the recession i think we're just seeing the market rebound is really investors clinging on to a little piece of good news in this kind of environment so i don't think we should read anything in as of yet it's too soon to say and people were watching the coming
9:23 am
in a very closely and there were negative issues there were there yesterday are still there today it's just a little bit of sort of a little bit of a golden lining if you want ok so you think there's a just a little breathing pause then for investors to tune in to stop by and have a bit of rest before falling even further then. yeah i mean this is what we call a relief rally which easily can turn south again if you see something coming out of spain and italy or anything else coming out of us very easily returning downwards again ok what do you make of the performance of the russian markets in the past couple of days i mean we've seen the dow drop more than four percent nasdaq five percent russian markets dropped two percent now they're coming back from losses today. yes i mean emerging markets actually have outperformed the developed market overall are the exception i guess in brazil russia has had the benefit of having the oil price having you know held up pretty well just plunged five percent
9:24 am
yesterday. but otherwise the fundamentals within the russian economy and fairly cheap fairly cheap market although we can argue that oil oil companies are cheaper recently that has probably been helping the russian economy sort of the russian market quite a bit but nevertheless we have seen the russian stocks taking quite a beating yesterday continue today in the beginning and you know when we see a relief rally we can probably expect the developed markets to bounce back harder than the emerging markets given that they fell more in the last couple of days all right so what sex is of the russian companies in the russian market so do you think the most interesting for investors that a time of great woman tells you right now. well it's obviously depends on your view on the market but if you you know my view is probably that we will see more bad news coming out and therefore we could see the markets go south further and historically if you look at the last forced big declines the sectors that were really you know the wonderful the least what you can call defensive sectors those
9:25 am
were mainly telecom consumers and to a lesser center. so those are probably the sectors that i would try and maintain exposure to if i have to be in russia in this environment and also gold companies within the metal segment which is obviously being quite hard here because there's quite a cyclical. say you know fairly safe haven but other on the other hand why not directly all right so you think gold is still a good buy then you think you might breach seventeen hundred pounds next week. i don't know but i mean i think that the downside risk is less in gold than in equities all right so next week all we're expecting to see the same kind of levels of volatility and what kind of stats should we be on the lookout for. well we have the week to start the latest as always to us but i think the it all depends on what comes out of europe and the u.s. and mainly i think the real concern right now is really europe. italy and spain are
9:26 am
here of us obviously too big to fail but within europe you can manage to bail out if you want portugal greece. but if you're looking at the size of the economies of spain and italy. then you have a really big problem on your hands at that that's what people probably will be looking most closely next week ok just one final quick question today when everything looked absolutely red on the markets after a great fall in new york in asia the only two in a series which were gaining with the madrid and milan exchange in the series. so i did not get that i had a. repeat that the only two exchanges prout the day today were gaining work the italian and maybe index and the objects of the madrid stock exchange why is that yes you've seen the interest rates coming down on the bonds and that does help. quite a bit but i think what people will be looking for when it comes to europe is what
9:27 am
the what the e.c.b. and your european commission will do regarding waiting for the funds into the relief fund because right now it is my view would be that it's not enough to sustain you know if you would have a serious serious situation in spain and italy. you know it's anybody's guess but it looks kind of boring to me ok peter weston chief strategist out on capital thank you so much for being with us and for your comments. right let's move quickly to the markets gold is still edging up what we've been talking about with peter eleven and a half dollars per ounce the silver being just a notch twenty cents that's after of course concerns over us and economies have been pushing investors over the past couple of weeks as we've seen a tremendous rally for gold this is of course a safe haven asset and it still remains so. while now world prices making a slight comeback light sweet fifty cents brant so one dollar fifty cents this hour light suites now stand. eighty seven dollars
9:28 am
a barrel when it was eighty four the previous session. move over to europe the markets recovering slightly as we're looking at a positive opening of the u.s. markets all sectors still trading in the red though indeed we did see the footsie end of that supply and a more than three percent earlier in the day france is now down point seven bags half a percent world bank of scotland has recovered after plunging twenty one percent early in the day after reporting seven a second quarter loss. here in russia one more hour to go of trading in moscow my six is down by just one percent r.t.s. still losing quite a lot of two percent there if we look at the main movers on the nice legs energy masers are still losing the most gas from down almost three percent was no more than two percent so it's seen its lowest level since december after whirlpool plunging in new york the previous session that's all speculation of fuel demand
9:29 am
will falter financial stocks are also on under somewhat of a pressure but their recovery telecommunications company telecom is one of the worst decliners of the day down four percent when it was down eight percent early in the session all right business r.t. will be back in fifteen minutes time and nothing. hungry for the full slump we've got the first the biggest issues get the human voice face to face with the news makers.
