in the movie the joint the hotel rooms the home of violence the gateway hotel the grand imperial really that's all it was the. socialist civility to go. on this is the kernel was her turn to retreat. standard and poor's stripped the u.s. of its highest credit rating infuriating the country's lenders with china already saying it's time to ditch the dollar as the reserve currency. is right is braced for yet another round of unprecedented at mass protests people rally against the government others compare the country's plight to that of a revolutionary egypt. and russia as a jurassic park take you want to trip the remote far east in a more richer way new breed of dinosaurs discovered.
11:01 am
just just after seven o'clock on saturday night here in moscow this is artsy with me wrong recent show but united states prize the top aaa credit rating has been cut for the first time since nineteen seventeen standard and poor's has dropped america's ranking to double a plus this comes after a last minute debt deal earlier this week narrowly rescued the country from default by some pieces the spending cuts agreed upon by the congress one and a half trillion dollars short and it has not changed the rating could plummet further in the coming years but the obama administration says the analysis is way off and will damage any recovery policies and you can find our fears in washington for. well it really is more than anything i hear just symbolic and unprecedented blow to the united states to its status as a safe investment at basically what this crowd. rating lowering does that is it
11:02 am
really raises questions about the validity of the united states and the ability of the u.s. politically to get its financial house in order so to speak. russian is here for the american people for the u.s. government could be severe now while this only takes down from a aaa to double a plus with a negative outlook threatening in fact that the rating could get lowered even more in the next two years what it does is it potentially it sends a message that the united states is a risky investments that could send interest rates going up for the federal government and because other borrowing costs are tied to that that means mortgage payments who go up mortgage interest rates can go up car interest rates can go up and really the rest of the u.s. economy could be severely affected now one thing that we do have to keep in mind here is that the obama administration had pointed out that the s.n.p. had made an error of about two trillion dollars in. projections in releasing that information now the s. and p.
11:03 am
doesn't make these decisions based on any sort of special information they really it really is a political reaction based on facts that are available to just anyone and so the other thing we have to keep in mind here is that these same credit ratings agencies essentially allowed top ratings to continue in the united states at a time when we were investing a lot of money in these mortgage securities that essentially ended up collapsing and pulling down the u.s. economy with it so they don't really have all that much credibility in the eyes of the world market still however we don't know what will happen come monday when the markets and when will open and if those interest rates do rise there could be a root ball at this very unstable economic time here in the united states with the passage of this debt deal the u.s. government's hands are essentially tied in terms of stimulating the economy in terms of any sort of new spending that could boost growth we saw g.d.p. growth had stalled to almost a crawl in the second half of the year we saw on top of that the jobs report that came out. on friday for united states while i was somewhat positive it actually
11:04 am
showed negative growth because it means that more people here in america have given up looking for work so politically there's really not that will in washington to do what's needed to stimulate growth and financially they simply do not have the tools in their possession in order to improve things here and so while these credit rating agencies may sometimes be accused by some financial experts about having missed the mark long ago these small tiny effect in terms of higher interest rates going to really really cripple what's already seems to be a worsening recession here in the united states. let's get more details on this now with kevin zeese the director come home america dot us i thank you for joining us today as we know has now downgraded the u.s. so although it didn't do that during the shoot crisis of two thousand and eight does this mean that possibly the credit rating agencies now learned an important lesson or is it trying to perhaps
11:05 am
a clean up its image. some problems for the last collapse giving wall street banks really easy to. say they were the cause of one of the crashes. you know things like. lehman brothers were given very high raise it is or whether it's clean. or whether it's showing its power who knows what's going on but the reality is as your correspondent said he comes at a very shaky time we saw a big drop in the stock market of four percent of its value on thursday we saw a very shaky market on friday and no doubt this will not help things on monday and tuesday of next week so people should watch closely other plays out and so when it comes to an issue of credibility back in the crisis of two thousand and eight funnyman pretty much still given aaa ratings although the next day or so they went belly up now the administration is saying that there was a miscalculation of two trillion dollars in the s. and p. report. what you make of this reaction well i think they're they're trying their
11:06 am
best to minimize the credibility of the of the report but the reality is our economy is in terrible shape and the government's actions are actually counterproductive as a number of nobel prize winning economists and other top economists have said the focus now should not be on deficit should be on getting the kind moving in creating jobs unfortunate government it's going in the opposite direction focusing on deficit just really choke the money supply even more frankly president obama has mishandled the economy right from the outset here too small of a economic stimulus when kamal office he bailed out wall street supported the bush be our wall street rather than pushing for be our main street his health care plan we entrenched for the insurance industry and in really do anything control costs is the lack of prosecution of wall street executives for a collapse of the economy showed a real spinelessness and put them into power rather than prosecute them what didn't
11:07 am
kill it did he didn't he have to say the same cause and i think he put them in a position to try and clean up the mess exactly and i think that led to even more bad policy decisions the the regulation of wall street which was led by the guys who caused the problem who work now for obama actually was inadequate and i think anyone who looks at it would see that so what's been going on in the economy has not been positive and neither party has the will to tax the people who have the money the top one percent who own ninety five percent of our wealth really need to be taxed more heavily and you'd be starting to tax start going to start in trouble but just to show the wealth the powerful elite are the ones who are running all the all the policies out of the white house i mean it is about i mean powerless to these corporations and these big wigs i'm not sure if perilous writing is part of the problem i think rightly president obama agrees with them and i think he is a market driven politician he believes in the market as a solution he sees it believe in reagan's trickle down economics even though all that stuff is is not. since he seems to believe it and i don't think it's
11:08 am
a perilous this question he's part of that power elite that are misusing the country and so he has the wrong direction right now it's it's going to well since the two thousand and eight crisis but it looks like the economy is sinking again you look at what's happening in the eurozone a number of the eurozone members are just absolutely sinking america is in trouble can the world economy survive if another crisis takes place or has the crisis is the crisis already taking place we're in the midst of the crisis now is my view and i think we will survive was he taking a massive restructuring american people are getting organized we're going project called october of two thousand and eleven or where people are taking care of back we don't trust the government anymore we need a political power is trustworthy that woeful bird with wall street big find its interests and other big business interests we need to restore power of the people and take it away from the economic elites who are destroying the country i know there is one major question that must be addressed here as u.s. lenders are worried by the latest news of america's credit rating being downgraded china is even proposing to ditch the dollar as the global reserve currency what
11:09 am
will happen to the u.s. if the world is no longer dollar dependent certainly warmer all become too expensive for most americans china's been talking away for a while russia's been talking away for a while. the middle eastern countries i think people see little mr action of our economy and recognize that the days of us edge of money on the economy are coming to an end. kevin zeese that director of a come home america got us thank you thank you very much. for the largest holder of the u.s. debt has immediately reacted to the news of the downgrade saying washington needs to cure its debt addiction beijing also called for a new stable reserve currency instead of the dollar concerns are also rising and asia's third largest economy india but the finance minister called the situation great if. true to reports now from get out. these in markets are tumbling they were tumbling on friday obviously we don't know what's going to happen on monday in
11:10 am
specific reaction to this news but many analysts many financial analysts here predicted this especially after the u.s. debt ceiling debate that took so long and in many ways is what people are saying led to these lower approval rating they guess you could say so the markets have tumbled here people are losing confidence in the american economy obviously there are things that soaring there is think a lot since decisions not specifically being made when it comes to that two point four trillion dollars in cuts a lot of people are wondering if it's hold out of the u.s. this is a long to come so if this isn't just to raise the debt ceiling how much longer could it take to actually figure out specifically where to cut and asia has a very vested interest in this if you think about what these ratings actually means that means that the united states won't be able to repay a lot of their loans in asia actually holds three trillion dollars in the united states along the people here are watching what's happening in the united states very closely he's pretty shrewd reporting right that will be great to come too late
11:11 am
to hit the european stock markets which are very taking a hummer this week being busted by the eurozone and america's debt difficulties meanwhile the e.u. leaders have criticized the u.s. rating agencies blaming them of double standards saying they will create a european one in response to the new bushel that's all from brussels. we downgraded trust in the rating agencies. as the agency admitted a two trillion dollar miscalculation when deciding if downgrade they claim to have the world's best minds working for them hasn't really surprised people here because most know that america's has had unsustainable for many years now well everyone apart from the rating agencies it seems and the day before firms collapse in the credit crunch they still had aaa ratings on those companies now that made the agencies lose their reputation but people lost their whole savings and triggered the world recession that followed e.u.
11:12 am
leaders are furious about this impedes double standards they held with the white house before this decision they'd prefer it when it would take place what would happen and that's now the white house to prepare a response to the media or even question the agency's judgment none of the happened last week when the agencies graded the european union countries and their ratings now that suggests that the agencies are saying the very least as a result the european union is creating its own agencies will do this. for americans who will see themselves having to pay more more interest on their loans and having to pay more this is bad really for everyone around the world who lend money to america because it raises the risk of not getting that money back. talk he's done you're bush you're right there one small but for a man one giant black hole for a government and later on of the program here on r t we are in new york to mosque
11:13 am
what's the difference between those of us. much worse for a government to be and why because we trust the government to do the right thing they're doing absolutely the opposite of that but don't you trust yourself to do the right thing and live within your means i do but i mean get so that i can pay it off. party is coming to live from moscow now a fresh wave of massive government protests is due to sweep across israel this saturday night activists are hoping some three hundred thousand will take part in the third weekend of rallies due to start in just a couple of hours' time one of tel aviv street has already been renamed by israeli tahrir after the square where the egypt uprising took place. reports places of a saturday tens of thousands of protesters will be taking to the streets here internet as well as in several other cities around the country where they'll be

11:15 am
were united under the banner me education for all and another demonstration just yesterday we hundreds of parents with strollers took to the streets and they were protesting against the wizened costs and the high cost of having tools and feeling as well the israeli prime minister. has been surprised by the masses of school these demonstrations and his government is still struggling terms of how to deal with them essentially what you can hear some people here in israel say is that in the tanakh it was sold says with gathering intelligence for the third solo from the mediterranean he missed the opportunity to see what was happening here once under his eyes. to see tel aviv. what the social crisis is caused by the government policy that decades allowed their wealth to go to the hands of the rich few that's according to you. from your piece now organization and sort of. in two years

11:18 am
these is the rather shocking level of secrecy that surrounds the inquiry and much of the inquiry is going to take place behind closed doors and no information will be released to the public without the say so of the government which is very worrying for an inquiry they're supposed to be getting information to the public about what's been going on very much hope that they will see that there will still be an inquiry which is open and fair and transparent and that the government will reconsider. the very problematic protocol that's been put in place. all of as always or more and all the stories we're covering dot com here are some of the items are online for you right now from london to london to start a group of hardline muslims want sharia law introduced in the u.k. which could. support petty theft and to illustrate the point check out our cartoons section where we draw on all the major stories.

americans and europeans but you have advertising in europe are you just you don't pay attention to it or. i think we pay less attention to it and we probably think a little more about what we need and what we can afford it's all about thinking yes i think so is it worse for you to be into personally that it is for a government to be in that. it's much worse for a government to be and why because we trust the government to do the right thing and they're doing absolutely the opposite of that don't you trust yourself to do the right thing and live within your means i do mean that such that i can pay it off debt is dead it's bad for governs best for individuals and the government should show leadership really got to clean it up do we really expect our government to get its act together if we can't get our act together for small families we can only hope that individuals in the government will step up and make

a decade ago led to the full recognition of a new breed of dinosaur a lot in town or giants on a twelve missile long herbivore found almost exclusively here and it was here the some of the first steps of a fragment of tail bone sticking out of the father and son went on to make paleontology history a van has since followed in his father's footsteps it's painstaking work requiring patience and skill in equal measure when we discover the wrong way we begin to remove the ground around it with a knife or your hand and a show where a cure for very slow because. more bones in the ground around it. just like this. year we have a team of bin excavating this site for the past three years and already they found well over one thousand dinosaur bones approximately sixty five million years old
