latest of the developments there how it's progressing well to deal grain but we had a few days in paris for that so i think we know that well today we also had some really great there was a wall street comes to washington conference on how investors can profit from people's health problems how they can problem health care and we went over to the marriott hotel just a few blocks from here and one of our leaders margaret flower is a physician got into the conference and after the first panel got up in shame for trying to profit from people's illness. and mistake of thinking of health care as an investment whether this is really a human right we need to get wall street out of health care we need with the insurances you know health care is the son that's run through funding by the government need to be like improved and expanded medicare for all outside we had fifty or so protesters shouting shame on wall street they could hear is inside we were told they were just below us in their congress can hear us making our points

a chance to speak were kept off the media or the corporate media not our t. of course worked were kept out of the halls of congress and testified before committees only here from lobbyist elections is dominated by money so none of the new normal tools work and so this is a new tool and we learned from egypt in tunisia and spain madison wisconsin and now it's come to new york and washington d.c. and dozens and dozens of other countries around the country to see these occupations everywhere people are fed up they want to see an end to corporate rule and power shifted to the people that's what we're supposed to be a country of by and for the people not of the corporations and we're seeing that we're seeing. consistent number of people it seems but it is spreading to different areas across the country do you expect this movement to growl or any of any more people and drove sat down and support this part that's what's happening around the world where this kind of thing is started so that some of these are start with fifty people or two hundred people in the ground thousands and tens of thousands

people are standing up against corporations that actually run the media benito mussolini or define fascism as a collaboration of corporation a government welcome to america guys that's what this is this is fascism at its finest little interest in substance or analysis has been shown like exploring why americans have been driven out onto the street like why you got here and i say well the name of the protests by wall street i think wall street has something to do with it media coverage peaked when a rest started taking place after the clashes. there is a. media interest and that's when all the major never seem to get taken this year as we can say i don't want to work. protesters here is thirty. if you created for. potential criminals and they don't know what they're talking about frankly it's really based in the end of his fruits of american politics some of the bigger networks prefer to keep their distance from the demonstrators the satellite trucks

don't look like a dirty hippie to me. i mean why do you think there's there's an effort to denigrate the types of people that are coming out of the protests i mean we're just on that report in the mainstream media and i don't. want to hear about what you saw on the made for me what i call the corporate media. since corporations united states producing all the news in the country except for some smaller outlets it's the corporate media and they want to get the message the message is and corporate rule and concentrate corporate power they are concentrated corporate power they don't want to understand that message and so we're going to keep saying it what we did and we i think we've got actually pretty good coverage in washington d.c. we've been very lucky local news has been good washington post you know its reputation for. as we do a pretty good even politico today which is a very corporate outlet had a positive and positive stories about us and our strategy was to make everybody the media we first. look at october two thousand levon dot org you can see on the media page we had listed scores of media outlets in the ten outlets and we say in the

beginning of that page to page we say everyone who comes in the media you have to come prepared to use your social networks your blogs e-mail list your organization affiliate with your facebook pages to get the message out and you to use your i phone app as a t.v. studio t.v. network take your outflows you can live stream everyone of that with an i phones and live stream and so we we have article teach people how to do that so we did that in order to show that the corporate media no they did not cover us of a cover of us thoughtfully there were hundreds of thousands of people knowing the truth and their credibility undermined i think it's work we're getting actually pretty fair coverage in washington d.c. at least on the corby of course fox news which has a lot of those because we're fox news clips they're probably still nationally the worst of the local fox news as pretty as pretty fairly and we're pretty please of the coverage we just keep pushing our message and getting more people involved but until now they have power in this country is a real sense in this country of powerlessness the big money the concentrated wealth that's where the power is but the truth is we do have the power to understand it

and realize it we also have to have conference that we the people can do a better job in the economic and political elites who have sent this economy off the cliff and have us untangled to work at mars and around the world so we have conference that we can do this job and you know speaking of social media it played a big role and the arab spring in the middle east and you just mentioned it's playing a role here and this movement and how important do you think social media is with this occupy wall street movement i think it's critical i think where a critical moment in our history with regard to media we've gone to greater and greater concentration of media but now with the technology available we're seeing a democratized with the leaks was part of that that made a pass for any individual who works in big biz. government to anonymously leak information there's all sorts of other leaking operative local leaks for example another one you can leak information without being known so you become a news source without an identified but in the social media let's have a lot every person to become

a media outlet if you look at five hundred people on freedom plaza and you say that each of you has the ability to be the media you have the social media if we act with intention together these five hundred people can reach hundreds of thousands of people we have that capacity if we start to act with intention and democratize the more powerful and the commercial media and i think that's where we're at this to the point where i was about to happen and you know kevin some of the republican presidential candidates at first say that they really knocked occupy wall street movement but in the turn of events we're seeing some of them change their tune and that romney for example i mentioned earlier he ever said it was class warfare and it was dangerous but now he's saying that he sympathizes with that and we're also we're also seeing john huntsman now and also show some support i would think doris that we haven't exactly but showing some support that they are sympathizing with this message right do you think that there's

a change of heart all of a sudden i suspect mitt romney is probably polling in a focus groups he probably tested these issues in the waters and realizes that a lot of americans even republican conservative public the agree with the anger of the economy and the corruption the deep corruption of the u.s. government at all levels and there's the corruption of people like romney people who come from wall street that's who's corrupted our economy and and our government so he had better cover his stance on that and yet be careful and not go too far but he's been doing our biggest fear in fact is the embrace of current politicians democrats or republicans we don't we are independent of both parties we see both political parties as part of the problem they're both corrupted by big business donations president. but i was going around the country holding a fundraiser is going to cost thirty eight thousand five hundred dollars to get into that's a higher cost than the individual median income of americans so if you are a median income or you can take all the money you earned in the year and go into an
