police crackdowns on anti corporate protesters across america failed to stop their spread as authorities lead demonstrators in the heart of the occupy movement out in the cold. also tonight a stern warning the arab league calls on syria to stop the bloodshed because dozens of civilian deaths are reported in fresh government crackdowns on protesters. and history repeating itself amount to build the biggest financial parroted in russian history may be up his old tricks again this time with his sights set on investors in ukraine. welcome it's eight pm saturday evening here in moscow i'm kevin zero in here tonight and our top story for us police are upping their efforts against the occupy movement in the country now for the second month in new york where the anti

protesting across the country he told me police crackdowns on the demonstrations are only fueling anger against an unfair. the bulk of the protestors are deeply committed to nonviolence which is extremely important and i think the police sometimes fail to recognize that when they attack nonviolent protesters it really exposes the corruption of the system and the fact that the police also mostly are fielded to protect the one percent and not to protect the free speech rights of the rest of us that actually draws more support for the protest they are finally drawing attention to the fact that we have an economy actually it not only in the united states but in the world that is predominately working for the for the one percent of people who control the financial system it is not working for the ninety nine percent but we've had so much conversation in the united states fueled by corporate media focusing attention on the problem as obama or the problem is the government is skipping over the fact that wall street has created an economy that

is devoted primarily to making money for rich people through playing financial games we have to address that issue you know people are complaining that the occupy wall street people don't have clear demands it's actually quite clear what they want they want their economy back they want their government back they want their future back and they actually want a country that operates by principles of true democracy and real markets which which work for everyone. later in the program we give demonstrators in new york a chance to get voices heard. the people are that are so greedy and so. money and wealth in materialism and consumerism. to offer parts of the big apple for. us protesters for their message to wall street . also coming to germany's multicultural melting pot balls over as immigration and

anti nazi group recently managed to do right when concert goes into wearing their bogus t. shirts when they were washed the right wing slogan dissolved to reveal a message urging the wearer to leave the near nazi group. however german police intelligence estimates that there are eight to ten thousand hard core militant neo nazis in the country those behind the stunt say that those numbers mean germany's problem is in the top three in europe every year in germany statistically you have about fifteen thousand twenty thousand eight crimes. of them about eight hundred violent crimes so that's all sort of in the top five for your own report accusations of inciting hatred to the n.p.t. they were unmoved germany is the state of the germans but if you are today you have parts in berlin with more than thirty forty percent of foreignness when

it's just too much germany has large ethnic minority populations from turkey the arab world and beyond and many families now have second and third generation members with german citizenship and they're gaining political representatives who defy anyone who says they don't belong here the n.p.t. or other parties. that's to say to me or take to this part of the year to be german whereas most political parties are now finding candidates from the ethnic groups they represent those on the right are posting up banners and slogans but the message go back where you came from with such a political divide the potential is there for german politics to become a lot nastier it's not immediately obvious that this fruit and vegetable store is at the edge of the turkish district in berlin it looks much like a fruit and vegetable stall elsewhere in the city but the question being fought over in political debates is will this region become

a route for cultural exchange or a border between essentially foreign territories tom watson r.t. . an attack by on the desert is in serious reportedly left seventeen soldiers dead according. human rights groups this comes after the arab league condemned the continuing killings of civilians in the country and anti regime protests the ministerial committee is due to hold another round of talks with syrian officials over the weekend to try to help end the crisis the un now estimating more than three thousand patients been killed since march when the uprising against president bashar assad began some of the protesters have also been calling for a no fly zone over the country and aerial support from nato warplanes was told out of the loop this is from the foundation for political economic and social research in neighboring turkey thanks for being on r.t. international is much appreciated and i we're getting reports of defectors now within the syrian army ranks are we seeing a turning point do you think in the conflict there. first of all i should say that
12:15 pm
the army the factions are or would be a key method to provide the dissolution of the syrian regime but i don't think we are at that stage yet at this stage where the defectors would have enough men porn the numbers and also the capital it takes to topple the syrian regime i think both the syrian regime and the defectors have been inflating. their numbers and they have been talking about like ten thousand soldiers ready to fight against the syrian regime and i think if they had that number i think. we have been facing have been facing a very different scenario in syria i think the other problem is the current defectors are not coming from the higher ranks of the syrian army i think in order to get that pavel e t and influence and power to face with the syrian regime
12:16 pm
they are going to need to have more factors in terms of numbers and also they have to you know force or they have to make possible the factions or the high ranking officers is there and hardening you frank. i think it's happening but it's happening very slowly and i think it's going to take some time let's talk about this no fly zone this been called for by some of the protesters to think that the u.s. and its allies will answer those calls now the finished in libya. i don't think so in the short run and i don't think that no fly zone would be and they're fission way to face with the assad regime because when we see the development of the protests and the brutal crackdown of the syrian regime against the protesters we see that the syrian regime has been using its its led forces a lot except for occasional use of helicopters to shut down the protesters
12:17 pm
and using a no fly zone like the one in libya i don't think would be an official way to face with these groups you know crackdown or three given what we now see it begs the question why they've actually called for it because we saw the very same thing called for in libya didn't way you can kind of understand what it was for there but here as you say attacks have been coming from the sky if you like so if you think the protesters really understand the implications of this no fly zone that they're calling for of the country i think i think this is a problem strong parallels have been a studly with the libyan case and the syrian case i think this is a grave error because there are grave differences between the syrian case and the libyan case then we look at the libyan case we see that there has already been a kind of dorothy equally divided libya and we had a base for the protesters or the oppositional forces you know fighting in under the
12:18 pm
umbrella of libyan national transitional council and we had no northern italy to fighting groups or armies fighting each other and the libyan air force had been used at the time against the positional forces and you know we don't even know the future implications of these no fly zone in libya i think they're going to start talking about these implications now but they. compare it with libya because they see that there is success in the libyan case but look at the syrian case i think it's completely different i mean if you look at it's like social fabric or the sectarian lines in syria we see that all groups i mean from the opposition and also the fighting this the regime groups have been living together the syrian juror if you could do or feel those will let you know
12:19 pm
a scenario like the one in libya that there are no completed briefly what can be done the arab league's meeting isn't it this weekend sunday to try to help find a an end to the crisis what do you think needs to be done. first of all i don't think that an arab league initiative that would create a dialogue. at the end of feet assad will leave power or stay in power would not be a solution for the syrian problem i don't think as solution with assad in power staying in power would be acceptable to the syrian opposition and i think assad has already you know. also it's hit his leg i'm a say in syria what should be done is an international consensus and the arab league should be a key continent of these core services and i think the economy exemptions that are designed to target some key all three shows and key figures within the syrian

regime or those who are supporting the syrian regime also from the business world can be an official invade to kind of pressure syria to change their you know methods of brutal crackdown also there are some key countries think that includes russia china and iran in the syrian case i think some other way should be found to talk with these states and to personally them to percy that the international community is not there to mingle with the internal syrian affairs but to protect the civilians that are under the fire of the syrian regime often notice thank you so much for your thoughts of the program from the a foundation for political economic and social research as you are and i quote you must thank you. the intense ethnic division in africa's newest country have reached disturbing levels of violence this weekend were a suspected rebel attack in saudi killed seventy five people officials say was

by money and wealth and materialism and consumerism you still have a mass for all these corporate bigwigs who are taking millions and not supporting their feet on my messages and shouldn't my message is to make sure that the soldiers that are here and they continue to believe that this conversation is a point and that these people are involved in a process to constructing a role where dreams are possible right now dreams are impossible in america for a lot of people these people need to believe their dreams must continue that's why we're here so it seems like the bottom line is the protesters are less interested in talking to wall streeters and washington themselves and more interested in keeping the conversation and the power among the people themselves. well for president next week something not small coming up shortly and i would dimitris got all the latest from the tennis new year and a season of an e.t.a. championships in istanbul also got your essential week and entertainment god must go out on me as to my name is kevin owen thank you for watching oxy international
