oh. welcome back design secret trip to the headline. russian demands an investigation into reports of civilian deaths from nato his campaign in detail which launched almost thirty thousand strides in seven months and while locals say that some rebels are still committing atrocities including summary execution against supporters of the toppled productive regime. iraq is witnessing a split in its power elite following the american military's was troll from google torn country a new wave of sectarian violence now threatens us but it's a good leaders competed in base while holding. on to step up
10:31 pm
a crew of three on their way to being sample space station but they plan to carry out about one hundred experiments assumes a prompt spacecraft probably with me to buy a digital equipment last stop without a hitch from if i can of course went wrong as it started. and as the main headlines up next the second part of the end of the show. our guys it's time for you said it i read it right take time to respond to my brilliant and engaging the were comments from facebook twitter and you tube because you got something to say i listen now first i want to respond to a viewer that wash our interview on bradley manning's pretrial hearing one and three five four commented on you tube whether or not you agree that secrecy should be reduced and transparency increased manning is going to pay for his actions assuming they can show that what he did that he did what they are accusing him of doing just because you don't like the speed limit doesn't mean that you don't have
10:32 pm
to pay for not following them and i think everybody out there understands that when bradley manning entered the united states army he submitted himself to both their rules and their system of justice and the government is accusing manny of of leaking classified material which if true would be breaking the law but if nobody wants to argue that bradley manning should be held to the letter of the law or if people do i mean i would think of the same line of reasoning would apply to the u.s. government as well for example bradley manning has a legal right to be free from cruel and unusual punishment he also has a legal right not to be subjected to any form of punishment before being brought to trial while being detained by the military manning was kept in solitary confinement without access to betting was forced to strip naked at night and that's true with many believed amounted to torture that is until the outcry was so strong that they finally transferred him and to this day to the to the fact to face the fact that the president the united states who is also the commander in chief of the u.s. military declared the defendant bradley manning guilty of a crime that has not been tried for
10:33 pm
a while think about that so to my viewer it goes both ways bradley manning is expected to obey the law and we have to remember that the government should to the next autoresponder of you are the watch my interview on ron paul's young supporters and their support of us anti-militarist foreign policy same foreign policy the bill o'reilly said it disqualified him for the presidency carm three d. commented bill o'reilly doesn't like him he aces in my book let's do it live now i just need to take a moment to share with the rest of our viewers what carm three d. is referring to when he says let's do it live enjoy. three that's tomorrow and that is a. war three that's tomorrow and that is it for us today and we will leave you with a i can't do it. we'll do it live but. do it who are. doing the art. all right so thank you for the
10:34 pm
comedic relief we're huge fans of funny videos and that video in particular that you know shows the true character of people like bill so feel free to send more of your favorite viral videos although i'm pretty sure that nothing can be that meltdown right there and i finally i want to respond to a kind of you are byron and five tweeted to us alone a well deserved recognition from forbes keep up the great work so thank you so much for all the support we have heard from a lot of our viewers this week so i just want to take a moment to say how much we really appreciate all the positive feedback we certainly wouldn't be where we are without you the viewers all right that's if my rantings today i won't be back with more next week we'll be on vacation for the holidays so you're just going to have to wait until two thousand and twelve to hear from me next. well department of homeland security is making a few changes to the southwest border they plan to cut seventy five percent of the national guard troops currently stationed at the border just a year and a half after g h s or the troops to go there to counter illegal immigration now this move is being called the transition rather than draw down because you see even
10:35 pm
though the troops are leaving they're beefing up a very different type of presence in the sky that's right a news release labels the new approach as adding aerial assets equipped with the latest surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities so in other words those are drones now we should know that they're going predator drones along the border since two thousand and five just not that many of them u.s. customs and border protection currently has eight predators flying along the border between arizona and texas and many members of the c.b.p. are placing boots with the way these seems like the right move to make check out this report from c.n.n. from two thousand and ten. this is a huge area and the border patrol lacks the manpower to fully patrol it it's the reason some want to expand predator patrols all along the southern border the more progress. we don't. know. it's much more costly to do. the question is is it really more cost effective
10:36 pm
let's break down some the figures d.h. has recently released a report about border drones helping in the capture of forty eight hundred undocumented immigrants and two hundred and thirty eight drug smugglers in the past six years as the washington post points out three hundred twenty seven thousand undocumented immigrants were caught along the border in two thousand and eleven without the use of drones and let's bring in the price factor currently a cost thirty six hundred dollars per hour to fly a predator and the government already spent two hundred forty million to buy and maintain those routes so it's clear that these drones are cheap and thus far they've only proven useful in one point five percent of the incidents where customs actually captured undocumented immigrants but c.b.p. plans to have up to twenty four of the unmanned aerial vehicles flying by two thousand and sixteen now we saw it in the past about privacy advocates of the expansion of domestic routes there's been plenty of outcry over privacy issues and the f.a.a. has been hesitant to allow these drones to fly due to safety concerns concerns that they might cause trouble for planes which also know the domestic drones both the
10:37 pm
ability to see minute details from fifteen to twenty thousand feet in the sky off line along the border they cannot enter mexico they have to stay in american airspace so keeping all those facts might think there's mounting evidence against the use of these drones but that's before we take politics into consideration if you there's actually a group called the congressional unmanned systems caucus or the drone caucus their goal is to make all kinds of drones as popular in the u.s. as possible so obviously they're pimping out this plan regardless of what the reality is congressman it like brian bilbray and henry quote. or call these surveillance vehicles invaluable governors like jan brewer and rick perry say if they're ideal for border security so you throw out all the data all the statistics out the window to promote expanded use of drones for border security let me throw one other fact out there d h s reports show that the number of illegal immigrants have dropped dramatically fifty three percent in fact since two thousand and eight that's due to a number of factors like america's struggling economy and draconian immigration
10:38 pm
laws that are popping up in states across the country so now that you home have all the facts let's just remind people about what's really happening despite the fact that there are fewer undocumented immigrants crossing the border d.h. as is going to increase the number of drones that has thanks in part to the drone clock is who wants to push the concept of constant surveillance so there you have it the latest evidence of domestic drones are becoming a growing part of homeland security whether we need them or not. now we have extensively cover the growing chorus of legal scholars tech companies think tanks even celebrities that have all joined in opposition to both the protect ip act and sopa stop online piracy act both pieces of legislation are considered to be damning by these groups who consider it censorship as they would give the government the power to blacklist websites dedicated to a very vague definition of infringing activities now for now committee hearings on sopa the house version of this bill have been postponed until two thousand and twelve so the opposition has a little more time to make their voices heard and that's exactly what they're doing let me show you videos that are now making their rounds on the web the first comes
10:39 pm
from dan boll singer in the u.k. who's released this song called sopa cabana. we use. our grandchildren to. say. what it was like in the states that. are still. missing some. twenty. seem to be a freedom of speech freedom for the speech. freedom just kind of catchy right well there's another video this one comes from leah cough man who wrote the internet hit i have a i got a crush on obama in two thousand and seven but a new song and video is called firewall.
10:40 pm
and so much about the intricacies of the legal language of these bills let's get some perspective for how it affects you and i people in the real world joining me is leah kauffman singer and songwriter leah thanks so much for joining us tonight i guess start out by telling us why you wrote the song hi yeah thank you for having me and i wrote this song when you know i first started to really hear about the bill and i first found out about it actually on the mozilla blog and it seemed like this is such a huge issue and to mainstream media it wasn't really covering it so kind of writing a song that is catchy and has some funny moments units out there be kind of
10:41 pm
a great way to grab people's attention. i don't like it a lot tell us what you think some of the biggest dangers are from protect ip and i only talk about protect ip also part of the mix. of the mix actually mentioned in the chorus but we released it kind of on the heels of this open market in congress last thursday. so yeah i mean i think some of the obvious dangers are that you know it could certainly. could have started job creation in the technology sector. you know everyone who works in a team would be affected you know the internet could actually really break because we're you know the government basically be kind of screwing around with the n.s.a. blocking so you know i think on every level there are dangerous. well tell us you know how it affect people like yourself personally because part of what you do is you you know you write songs you sing them you create these videos you put them
10:42 pm
online and then everybody wants to share that kind of information right sure yeah i mean people in the mash a broad would be affected anybody who posts you know user generated content to tumblr facebook you tube their own danger their own danger being censored by you know by tumblr and facebook and you tube because they're the ones who are now liable for you know any interesting links all right so the last time they wrote a song it really did become a huge internet head was that i got a crush on obama sagal you didn't perform it but i have to ask you do you still do you still feel that way because the obama administration you know has already signaled that they would support this kind of legislation. if they do support this legislation both so but and people i would no longer have a crush on obama at all and you know i think i would be devastated. but what do you think that the chances are that this could become a huge hit in that same sense you know you mention that you don't think the
10:43 pm
mainstream media has been doing a good job of covering this really important legislation that's making its way through congress and i completely agree with that but at the same time you know we have seen all the big tech companies take out an ad in the new york times excuse me we've seen legal scholars write letters but is this a better way to get average americans younger americans to really notice what's happening yeah absolutely you know i think who doesn't listen to pop music and it's great to see other artists like the end goal you know creating songs that really help spread the word about how terrible both of these goals are and their you know i would expect to see more very soon if you had good responses so far i'm curious you know have any of the tech companies reached out to you said good job thanks for joining in the chorus here tech companies not yet but i've had time to you know to kind of feedback from twitter and the you tube community and from tumblr and you know i think we're looking to put out more videos and kind of stupid happens from
10:44 pm
there watch i want to hear about you know do we know what song is coming next are you going to target more specific legislation more sopa and pipa or move on to other things thanks to remakes because they felt like i left out so many amazing web saying. you know maybe you've read it. you know if you. buy delphi think the songs are a good idea let's i want to hear something about the national defense authorization act in the indefinite detention have a love through. thanks so much for joining us tonight thank you for having me. still to come for i think which ones are tools i will ward yet again take you to find out what he said this time or the title and i will have a dose of happy hour with a fine new campaign ad from rick perry i can. here

10:46 pm
it's technology innovation all the developments around russia we've got the future covered. our guys it's time for tonight's tool toward and tonight we're giving it to newt gingrich yet again he apparently if you're one of the estimated nine million people in the united states that are gay that you shouldn't even bother thinking about voting for newt gingrich in fact if your rights as a gay american are the most important issue for you here's a wire vote he actually thinks that you should go out and vote for obama and yes he actually said that while he was confronted on a campaign stop in iowa. how do you gauge such a large community of people on this one specific issue you know support you. may be
10:47 pm
sure if you're on the other parts of what you stand for i think we. will hear. those words i think for those the only issue leaders. of marriage over the course of action that's real wealth a solution for you if you do you should be for obama. so when asked by a gay american group which makes up at least four percent of the population what do you are doing gauge them on the issue that really matters to them which is equal rights new shows his true colors he simply won't engage them on the issue he's not even going to try he's so steadfast in his opposition to engaging with the community that he tells them they should just vote for the other guy obama so now news came out in favor of a constitutional amendment which would ban same sex marriage so we all know that he's not really a huge fan of gay rights he's a bigot in fact this we know but to come out to say the gay population should bother with them was just showing a whole new level of intolerance that's four million people new
10:48 pm
a group you can't afford to lose now their numbers are tanking and i what and one can take some of solace in that public policy polling shows that newt's numbers have collapsed in the last couple of weeks literally according the poll his share of the vote has gone from twenty seven percent to fourteen percent in just two weeks so people seem to be tuning in to the fact that newt gingrich is kind of an ass. i'm sure there are some true horror stories where you know we're really going to be great for some home. the. show usually it's a very. that first one was from back in may and that second clip a gem from yesterday so perhaps a new school has to pander to evangelicals in iowa isn't really going to go quite as plant because guess what the united states isn't just comprised of evangelicals there are a lot of other people out there minorities gay people lead tino's groups of the republican party seem to be willing to write off they don't usually come right out
10:49 pm
and say it like newt did so very caring so little about equal rights for all and telling gay marriage is not to bother voting for me just go with obama newt gingrich wins are told time award and let me just make one note at the end of that i kind of hope that they take the advice and make sure that is hateful self loses. guys it's time for happy hour and joining me this evening r.t. producer jenny churchill and tanya sama nater reporter and blogger for think progress dot org and the ladies thank you for joining me thanks for having you know what there are a lot of candidates a lot of g.o.p. candidates at this point that have called it the gift that just keeps on giving it was deafening michele bachmann for a while there was a woman cain for a while but at the end of the day they're all just they're all just gifts in their own comedic way and rick perry is no exception take
10:50 pm
a look at this newest ad from him. we grew up in small towns raised with christian values values we still believe in and we know washington d.c. and use some of that armor appear and i really approve this message. so that's his wife that was speaking and then he just does a weird weird cat pounds into the who said who thought that looked good when they were directing it not multiple it's not like one person was like you know be awesome it's like one person said you should do this another person said that was great another person added it was like good to me like there were many decision i would like to see how do you feel about the cat i'm going to discuss for a cat's eye i knew i didn't like rick perry and there were a lot of reasons why but then this really proved to me it's these cat like quality . how this ability i can't i don't think that's fair i don't think anything's
10:51 pm
presidential like a cat impression but you have to wonder like is he coming to d.c. to be the president or steal the hope diamond like he's so it's like a little neck mock turtle whack that like i always do you know you kind of find it just seen him doing the cat jump like around here and writers all the time you know if he were to be traveling around the world and just who can tell. you the photo i mean all that that ad needed was like after he pounced and to be like yeah that would have been perfect i just thought here let's think about this where is he pouncing from i mean i just i mean this is a really good time now we're doing it and i also want to see the outtakes what it looked like when you miss the ledge because of the things that didn't go as white as you know this is you know the value of rick perry as a political candidate for the president i mean this is what we choose to discuss about his candidacy and the rest of it is even more embarrassing all right let's move on to these ads ok so these are some ads for
10:52 pm
a chinese restaurant in dubai and i think that we have pictures of them and so they basically say it brings the chinese out and everybody right my vision is really bad i just realize that. i'm going to try to read read it from really far away some people it really wasn't a very good p.r. move what do you say. well i what it from what i understand this is based on a one thousand nine hundred eighty s. leave i have to add that said you don't have to be jewish to enjoy levis which is basically unifying theme here is complete nonsense apparently sells i have absolutely no i don't have to be chinese to enjoy the chinese food but then don't be surprised if your eyes were going to be really different i mean yeah no i mean i have to say i find these ads offensive but not because it's making fun of chinese people but because people who are chinese restaurants think it's ok to play into chinese stereotypes people you know who own fried chicken restaurants think it's ok
10:53 pm
to play in the black stereotypes it's confusing to everyone else who can make those jokes when you make those jokes i get upset because i'm like oh i can't repeat that because it's race yeah that's right your the victim here i am i am going to totally cool when they do it right but then you know i had no idea how i was i didn't really know you that you were going with it because you are you are the victim we are pretty much always the case it's just a matter of how long it takes to get there yeah six degrees i do wonder how they're playing you divide because you know we saw this big here in the u.s. media and. people are saying they're even if they're eating chinese food now we don't know. let's this ok let me transition go about this a different way for starters that we know that that's rooms especially public rooms are really really really dirty and there are definitely been reports done on this.
10:54 pm
new study out released in boston today by the infectious disease society found it's what you can see that perhaps will make your stomach turn and i made mine and every public bathroom tested germs were everywhere so many in fact that researchers couldn't count them all. ok so that was one thing that makes you want to vomit knowing butts in public bathrooms all the time. you find out about all the germs that are on your cell phone that you touch to your face all the time to get even worse but here's a new study out of the u.k. which is really interesting basically cocaine was found on nine out of ten baby changing tables in the united kingdom and according to telegraph the u.k. has been named the cocaine capital of the world congrats i wonder you know i do wonder how much cocaine is found on baby changing tables and walls or i don't have babies around there well but i had no idea that babies made such great meals when i was in what i say was what i learned was giving the baby cocaine like how are these
10:55 pm
babies getting the cocaine taking it you know to the charlie's and and doing it on the baby changing station i don't understand it the fact that ok you already know how disgusting your i'd like restrooms are fact that you would actually want to hold down the little baby changing table and like put a lot of coke on there i do it off of there is just so disgusting i have to say in all seriousness anyone who is that desperate to do a line of cocaine that they're going to do it on a feces covered. table needs to seek help immediately if you have done this if you're at home thinking i've done that before go get help i wonder it's really that much dirtier than using a rolled up dollar bill though. i mean that's actually that's the other thing that they find cocaine on right well apparently they in the study they found cocaine almost everywhere every church i mean it's just sprinkling like a crime the u.k. ok. ok cocaine is everywhere. and germs.
10:56 pm
let's go back really quick to what we talked about during happier on a play that new clip one more time when you are on the tools that we can talk about it. with. such a large you know. on this one specific issue you know support. groups you're looking for what you. we're right in a room full. of those who support the right thing for those for whom the only issue that really matters is is this an issue of marriage over the course of nature to your own welfare system for you would you believe that you should be for a one. thing you guys know how i feel about newt gingrich but what do you think i mean is that what you're supposed to say is just like oh elise is not making false promises and he's just saying you know what don't even vote for me don't even bother go to the other guy this is the only time i will say this i can almost guarantee that i i know you know kind of respect newt for this i completely
10:57 pm
disagree with have admitting that he hates a group of young bulls eye resident there on the right not pandering to voters for at least saying when i get in office i'm not going to fight for your interests so if you want someone who will don't vote for me i respect that but i think that the most interesting part about this exchange was not even that should i vote for you he was like if you get the office should how do i gauge what the ring is like you know be able to tell you guys were way out of time and i realize thank you so much for joining us tonight that's it for a night show thanks for tuning in you know where to check everything online you tube twitter and facebook and coming up next as the newest.
