time in a bird you know which and time in america as we know it i mean come on sean you're really going to make the sound apocalyptic does the u.s. fall off the map of obama gets the votes in november or worse does that mean the doomsday is around the corner and is a strong word but because i can't say i'm really all that surprised fear mongering is a tried and true a political tactic no matter what the issue is and the president is no exception take for example erick erickson in a recent blog post the conservative wrote about his endorsement for the president saying we will be forced to hope for a deteriorating economy because while i will vote for romney and think he is vastly better than barack obama the fact is he has made no case for himself against barack obama except for that he can do a better job on the economy so erik's it is still anti obama that he's basically praying for the u.s. economy to completely crumble which will ensure that the president does doesn't come back for a second term kind of like that one time rush limbaugh said that he hoped this president would fail so here we go again conservative commentators want try to
1:49 pm
convince everybody that the world is going to end if obama returns i mean i knew the people said the world was going to end in two thousand and twelve but hell i don't know the mayans were aware of obama way back then and i should point out we've modified doomsday to happen on election day november third because that's when those g.o.p. mouthpieces think that it's all going to be game over on our clock at least you know i thought that the media personalities were all about being patriotic doing with best for the country but openly saying that you hope the country and the people will suffer so that you can have a republican back in the white house that proves that you care more about politics than you do about people and sean hannity's attempts to be cute and terrifying at the same time but given his own football metaphor is saying that another term obama be game over for the us pretty lame in my book so for sean hannity doing his darnedest to scare the crap out of people he's tonight's tool time winner.
1:50 pm
our guide time for a happy hour going to be this evening lauren lyster host of the capital account here on r t and jim hansen retired special operations master sergeant and military blogger of black by dot net hey guys i'm a i'm good thanks for having me on thanks for having me on your show to though we were just you know i want to mention making the rounds and. let's talk about i mean there's a lot of things you can get vending machines these days right you can even get like with the i phones or something we have like apple in the machine at like little acted on that thing but maybe you never expected this one take a look. you know it's worth university you can delegate more than snacks from a vending machine and the college is now making the morning after pill available through a vending machine the plan b. emergency contraception can be obtained through a machine in the health center each dose cost twenty five dollars and the university will not make money from the sales. what do you think is the time to be
1:51 pm
loosened up a little. early that's brilliant that is way more valuable than i guarantee all of the other things combined that are in that vending machine of fritos and cheetos or whatever at least plan b. is something that actually value of seventy two hours of the health center is closed they can never be for everything our offering that you could get pregnant because they didn't open for an absolutely or the pharmacy had to run in to see the vending machine i'm going to tell you this whole minefield and i'm just going to say maybe if they sold sex toys in the vending machine they could avoid the need for they have no they're not. going to have protection when it happens you know this is going to freak out of people this is going to cause want to get it over and i know it's sold and pharmacies you don't need a prescription you have to be over there going to be like cigarette machines or whatever you mean how you can make sure that it's control well i mean they have bigger fish to fry than vending machine and just have a plan b. i guess if there is any place to sell plan b. in a vending machine though it's college i think they should have been more proud i think
1:52 pm
they should roll them out more broadly and i think i think that building yeah the fact that you have them behind the counter and that you have to be over seventy i think is completely ludicrous i think that this should be the future. ok i can at least disagree with that we can seventeen before you get by that i mean what are you twelve year old kids can then maybe a little control a modicum of control who gets to decide that you can't legislate morality parents for the world you know and you know everything with it i have an idea i know you are going to. work at pharmacies are here's another interesting thing for you guys we have debated what we think about legislating morality think about twitter followers right if you work for a company and then you leave that company but you have like fifteen thousand twitter followers the you got during that time when you leave who do the twitter followers belong to we're seeing this happen in a certain case right now. well that's a move phone dog from his handle kept the seventeen thousand followers he had built up while at the company now phone dog has filed
1:53 pm
a lawsuit in california saying cravats followers should belong to the site the company wants two dollars and fifty cents a month per follower for eight months that makes three hundred forty thousand dollars. i think that's b.s. the company owns the twitter followers it's completely b.s. i don't even get you supposed to pay for the twitter followers the company will just lose all the twitter followers once that guy is not. who they're following anyway fortunately you guys are both completely wrong there is such a thing as intellectual property the company paid him to generate these twitter followers on their dime it's the same as stealing an email list or a customer list and taking it to a direct competitor it's wrong i've never thought i'd be opining on a tweet custody case the bottom line is the company paid him to do that they own the followers and by taking that list and taking it to a rival he stole their intellectual property plain and simple i mean i was a spiritualist that's going to the bottom good idea that anybody making that isn't going to i think good point if that's his you know not his personal life and that
1:54 pm
it was it was just i don't believe it's a company twitter handle and he's not in his followers under the only thing that is you know there's nothing there i don't even think i have like a theory or two number you're very aware of that's a stretch right it's not like you have somebody contacts that in their private personal contact it's just their twitter name which is public ok but it's the same thing if you have a customer list and you take that to your direct competitor these are people they generate advertising revenue from those twitter followers and by taking them to a direct competitor they cost his cost his company money it was stupid it wasn't probably. them that was going to if they do that through forty thousand dollars and that we discussed the i hope he does i did and you just go get those twitter followers again if he's insane or send tweeting just say i have a new twitter handle folks people are retarded well i mean. this is necessarily mean that i was the that's true that they're all right adults that are following it is hard it is very very funny word ahead so they're valuable that they use to be valuable and where ok we have quite
1:55 pm
a problem in this country when even our dogs. are you getting fat and need to lose weight i mean there is actually a show out there i think a program to help dogs lose weight take a look. at joining us now is how do you see all the director of the doggie fat camp one of the first in the country you have changed the lives of hundreds of dogs have to meet a couple of them right now first up i want to everybody to look at this before a shot of lucky and let's see lucky did i come on how long. that's ridiculous and that makes me hate people that so the only one actually exists but so based on a new survey from written areas nationwide half of all u.s. pets are dangerously overweight some forty one million dogs and forty seven million cats are so overweight or obese that there are high risk for diabetes arthritis some cancers and premature death this is not shock can't just do it to ourselves
1:56 pm
we've got to do it in the end well known fact that dogs and pets in their own little you are not unlimited. because my i dismiss only fitting this completely follows everything we know about pets and their owners it's just so messed up but i think my parents dogs are overweight so. my dogs probably need a little well it is an ill health it's a whole industry of people that can capitalize there's doggie diet pills there and obviously that hamps would really quickly let's john boehner the speaker of the house we all know that he likes to tantalize think like. if you do when you become speak you will probably have the deepest hand of any speaker in american history there's actually been a poll out in your state of ohio saying thirty percent of the voters think you spend too much time on your ten and twenty seven percent don't like it is this something you have to go there ababil you weren't there yesterday when i was called in my group. mad well all jokes aside the indoor tanning industry is political
1:57 pm
action committees contribute five thousand dollars to speaker john major's campaign i like it they should you support them why wouldn't they support him is there a better model is that america right there a man with a fake tan and people paying money to congress to keep that industry go yeah i think clearly agreed are you guys thanks so much for joining me tonight that's it for tonight so thanks for tuning in make sure to come back tomorrow comedian tim young is going to be joining us for happy hour but in the meantime don't forget to become a fan of the launch on facebook you can follow us on twitter if there's anything you ever miss it's all of you tube dot com slash the lot of shell and coming up next. the official. told time from the.

. and the first signs of a rift between the us and post mubarak egypt as washington's threats to hold military aid won't change his position on the so-called crackdown on western n.g.o.s our top stories this hour. international news and comment live from moscow this is r.t. with you twenty four hours a day the syrian opposition say the city of homs has come under the heaviest attack yet in days of intensive fighting between armed groups and government forces and activists say hundreds of people have been killed by army shelling since friday the government denies the assault local journalist done and then he says reports from homs difficult to verify. it seems like the situation hamas has been asked to wait for the last five days with fear fierce fighting between now what they call themselves the free syrian army and the military forces by the syrian government
2:02 pm
the syrian government has according to its official sources has reported many casualties on the ground that have fallen in the last few days almost it's really hard to determine what's really going on on the ground there because of safety issues to reach the place and confirm a. definite numbers of people. according to that's what according to activists saying that the syrian military has basically. bombed some parts of the city government completely refuted any type of involvement that they have actually. they blame it on the terrorists that have been taking active role in the city they

are spread all over the place there and causing many casualties the government also has issued many statements today that the security forces were able to kill tens of terrorists that belong to these terrorist groups that they also believe that are being backed by for and for an influence on the ground. russia's prime minister vladimir putin has cautioned against forceful intervention in the syrian conflict and warned there was a risk of behaving like a bull in a china shop moscow also calls on world powers to use that political clout to put pressure on both the syrian government and the opposition to lay down their arms and engage in talks or to sit in the cusco has more from. in light of the ongoing to put a grand goings about the situation in syria russian prime minister alleged and put in the said that syrians must be allowed to sell the situation in their country on the their own person prime minister speaking during

a meeting with the religious leaders have a warning against any possible foreign and military involvement in the country saying that such a scenario would be akin to a proverbial ball in the china shop a russian prime minister has also reminded of the situation in libya where following the nato led invasion the situation continues to remain quite unstable and violence russia is calling on international pressure on all parties involved in the syrian conflict in order to resolve the situation diplomatically where is western powers such as the u.k. the united states and france are want president of us to to step down they want him out of the picture fascistic in practical steps in to trying to solve the situation in syria on tuesday russian foreign minister says it's regular ever over as part of the russian delegation to damascus met with the syrian president bashar also coming out of those talks with russia's foreign minister said that the syrian president is
2:05 pm
ready to send down for a dialogue with the opposition senior member of the opposition syrian national council because they welcomed russia's role as a mediator and the peace process and commenting on his visit to damascus on wednesday. encouraged all other members of the international community to put more pressure on all sides involved in the syrian conflict in order to bring peace to the country. we have suggested that certain parties capable of influencing the opposition groups especially those based outside syria will try to convince those groups to begin negotiations parties with influence on damascus have been trying to convince. the authorities to do the same as i have mentioned the syrian authorities confirm they are ready to begin negotiations without putting forward any conditions but instead of putting pressure on the opposition most of the world community seems to be pulling out its envoys from syria around italy and spain are
2:06 pm
among the leaders countries to have recalled their ambassadors to syria and the acid rhetoric is also continuing to come from the united states where the where the white house is. that the syrian president's days are numbered and at the same time the pentagon has said that they are looking at ways to support the rebels fighting against the regime of president asad although not militarily for now they say. well let's not talk to real bassoon he's a strategic affairs expert joining me live there in beirut we know the members of the syrian opposition were reluctant to engage in dialogue but some analysts we've talked to today say that russia and china have now created better conditions for the opposition to agree to negotiations would you agree with that. i don't think these conditions exist yet they may appeal within within
2:07 pm
a week or two weeks however i have heard the ensor of the opposition to the call of the russian prime minister of foreign affairs which is a negative answer and i don't see the conditions today for a dialogue a dialogue should intervene of course but i don't see that these conditions are yet place why not however how will those conditions improve and while we seeing any positive response from the opposition saying that they could engage in some sort of why isn't that happening right now. i think that neither side could afford. huge amount of casualties and i believe that if we are heading towards more violence during the coming two weeks i think that both sides have interest in finding out. that would spare the country the dramatic consequences and i think that wisdom. some extent of wisdom is still
2:08 pm
there and your minister of foreign affairs mr la roche said maybe there are also some external parties that may influence either side to bring everybody around the table and dialogue however i don't think that we are there is today well it's interesting we're just hearing that moscow has today urged its western partners against taking what it calls hasty one sided action there in syria. does this imply that foreign intervention really could be on the cards now and that's something that russia is concerned about right now. if you talk about military foreign intervention i don't think that this is going to happen. at least not now and not soon and when we are saying about not happening soon i mean not weeks but months and if the violence continues as it is now developing every
2:09 pm
day from both sides i believe that the country will further apart into a difficult situation where dialogue would be even more and more difficult to establish i really believe that there are some needs. for every party that has kind of influence inside the country to exert positively that influence in sort of the party negotiate a solution and the solution it seems is not that difficult to find it's almost already found however it is the the will and the intention to negotiate that apparently obviously is not there iran is serious process ally in the region and certainly doesn't want assad to fall you said there's no immediate possibility of some form of military intervention but it could perhaps happen in the future could that be the point when iran could get involved and we see
2:10 pm
a wider problem. i don't think that iran could be involved or even launched to be involved in any military action inside syria i don't think that this is the will of iran and it's not the interest of iran now iran is supporting the syrian regime and this is absolutely clear and iran expressed why they supported the regime however this doesn't mean that they would engage into a military action inside the syrian territory i don't think i really think that the major issue today is what is going to happen within the coming days and weeks and if there is no dialogue as soon as possible i am afraid that we are going to towards more casualties and this will completely change even even the problematic of having a dialogue in the future really interesting here your perspective on this thank you very much for joining us live. thank you well there's plenty more to be found on

bizarre in two thousand and ten the court decided to give prisoners the right to vote petition by john hirst who spent much of his life behind bars after killing his landlady the u.k. is still refusing to implement the ruling it makes me physically ill it would probably mean again the vote to anyone who is in prison aside it could also cost of the last time that we looked at this the cost of complying with judgments under the european convention of human rights was about two point one billion pounds a year that's three point three billion dollars plus another two point eight billion in a susi dated one off costs in other areas in immigration ruling means a convicted nigerian rapist gets to stay in the u.k. because of his right to a family life. and most recently the european court of human rights ruled hate
