economy jobs numbers for february are out today and i lay them out just recently for you the u.s. labor department says last month two hundred twenty seven thousand new jobs were created but the unemployment rate stayed the same as the month before at about eight point three percent a lot of people speculating this is because more people entered back into the sort of looking for a job category which is why the unemployment rate didn't go down and we are at a time right now called by many a time of recovery but today we want to look at what recovery actually names and for whom michael hudson is an economics professor at the university of missouri and joins me now from forest hills new york hey there michael let's take this just out of the jobs numbers who's winning and who's losing right now in this current economy. it's hard to find very many owners if you talk about recovery and the question is what is going to be recovered there's sort of an illusion of jobs go up

we're returning to a normal situation but it's not a normal situation and i'll be economy is still having to go up and in fact the same day yesterday. and there were going to be the increased job numbers you had for the first time in four years and see where it went up again not market step because the mortgage market is still going to get one. of the other debts and you kind of get the you know it credit where it gets the employment did go up for the reasons that you mentioned the consumer in term didn't go up let's remained constant so that's not right and the jobs that we're talking about going up there's been a shift from the high paying jobs to the ok let me get in here right now because we do have a on sort of breakdown of the jobs created i just want to put that up for our viewers in terms of these new jobs created last month they were in health care in manufacturing field but they were also in leigh's or and hospitality that category

so we're talking about maids and busboys hotel and motel front desk clerks so in other words jobs that are often pretty low paying jobs and then what if you take a look at last jobs those were in retail but also in the public sector and construction jobs people who make a decent living are construction jobs so i think that goes sort of along with what you were saying michael with wages not going up and in terms of the type of guns that are actually coming in from different kind of me john's that plug holes rather than help people sustain a like that right but you're right that's exactly what's happening and that's just what the republican nominee mitt romney said yesterday that he was look at obama's trying to take. credit for all of us but look what it is we have the people who use . the old jobs train cherubs they're not getting work the students are not getting another one pound of debt soaring the students there so you have the students

graduated with a lot of violence and they're not being able to repay their loans are living off of the parents and. the debts are going up and all they can get are exactly the kind of working jobs you're talking about that go it's going to get there so you are going to have to do and i know today's news was of course viewed as positive by a lot of people and then i wanted to something else out there last month also saw the worst monthly deficit in history according to the congressional budget office so the deficit in fiscal year two thousand and twelve is already more than half a trillion dollars do you think this should concern the american people. should really consider them as where the money's going all this money is going to be our local banks it's not going to the people it's not helping the economy is slowing directly into mr obama's campaign control and the banks already been bailed out. they're getting it a month ago mr obama gave forty five million dollars and promised not to send them

to jail so not only there not the mail bailed out to justice departments refusing to prosecute the crime and said well we can't prosecute you because if we did go under and you couldn't spread the recovery so we're not going to prosecute you we're going to give you forty five billion will you please began lending it out again and the banks are in but doing it except they're taking their own problems their name salaries they're putting their money abroad but the drain on the economy is the wall street. sector in the real estate sector is not going in in fact the position of the obama administration is you have to be in some way jeans point three percent you have is soon as you three away you can be sure he's going to push me an appointment great way up because he's basically the same kind of a neo liberal that you have reached in europe so i think you might look at recent dress rehearsal for our arts and early afternoon here and i think since you brought
