throughout the weeks of find out what the prosecution and the defense will be arguing after this. let's not forget that we heard in the park party regime brought down the love. i think rock the bombing is beautiful and one well. we never got the word shows they're going to keep you safe get ready because you're going to lose your freedoms. but the ordinary would like her a little luck and they alone a fellow you know get the real headlines with none of them are the problem with the mainstream media today is that they're completely disconnected from the viewers and what actually matters to those viewers and so that's why young people just don't watch t.v. anymore if they want news they go online and read it but we're trying to take those
6:31 pm
stories that people actually care about and transfer them back in t.v. . you know sometimes you see a story and it seems so for lengthly you think you understand it and then you glimpse something else you hear or see some other part of it and realize everything you thought you knew you don't know i'm charged welcomes a big picture. guys
6:32 pm
it's time for you said it read it right take time to respond where brilliant and engaging viewer comments from facebook twitter and you tube because and you have some to say i listen now and i want to focus on some comments we got from you guys over the weekend as many of you know or if you don't know i'm telling you now i was a guest on up with chris hayes on m s n b c this past sunday and i wasn't on for the entire show but the discussions that i did take part in focused on race voting rights mitt romney and bain and the outsourcing of jobs we've got a lot of comments about this appearance so i want to go through some of that now first are some of you that liked it tom adler tweeted to us please chris more alone on your show bob riley said great job for not archie viewers stars borat so i just
6:33 pm
want to say thanks guys i really appreciate the support personally i had a great time being on the program i was excited they invited me on to express my views and i'd love to do it again but there are some of you however that did not take so kindly to me appearing on m s n b c dust bowl days said i saw load up from below to show on m.s.n. d c r t dot com is giving up its streak red and assimilated don't be fooled by quote alternative media and freedom brings tweeted oh no alone on m.s.n. b c now she's tainted with m.s.m. filth hoshi scrubbed well a mainstream hit now i understand you guys are coming from obviously we do a lot of mainstream media critique on this program for the most part i think that they are a horrible failure when it comes to asking the tough questions informing the public having real the pates about the issues that matter but i do for one think that chris hayes show stands out the format in and of itself actually allows for a two hour discussion rather than just thirty second talking points and so i
6:34 pm
appreciate them having me on for that but i also think that it doesn't matter where you appear as long as you bring up the important topics and as long as you bring the alternative to the mainstream it's not something that i try to do yesterday. why don't you talk about stop and frisk policies in new york city why don't we talk about the drug war if you look at for example this transpacific partnership agreements being negotiated with waiter nine different countries behind closed doors at the end of the day this could be the largest trade deal in u.s. history. all right so those are a few issues i finished off the appearance with the what you should know segment talking about david house the notes from the wiki leaks grand jury that he put online a crypt so personally i don't feel tainted at all i'm happy that i got to bring up the stories that matter to me on a bigger platform and hopefully give some s n b c viewers an insight and what are there normally not learning but before we close out this segment of our show tonight we just need to take a quick second to address some other haters those who were baffled not that i would
6:35 pm
go on as n.b.c. but the m s n b c would allow me to waltz into their studios it's mostly just one person the went on a rant about it joshua trevino tweet it all is all i'll say is r t is a straight up kremlin propaganda outlet so i'm surprised at the alone a show made it on chris hayes he then went on to tweet a number of negative stories about r.t. some of which i'm well familiar with like the columbia journalism review take and act like those were unbiased sources now since i had better things to do than engage with his trolling he just kept on talking to himself for a while and then out of this there's a lot more of this alone a but the bottom line is that you work for a while and mouthpiece and are willingly one yourself now this by the way coming from someone who sources say was a paid agent of the malaysian government but the fact of the matter is that my opinions are my own and that's where it ends perhaps trevino who's really right wing just didn't like what i have to say and as many people do when they have no other way to express their outrage he does try to pin it on some fantasy that i'm
6:36 pm
told what to say by your putin every day i think he just doesn't like that i'm right anyway haters are going to hate and i'll keep bringing up the stories that matter so that's my rantings and i will be back with more next week. well pretrial hearings in bradley manning's case are continuing for me this week throughout the next five days opposing sides will wrangle over manning's september trial lawyers for the alleged week of the source are now pushing to narrow the definition of aiding the enemy charges they're saying that manny manning can only be found guilty if he quote knowingly and intentionally gave intelligence to the enemy defense later david lawyer david cool call this change charge excuse me president and he said it's the first time that the military is accusing someone of using a third party to aid the enemy and i don't forget what the government is arguing here it's that because manning knew that the materials would appear on the internet then he was aiding the enemy because al qaeda has access to the internet so yeah i would agree with coombs in saying that it's a very broad and unprecedented and
6:37 pm
a separate motion who will also ask the court to dismiss two charges that manning exceeded authorized access of his computer meanwhile prosecutors have asked the court for forty five to sixty days to produce or demand exemptions from state department damage assessments defense lawyers are asking army judge colonel colonel denise lind to deny that request because they say that would cause further delays in a trial that already is moving at a glacial speed not to mention that if you've been saying for so long that we can expose closures did damage to national security shouldn't you already have that evidence ready it just shows how much government agencies don't want to tell the truth and want to stall in this case meanwhile there's also transparency which is continuing to dominate the discussion currently the defense is the only party publishing its court filings but prosecutors are asking the court to impose a certification process on these revelations so the motion would force defense lawyers to acknowledge a protective order against publishing certain information but also relieve the
6:38 pm
prosecution of its duty to review defense motions before so combs argue that this was basically just an effort to intimidate defense lawyers and he said the following. one is left to wonder why the government would want to allow the defense the ability to post motions on its own without any review or input from the government the answer is obvious the government is waiting for a gotcha moment where it can claim of the defense has violated the protective order and caused grave and irrepairable damage to the united states the defense admits that with a prosecution team the size of a starting football lineup the government should be able to keep track of redactions conveniently highlighted in yellow and prepare for argument and ensure that the accused gets a fair trial now kevin who is reporting from this hearing he pointed out that if you could be avoided if the government agreed to more transparency is a frequent guest on our show and a plaintive in litigation supported by other journalists and wiki leak itself they're suing the army to release more information about this trial and the case is
6:39 pm
currently making its way through military court of appeals now speaking of courtroom transparency let me just give you one other update here manning supporter david house shed light on the grand jury trial that's being convened in against wiki leaks in alexandria it's a subject we've discussed a number of times on this show before house said he refused to testify before the grand jury which he described as a threat to the constitution given to the house lawyer with the continuance request to. know he invoked his right to remain silent under the fifth amendment to the u.s. constitution i think every american citizen who hears about this we can be stranger in alexandria should be concerned because i for one don't want to wake up every morning and read only how glorious the u.s. government is i want to media in this country that is a free press that is healthy for the state and this nixonian grand jury behind me is chilling the prospect every day it's going to be. well out of hackers conference
6:40 pm
in new york on friday house published a self recorded transcript of his grand jury interrogation now the record of feels very little about himself because throughout the entire thing he invoked his fifth amendment rights. also shows government prosecutors interest in a number of wiki leaks associates specifically the tour projects jacob apple and boston based free software advocate general clark house reportedly told the grand jury that it was assembled to infringe upon freedom of speech and association and that it's using information obtained without a search warrant so why actually have david house on the show on thursday to discuss why it is that he felt the need to release this record but of course in the meantime we'll keep you updated with all of manning's hearings. i will it's now time for our last break of the evening but when we can back find out what michael bloomberg said to win yet another tool time award and then t.s.a. officials were sent into a frenzy by what one might call a hot pocket artie's christine brazil and jenny church will be on happy hour to discuss that and. a lot
6:41 pm
of american power. might be time. and if. you are going to. review. you know sometimes you see a story and it seems so. you think you understand it and then you glimpse something else or see some other part of it and realize that everything is ok if you don't i'm charged as a big. story
6:42 pm
with the. book and they alone and so they'll get a real headline with none of them are the problem with the mainstream media today is that they're completely disconnected from the viewers and what actually matters to those viewers and so that's why young people just don't watch t.v. anymore if they want news they go online and read it but we're trying to take those stories that people actually care about and transfer them back to t.v. .
6:43 pm
to the capital account i'm lauren lyster. our guys it's time for tonight's tool time award and tonight we're giving it to new york mayor michael bloomberg again i know we're not going to give him hell about a stupid crusade against large soda cups or his other health related wars this time he's getting it for a number insane depends of the n.y.p.d. stop and frisk policy before explaining i guess i should first know that there's been an uptick and gun violence in new york city recently. seventy seven new yorkers were shot during the week of the july fourth holiday including a three year old ended in a crossfire while playing in a sprinkler. now since there have been more gun related deaths in recent weeks seems like bloomberg decided that hey it's a good opportunity to pray stop and frisk he did it last month during
6:44 pm
a church service first i was the last to blow stuff to deal with it is higher than just those. street saved lives. but now he's out of again and this time he did it during service at the greater allen and the cathedral or rather there is focusing on why stop and frisk is so good he took the time to call out to organizations who don't see the program the same way that he does one of them being the n y c l u. i don't know how we're going to have the and why yeah you are the courts on the streets every place they sit there and they pontificate and they complain but they don't do anything. but the merit in there he went on to say let's be clear the n.y.c. i use priority is not protecting our safety it is protecting their ideology and in that regard they are no better than the n.r.a. both groups i think are dangerous dangerously wrong on the constitution the right
6:45 pm
to bear arms and the right to privacy do not trump the right of citizens to walk down their own hallway without getting blown away so i guess when in doubt fear monger right once again i want to call bloomberg for how wrong he is about stop and frisk you see there's a reason the people have taken to the streets of new york to protest the police department's policy bloomberg claims that we needed to take care of the city's violence yet ninety percent of those who were stopped in two thousand and eleven were released immediately that's right the n.y.p.d. is proud of the fact that they stopped six hundred eighty four thousand people last year but only twelve percent of those were arrested or receive summonses so sure sounds like that's a really effective process let me also take a moment to remind everyone at home that eighty percent of those detained are black or latino yet a huge majority of them weren't held for any crimes and i'm no police officer but the statistics seem to prove how racist and damaging and not helpful the stop and frisk policy really is now bloomberg is a total idiot he did mention the current program needs to be mended saying that
6:46 pm
cops should be properly trained to be courteous during stops because cheerleading for ray kelly and why b.b. was much more prominent than his one sentence addressing the concerns of those most affected by this policy so looks like your bloomberg is out of again tearing away at our most basic civil liberties making an argument in favor of cobs hassling any citizen of new york without provocation you know it's really sad to see him defending a policy which travels on or for the moment write something to the mayor here things that we rely on too much if that's possible and what's worse is that he's just using solid fear mongering techniques to do it just say for the sake of national security or in this case your personal safety your children's safety and lo and behold everyone's expected. and over there civil liberties just like our ever growing surveillance state just like the boy does drug laws that lead to more african-americans being jailed across the country if you say it's in the public's interest to cooperate lock up anybody who doesn't play by the rules and unfortunately for bloomberg the fear mongering isn't even based in fact see
6:47 pm
according to local radio station w n y c the areas where the most guns are found fall outside the concentrated area for stop and frisks i just don't understand why bloomberg is attacking the n.y.c. all you for defending your rights the constitution when we finally be happy when i don't know new york city is a police state when you can't go three city blocks without running into a checkpoint how long before everybody has to start carrying their papers and bloomberg sized i guess those a reasonable expectations because it supposedly keeps new yorkers alive so for using fear as a technique to go after groups who stand up for your civil liberties and for defending a program that basically is legalized racism again all in the style of scaring you into thinking that it's ok mayor bloomberg wins tonight's tool time award.
6:48 pm
our guide and sign for have you are and joining me this evening is alone a show producer jenny churchill on r t correspondent christine for south hello ladies. let's just start with jonah falcon shelley. so this guy i don't know maybe some of you have heard of him before but i'm going to let this video explain who he is for you my name is john arms forty i'm a born and bred new yorker i am an actor and a writer. i have the largest. i have this big one fully or. roughly nine inches tall and softer than thirteen and a half inches long and over. oh so far jonah has apparently the largest penis in the world and so that he was trying to travel and he was stopped and frisked by the t.s.a. because they thought the id hidden package in his pants bulging and i get in his
6:49 pm
pants and when the guard asked about it he said it's my you know i mean they said that he gave me a pat down but made sure to go around my penis with his hands they even put some powder on my pants probably a test for explosives i found it amusing and he basically just said that. he's going to wear bike shorts from now on. you think the san francisco t.s.a. would have had experience with guys before but i guess why i would like in san francisco known for large penis is i don't i don't know i have no idea i mean first of all how does he know he has the world's largest i don't know because he told him . that you know i think it is guinness world records so there might be some larger ones out there that just haven't been measured. i mean that on one hand lose your job i'm sorry i just job is that when you know where you're going to know now is
6:50 pm
the master verified so your job is like to go around and measure people's penises i don't know any way as far as t.s.a. i think that this is so uncomfortable and i guess this is really at the end of the day what everybody was kind of hoping would happen you know that the t.s.a. people i'm sure they had to have been unbelievably uncomfortable. they make people uncomfortable all day long they asked him if it was a growth and he was like well. i mean only on the other hand i mean t.s.a. is doing their job and it's very abnormal for somebody to be this well endowed so of course they're probably just checking to make sure there wasn't anything dangerous i mean i don't care but he was sorry i'm sure it goes through the scanner right these days. that he did yeah and they were saying there's no medals and whatever you have not yet but it shows you are that's bulging out you said to point out how much more mature christine is than us because she's like. you know we've got to mature about this story at all really. seems like this guy is fine with it
6:51 pm
and happy with it and probably feeling a little bit of an ego boost that you know you got your man or he did a whole documentary about the size of his sex organ i think that he was a loving that this happened at t.s.a. and that he could do another interview and exclusive with having to. do this for those who are curious nine inches that had thirteen point five injuries when it's you wrecked. well i know we do a lot of like fast food topics on the show so we just had to do this one take a look at this is it a seven eleven in singapore parent have had it since like two thousand and nine but somebody just you know decided to take video and show us what we're missing here in america take a look. master
6:52 pm
citizen gravy out of a slurpee machine i want to say that this was disgusting you know and i thought it well are delicious i'll be good i'm sorry times you find yourself at like three in the morning after a night out in a seven eleven and probably looking at something that normally you would think is gross but then at the time you know like any best thing ever absolutely anything goes a seven eleven and also i don't find the discussing you know however i do feel like it was a little too late quickie at the end because i had to say you know the machine you want to just saying it didn't look you know like i mean for high quality that people make mashed potatoes with like powder and water that i get out of a box yeah so it's the same thing it's just in a machine one that's you can readily buy no i mean you need a snack i need that machine because i have the fleet because i let potatoes go bad and then they get all weird and have those gross and small so anyways i buy the flakes such as happen but i need this machine because then it would be like the next level yes i don't think it's all that gross and it actually looks i think it's
6:53 pm
tempting to say k.f.c. doesn't have those in the back got a good boy right i can't imagine you know like over it how shocking that he was a little potatoes all right let's move on to mr ron paul shall we maybe maybe it's totally over the ron paul revolution take a look what happened in nebraska. representatives cast their votes for the g.o.p. presidential nomination this is ron paul's last chance at moving out of the national republican convention next month the texas congressman did not win enough votes but romney took a majority of nebraska's thirty five national delegate votes. what do you say i have a lot of things. just interviewed austin peterson from freedom works about an hour ago who says in fact it is not over but there are several states still up for contention massachusetts nevada. and some other ones i forget one of them has a lawsuit going on and in fact he is depending on the way you look at it has
6:54 pm
already won the votes of those five states but apparently he was very upset that nevada brought in on the matter the browser brought in all their police and so the head of the g.o.p. is saying oh we're just going to do things that way but in fact they brought in all the police to make sure no ron paul delegates got out of hand they had like romney lawyers on hand to make sure nothing went awry seemed a little bit. still you know kind of achieved even if it's a goal which is still destroy the bottom line is that romney should let him speak the national republican party should give him a speaking slot his slot his ideas generate a lot of discussion he has a lot of support the conventions five days long alone and you will be there i mean i think. you know that yes he definitely has said himself he said you know the people you know what to hear what he has to say and that there's no reason why there can't be a debate plus from mitt romney or like secret good friends i mean at least sort of
6:55 pm
friends they get along better than any of the other candidates they have been very friendly to each other you know throughout i guess you could say the campaign cycle but not to mention like sarah palin is feeling really distant she hasn't been invited yet to speak at the convention i'm sure they're feeling she's not sort of you know let us know say lavrov you also say because he actually isn't that different to a lot sarah palin talk with r. and c. and not ron paul that is a travesty because he actually had something to say that people listen to and i think that if you say a lot about the republican county and and i think a lot of you know old school republicans especially people who saw you know long term republicans like dick lugar who lost in the primary people who really believed in the importance of the republican party have seen how it's changed how it's gotten. tea party that would be the final straw in sort of thing mitt romney is already telling them. where there's the state of the g.o.p. and where it is right but they just have to have him unfortunately as we can't let's move on to the last thing. so you know a lot of this i guess i go to like weather dot com but
6:56 pm
a lot of people still get their weather from t.v. from the news and sometimes it is work out. those of you who watched yesterday you know the today's weather did not match up with yesterday's forecast and i could blame this on computers or whatever this is my responsibility i ask you to trust me i think of you every day when i make the forecast so i feel horrendous and i apologize really because this is a case that just did not go as planned all right so that's we all have rumors that i was nice but listen to what they want to do dutch counsellors in van holland they dig forecasters who accurately predict weather should be fine because they say if these bad forecasts are actually affecting resort towns. come on really you're going to find the people i mean i think that it is odd that that's the one job where like you are wrong i don't know ninety percent of the time and everyone's just like oh ok well now where i'm from here in the echo people are always what
6:57 pm
always sunny but i mean i don't know i don't think they should be fined by their forecasters are always wrong i think more and more with the technology that we have there right and you know for example here in d.c. we had a crazy rainstorm the other day that knocked out power for people for several days that nobody expected but other than minor circumstances like that most people know i was on my i phone and see the weather on an hourly basis and it's generally outcry here and we have thirty but that is a perfect example like a storm just pops up out of nowhere and yes they were wrong they said it was going to be sunny but that's why i don't think they should be fined because just because they were wrong doesn't mean they should have been right i think that was a freak thing so i mean i i got a fortune but i think that's a little too little unfair you know how to google and what i mean seriously are you guys thanks for joining me and that is it for tonight's show thank you for tuning in and they actually come back on wednesday we have no show tomorrow due to its scheduled maintenance on the channel but in the meantime don't forget to like the launch show on facebook to follow us on twitter and subscribe to our you tube
