day i'm abby martin so it seems if you ride the bus in baltimore maryland transit administration is passing off an invasion of your privacy as you guessed it a security measure check it out. those who respond to reports of violence on public buses have a new investigative tool actually ten of them on every bus were cameras outside and six inside that will record your every move and your every word they've always had surveillance video but audio was always off limits that is until now done done done the audio recording began on ten buses last week and m.t.a. hopes to have half the fleet equipped with these big brother hearing aids by next summer so they still use up in arms maryland's attorney general's office doesn't really care something approved the audio recordings i have no words and if you're
6:02 pm
at a loss for them to join me in break the sept. eleventh . illo. all right guys let's talk about the debate last night if that's what you want to call it the topic was foreign policy which is the last of all when you look at the fact that obama's pretty much of a neo con on his foreign policy views each of them represent two sides of the same imperialist coin so of course romney agree with almost every single foreign policy topic that was brought up let's take a look at some of today's headlines watch romney agrees with obama on everything whom romney agrees with obama on foreign policy during debate romney says he agrees with obama final debate shows how much romney agrees with obama obama romney no
6:03 pm
major differences in foreign policy debate you know what just check out for yourself. we have to do is a presence done i congratulate him on taking out of some of that governor romney i'm glad that you agree that we have been successful in going after al qaeda to the governor's credit you supported us going into libya i believe as the president indicated and said at the time that i supported his his action there i felt the same as the president did first of all i want to underscore the the same point the president made what you just heard governor romney said is he doesn't have different ideas mr president i'd have to agree with both of you actually on the fact that neither of you are providing the american people with an opportunity to change the course of our foreign policy and why i'd love to devote a full half hour to this ridiculous puppet show let's just highlight a few points here israel zionism or bust. israel security with israel because not only is israel security at stake israel is
6:04 pm
a true friend it is our greatest ally in the region and if israel is attacked america will stand with israel we will stand with israel and if israel is attacked we have their back. look we know that both of you love israel but hold on it wouldn't be fair to highlight israel without talking about the daily human rights abuses suffered by the palestinians right so let's see what they had to say about palestine huge awkward our aid we get it you got israel's back but really not a single mention of that little piece the land being bulldozed and slowly phased out of existence by the israeli military but i guess it's not that sexy to talk about as it in fact the only country mentioned more than israel during the debates was the wrong one and the rhetoric was so full of blatant hypocrisy and the propaganda was shameless. that you have said they want to see israel wiped off the map ok a hold up we know romney might be dumb enough to believe that's what argument is
6:05 pm
not actually said about israel but obama come on man i know that you know better this is been confirmed time and time again to be a mistranslation experts have confirmed this yet it's repeated ad nauseum by politicians and media pundits from both sides of the aisle but that romney you know is takes it one step further. and make sure that when do the judge is indicted of the genocide convention his words to genocide incitation. so wrong he said that he would actually indict. for incitement to genocide for a mistranslation you know was a real genocide that actually happened a million plus dead iraqis at the hands of the bush administration but yeah it makes more sense to charge for a threat that's never actually been made. but hold on romney does differ when it
6:06 pm
comes to counterterrorism. we can't kill our way out of this mess we're going to have to put in place a very comprehensive and robust strategy my strategy is pretty straightforward which is to go after the bad guys to make sure we do our very best to interrupt them to to kill them to rip take them out of the picture ok ok you say we can't kill our way out of this mess but your policy is to continue to kill our way out of this mess right well obama did talk about how we ended the iraq war which we already know isn't true we're never leaving iraq we're still in japan which brings me to afghanistan obama touted progress saying that the surge worked and that the train afghan forces successfully too but that's a load of crap unless you count record u.s. soldiers suicides and green on blue insider killings as success and you know what that's all that was mentioned about afghanistan the longest war and u.s.
6:07 pm
history siphoning billions of tax dollars to kill innocent people i guess it's not that big of a deal but the one thing last night that really resonated with me was the bipartisan support for keeping the military's strong. here's obama promising that no cuts will be made and there's romney promising to almost double its size look eyes how sad is it that two warmongering establishment corporate puppets are the only two choices presented to americans wake up folks at home losing a choice a vote for either of these two empty suits is a wasted vote and no matter how much the corporate media or the commission on presidential debates tries to stifle alternative thought the voices for change will never be silenced in fact there's a third party debate area right here on our t.v. tonight at nine pm eastern so tune in broaden your perspective.
6:08 pm
on november fifteenth of last year the n.y.p.d. viciously crackdown on the occupy wall street movement in zuccotti park the police department had the green light to a vic protesters from the encampment and for all those remained they met the fate of severe police brutality now it wasn't until later that we would learn that the police department technical systems response unit or toru captured on film thanks to the group anonymous over sixty hours about material has recently been leaked showing arbitrary arrests physical abuse and press oppression take a look at some of that footage. was. was. was. was. the. so
6:09 pm
to hear talk to us more about this and what supporters of the occupy movement are doing now to highlight this police brutality and joined by a shoe shop of the occupy p.r. working group thanks for coming on shore thank you very much for having me abbi so cronje i don't think a lot of people know why the n.y.p.d. has this toro unit their purpose is really undefined their end product isn't even really seen by those who are featured in it is there any sense of what tara actually does with this footage they film of protests i think they would have the n.y.p.d. and the mayor's office would have you believe that tarot is actually there to protect civilians and to have video footage available in the case of police abuses but what we've seen obviously in this case is that the man has been back in the police when they've been abusive to his protesters and video
6:10 pm
footage. they refused to release it and the way we got this video footage obviously was through an anonymous release so i noticed in watching some of the footage that there's a lot of obvious edits in the material just kind of jumps from one scene to the other particularly when the arrests are taking place did the n.y.p.d. have the opportunity to edit this film to cover up more severe police brutality than we've seen where they would certainly seem that way and what we're calling for is a full release of full edited footage that actually shows what really went down and of course some of. in at occupy wall street we have our own media department of course which was one of the strings one of the sources of strength and video footage shows a lot of police abuse but of course police destroyed some of our computers our
6:11 pm
cameras so we know we don't have as as my. footage as extensive footage as we could have had so it does appear that it's and it is really the goal is to get their ip to release full footage unedited footage sure now there's a group of volunteers who are aggressively logging as you said what kind of things are they looking for i mean will this be enough to build a solid investigation against the n.y.p.d. here. oh well really it's the point of the project is to log as much footage as we can possibly log showing direct and obvious abuses we occupy our very aware that there was a lot of abuses we were at the wrong end of those abuses many of us. and here i witnessed it i was there on november fifteenth i was a short distance away throughout the night actually. we saw. our
6:12 pm
fellow occupiers being beaten being abused and. cops just coming in and grabbing. property like cameras and computers with absolute for no absolute for for absolutely no reason whatsoever they face no threat from protesters and they chose. to grab protesters to arrest protesters to and even to prevent the exit of some protesters from the park for those who didn't want to be you know to confront the police or to stand down the police so. we aim really is to provide as much evidence of police abuse as we possibly can so that we press so that those who want to and hopefully the idea is that many occupies will want to press charges and get to the bottom of the abuses there un human rights. i forget exactly the title. but
6:13 pm
somebody from the human rights commission pointed to the fact the media is not holding international human rights matter so you know if the united states is going to i just heard your last segment where you were talking about the the photo debates last night the candidates and and if they're going to. and. and pose as if the police of human rights across the water there are ignoring their own thought thuggery right here in u.s. soil but i want to ask you one last question if we know that there was a class action lawsuit against and i pity for the abuses that took place already what happened with that you have about forty seconds here. the suit is actually still under way and we haven't actually gotten i'm not i'm not at liberty to a much more other than the fact that it is still under way very notable. refused to
6:14 pm
defend the one cop in particular jury who is seen all over the footage. of the pepper spray incident on wall street so that's notable because it suggests that the n.y.p.d. did not feel that he was innocent and could be defended by the n.y.p.d. well thank you very much i saw the n.y.p.d. abuse firsthand they were making up rules on the spot arresting people for no reason thank you for what you do kuranda. the occupy p.r. working group thank you very much for having me. so if you like what you see so far go to our youtube channel at youtube dot com breaking the set and subscribe to our facebook page at facebook dot com going to set follow me on twitter abby martin the states who care about one of the most influential groups that you've probably never heard of the next.
6:15 pm
presidential election is not just about obama and romney they're also third party candidates on the ticket and they will influence its outcome see a debate among this nation's major third party candidates right here on our team like over twenty third. i will fight all that i also promised that i'd like every single day i'm ever heard to. write. my own.
6:16 pm
little. little. interlude. have you ever heard of the build the bird group if you haven't you are not alone but today you're going to learn that it's probably one of the most influential groups that you've never heard of you see the ruling establishment has been around since one thousand nine hundred fifty four and every year some of the world's most powerful people gather in a luxury hotel in secret around the world and what they do remains mostly
6:17 pm
a mystery but one independent production company is seeking to bring attention to the secret meetings that have until recently gone mostly unquestioned check out this clip from a new documentary called the turning point. much about that build their very being build the bird bird in recent years the lack of public from the mainstream media building bird group has been a problem as far as raising awareness about these conferences people say that they control the media talking about the secret establishment c m and where is the mainstream media where's fox m.s.m. you see any of these stations they are not here. so to talk about the need to reveal the truth and the journey making this film i'm joined by founder of press for truth t.v. and turning point producer dan dix dan thank you so much for coming on something for having me so that i was covering the builder group for our team i saw you there you traveled all the way from toronto to be there as well and we just saw in this clip very little people know what it is talk about what the why the builder group
6:18 pm
is in point and important and why you decided to make this documentary. i sure as you said in the introduction there these guys have being pretty much operating in the shadows ever since one thousand nine hundred fifty four and it's only intel just recently that people have started to learn about just who these guys are and that's because of the with the rise of the independent media i remember the first time i covered bill berger i was back in two thousand and six and when i was there and i was six there was next to nobody and then here we are six years later and there had to be at least a thousand people at this protest so. we just want to be exposed to the group let people know exactly what these guys are all about and the bottom line is these are some of the most powerful and influential people in the world presidents prime ministers military men media moguls and they are meeting in secret behind closed
6:19 pm
doors discussing foreign policy so we feel it's something that people should at the very least be aware of so that's why we felt we wanted to make this film i went down to chantilly virginia to cover the latest meeting and when we got back we decided you know what we think we have something here and the makings of a good documentary so we decided to compile all of our portage and put everything into a solid comprehensive film that we're getting set to release very soon you know whenever things are being done in secret being drafted talked about is usually not not very good dan but most people have talked about bill burkett just said you know it's just a meeting nothing important happens there i mean what do we know for sure dan it has already come out of these billboard meetings. ok well let's talk to you know we don't want to speculate about what sorts of things may be coming out or this and that but certainly they've been exposed for many of the things that have happened
6:20 pm
over the years back in two thousand and six it was revealed that they were discussing some of the. housing bubbles and yet coming economic crisis which ended up happening just two years later a lot of times with bill bird you can kind of see what's coming down the road just by paying attention to who's there is a good way to find out what's going on. a lot of times are very influential people who get invited to build the bird will very soon often end up in very high positions of power we also point out because i think a part of the story that a lot of people are missing is also the canadian connection to build the bird and we try to expose a lot of the major players in that regards as well and how bill berg influences the canadian finances canadian politics and we point out a lot of the major players in that regards as well and then just by getting the
6:21 pm
information out there you know we can we can generally forecast what kinds of things we may potentially see in the future. so you pay attention to who is going and then you can get a better idea of what sorts of things they might be doing right it's definitely the who's who are around the world than we've seen year after year i mean the partial list that they released on our website of course we know that there's more to that people saw multiple people who weren't on that less but then what do you think about other think tanks like the council on foreign relations the atlantic council the trilateral commission i mean are these just as important do you think that build a bird is more significant than these think tanks where i mean c.e.o.'s and heads of state are also discussing and potentially drafting foreign policy. i think all of these think tanks are extremely important to pay attention to and interesting point about groups like trilateral commission c.f.r. and bill bird it is you'll often find a lot of the same people who are
6:22 pm
a part of all three of these groups some of us call them the triple threats and when you find some of these politicians bankers very influential people who just so happen to be you know goldberg steering committee and then maybe they'll also like ten trilateral meetings that also c.f.r. meetings it's hard to deny that these people have an incredible amount of influence . on shaping the direction of the world really and what you start to see some of these triple perhaps as we call them you start to connect the dots and you say you know what these guys do have a lot of power these guys do have a lot of influence and sometimes they just may influence one another at these meetings and to to to get things done right resentful when i go ahead. well we. pointed out in other films too for example in regards to setting up the north
6:23 pm
american union for example in ninety six paul martin the former prime minister of canada was bill byrd meeting john chretien and alan gottlieb all these guys were instrumental in their always putting together stepping stones towards an any you. alan gottlieb was instrumental in the key a john christian was involved with now have. paul martin was involved with the s.p.p. of course stephen harper is also built a bird member and he is involved with the north american leaders summit so a lot of these time a lot of the times. these guys might not even necessarily understand how they're connected with one another but they're certainly carrying out the bidding of the steering committee right where you see madeleine albright colin powell henry kissinger on the steering committee said these think tanks i mean a lot of neo con has a lot of people who've been out of politics par still definitely directly influence and policy really quick to wrap it up though dan and the trainer were reminded that
6:24 pm
this is something that the mainstream media of course has doesn't touch and i'm guessing they see fox and why is this and what does it say that the media's silence can be bought it about thirty seconds ok well yeah that's just it the fact is these guys aren't covering it enough because for the most part they are attending the meetings and they have a strict rule of secrecy and they are simply not allowed to discuss the things that are going on there and so there is a tight control on the information that gets out to the world of bellville berg but that is changing we call this film turning point because it is the turning point for the build berger group things are changing the rise of the independent media is making it more and more difficult for guys like this to operate in the shadows and that's also a big part of this film is documenting the rise. of turning the independent media and how we are shining a bright bright light on the shadows that are going on in the building group so
6:25 pm
people can stay tuned for that coming to you tube on november fifth and you can also get the d.v.d. from preston truth dot ca or download it from press for truth t.v. thank you so much definitely to shine a light on the shadow government dan dicks press for truth t.v. thanks so much for coming on thank you. i i. so guys there's actually one more interesting thing i heard last night at the debate drones that made the cut only twice though take a look at what romney had to say. well i believe that we should use any and all means necessary to take out people who pose a threat to us and our friends around the world and it's widely reported the drones are being used in drone strikes and i support that entirely and feel the president was right to the usage of that technology and believe that we should continue to
6:26 pm
use it to continue to go after the people who represent a threat to this nation and to our friends. shocker you know when it when it comes to the economy there are so many differences when it comes to the unwarranted killing of mostly innocent civilians well no disagreement there in fact romney agrees completely with the drone king's policy across the muslim world to infinity and beyond even when that means a ninety eight percent failure rate that's right according to c.n.n. the number of high level targets killed when compared to total casualties is extremely low as to make it at about two percent. and what that's doing to the wellbeing of the pakistani people is absolutely disgraceful just the threat of a cia drone strike is causing mental trauma for families in pakistan who have changed their way of life for fear of an attack at any moment even car pakistan's foreign minister talked passionately about drones when she discussed why there's so much anti-american sentiment in the country in fact she explained that there are so
6:27 pm
kind of productive that they're actually causing more violence with a huge surge in suicide bombings she said pre nine eleven there was one suicide bombing in pakistan and since two thousand and seven there have been a real hundred and fifty two folks this is real but according to the cia reality doesn't matter because instead of scaling back or at least reexamining the program the agency is seeking to do the opposite yes just last week we learned the cia is urging the white house to approve more drones the agency is proposing a thirty percent increase and guess what there is a new country on the docket. probably has been taken over the northern part of mali by al qaida type individuals. yup molly i guess romney is just trying to lay the groundwork for a budding u.s. france drone warfare collaboration because you see right now france is moving surveillance drones into the country and they'll begin lots of special help from
6:28 pm
the u.s. isn't it beautiful when the power of drones can bring two countries together look here's the bottom line it starts with surveillance drones and that doesn't do the trick it moves to arm drones it's not a big leap because a justification always succeeds the other and we're left with a cycle that's just as vicious as the ideology that started. the mission. critical free in-store charge. the maintenance free. three stooges priests. download free blogs just plugging videos for your media projects a freebie deal done to our teeth dot com. you know sometimes you see
