a head start and i'm about to meet two who got a taste of the real thing at london two thousand and twelve. constantine and christina were among a very select few chosen to head over to the u.k. . just in the last you know they had to become division between. us from russia. and russia have to say it's a centrist. group for us from socially. it was a competition in which skills to check our skills and. skills and personal qualities and they learnt plenty of things that should be a great help for the sochi games but has. no problem. with. stand always so. we saw the competition with their. dance.
12:32 am
by twenty fourteen there could be up to twenty five thousand volunteers ready to join them in sochi so we'll see just people do the organizers want. to stand behind . your country and their presence at the last. always so ready to go. and there's no shortage of applicants wanting to prove themselves especially here in the host city. now looking off for all the visitors to sochi twenty fourteen is obviously going to be a massive job but that doesn't mean that everybody makes the cut i'm going to meet one man who thinks he's got what it takes bloods i mean you ready for this yeah excellent nineteen year old flood is a student at sochi university and understandably he's nervous about the recruitment process my time come along with these questions finally today. i don't know what to expect so what sort of things do you think they're looking for
12:33 am
maybe they will ask some questions about my previous ones to wreak experienced. something like details of my private life no wild land settle down to his interview the head recruiter showed me around to university was one of just twenty six higher education facilities in russia picked as a recruitment center for more than one hundred fifty choices. many of their interviews are done over the internet but those who do come in for a face to face may just have a little luck on this saw it. on the seventh of february twenty twelve two years to the day before the start of the twenty fourteen olympics will at this volunteer heart and krasnaya polyana. each aspiring volunteer is asked to touch the heart to symbolize that all of the volunteer dreams will come true. and that means that the shore one hundred percent to become volunteers of the twenty fourteen olympics going to yourself. and you know you're a volunteer. feeling the love that i gave you around half an hour later it was

finished and in confident mood. my previous experience in the ring my previous experience in team building things like that. so i had. a little experience so there was no problems in. this questions so confident that we wouldn't. yeah we were in our volunteers but into the home so it's my dream it's going to take a while to fill all the available spots but those who are hoping to be selected a really getting into the spirit of things the olympic volunteer movement in sochi isn't just about the olympic games many of the people here want to serve their community and leave a lasting legacy and i'm here to see. what they're up to. in the sochi high school a group of young people are preparing for a generations for peace conference. set up by prince faisal of jordan it's an

international organization dedicated to developing youth leaders. and peace building is being run by philip and pavel who are putting together a whole days of activities. everyone's must before trump's initial press conference where the organizers are hoping to get the g.s.t. message across to the media. here just for them to teach people skills so long that before these buildings they move you know that the dialect is fiction through the preschool and this was a generation for peace teach them what these guys will still be working during the olympics was to some of the stuff that some of the movie yes. and once the local press is rolled in. and his ideas for the next few days. they get. to more. seats if you look at those pictures because they look at.

the following morning we were split up into three groups and it was time for a few bonding sessions with money to meet. funders this is a town the focus is strongly on sport it wasn't long before we were moving around. short little bits is the key to victory in this case was. that the russians are. ones who don't have a chance to get to know each other i wanted to find out what people were hoping to take away from the campaign i think a lot of graeme and i also. tried. to think that it actually you don't see with an option that's one skill yeah of course first of all skills. self-assurance
12:37 am
to be in there to help the people i'm some looking to eventually lead come. princes of their own are. actually what interested me in the mission of generation for peace. through sports and sports activities and working with people mostly with here with children. promoting tolerance is one of the central ideas behind generations for peace and many of the group exercises focus on conflict resolution by the end of the week my team will be making it says human a presentation showing how they feel they can best be achieved. i think even if it's hopeful the moves both at the front of the. house to the complete. them say what issues were raised to the major problems how could they. be that. there are
12:38 am
a number of seminars and question and answer sessions but there's also plenty going on outside the classroom. this is the generations for peace main goal to develop peace sustainable peace and tolerance through sports so all the delegates need to sport programs should be taught. they will. after the camp so they will have an example. that they will implement off in the camp so this is extremely important and there can be many more universal sports. under what . he seems like he knows what he's doing. but with the generations of peace most being policy told him he was playing an appropriate game and philip and pavel household series of activities lined up for

us on. this friday so you want. if you have no idea you need to ask the person who has no sleep so i say yes or if you have seen about someone as my space or ok next stood up but it's the bottom english should be pretty good at giving the whole way. and the focus here is on guessing everyone involved trolls and competition. as the main goal of our. programs is still. the communicate and connect people use each other that on the one team i guess and i'll jump on the mix it seems and all the wanting coming gets just so be destroyed by this between two teams and so is the stereotypes that food both can play on the two teams again that's how it has been along the fascinating day of the g.s.t.

end of the world and already making a difference. in addition to my regular work i am also engaged in volunteer activity volunteer activity is basically focused on old people and children that's our target. our volunteers take care of people who can't leave home for one reason are they other maybe they're sick or something like that for example. when we help them well go to the shop or just help out around the house of the once. so i met up with a moment of the home visits. to see that it's so different the truth is. it's become too. large a scheme to help out the people. every

week the group visit different homes around sochi to make themselves useful whether it's helping out with the shopping cooking or if you household chores. for your. party for your prince of society this. held a great deal but you believe there's nothing better than an old newspaper story which is new certainly the work of the. cleaners here. as well but it's all in a good time for valentino that brings its own rewards. it's great to help people who are. can't help themselves that this combination of hard work and a charitable spirit is exactly the sort of thing that generations for peace is trying to encourage us of course they're always looking for more support and back

at camp the delegates were learning how to ask for backing. corrina presenting a pitch as to why some local leaders should join generations for peace and now she's trying to convince the audience here. public speaking is another skill that's developed in the forums encourage the participants to face their fears. i was. on the list of things large it's not large but still. but practice makes perfect and the exercises give everyone's confidence a boost and there are plenty of games to break up the day. for celebration that it was the. kids they were. in the future all the volunteers will lead activity groups for local children and they want to make them as entertaining as possible i i think.

12:50 am
that's a lot of coastal. aside from conflict resolution we also saw presentations on creating sports programs for children of negotiation. each group used different techniques to get their points across with question and answer sessions powerpoint slide shows and plenty of games. clearly put a lot of effort in and it was well appreciates it and with the camp drawing to a close all the remains was to say if you. i didn't really know first of all what to expect when i came here but i think thanks to classes fantastic organization and your amazing enthusiasm i've seen a lot of people who obviously really want to make a difference to the communities and it's been fantastic for me to be a part of it. but i certainly wasn't the only one who'd had a memorable experience. i think the most. the most valuable thing that practice

and knowledge how to build. a ship. and they. implemented all my knowledge and in practice unfortunately i think we did a lot of work we did our presentation our projects and our duty is to create some physical activity and know i know how to do it and how did the false feel about everything. myself why a little bit because this. teaching group of people with only to train. it was a great challenge but i think we have done our best and. the program is well done and there was just enough time to create. strong memories will become fun place to store. for me.

people like these so choose future to limp movements seem in very safe. it was almost time for me to head home to moscow but i was going to have one last chance to watch the volunteers put the new knowledge into practice. like all the many better things to do on a sunny summer's day them to come out and play with your friends but not every parent has the time to spend to supervise them and that is what people like the next year coming. every sunday they run an open play session for local children of all ages and as you can see it's pretty popular. bunch of old russian stock go a bit of a problem here and on the biggest. and i was i need to let you know suppose. i'm tired you know by attention to.
