civilians are bearing the brunt as israel continues to pound with a ground invasion being prepared despite international efforts to mediate peace. television planes and to not targeting civilians and collateral damage is minimal. the rebranded syrian opposition gets a royal welcome in france of the e.u. is expected to discuss whether to openly send weapons to rebels. and the u.k. government's budget handling is on the field the billions of pounds spent on bank bailouts may all go down the drain.
2:01 pm
from the new center here in moscow this is with international news and comment twenty four hours a day israel's intensifying its parallage of girls are on the fourth day of hostilities and stepping up preparations for a ground invasion militants are hitting back another iranian made rocket fired by hamas has been shot down over tel aviv meanwhile israeli precision strikes are leading to a rising number of civilian deaths international efforts to mediate peace are also being stepped up the arab league is now pledging to stand with the palestinians and says israel is committing war crimes in tel aviv. the israeli defense forces have sealed off roads around gaza declaring the area a closed military zone this is just another suggestion that a ground offensive could be imminent also israeli officials have been meeting with foreign diplomats and telling them that they plan to extend the army operations this comes off to some seventy five thousand reservists were called out and we all
2:02 pm
witnessing an increase in activity along the israeli gaza border now there continues to be heavy shelling from tanks along this border into gaza the tanks as well as all the personnel vehicles have been moved through off this border over the past few days we are also hearing from the chief of these ready defense forces for an increase in the pace of a strikes on gaza this comes just after a massive air strikes on saturday completely destroyed the headquarters of the hamas government now this is a building where just yesterday the egyptian foreign minister visited it is a building that has now been reduced to rubble at the time of the prime minister's visit there was supposed to be a cease fire in effect and according to the israelis they did not break this but we have heard from hamas back to people who were killed during this time now hamas has issued a statement in which it says it will stand alongside its people we're talking about a government that was democratically elected back in two thousand and six and if
2:03 pm
you remember at the time the world hailed the election as a sign of the muck you see in the gaza strip at the same time according to israeli statistics some four hundred and fifty rockets have been fired into southern israel since wednesday and there was a barrage earlier today as well but no reports of deaths and light injuries it's worth mentioning that most of these missiles homemade there are some that are long range missiles but they are unguided and they all by and large missing their target they are also mostly being intercepted by the as brady side into this and earlier today here in tel aviv the israelis deployed and and i. during the system for the first time ever everybody does point to the fact that this cannot be a precisely targeted operation you have the number of dead that continues to climb many many of them in fact most of them are civilians and here too we have the number of injured people continuing to increase the foreign ministry spokesperson did stress the point that the israeli army is targeting only the militants
2:04 pm
responsible for the firing of these rockets but he was hard pressed to answer the question as to why so many civilians are being killed now one of the israeli air strikes to target the home are they have mass media in the jabalya refugee camp which is arguably the most densely populated area on earth and believe you have a majority of young people we are hearing figures that as many as fifty people there have been injured many of them children and many of them critical at the same time the international community is pushing up efforts to try and deal with the situation the trim is your foreign minister in gaza to show his support for the hamas government and we're also hearing statements from both feet u.n. chief ban ki-moon and others in the international community. our correspondent paula should be keeping you updated on. as well simply follow her twitter stream for the latest you know talk live to israeli defense ministry spokesman josh.
2:05 pm
joining me there in tel aviv now your bombing of gaza is aimed at killing militants but an increasing number of civilians are dying why is this when you have weaponry and intelligence at your disposal. well let's be clear object is not just to kill hamas militants in fact we have a number of strategic objectives we have to take out these mass storage facilities of long range missiles that can now cover over half of israel's population we don't think that any country in the world would take a situation would tolerate a situation whereby in the last decade over a million of our citizens have been under constant rocket fire from the hamas regime now let me point out that recently i must have made a decision to actually escalate the situation which led us to take the decision that it was time we took out the leader of the hamas military wing. and immediately conduct
2:06 pm
a pinpoint strategic strike on these long range project missiles we can hit all across israel pinpoint strategic missiles that are actually killing civilians i've spoken to eyewitnesses in guards on this very challenge the last two days saying that this isn't targeted bombing this is indiscriminate bombing happening. let's be clear i've heard my minister say over and over again that we must conduct only the most pinpoint precise preventative attacks i can tell you that hamas are once again guilty of this double war crime they hide beneath civilian populations shooting from within mosques shooting from within schools shooting from within densely populated areas at our civilians so was they are putting their own civilians in danger which by the way does not surprise me if we look at the way the hamas regime has been treating its own people for the last five six years as they've been in power putting behind their own civilians all shooting on a daily basis at our civilians hiding hiding under israeli and we ask that you take a hiding behind their own civilians in gaza it's one of the most densely if not the
2:07 pm
most densely populated in region in the world so where can those civilians go when being bombed by israel in this way. when hamas are hiding rockets beneath mosques and hiding rockets and missiles within school yards and firing rockets actually next to the very hotel where most of the foreign correspondents are staying you just have to look at all the reports coming out across the world today unfortunately it's a very very difficult predicament and that's why the israeli government uses the most precise munitions is why the israeli army sends flies out to the population even before we conduct these precision strikes a lot of minimize civilian what those precise munitions are doing to the people of gaza we've managed to speak to several governesses civilians who are suffering in this bombing campaign the moment here's what they had to say let's have a listen but then the civilian population here is densely packed in every house there are about twenty people until quarter to six everyone was asleep after daniel
2:08 pm
last began shaking this entire area sixteen killings were bombing innocent harmless people many were injured my family had four injured we were listening to the news to find out what's going on in gaza. yesterday we slept for a while because we wanted to risk what we woke up and rubbed my brothers you would think god all the life but what should we do now the roof collapsed walls are destroyed the children under the rubble overdue. and we were all sleeping parents and me with my sisters and their sixteen missile hits our house we were taken to hospital thank god or live but that's how it was. so what do you say to these people in gaza. well first of all i'd like to point out that actually last night and every night in particular last night even in the middle of the mission we had air force jets that were flying over and they had
2:09 pm
a precise target ready to be hit and the hamas organization or other organizations in the region board civilians to the location and we don't vertically a type we are doing our utmost to protect civilians on both sides while hamas is going out of its way to not only put their own civilians in harm but attack our civilians on a day to day basis you bomb the prime minister's headquarters which is not a militant target but the office of a democratically elected representative of the gazan people so how do you justify that that is not. militant h.q. or is it. a must let's remember is a terrorist organization recognized as a terrorist organization by the e.u. by the united states by much of the international community and we're talking about a democratically elected organization democracy includes a civil state a state where by there's a freedom of press whereby there is free rights for women and freedom of religion and freedom of expression the fact is hamas is an oppressive regime is an oppressive terrorist organization that does as much harm to its own civilians that
2:10 pm
it actually does to all civilians as well but then you still were trying to negotiate with this what you call as a terrorist organization to achieve peace and in that very delicate moment when it looked like a permanent truce was on the table your forces assassinated the military commander of hamas on wednesday so it looks as if you don't really want peace first of all first of all. first of all you're talking about negotiating with peace let's remember that the quartet which is made up of the russia of russia the united nations the e.u. and the united states have a very clear conditions for negotiating peace with peace with hamas they say hamas must recognize israel which they have not done and must must put down their weapons which they have not done and hamas must recognize all previous international agreements which they have not done so let's remember that we actually accept the quartet and the international community as conditions for making peace and potentially talking with the hamas regime and it's hamas that consistently refused to recognize those conditions could you be possibly sparking off a serious international crisis now with another war developing in the region
2:11 pm
a very volatile region as it is and putting the israeli nation at huge risk this couldn't come at a worse time for the middle east well unfortunately how must a completely and utterly responsible for this we did not choose the timing ok last weekend there was a rocket fired at them at a jeep in the heart of israeli territory this was followed by a barrel of artillery rockets mortars and missiles again these rockets can hit up to a million israeli citizens if you are going to respond the only other country which responds these rockets really are not proving to be as effective as obviously that from israel if you've got your highly sophisticated which is a military defensive system which is clearly working very well and really the firepower that is coming in from israel to gaza is nothing compared to what's happening coming out of gaza into israel and you know what is i'm trying to say
2:12 pm
look at it can definitely be deadly. i was i was in korea to malaki a town in the south three days ago in fact today goes through days ago sorry and i was witness to the most horrific scenes a baby covered in blood three people killed in cold blood while we mourn every loss on both sides and we generally do mourn all the loss of any collateral damage any civilian populations on the palestinian side as well you look at the response of the hamas regime of the gaza government they were celebrating this they were celebrating the loss of innocent israeli life so i remind you that they work it's can kill they have killed and unless we continue protect us it protect our citizens they will continue to kill and israel is accused of committing war crimes now by the arab league and a lot of condemnation from other countries how do you react to that while there we seem to have the support of much of the international community right now who recognize israel's right to defend itself against these indiscriminate attacks against the citizens if anyone is guilty of a war crime it's hamas that hides behind the civilian population shoots from
2:13 pm
mosques schools in densely populated areas at our civilians so what next are you going to launch a ground invasion my minister said very clearly minister ehud barak and indeed the prime minister has sent out a ground operation is a possibility it's an option that we must take in order to restore the quiet and the contour of the region became quite in game four years ago both sides of operation cast lead four years ago what is that achieved apart from of course at that time many civilian deaths in gaza. well unfortunately until hamas realized that indeed we are here to stay and they cannot keep foreign rockets at us and f. our civilians on a day to day basis we will have to act in order to restore that to towns in order to restore the quiet to the region thank you very much indeed israeli defense ministry spokesman josh we appreciate your time thank you joining us live there in tel aviv thank you thank you sir but of course where we are closely following the escalating conflict on our web site r.t.
2:14 pm
dot com that's where we're asking you who is to blame for the on going bloodshed and this out in the field you think it is israeli presence blockading palestinians are responsible for the conflict sort of saying it's prime minister netanyahu boosted his reelection bid to generate around two tons less of you condemn hamas terrorist type attacking from behind human shields and exactly the same amount put the blame on the un for not recognizing honest and straight party to its where you can go and cast your vote good to hear from. a top flight russian premier league game has been marred by violence we'll have more on that story for you in a few minutes from now this is r.t. live in moscow.

it's perched atop a jaw drop and the view from the kremlin stretches as far as the eye can see. for a city of siberia for centuries. it lost its economic importance even before it was bypassed by the chance i bear in railway but the a spiritual center. scenes like these are a yearly occurrence thousands of orthodox worshippers give themselves implicit water to commemorate the baptism of jesus. in the fifteen eighty s. the russians had only just conquered siberia taking it from the muslims. surrounded by enemies to balls to be their stronghold constructed on top of the city but soon

hundred people being killed daily the u.k. government's handling of its bank bailouts has come under fierce criticism after it was claimed the sixty six billion pound spent to rescue lloyds t.s.b. and the royal bank of scotland may never be recovered the report from m.p.'s as the british taxpayers have already lost two billion keeping another financial institution of low sort of first reports. this is all focused around the public accounts committee investigation into the sale of northern rock that was the bank that caused the mine a couple of years back was one of the first to get the big banking bailout is estimated that for northern rock the type state is set to these around two hundred billion but that's not the worst of it because of the s. and lloyds bank oh also had a lot of typos money funded into those bailouts and the taxpayers could be set to release a staggering sixty six billion pounds on that is very very hard to wrap your head
2:20 pm
around those figures so we're going to try and compare it really the amount that was put into those bailouts to what we have in the moment spending on social welfare such as pensions education health care and defense these figures coming at a time when everyone here is struggling in a daily we're talking to people who are really really struggling to survive in the country in the midst of this very very tough economic times and you kind of got this it was a good report very hard hitting report telling us that there was a monumental collective failure that the treasury was unable to pull do you respond because they look like skills and understanding so it really hurts a little bit of all the billion sorry guys we've lost that the sixty six billion you know we weren't quite on the job one of the great the warning at the very beginning with the taxpayers in line and doing now by a campaign manager robert oxley thank you for joining us today these types of stories always make me so angry because you know every day we're covering stories
2:21 pm
where people are struggling with a living wage in the way they starts to pensions that you know a tax is a rising all the time and then you have this report showing that you know sixty six billion could be lost i mean it's just cheating irresponsible with taxpayers' money all this report is a. politician to spoil it there will be words. that we were going to make money out of the banks and that propping up the banks would be you know it would be ok and there was a chorus of people from both sides of the political divide saying you know we need to back up about really what's happened is we've got to pound for them basically allow politicians to gamble other people's money and lo and behold those politicians have got very good results as is always the case when politicians are spending other people's money it's incredible how often those in power manage to get every major crisis wrong and i think we're seeing the moment in a rejection in the way that politics at westminster is out of touch the point here is it was the right it was on the war whether any lessons will actually be learned
2:22 pm
of course remains to be seen but taxpayers they think they've absolutely whopping losses at the moment at least a lot of people saying you know we saved the banks he's going to save us. a russian premier league football clash between moscow and reigning champions anita's and petersburg was about enough that the numbers goalkeeper was hit by a missile thrown from the stands thomas with the details anton shown in who is the goalkeeper for do you know moscow has been injured doctors have looked at him and they say that he has been blinded by this incident in fact stassi in one i took you back through this matches between st petersburg and moscow took place in the he would be area which is in the moscow region fans from st petersburg started putting the pitch with fireworks and flares one of those flares or fireworks went off in the face of the goalkeeper he went down on the pitch in pain and then after he was down on the grass and they had stopped the game it is reported that the fans continued to pelt objects at the goalkeeper at that time so the decision was made
2:23 pm
by the officials and the referees who stopped that game it's unclear whether or not that game will be continued at a later date or if. it will be given a technical defeat if you will now tensions between st petersburg fans and moscow fans have gone on since around two thousand and eight they've been at a high level at that time there was a banner that was placed at a game in st petersburg that was questionable got fans upset and more recently in september trying to game between a torpedo and you know there was a similar incident with fireworks being thrown onto the field but much worse at that time and in the same month fans then attacked their own headquarters saying that if the team doesn't play better they will start destroying property as well so there's a big problem basically between a football fans and the teams that they supposedly support but their actions at this point in time are being more disruptive to the game than being helpful now as
2:24 pm
of now there are no laws in russia that are designed to protect football teams or to punish fans right now that is being talked about as a possibility in the near future. but after the break next cause of extol the scandal behind the financial news headlines stay with us for that i'll be back with more news in thirty five minutes from the. looters that takes your breath away a few tourists travel to these paul it's no prepackaged confort but the joy of the wild is guaranteed if gagne's a zoology professor he works in the u.s. and travels to these remote areas in washington every summer as he says he confines untouched landscapes like these anywhere else in the world. we're going off the

people and bears go fishing people often shoot at them to scare them away and every year here in the region you hear about someone being killed by the predators. but at the mugger down nature reserve where we are no one disturbs the bears. another local resident who hates his peace being disturbed here is the howlers eagle in has a wingspan of two and a half meters ignace only here in russia far east because of the bundles of salmon and seagulls which feed the giant bird in his studies if gainey focuses on birds so he took me to one of his favorite places here mara island it has the biggest colony of seagulls in the region and the climb up was tough. but the prize was worth it. if there was no city or to hear a good. day you will have tons of people coming here not just to get some for me

morgan by summer class trophy morgan but sober it's been two years since the first dedicated episode of crash more. max keiser that is true it's crashed j.p. morgan by silver that's the famous image that went viral around the world we started that two years ago max why crash paperwork myself or but because it was the ability to hit them where they are vulnerable that's the point is to kick them in the teeth just like the death star remember they had a vulnerability luke skywalker flying in and it. that's what we're doing so for us our vulnerability you take it off the mark if they crumble like a cheap suit and the other point being is twofold first of all last episode we talked about the fact that there is this real world that you and i have to live in and then there's the over the counter derivatives dark pools and black pools and all sorts of stuff that they get to operate and and control the prices manipulate
2:29 pm
the prices up down whatever way they want whichever way will be most beneficial to them and this was a way to hit them where they were vulnerable in their massive short position in the derivatives market on silver and by withdrawing the physical silver which we knew to be unlimited supply you could upset this this whole facade around us of the rigging of markets. making the people vulnerable to the their shenanigans oh look they're playing a bad game of chess and let me explain a very inexperienced chess player will do everything to keep their queen intact including lose and here with j.p. morgan their queen is a mass of silver short position that they use to manipulate prices of the out money hire and of course the queen in this case also refers to blith masters who in london is responsible for massive fraud and they keep the price of film artificially but as a result they're losing the london whale and let in the u.k. the result.
