radar i'm joined by former congressional candidate liberty activists and journalists david seaman what's going on and thanks for coming on great to see you again to see you again so david last of your we talked about your congressional run we're all excited about it you're just with the drew you made a public statement why a very eloquent explanation talk about it but i think the system as it exists right now is completely broken and hopefully it won't be like that forever hopefully it will fall to a point where independent voices and young people can get into the system but it's not there right now the campaign finance laws are designed to keep honest people independent people out because i wasn't willing to align with the party i wasn't willing to take special interest money i did not have enough money to continue and i would need campaign finance attorneys and a full time compliance staff just to stay in the game that's how rigged it is they bury you in paperwork and i was getting pitched by companies by election consulting companies there said we could take over your messaging for you we can handle your

demographic data mining we can keep you in compliance with the government with the four different agencies you have to deal with or three agencies plus the states that's four in total those are you serious this is not what's in the constitution this is not what our founding fathers really intended they didn't intend for all these middle men to be there they intended it to be for somebody twenty five years of age or older to go to wall. to d.c. and represent their districts and do a public service really and now it's not that now it's a career opportunity for people to get in there and stay in there and we have a twelve to fourteen percent approval rating for congress as a whole and yet the same people stay in for decades why is that if i run a restaurant or you're in a restaurant and only twelve percent of the customers were leaving that restaurant satisfied with their meal that restaurant would be either out of business or shut down by the authorities so why is that that's a great question i mean you just heard me talk about the term of it's own people overwhelmingly support term limits and also they want to abolish the electoral college it seems like these are two things that really do this system really makes it hard for young people to get involved how how can we make this happen how do we

bring this idea to fruition if we all want this yeah there's a lot of public out at the out there i think at this point if you have enough money you can get in regardless of what you actually believe which is a huge problem i mean just as one example fifty percent or fifty one percent of americans believe in marijuana reform but only something like two percent of elected officials believe in that so it's a huge disconnect and it's just one issue where there's a disconnect i think our whole system as it exists right now is kind of a meat grinder and what goes in is our hard earned money taxpayer dollars and what comes out predator drones and warrantless spying programs and t.s.a. checkpoints and then let some of the pennies that fall between the cracks and that in the couch with some of those pennies we get education. on your budget and actual good things for society. to see how much of our taxpayer dollars are going to just death and destruction and all the smartest minds in the country working on that faster drunk. yeah exactly we need those killer laser drones you know let's

talk about the inauguration it was so absurd i mean it was just a total mess that you weren't experienced in that but i mean it was also funded by a giant corporations exxon mobil microsoft i mean interestingly enough yesterday also mark the third anniversary of citizens united of course in this court case ruling that says corporations. donated unlimited amount of funds to politicians. what do you think about the inauguration and how much of this legislation really poll loot everything that is supposedly a democracy yeah you know you're a should look like a lot of fun but it's pretty ridiculous just an orgy of cash and these big corporations putting money into it it's almost like ancient rome having people sucking up to the emperor that's what it's like these companies want to stay on the good side of the administration so they dump some money into it and the media was like oh obama is keeping it so restrained this time around just the small private celebration just came in six hundred thousand seven hundred thousand people. you know close supporters that's not

a small celebration i will never get six hundred thousand people out to an event and it's huge it costs a lot of money the security costs i don't necessarily have a problem with that but that money should not be coming from corporations who stand don't have a problem with it because i think it's absurd to have a second giant inaugural party for someone who's already been seated in office for four years plus he's a bad president did all these people just forget how bad his policies have been i mean that is a staircase waving american flags all dornan obama you're good at giving late night t.v. interviews though you know he is a good speaker that's pretty much what he has going for him i mean let's talk about the issue that the corporate media is totally failed as they're covering this and you know the ball the dime in the glitz and glamor the n.b.a. you know past again what do you think about the fact that here it is just past despite all the resistance over the last year the lawsuit i mean the protests and what the what we do here. we're turning into idiocracy culture i mean you go to the airport and it's like. amusement park for rights violations you see
