divisions within the taliban as well do they actually hold negotiations or. they fight until the occupiers the u.s. forces leave the country there's also divisions within the obama administration about this because while this war has been encouraged credibly costly to the united states as you mention the taliban have long been an enemy for the u.s. many factions in the administration see the political solution as the only possible sort of way forward i mean it's been more than clear that military might isn't enough to eradicate the taliban so somehow talks have to take place but at the end of the day i mean we've seen what happened with northern ireland for example that process has taken years and years and years to achieve and so i don't think anyone actually realistically expects peace with the taliban any time in the next few years for sure. neighboring countries you in the possible return of the time to bond well the good news is that it seems at least on the surface that most of the neighboring countries seem to want stability in the region of course continuing war

in afghanistan hurts china iran pakistan and all of the neighbors for the country are going to the problem is of course that everyone has their own vested interests pakistan for instance has also been trying to control somewhat the outcome of this they've long had channel negotiations with the pack and with the taliban but it does seem that they're at least not going to necessarily firmly oppose the process so there is some some prospects of perhaps sort of support within within the region cool snacks she. grows next he's a turning point for afghanistan because because of the pullout of u.s. troops from the country and do you think is next for the country it's really hard to say but when i was in afghanistan most of the afghans that i've spoken to have seen this deadline with the looming trepidation in fact they think that once the americans draw down and there's no indication the americans will fully withdraw from the country but of course they will leave a massive power vacuum there is the potential for the country to descend into civil war and it also really remains to be seen what happens with the elections in two
