2:29 am
i mean. i know that i'm still really messed up. in the old story so personally. it's the worst for the little three little white house or the. radio guy for a minute they. want. to give you never seen anything like that i'm still. up guys i'm having martin in the break in the set so i've got a lot of news to share with you all today first a very tragic update on the bangladesh garment factory collapse the last time i covered this the death toll hovered around three hundred people that's unfair and countless more bodies have been pulled out of the rubble and just today the death toll climbed above the six hundred fifty and it's now thought to be the worst
2:30 am
garment factory accident ever the rescue workers have managed to save two thousand four hundred of the garment boys trapped in a the debris authorities still don't know how many additional bodies remain engineer of the building has been arrested along with eight others for criminal negligence in the investigation but that's not good enough we do use this event as the impetus for better labor standards worldwide to prevent this from ever happening again and now i'd like to turn to google the internet company has recently made a historic statement by changing its palestine home page label from palestinian territories a simply palestine now it may not seem like much but for the most popular search engine in the world to shift the language about palestine could mean altering the perception of millions of people palestine's president mahmoud abbas welcome the move calling it a victory and a step toward liberation but unsurprisingly israeli officials have criticized google's change the deputy israeli foreign minister said this move. pushes peace
2:31 am
further away and creates the illusion that in this manner they can achieve the result why am i not shocked by the israeli officials trying to brand progress for palestine as backwards guys let me wrap this up i point out some positively good news this past week maryland became the eighteenth state to abolish the death penalty the reason given by the state's governor is the death penalty is proven not to work look at is no matter what opinion you hold on capital punishment it's been verified that over one hundred thirty people on death row have been exonerated through d.n.a. evidence proving their wrongful convictions obviously the system's flawed not to mention that it's often three times more costly for taxpayers and it would keep someone in prison for life so yes this is a big victory for the rule of law but there is still a whole lot of justice to be served so stick around and let's break the set. up. for a. regime anything like that. while
2:32 am
obama just wrapped up a three day latin american tour of the weekend when he visited coast to reka mexico in the dominican republic all in an attempt to strengthen ties with the region while in coasta rica alongside president. obama said one of the best ways to grow our economy is to sell more goods and services made in america to the rest of the world that includes our neighbors to the south neighbors to the south i must say is a far better term referring to the entirety of latin america and the caribbean as america's backyard and secretary of state john kerry so callously put it to term insulting enough in fact that live in a president evo morales cited it as the reason for kicking out the u.s. government's aid agency and the organization of trying to undermine bolivia's leftist government for morale this is a bold move it's just the latest culmination of tense emotions spreading rapidly.
2:33 am
across south and central america many of which many other countries have been victimized by us and forced coups over the last couple decades but the shaky relations haven't stopped the u.s. interest in pursuing the region in fact in this recent visit president obama focused much of the trip talking about trade and the economy so what does it all mean tell me get a little more insight in this changing global dynamic what's driving the attitudes of our neighbors to the seldom joined now by joe millionaire brown global strategist with you global thank you so much for coming in thank you for having me so what does this signify we just saw his recent trip kind of on the heels of the you american summit what is what prompted the change of attitude toward these countries really economics and really and truly it's not really a change in attitude it's just a different approach and attitude because the united states and europe have always really relied on the global south for their economic base so it just is how we talk about immigrants and how immigrants and their cheap labor really contributes to the american economy is the same way when we broaden that out to an international
2:34 am
perspective and right now obama he said a little bit of a pig so i think a lot of people remember in his first campaign where he talked about changing nafta in order to put jobs back in the rust belt here in the united states now and my guess is a lot of that is a lot of corporate interests that are funding his campaign they're really pushing him on this free trade policy and they're pushing him and now spinning it to say that americans can get jobs as a result of that particularly we're looking at natural gas so the united states is experiencing a natural gas boom and an oil boom and they're looking at these countries which are buying more american products my aunt was actually in town this weekend from panama and she's complaining about the prices of everything going up so that tells you about the u.s. influence that is growing in the region and you know bolivia kick you know the usa i sway a lot of course staunchly against us imperialism. saying if you want to build a base in my country let me. build one in miami i mean our other south american
2:35 am
countries and central american countries taking as a stern approach against this kind of new wave i mean they know they see they know that it's mostly corporate what's the message that they're trying to send is happening in the regions it's not happening as much in central america central america has really traditionally been more conservative than south america for i think in. proximity for instance in the fact that the drug trade is really the closest in central america the united states really has a lot of a stronghold so you'll see a more right wing influence and that really came to a head in two thousand and nine when we saw a coup in honduras it was the first coup in latin america in twenty five years so it was extremely important to show that that backlash would anyone in central america who tried to ally themselves with chavez and the more socialist movements in south america that they wouldn't take it we even saw a coup in south america in pair of why well that's also disputed i should say it's officially an impeachment but many people are saying that it was
2:36 am
a coup because president he was again he was adopted more of kind of this socialist rhetoric and there's always going to be that push and pull you know whether the united states is there militarily were always there ideologically. well put in especially seeing you know how it is really a secluded now murder capital of the world really tragic. and you talk about the move away from traditional polish politicians in these regions with some of the first indigenous presidents in the region venezuela. as being the region's first indigenous president there what effect is that symbolism alone having on the politics of the countries in the region well it definitely empowers people from the poorer classes that empowers people of color who are indigenous and of african descent and we look at the interesting thing about him pushing out usa ideas that this is not the first time that he kicked out a u.s. funded organization in two thousand and eight he actually ousted the d.a. so the drug. foresman agency and he is a former cop which means that he was
2:37 am
a coca grower so he used to grow the plant that is used to make cocaine so those are some of the real reasons that we're seeing a lot of tensions and even seen mexican president calderon who said that he wants the united states to explore all options in order to curb the drug trade so right now unfortunately the united states is focused on the supply as opposed to the demand we are one of the most greedy in terms of consuming drugs in the world and you know simple economics tells you that if you cut down the demand the supply will shrink but we've not done that our whole policy is to go after in latin america in particular to go after the supply to spray fields with poisonous chemicals that are even affecting children such that people are having birth defects you know asthma except that's been our policy so that's why you're seeing presidents like able morales who are more on that left side really pushing back against united states because they've experienced first hand what kind of
2:38 am
conditionality is come with a little bit of the drug war i mean well that would take away the millions tens of millions of dollars from these banks that are laundering drug money legally through the fight of course we're not going to see that and didn't you know not all of the countries are prospering in south america obviously it's a huge region but some are i mean what are countries one of these countries done to be regarded now as the new global economic power players now kind of being a lot of in the brics nation etc but now with the brics you know brazil being the first be in the brics you're really seeing a large export economy and they're actually benefiting from attracting europeans in particular and north americans to their countries to come in and work so one of the reasons you saw the european union really cozying up to latin america is that you're seeing this phenomenon where the remittances flows the money sent abroad are not coming from europe to the global south they're going in reverse they're coming from the global south to the north so you're seeing. and particular lot of
2:39 am
portuguese in the diaspora that are sending money back home and you're seeing that because of the huge economic crisis that's happening in europe all the austerity cuts people are going overseas and even taking jobs from people in the global south because they have more education they may speak more languages different skill sets so they're going overseas to boost their own economies which is something that obama may be taking a little bit of a page from all thank you so much brown global threat of global for breaking it down. if you like to see so far check us out on roulette hulu dot com. there you can watch the latest episode of the show like fridays with featured my interview on gun crap again with catherine austin scroll through much every show since about the middle of summer go favorite common our doing at hulu dot com so i bring in a set of take a break from my preaching but stay tuned here but the kent state massacre and how the government helped cover it up.
2:40 am
thank. you. every piece of metal. and every one of those who will step on the red square on the ninth of may are ready. for the big green day parade. want the live coverage on our.

i think going down of the sun and good morning we will remember that we will.

the scenario you're in a group of your friends are at an antiwar rally on your college campus suddenly or advance by hundreds of armed troops a shot rings in the air and it's immediately followed by a barrage of gunfire and the smoke finally clears four people lay dead and nine others wounded this is exactly what happened at kent state university on march fourth one nine hundred seventy this past weekend marked the forty third anniversary of this dark chapter in american history or national guard troops shot sixty seven bullets in just thirteen seconds killing for an armed college students and at the time kent state became a substantial turning point in the antiwar build up against the vietnam war now for the last forty three years the government's narrative has remained the event was a tragic and unfortunate accident
2:43 am
a recent forensic evidence suggests that something far more sinister really happened that day i can state it's being presented by an organization called the kent state truth tribunals whose petition to relaunch an investigation of the incident was just accepted by the u.n. human rights council here to talk about the case and the new investigation is laurel krauss the co-founder of the kent state trees tribe you know whose sister was among the protesters tragically killed that day laurel thanks so much for taking the time. it's my honor to be here so what is the forensic evidence that disproves the government narrative of what really happened that day. in two thousand and ten and a forensic internationally acclaimed forensic expert stuart allen analyzed the can states to be taped he was commissioned by the cleveland plain dealer and. took a look at the tape for the first time from a digital point of view using k.g.b. software to make go faster slower inhibit sounds explain it enhanced sounds
2:44 am
basically he could he found the kent state order to shoot which had been denied for forty years along with of for seventy seconds before that command for low caliber pistol shots fired by the kent state sniper terry norman was also working for the f.b.i. . so so just so people understand the government claimed before that they heard a shot fired which was their reason to open fire on the students correct. immediately after the shootings actually called the massacre. the american leadership and ohio national guard leader generals all pointed that they responded to sniper fire at the guard felt under attack they also said that the students were overrunning them there's no photograph graphic evidence or video evidence of that and the sniper fire was created by an f.b.i.
2:45 am
informant for. so they were given a command to fire at a responding to a provocative who are working for the f.b.i. who shot the initial shots also read reports that the r r o t c building was set on fire by undercover is but moral my question is why would the government purposefully shoot upon coincidence when kent state did and have been such a turning point for so many people to act and join the protest against the vietnam war i mean it seems like such a bad policy that it grossly backfiring. well it would have been does the united states at that time and president nixon announced it they were going to be having the cambodia they were announcing the cambodian invasion on april thirtieth one thousand nine hundred seventy eight the fact remains and it was actually it's documented that the united states was bombing cambodia and laos for a solid year before that this announcement was planned it's it's our feeling that when the announcement was was made he also planned domestic battles against the
2:46 am
students which they considered new laughs from the huston report if it gets really deep it involves cointelpro which is part of the f.b.i. and i feel the department of defense because they're truly. the only organization that benefited from the killing of anti-war protesters it's our feeling that it's it's actually an international human right for people to protest and when the state kills protesters whether they're students or any type of protester it's a it's a criminal act as well as a crime against man it goes much deeper than murder so new evidence arrived in two thousand and ten and the federal bureau of investigation or cole eric holder and president obama have refused to take a look at this new evidence that arrives from stuart allen. and i want to read an

excerpt from an article by make you have the director of project censored who wrote about this case extensively on may fourth one nine hundred seventy the u.s. government delivered its deadly message to kent state students and the world before protest in america against the wars of the pentagon and the o. d. the u.s. government will stop at nothing to silencio do you feel like that is exactly what happened that day. yes and it continues it's pervasive it's suppression it's censorship it's obvious and it leads to collusion d. entire united states government for some reason it was focused on stopping student protest they would stop they crossed the line and then immediately they covered it up they they actually cut the phone lines they had the campus shut down the entire summer they just write all the weapons associated with the zero ohio national guard that meant that they actually destroyed or shipped or or got rid of twelve thousand
2:48 am
pieces of evidence you know actually the winds and associated weapons of the ohio national guard sending them to nato new evidence just popped up the other day with a document that actually. was filed by the department of justice federal bureau of investigation figuring terry norman the agent provocateur or the person that is the kent state sniper is this was actually filed by people that witnessed him turning over his gun where there's tons of photographic evidence about that and he turned over his gun to the police and he said he had to shoot it and now they deny that he did it or that he's a person of interest by the way this weekend the kent state university opened up their new visitor center on this topic there's no mention of sniper there's no mention of new evidence except for one little piece and there's no evidence that this was about anti-war and that my sister allison. that she died repeats and she's
2:49 am
been censored and and stifled ever since the story of kent state has never seen the light of day well as storable revisionism at its finest we see that with the bush library time and time again and of course with this new penn state memorial or whatever is being built and we're still sane dissent being crushed with these less than lethal rounds you know as it's advanced over generations since ken state who has been facilitating the cover up i know they said obama had refused to see the evidence but since can't stay i mean obviously there's been an effort to reopen the investigation who has been covering this up. well it's a moving target and that's how it works and that's why they're successful you know they basically just a day they say one thing and then they say the opposite of that one thing every time it's been tried in a court case it had to be tried on civil rights my sister's civil rights come on now i mean did she get murdered by civil rights no. he was murdered by the state
2:50 am
and they have everything to lose because they were sloppy they were arrogant and they have censored everything the reality is truth always emerges it's coming up now it has a force of its own and we're happy to see that truth is coming out and maybe justice will be done soon well it's all right i don't really care it's ironic the base of the civil rights case of course certainly on her and she was just practicing our civil rights the first amendment and she was murdered for it and i wanted to really quickly get to this new investigation that's been initiated what is going on with it it's an amazing advancement in the cause and also what would justice look like for you and your family for the death of your sister. well. there's been no redress accountability or apology for kent state in fact they get this in the shins since day one every. one associated with kent state that the
2:51 am
witness is and participants anyone that was harmed by it was chased down by j. edgar hoover's f.b.i. for at least ten years following they indicted twenty five people that can twenty five basically none of this shows up at this visitor center so it shows us that they continue to office skate they continue to try to sell this cover up that is you know lame and untrue and holds no truth. basically this weekend was the big rollout for the visitor center oliver stone actually did an amazing presentation of the truth as he sees it and he pointed to terry norman as well as the efforts to contain this and i believe he said the legacy of kent state is blood. and so what's happening with the investigation that the u.n. has accepted to hear. oh yes that's our goal is in february we submitted it.
2:52 am
we submitted questions to the united nations human rights committee and they accepted our submission it's now posted at the new and h r c website where along with organizations like amnesty international and the a.c.l.u. and many other human rights groups basically every five years every participating nation needed nations must go before the human rights committee we submitted our questions they were there and we hope that the questions will be asked october twenty third tobar two thousand and thirteen definitely truth reconciliation always economic from this tragedy and prevent anything like this from happening ever again laurel krauss appreciate you uncensored the on history co-founder of the kent state truth tribe you know. i

. haven't heard by now syria is the new face of the war on terror and the syrian uprising began over seventy thousand people have tragically lost their lives while millions of others have been displaced now for the last two years the u.s. government and corporate media have been mostly silent on syria for the last few months when the narrative took a significant turn. broader point is that once we establish the facts i have made clear that the use of chemical weapons is a game changer the president said the use of chemical weapons against the syrian people would constitute a red line basically saying that the red line will have been met once there is full incorporated proof and evidence president obama has talked about red lines yes do you think bush our last word has crossed a red line. not just for one time. many many times he crossed to the president has said that moving the weapons in any kind of threatening way would be that red line
2:54 am
if you meant to prevent the transfer of chemical weapons or other even changing weaponry by the syrian regime cherish the specially in lebanon redline game changer chemical weapons red line weapons of mass destruction no more like a weapon of mass destruction and no i'm not saying that syria should be ignored what i am saying is that we should all be looking at the bigger picture first of all why would chemical weapons be enough of a reason to attack a sovereign nation when the us has consistently used them in modern warfare just in the last decade the us used white phosphorus and radioactive depleted uranium in iraq both of which defy international law but i digress back to syria eerily similar to the propaganda run up to the iraq war first came the report of chemical weapons being used then came the declaration from the defense department that assad it was responsible for using them against civilians and of course obama quickly followed by saying that this would not stand but if i if there's one thing i hope
2:55 am
this nations learned in the wake of the iraq debacle is that when the war drums are being beaten by the media and the government the people should demand to see the evidence well according to reuters just yesterday independent u.n. human rights investigators say that they had not yet seen evidence of the government forces using chemical weapons in syria in fact through their gathered testimony the evidence suggests that the rebel forces are the ones who use the chemical nerve gas sarin and as an alternative to both narratives just today the independent international commission of inquiry on syria issued a press release saying it had not reached conclusive evidence of which party is responsible. here's the deal just don't believe everything you see in here because there's a lot to more go. and on behind the scenes to take a look at the u.s. covert intelligence operations being done on the ground there you see the u.s.
2:56 am
has been supplying syria's rebel forces some of which are filled with al qaeda with the legal arms so to fight the war on terror the u.s. government has chosen to align itself with the same terrorist organization its buy in across the rest of the world. you know what they say one government's terrorist is another government's freedom fighter which is especially ironic considering the news that happened over the weekend the syrian capital damascus was rocked by two israeli air strikes in which the israeli government alleges were merely in self defense to prevent missiles from reaching hezbollah interestingly enough has a bill also supplies arms to palestinian resistance just see where i'm going with this whole terrorists is in the eye of the holder thing but look even if the self-defense argument were true this is undoubtedly a declaration of war on syria and guess what it's not the first time back in january israel reportedly bombed another shipment of anti-aircraft missiles in syria claimed to be headed to hezbollah so this latest offensive seems to be
2:57 am
falling perfectly in sync with the latest chemical weapons there but think about the even bigger picture is intervention ever the answer militarily assad using chemical weapons should not be justification to become embroiled in another war for profit and stalling a us puppet to replace assad is not going to help the syrian people after all peace through force is not peace at all.
2:58 am
the speed. will. plummet.
2:59 am
and.
3:00 am
oh. the united states appears to be a step closer to arming and training syrian rebels with the bill right now being within the holes of congress all of this despite u.n. suspicions the opposition fighters have resorted to the use of chemical weapons. and all of this out the top u.s. diplomat heads to russia to the scene as unlikely to convince moscow that the militarization of the conflict will bear any positive for it's. a holy land dispute shifts eastwards as a strange palestinian and israeli leaders rush to carry china's favor in beijing rolling out the red carpet for mahmoud abbas and million dollar deals for binyamin netanyahu.
