forces and that information will be used to carry out attacks on u.s. forces bradley manning has said why he released this document bradley manning is someone like me like many thousands of other young servicemembers who went into the military very idealistic very trusting of this government but weaving in what we are doing is was right only to witness the horrors of war the complete fallacy of why we were there the lies we're told by this government and decided to stand up and say something about it and bradley manning's voice has been much much louder because of the platform he was able to get with wiki leaks but he's one of thousands who went through that same transition and bradley manning in his own words has said this is an act of conscience that the american people don't know what's going on that we're sending soldiers to die that millions of lives are being squandered billions of dollars are being squandered in a war that people have no idea what's going on so he's aim is to stop debate about military policy and also foreign policy but at the great sacrifice is it really worth it. i would say that bradley manning knows that he made the right decision he

doesn't have to live with that that thing that so many soldiers have lived with is that guilt and shame and feeling wrong about what we were part of many hundreds and thousands of us actually stood up and said something but it is very telling that this government wanted this war to be shrouded in secrecy and as soon as someone shed some light on what's really happening when soldiers start speaking out they do whatever they can to silence the voice of those soldiers that's why bradley manning has been torture in jail for three years or i'm going to try to ruin his life over something that was a great service to the people of the united states and the world so would you have done the same thing as manning if you had the chance. well i didn't do anything heroic while i was on active duty like bradley manning did if i could turn back the hands of time i would have used my position in the military to do just that a bradley manning is one of many dozens of soldiers in the active duty military today who are using their positions in the military to organize against the war and to organize other soldiers into refusing to go to afghanistan i mean so he's part
