another place that you think would be a better option for him to hide out or is laying low right now the best thing he could do i don't think he has any good options available to him period and i don't think it's a bad thing that he is staying away from the united states instead of facing a very probable wife in prison term here those people who head unfavorably compared snowden to martin luther king jr and rosa parks had been forgetting that the civil rights activists in the u.s. forty to fifty years ago faced very short prison sentences they were not facing light sentences for their ass of civil disobedience snowden is and he will be so he can justify this time in a place that's temporarily safe but he does not have a stable life to look forward to especially not in next few years in comparison prospects them with those of say bradley manning or julian assange. he has more

room to maneuver than now and then a son just signs his in this kind of. oh mate being trapped in the ecuadorian embassy in the u.k. and it's in the fourth week of his court martial and he could very easily spend the rest of his life in prison so i think snowden from his own perspective he first of all he did the right date that leaked this information it's very crucial and like a majority of americans i'm glad this news is out there it's a very very important state break and its effects all of us but i certainly can't blame him for looking for a country that will not throw him in jail how do you interpret this kind of disappearing act that he's pulled do you think of just a way of evading the press or do you think this was more of a form of self-preservation so to speak i think it's both you know the world media is definitely not on his side especially not the american media. majority of

americans do approve of his act of leaking and telling the truth so it's quite a caper it's happening right now i don't want to distract too much from the real issues the real important questions raised by the content of his leaks for instance has this massive dragnet surveillance accomplished any of it security goals of the us media and even politicians are starting to ask that question more aggressively and it seems anything but clear that the intrusive surveillance methods have yielded the kind of security results that their supporters say they have we also have a new debate about privacy about state intrusion into our individual lives that as long as we are all right lawyer and author chase but i thank you very much for your time and insight thank you. well snowden's revelations have earned him a place in
