to do so on ecuadorian soil now what does that mean that would either mean being in a ecuador which he can't do at the moment since he has no passport or any means of getting there or that would mean applying at an embassy since embassy is and embassy grounds are essentially considered to be official soil of whatever country is in question again snowden is presumed to be stuck in that transit area so not quite clear how he could get that there has been some speculation that i could or would grant mr snowden special papers that would allow him to leave and perhaps purchase and take it and apply for asylum but again no confirmation that that's happened so again more questions than answers in regards to the fate of mr snowden and this you say you are too but he's in the transit zone somewhere behind you and sharon through the airport but we're getting a lot of speculation the moment he could in fact have left the transit zone is that really possible doing. well if we look at the facts the technical for. in order to

leave the transit area i mean how did he get here in the first place he bought a flight that would have taken him to cuba and route to ecuador because there's no direct flights to ecuador in order to do that's the reason that he was able to enter russia is because it was a transit flight and that and that means he doesn't need a visa to be in russia because theoretically he wasn't supposed to be entering russian territory he missed that flight and now he's essentially remain stuck in that area and the united states has cancelled his passport so in order for him to physically be able to leave the transit area he would need a valid passport and a russia visa of course russian officials could theoretically come up with some sort of paperwork try to make some sort of an arrangement to do so we haven't heard any evidence at least on the record that this may have been the case or even in the works the only information that we have so far is basically based on common sense president vladimir putin made a few days ago which indicates that he believes that mr snowden is in that transit area that said it is a bit strange that we've been here for several days now and not a single order has caught sight of him granted it is
