president's advisors said about this we said it was it will still work with russia on issues that we can find common ground but it was the unanimous view of the president and his national security team that is some it did not make sense in the current environment now as far as the current environment here's what we heard from president obama on the relations with russia he he said they times slipped back into a cold war thinking and a cold war mentality and he basically accused president putin of contributing to do that cold war mentality and one of the traits of the cold war was for tat moves it is one of the things that is very destructive of cold war and one could argue that the scrapping of the summit in russia is kind of it looks very cold war and there is one more thing actually. a point that some of the pundits here are making. is that if the roles had the roles been reversed and let's say had it been

properly that's that that was a quote from president obama so you can imagine going to that big government machine and saying i've got a problem here and people have done it before including some n.s.a. officials. like thomas drake he tried to go through official channels he ended up fired and it was investigated for violation of the espionage act and then of course we're still going has the example of bradley manning right brain fart of him and he . may be sentenced to two to many many years in prison and the reaction of the u.s. congress has been very interesting you know you had a number of legislators of lawmakers who came forward with initiatives based on edward snowden's revelations and at the same time the same legislators would go on to criticize condemn edward snowden for what he did so he was like. it's like saying thank you for your leaks but we still want to punish you. all
