mean it's clearly a political trial and in my view what they ought to be doing is seeking to reconcile with the muslim brotherhood trying to form a inclusive government rather than continuing to persecute and prosecute them like this which i don't think it's going to resolve yet because it you know the one side we've got morsi saying he's still the president there's big questions over the military and did they have the right and the day to oust him like that a lot of people avoiding calling it a coup still a lot of people just treading very carefully around that word but if they don't negotiate where is this going to head do you think what do you. well the problem is if they don't negotiate then the muslim brotherhood has the power to make the country ungovernable and the country is almost all going to anyway and the muslim brotherhood can bring it to its knees through civil action and the like. what we

will see is the lack of progress towards. the goals of the revolution towards social justice and prosperity and what it will mean is in maybe six months or one year we will see a million people back on the streets again calling for change so we just and then the pendulum will swing in the other direction and it could be the army who out in the muslim brotherhood pretty even conceivably seems just unbelievable today that they could come back and think that would be a very easy coalition that if they did wouldn't you. may in the meantime in the short term this is costing egypt an awful lot of cash money the u.s. has stopped. quite a big proportion of it there because of this long is that going to last for do you think those restrictions these penalties. well you are. not is significant but the fact is the gulf arabs have stocked up with very very long
