tv Larry King Now RT November 4, 2013 9:00pm-9:31pm EST
9:00 pm
the. today on larry king hours the show everybody's talking about the walking dead will meet the stars stephen the un and lauren cohanim they may reveal something. about the series for the season there's these come on these zone and i actually just think there's a fascination with the simplicity of the apocalypse like it's the end of the wild everything's about necessity you don't even know if you're a hero but you get to see if these don't people can be hero plus and this kid just kept on yelling glenn glenn glenn over and it wasn't being like him on issues like annoying he was just he didn't know my name that was a compliment or a i just think there's a rule you probably shouldn't shout at people in general. that's all ahead on larry king now.
9:01 pm
with us on today's edition of larry king now stephen you and lauren cole they are glen re and maggie green dildos the unlikely romantic heroes while unlikely to do things i would yeah yeah i resent that as well poor oh there was so little i didn't write it i begin to like thank you very much how did you get the part by some stroke of magical luck and grace and no idea i just went in and it was my first pilot season i just moved to l.a. and i walked into an a.b.c. pilot and i had tests i was getting to test for so so excited and i thought i was going to get it wide eyed and i walked out of there and mediately got a call saying you didn't get it so i was crushed so i was i remember thinking i should quit which is so stupid because if you show it sort of five months in that's
9:02 pm
your first audition or testing for a pilot i think you shouldn't quit but. a month later walking dead came along and i booked that and. the amazing thing is if i would've pulled the a.b.c. pilot i would have been able to do. nothing at. all from the start yes i did how did you came in the second year yet as you watched it the first year i hadn't seen it i hadn't you know they're very secretive about scripts to say that you had a two page three page scene to read. it's really funny because i'm so glad i didn't watch the show before i made a bet i would have been so psyched so. terrified to do a good job in your dish and i was like read the pages trust your instinct make the tape i got the pot watched it and thought oh it's really going to happen i don't get this so i was i was glad that i wasn't as overwhelmed and so she comes in the second season and is immediately romantic could lose its course pretty bad and it was beginning to get well basically these two carriages think that they could die
9:03 pm
any second his the group he's with finds their way to off because they're in and ten they need sanctuary to find their way to. and he and i end up going on an errand and it's like. making out in a pharmacy that we get attacked by zombies because we think we could die tomorrow and then end up kind of falling in love and you had no idea the show. i mean i was just happy to have a job and to be surrounded by the people that i was surrounded by it was amazing because i would hear their them buzzing on the first season first season there and i think we have something special and we have the same none of us knew and then the first season aired and just exploded you had not watched it and i had not watched you told you're going to review the walk what did you i thought ok what's the character on one of the sides i mean just you know just like anything else and i made a tape so i was in ireland i was at a wedding a friend i thought called get ready for the wedding to this go there and then the
9:04 pm
second day they called back and they said they really liked you and. then like three they come down and then they said come for a chemistry with steven and. then they called back that night and they said you took the pot so i just flew to georgia but like i said you know it is. only i've been doing kind of on both sides i've done a few television series here. but this was kind of side by things kind of tends to be my you know. no i'm from new jersey. and then i moved same guns when i was a kid. my mom is scottish my parents left moving. to school raised in yes scotland in england so my mom had moved over here when she was young with a family and then when she met my dad and we got a bit older she wanted to move aspects i always want to be in. my parents will say yes but i thought i would be a swimmer or a psychologist so i'm swimming through psychology so i don't know where you know. i
9:05 pm
was made to believe a specific doctor. it was parents. so i went that route in which is i don't know i've always had a performing god but you know how do you explain this religion what is their relationship is that unwavering is a deep yeah yeah i think it's very deep i think it's. initially you know how it happens is very symbiotic kind of they need each other and then it turns into. more than that inches it turns into a deep seeded reason to live for each other the four season is complete have you done to this dog and no not yet you left a few left yeah he into can you people always wonder about the serious fanatic people who follow it every day i mean any him do you can give us what happens in the fourth year there's these scope for sundays and. i mean that's the thing
9:06 pm
we're so tight lipped on the show to watch because the spoils them but as the eternal plan is the internet they get around you and everything should be ok it's point as they actually they if you told me something yeah i would go out by the world right and that was spoiled and i'd get fired yeah you would get fired maybe so you don't have that so those people get knocked off on the show all the time right yeah you don't know if you're in the fifth season now. do you think they're going to. that is a board that's always a possibility but i try to be as charming as possible even if there's a plot where you don't know if it's continuing or your contract they say you know nothing. really this is what i think we've signed for seven years but it's at the behest of the sort of how long we've been arguing they don't pay you know now we have to pay them. what makes the show work in europe
9:07 pm
and you may have different opinions stephen. i think it's i think it's the group i think it's the cast the crew and everybody kind of interconnected i think it's a really hard thing to pull off what we're trying to do and everybody buckles down and despite you know the weather the there the ridiculous asks and circumstances we all kind of group together and churn it out eight days per episode minutes like reshooting mini movie where you think it works i think i think the show's really successful because people they love the supernatural element of it love how i actually just think as a fascination with the simplicity of the apocalypse like it's the end of the wild everything's about necessity you don't even know if you're a hero but you get to see if these don't people can be a hero. i think that's the fascination with the show and then we're pretty grounded as a group it was important that the two you have
9:08 pm
a chemistry for this to work right do you have a chemistry i would see so you know we're off a lot do you have a chemistry off the screen or friends we're really good friends you know you're involved in the woman. you all are you involved in. so if you want to know if you could own repression of the newer owing to your playing abroad you obviously have to be attracted on screen that can happen well talk about it with two in the next a . is your significant other ticked no she's not yeah i think you know i think we have a very mature admiration for each other we've had to do some pretty couple ish scenes like really a sex scene that we had to go for. and you know what's great is like i. make it a thing to feel comfortable with her and she makes the thing to feel comfortable with me and it's it's fun to work with as the other day with. marshall australia
9:09 pm
the great it is ago we played a lot of love scenes you know life and he said one you don't get turned on playing a love scene too hard to do the angles a weird forty people it's not a turn on is that true yeah it's interesting because you want it to be real when you watch a film and you feel like the actors are holding back in a love scene like that it read cheapens i think but at the same time you go fred when you look around and you're d.p.s. like you know something i was standing there just like if i was sitting there you're wrong this way right yeah well you know what was great was there really careful about that scene and also. i think in terms of our characters we get to play this out on television so it's over a lot of seasons and i have really identify with my character and the love he has for maggie just because it's not a film we don't get to we don't do it for two months and we're done we're doing it for four years so it's pretty cool the fans of the show are they typify the words
9:10 pm
bam short for fanatic right do people treat you as if you are maggie. in trying to jo's they scream maggie only introduce it all the editors are just going to. i just don't know people just kind of get excited about the show as a whole as well so they kind of just want to see what the show how do you feel you have the time or at the moment yeah. well i mean you know what's interesting is like when you're in people's homes and you go by a different name your character name they don't know they think they know you but they don't know you. right here in the living room so i was at the mall with her just walking around and this kid just kept on yelling glenn glenn glenn over and it wasn't being like admonishing like annoying he was just he didn't know my name and that's the only name he knew but he just kept on yelling and after a while i think i kind of got annoyed i was like that's
9:11 pm
a compliment it absolutely is but i just think there's a rule you probably shouldn't shout at people in general. this is. the show's very very physical issue or. is it hard to train for part of the show is training and say well do what he does running scene sometimes you have to run like all around the prison on this gravel crazy stuff and then stab seventeen zombies eleven times in a row just like ninety nine to ninety no. one of the letter of the summer is just. great so eminent so what's funny is will come and try to be as fit as we can at the top of the scene season just to come in but if you watch the rest of season every single year we just get more and more scrawny we just get more and more to feed in skinny and then we just pack it all down with age a couple you. do or is it true or it's fun it's fun it's
9:12 pm
hard sometimes but the motional stuff is action stuff it's kind of what we live for the action stuff that's great who before the zombie apocalypse occurred who were you glenn he was a pizza delivery boy and he was kind of the. pizza delivery boy and i think he and he was a recent grad that kind of just didn't take you know all the opportunities available to him and kind of looked at life is just stuck in this right now he's going to be this way very underachieving kid. and what about maggie she was about to go off to community college maybe i mean she lived on a farm and sort of their dad. she had lost her mother and her dad is actually remarried is another one sister so she's really lived a farm life you know with the dinner on that you. know with the yeah who just. is this
9:13 pm
a trick question. was do. you know it's got something. luring maureen to. i mean it's amazingly creative and inventive and it's also really upsetting because these are. you know i don't want to say i guess time goes on it does get easier because you sort of. you know each other morning you know you're going to stay in touch maul off to the whole thing is finished. but yeah it's pretty you mean you're with me it's art imitating life in that sense you know you are really losing a character and then you're losing your friend that you're doing well the make up people must be interesting yeah there's some jobs that if you know. across the board i think we have a different makeup crew then the walkers the zombies have a major crew sometimes we make split both sides are pretty amazing donna she done a premise she does she did
9:14 pm
a bunch of scars for me last year and she did an amazing job and then turn around and the walkers look as disgusting as ever every sickly and you're right back with more steven yeun and lauren cole the end of the walking. it was a. very hard to take i. want to get. a life that you never had that with that are right there knowing. that. it was.
9:15 pm
the. think. everybody's going to do it's job did you know the price is the only industry specifically mentioned in the constitution and. that's because a free and open press is critical to our democracy schreck allmers. in fact the single biggest threat facing our nation today is the corporate takeover of our government and across several we've been hijacked why a handful of transnational corporations will profit by destroying what our founding fathers one still just my job market and on this show we reveal the big picture of what's actually going on in the world we go beyond identifying the problem try rational debate and a real discussion of critical issues facing america have october ready to join the
9:16 pm
movement then welcome the. bag was steven young and a long cold head of the walking dead let's find out all the more about these people you grew up in new jersey what age she just moved to thirteen yeah you'd want to get thirty and i was kicking and screaming i actually have a photo from in front of our old house and i have to say it's back back back and i'm just like. it was i was really bad and i had these patches and stuff and nobody had patches when i moved in and so we had this backpack i had i had you know gained all this puffy op had sappho so many as an in there like. perhaps you're back and you didn't adapt quickly i was i mean it was so strange i feel like a lot of people have made that move now but when i moved i was like the only american present my school was one of the kid from chicago brandon coats and he was
9:17 pm
it tough to adjust it was really it was a real tough age yeah i mean you going into a new school we were in school uniform is a totally different system and. your brothers and sisters had five five i now younger you and i mean the fast and then the next one is a is younger than me and then they go down from there have an easier time they had a much easier time they were coming over kind of the top where you grew up steve i grew up in troy michigan. in the suburbs of detroit. still home or not i would still live there but i live in l.a. we would want to be nice to know you know i was really into music i was really into being annoying some of it just kind of what do they gauge an american to do still good enough for it. you know i think there's a lot of factors when it comes to asian american and the industry i think it's
9:18 pm
a matter of. amount of people trying to do it. the attention focused on that being an option for you and also that which is you know people are you would go to those and it could be everything yeah you know the asian would be black you could be anything. it was your first paid. it's a movie called the young alexander the great from macedonia and it was sold out and that's the whole time i had to be on these. and it would be. it's not finished we did we found this one scene actually we read from this one scene nine and a half years ago. where there was a gap in the story we didn't really know what what how to bring it together so they brought myself and the lead actor to greece because it we had originally found in cairo they brought us to greece they just filmed our feet and then we just talked over the whole thing to explain the story yeah but they just like watching our feet go through certain terrain and then they remember when this happened and this will
9:19 pm
you play each other boasting alex on this fictional girlfriend who was gay but i know that's a very fictional story. always your first paying job. my first paying job was. i think eighty seconds to the touring company oh yeah. yeah i did a lot of improv and schedule i could go i love it that's my roots you did sorry for before what did you do yeah i did supernatural event in diaries i did chuck you're on drugs yeah. and then i did an episode of law and order which everybody knows. i did i guess are actually this year alone or to special victims unit i list. avery johnson kept and what happens to her she is a reporter and she is pregnant becomes pregnant with someone else's baby and the rapist wants she's raped by the camera man and the rapist wants custody of her
9:20 pm
child and it's of course based on a true story is that. it was pretty hiring is actually really it was a solution show it was a huge piece they to bite off it was really good how do you foresee the walking dead. was going to say deadening. year yeah how just a wild guess it would be them and if they ended i would love for all the zombies to reanimated into humans i would love for the walking dead to end with with. syphilis we're back to normal not that it was all a dream but maybe an essence of it was all a dream and we don't know what kind of fun they're doing a spinoff actually now we don't know where it's going to be yeah but i think it's going to give an interesting because. it was working did do the walking dead miami. how do you think it's going to go. i don't know i mean we could all do it we could find salvation maybe one of us or both of you if you were planning it out
9:21 pm
would you and it ended with. the baby the baby being the last beacon of hope is a baby. that one of the main characters in the beginning of the series is laurie and she's pregnant as the apocalypse is beginning. and she dies giving birth to her baby and this baby has now sort of become. the messiah now so the baby is like the thing that we're all trying to keep alive and miraculously you know she's still with us she hasn't been coupled up we have some social media questions for steven burrill on facebook does doing this show give you nightmares about walkers is. b.s. i know i get more nightmares about not waking up on time. four am call as you go home sometimes. you know that's terrifying i did in the beginning at nine months but as i. wake up and there would be one on my pillow. but that was kind of
9:22 pm
more from watching the show like watching the first season once you're there and you're you're doing it you can kind of love friends love around and sue i want to know what was it they were seen a movie i want to give. someone i would guess is the simpson. going to mars there were thousands in those who didn't see it as a good scene chris hardwick named that sex garage says there are places where we shot that became that show other than the girl would be called a. pretty fast. all you know i mean you know are you going to shave your heads as your characters do in the comments on hall we've moved past the point when they actually do that in the comic but you never know you know i'm sure you know i just i always put it out there ever really. underneath i mean you could probably tell us them not i don't ask them if they want me to do it i'll do it by just telling the public that they want you shave your definition any i shouldn't say
9:23 pm
that and place a chance his campaigns but you would can. would be so fun i'd love to. know that at this stage no yeah. smiler ninety six s. and maggie. get married. we've gotten gains and i think it might i think i think you know yeah and let. gays and i think it was more of a a bond and glenn does mention in the episode that they don't need a fancy wedding so there's no marriage we know that we can say what isn't yes it's no marriage in the four seasons right now you know we don't know what's going to happen we don't know but we know so much that. we don't know we don't know yet yeah i do nothing yeah i learned something but what they. do on twitter is there a possible baby in the works for the characters to watch and find out. oh
9:24 pm
i'm. done jim on twitter wants to know which car door would be more effective the other died off that's. more effective. they would just go right on you yet. you just wouldn't go beyond yeah yeah we have this game called if you only just quick question in favor does. because you went out like a hero in the pilot as a guest on the pilot it's very very get. best way to kill zombie with a crowbar in the head under the chin with a machete. as a comedy but the. biggest risk you ever took. telling my parents that i wanted to be an actor. to see everything all you does was yeah yeah every day. because yes it is always your name helen all you

rock obama apparently loves to brag about how well he can execute human beings with drones now i know you're thinking it's probably the republicans making him say such things cause you know he can't look weak on defense but shockingly no it's all the credit of barry you see during the two thousand and twelve election journalists mark halperin and john heilemann were reporting on obama's campaign and it was during this time that the drone can reportedly boasted to his aides about his kills since becoming manager of the us empire obama's rapidly increased the use of drones abroad and his hundreds and hundreds of strikes have put bush's measly fifty two drone attacks shane see thousands of dead when women men and children don't lie they also can't speak or defend themselves in any way now for those of you who are still not offended at the president's disregard for human life and think this is just the way paul.
