tv   Larry King Now  RT  November 4, 2013 11:00pm-11:31pm EST

11:00 pm
wait for that somehow a lot of our time. today on larry king hours the show everybody's talking about the walking dead will meet the stars stephen the un and lauren cohanim they may reveal something anything about the series for the season there's on these homes for sundays and i actually just think there's a fascination with the simplicity of the apocalypse like it's the end of the wild everything's about necessity you don't even know if you're here i hope you get to see if these don't people can be here and plus and this kid just kept on yelling glenn glenn glenn over and it wasn't being like him on issues like annoying he was just he didn't know my name that was a compliment the way i just think there's a rule you probably shouldn't shout at people in general but it's all ahead on larry king now.
11:01 pm
with us on today's edition of larry king now stephen warren called they are glenn re and maggie green billed as the unlikely romantic heroes while unlikely to do things i would yeah yeah i resent that as well. who wrote their house on the roof i didn't write it i begin to like thank you very much how did you get the part by some stroke of magical luck and grace i had no idea i just went in and it was my first pilot season i just moved to l.a. and i walked into an a.b.c. pilot and i had tests i was getting to test for so so excited and i thought i was going to get it why died and i walked out of there and mediately got a call saying you didn't get it so i was crushed so i was i remember thinking i should quit which is so stupid because if you show that sort of five months in that's your first audition or testing from. i think he shouldn't quit but. a month
11:02 pm
later walking dead came along in a book that and the amazing thing is if i would've told the a.b.c. pilot i would have been able to do whatever the sheeple nothing. yes i did how did you came in the second year yeah as you watched it the first year i hadn't seen it i hadn't you know they're very secretive about scripts to say that you had a two page three page scene to read. it's really funny because i'm so glad i didn't watch the show before i made a i thought i would have been so psyched so. terrified to do a good job and they were just and i was like read the pages trust your instinct make the tape i got the pot watched it and thought oh it's really going to happen i don't get this so i was i was glad that i wasn't as overwhelmed and so she comes in the second season. to get loose it's course pretty out and it was beginning to get well basically these two carriages think that they could die any second his the
11:03 pm
group he's with finds their way to off because they're in and ten they need sanctuary to find their way to. and he and i end up going on an errand and it's like. making out a pharmacy that before you get attacked by zombies because we think we could die tomorrow and then end up kind of falling in love and you had no idea that it i mean i was just happy to have a job and to be surrounded by the people that i was surrounded by it was amazing because i would hear their them buzzing on the first season first isn't there and i think we have something special and we have the same none of us knew and then the first season aired and then just exploded you had not watched it and i had not watched you told you're going to review the walk what did you think i thought ok what's the character on one of the sides i mean just you know just like anything else and i made a tape to i was in ireland i was at a wedding a friend i thought cold there ready for the wedding do this go there and then the second day they called back and they said they would like to and. they come down
11:04 pm
and then they said come for a chemistry with steven and. then they called back that night and they said you took the pot so i just flew to georgia but like i do that is when i'm going to this is. only i've been doing kind of on both sides i've done a few television series. but this was kind of side by thing is kind of has to be my you know. no i'm from new jersey. and then i moved same down when i was a kid. my mom is scottish my parents left moving. to school raised in yes scotland in england so my mom had moved over here when she was young with a family and then when she met my dad and we got a bit older she wanted to move us back to always want to be an actress my parents will say yes but i thought i would be a swimmer or a psychologist so i'm something through psychology and i don't know where you know
11:05 pm
. i was made to believe a specific doctor. but it was parents. so i went that route in which is i don't know i've always had a performing bug but yeah how do you explain this relation what is their relationship is that unwavering is a deep yeah yeah i think it's very deep i think it's. initially you know how it happens is very symbiotic kind of they need each other and then it turns into. more than that inches it turns into a deep seeded reason to live for each other the four season is complete have you done to this dog and no not yet you left if you left yeah he can you always wonder about this serious fanatic people who follow it every day i mean any him to you can give us what happens in the fourth year there's these calls for sundays and.
11:06 pm
i mean that's the thing we're so tight lipped on the show to watch because the spoils from best eternal plan is the internet they get around you and everything should all be explained as they actually if you told me something yeah i would go out and buy the world right and that was spoiled and i'd get fired yeah you would get stronger maybe so you don't have that so those people get knocked off on the show all right yeah you don't know if you're in the fifth season now. do you think you'll. that is a board that's always a possibility but i try to be as charming as possible even if there's a plot where you know i don't know if it's continuing or your contract they say you know nothing. really this is what i think we've signed for seven years but it's that they're behest of this sort of how long we've been arguing they don't pay you know now we have to pay them is. what makes the show work in
11:07 pm
europe and you may have different opinions stephen. i think it's i think it's the group i think it's the cast the crew and everybody kind of interconnected i think it's a really hard thing to pull off what we're trying to do and everybody buckles down and despite you know the weather the there the ridiculous asks and circumstances we all kind of group together and and churn it out eight days per episode minutes ago shooting mini movie where you think it works i think i think the show's really successful because people they love the supernatural element and they love how i actually just think there's a fascination with the simplicity of the apocalypse like it's the end of the wild everything's about necessity you don't even know if you're a hero but you get to see if these don't people can be a hero. i think that's the fascination with our show and then we're pretty grounded as a group it was important that the two of you have
11:08 pm
a chemistry for this to work right do you have a chemistry overseas so you know we're off a lot do you have a chemistry off the screen or friends we're really good friends you know are you involved with any woman or have you all are you involved in. so if you want to know if you could oh repression of the newer oh oh wait a minute you're playing a blog you obviously have to be attracted on screen but it can happen well talk about it with someone in the next day and i think. if you're a significant ticked no she's not yeah i think you know i think we have a very natural and ration for each other we've had to do some pretty couple ish scenes like really a sex scene that we had to go for. and you know what's great is like i. make it a thing to feel comfortable with her and she makes the thing to feel comfortable with mean it's it's fun into it with as the other day with. hope marcello
11:09 pm
mastroianni the great it is a go put a lot of love scenes you know life and he said one you don't get turned on playing a love scene too hard to do the angles a weird forty people it's not a turn on the truth yeah it's interesting because you want it to be real when you watch a film and you feel like the actors are holding back in a love scene like that it read cheapens i think but at the same time you go fred when you look around and you're d.p.s. like you know something i was standing there just like if i just said move your arms this way right yeah well you know what was great was they're really careful about that scene and also. i think in terms of our characters we get to play this out on television so it's over a lot of seasons and i have really identify with my character and the love he has for maggie just because it's not a film we don't get to we don't do it for two months and we're done we're doing it for four years so it's pretty cool the fans of the show are they typify the word
11:10 pm
spam short forth a maverick right do people treat you as if you are maggie in trade of joe's they scream magazine only introducing all the editors are just. i just don't know people just kind of get excited about the show as a whole as well so they kind of just want to watch the show how do you feel you have a timer at the moment yeah. well i mean you know what's interesting is like when you're in people's homes and you go by a different name your character name they don't know they think they know you but they don't know you. right here in the living room so i was at the mall with her just walking around and this kid just kept on yelling glenn glenn glenn over and it wasn't being like admonishing him like knowing he was just he didn't know my name and that's the only name he knew but he just kept on yelling it and after a while i think i kind of got annoyed i was like that's a compliment the way it absolutely is but i just think there's
11:11 pm
a rule you probably shouldn't shout at people in general. this is. the show's very very physical issue too is it hard to train for part of the show is training and say well do what he does running scenes sometimes you have to run like all around the around the prison on this gravel crazy stuff and then stab seventeen zombies eleven times and. just let it die ninety nine you know. one of the letter of the summer is just realize it's great so lemon and so at what's funny is will come and try to be as fit as we can at the top of the scene season just to come in but if you watch the rest of season every single year we just get more and more scrawny you just get more and more to feed in skinny and then we just pack it all down with age a couple you. do or is it true or it's fun it's fun it's
11:12 pm
hard sometimes but the motional stuff is what's hot the action stuff is kind of what we live for the action stuff that's great who before the zombie apocalypse occurred who were you glenn he was a pizza delivery boy and he was kind of. a pizza delivery boy and i think he and he was a recent grad that kind of just didn't take you know all the opportunities available to him and kind of looked at life is just stuck in this right now he's going to be this way very underachieving kid. and what about maggie she was about to go off to community college maybe i mean she lived on a farm and sort of their dad's. she had lost her mother and her dad is actually remarried with another one sister so she's really lived a farm life. you know with the dinner on that you. know with the yeah who just. is this a trick question. was
11:13 pm
do. you know it's got something. annoying maureen did. i mean it's amazingly creative and inventive and it's also really upsetting because these are. you know i don't want to say as time goes on it does get easier because you sort of. you know each other one you know you're going to stay in touch more often is the whole thing is finished. but yeah it's pretty you mean you're it's art imitating life in that sense you know you're really losing a character and then you're losing your friend that you're doing well the make up people must be interesting yeah there's some jobs if you know right across the board i think we have a different makeup crew then the walkers the zombies have a major crew sometimes we make split both sides are pretty amusing donna she done a premise she does she did a bunch of scars for me last year and she did an amazing job and then you turn
11:14 pm
around and walkers look as disgusting as ever recently and you're right back with more stephen you know that lauren called the end of the walking. and. it was a. very hard to take i. want to get. a life that we had had that with other great hair knowing. that. it was.
11:15 pm
one of. the. the deepest lake in the world. usually then no more than fifteen thousand years old this one dates back twenty five million. spirits and buddhist dogs live in. the pure clear water in the lake is helping scientists unravel the mysteries of the universe. i try to see by cal in its entirety. it's not that i have discovered something new here rather that i absorb everything that this place offers. the
11:16 pm
spirit of. the long cold hand of the walking dead let's find out more about these people you grew up in new jersey what is she juggles to thirteen yeah. at thirteen i was kicking and screaming i actually have fond of our old house and a half a six pack backpack and i'm just like. i was really bad and i have these patches of stuff and nobody had patches when i moved in and so we had this backpack i had i had gained all this puffy are. many as and they're like. perhaps you're back and you believe who it was i was i mean it was so strange i feel like a lot of people have made that move now but when i moved i was like the only american present my school is one of the kid from chicago brandon coats and he's it was it tough to adjust it was really it was a really tough age yeah i mean you going into
11:17 pm
a new school we were in school uniform is a totally different system. your brother and sister had five five i now younger you when i'm in the fast and then the next one is a is younger than me and then they go down from there had an easier time they had a much easier time they were coming over the top where you steve i grew up in troy michigan. in the suburbs of detroit. still home or not i would still live there but i live in l.a. and we would want to be nice to know you know i was really into music i was really into being annoying so it just kind of would be the asian american. for it's always you know i think there's a lot of factors when it comes to asian american and in the industry i think it's a matter of. amount of people trying to do it. the attention focused on that being an option for you and also that which is you know people are you would go to those
11:18 pm
and it could be everything yeah you know the asian would be black you could be anything. it was your first paid. it's a movie called the young alexander the great from macedonia and it was the whole that's the whole time i had to be one of these. and it would be. it's not finished we did we found this one scene actually we read from this one scene nine and a half years ago. where there was a gap in the story we didn't really know what what how to bring it together so they brought myself and the lead actor to greece because it we had originally found in cairo they brought us to greece they just filmed our feet and then we just talked over the whole thing to explain the story yeah but they just what like we're watching our feet go through certain terrain and then they remember when this happened is when you play with each other both saying alex on this fictional girlfriend it was david i know that's a very fictional story. always your first paying job. my first paying job
11:19 pm
was. i think eighty seconds to the touring company getting all yeah. yeah i did a lot of improv and schedule i could go i love it that's my roots of you that you did so far before then what did you do yeah i did supernatural event by diaries i did chop your own drugs yeah. and then i did an episode of law and order which everybody knows. i did i started this year low note especially rectums you know i list. avery johnson it's a catch and what happens to her she is a reporter and she is pregnant becomes pregnant with someone else's baby and the rapist once she's raped by the camera man and the rapist wants custody of her child and it's of course based on a true story is that. it was pretty hiring is actually really it was a synergy show it was
11:20 pm
a huge piece they try to buy it off it was really i do you foresee the walking dead . thing. now it's not saying in terms of year yeah how. it would be them and if they ended i would love for all the zombies to reanimated into humans i would love for the walking dead and with with. civilization we're back to normal not that it was all a dream but maybe an essence of it was all a dream and we don't know what kind of fun they're doing a spin off actually now we don't know where it's going to be yeah but i think it's going to give an interesting because. it's working too well condemning him. how do you think it's going to go. i don't know i mean we could all do it we could find salvation maybe one of us or all of you if you're planning about what we do and that it ended with. the baby the baby being the last beacon of hope is
11:21 pm
a baby. that one of the main characters in the beginning of the series is laurie and she's pregnant as the apocalypse is beginning. and she dies giving birth to her baby and this baby has now sort of become. the messiah now so the baby is like the thing that we're all trying to keep alive and miraculously you know she's still with us she hasn't been coupled up we have some social media questions for steven burrill on facebook does doing this show give you nightmares about walkers is. b.s. i know i get more nightmares about not waking up on time. four am call as you go sometimes. you know that's terrifying i did in the beginning that name is about this i. wake up and there would be one on my pillow. but that was kind of more from watching the show but like watching the first season once you're there and you're you're doing it you can kind of love runs lower on and sue i want to
11:22 pm
know what was it they were seen the movie i want to give. someone always goes to the source and. a lot of them are there were thousands seen now didn't see it as a good scene chris hardwick named that sex garage sex or other places where we shot that became that show other than the girl would be called a. it's pretty false. although no i mean you know are you going to shave your heads as your characters do in the comics aha we've moved past the point when they actually do that in the comic but you never know you know i'm sure you know i just i always put it out there i have a really ugly she underneath i mean you know you could probably tell us them not i don't ask them if they want me to do it i'll do it by just telling the public that they want you shave your definition i shouldn't say that and i say yes is campaigns but you would get. would be so fun i'd love to.
11:23 pm
know that at this stage no yeah. smiler ninety six s. and maggie. get married. we got engaged and i think it might i think i think you know yeah and let's engage and i think it was more of a bond and glen does mention in the episode that they don't need a fancy wedding so there's no marriage we know that we can say what isn't yes it's no marriage in the four seasons right now you know we don't know what's going to happen we don't know but we know so much that. we don't know we don't know yet yeah i do nothing yeah i learned something but what the hell are. you on twitter is there a possible baby in the works for the characters to watch and find out. oh i'm. done jim on twitter wants to know which would be more of the of the of that's
11:24 pm
. more effective. they would just go yeah. you just would involve them and yeah yeah we have this a game called if you only knew just quick question a favor does. because he went out like a hero in the pilot as a guest on the pilot it's very very good. best way to kill zone b. with a crowbar and under the chin with a machete. as a comedy but the. biggest risk you ever took. telling my parents and i wanted to be an actor. to set everything for you. yeah yeah every day. because yes it is always your name helen a wall you i was fourteen your late yeah i was going to
11:25 pm
a controlling where was it. it was in my room when you allowed the house yeah how did you lose a limb there. wow this got deep so quit was it homework or what it was it was parents are all your parents were not home no. it was like what happened. yes she's she's friends actually still kind of keep in touch with us and really yeah we're good friends yeah she get married and she's married and well she's live in a great life this is the no she is. right it is it was the first that is was in all jersey and it was good legal for fourteen year old. austin peay twelve who was it was danny mayo and parents used to call him kind of mustard on the phone it was really embarrassing and i fancy you could hear it if you're out there hide any do you know what up with me now i don't know where they're already
11:26 pm
doing well he isn't as good. at the bus stop he came off that fast with me and my stop and disgusting and everyone in the bus the next three streets were you. shocked yeah and then it came. in there and if i did my aunt was actually inside and she was so i was it was a very appropriate embarrassment would be an e-mail. oh it would love to know if they moved in with the city that's what we live with and you know where i grew up you might be right. person you'd most like to meet. obama. on the. road. yeah i have so many you know i'm just like. ok it's not as i know it was a guilty pleasure you are. not calling people back and it's a pleasure. not like pretending your phone is dead as your pleasure too much candy
11:27 pm
