these talks the fact that that the iranians have shown time after time that there is no evidence that iran think their program with anything like peaceful is something that has been ignored by the western and western governments but this despite all that iran's resilience has forced these countries to step. in. richmond and again the russians and the chinese have played a very constructive role and i don't think that sanctions played as much of a role as a recognition by the united states and britain and other countries that we need to engage iran because iran is becoming increasingly influential this is the only and the interior but agreements in six months time well it's because i'm doing wrong on a set to return to the negotiating table i don't intend he is a failed. deal signed here in the middle of the night if the game changer

welcome back well over the weekend protesters descended on. fort benning georgia to speak out against the western hemisphere institute for security cooperation formally known as the school of the americas candy will protester about seventeen hundred people to the gates outside of fort benning unlike previous years though not a single protester was arrested on this the twenty third annual gathering the message remained the same to end congressional funding of the military education facility notorious for human rights abuses throughout latin america producer of breaking the set manuel rock low was in georgia this weekend carries his report. the western

hemisphere institute for security and cooperation otherwise known as a school of the americas depending on who you ask the school is little more than a training center focused on building cooperation between the u.s. military and its latin american counterparts but for many others it's a notorious breeding ground for some of the worst human rights violators in the western hemisphere the school has graduated over sixty four thousand soldiers since one thousand nine hundred six soldiers were taught everything from enhanced interrogation to psychological warfare at least eleven latin american dictators have trained at the school including the infamous manuel noriega of panama and got the money as if it ain't leo's munt who oversaw the genocide of almost two thousand indigenous mayans during his brutal reign in the one nine hundred eighty s. every year the gates to the school of the americas in fort benning georgia serve as a meeting ground for thousands of activists from across the u.s. canada and latin america who have one clear message.

to shut it down september eleventh nine hundred seventy three there was a military dictatorship that was funded by the cia funded by the us and part of that dictatorship was you know having people tortured and disappeared and incarcerated as political prisoners and the folks that did that torture were trained here at the school of the americas who called the school of the assassins father roy a witness to killings in central america founded the school of the americas watch in one thousand nine hundred ninety and has been putting on this annual event for the last twenty three years it's about how you know pressure men with the office you will return to their countries why contours of other countries out to their training are to protect us economically just. to exploit the cheap labor of a natural resource over the years this demonstration has only grown attracting people from all walks of life but for some it's a very personal and emotional experience this is odd. ana barto
