6:29 pm
i marinate join me on but didn't get impartial and financial reporting on the kerry incident and much much more. only on the best and only on. the on the lake what like with new jersey usa and what was going on in this town is
6:30 pm
really quite unique in that there's a manger what we call gentrification one group of people is moving into the town and getting the lion's share of the housing and what it is is this new community is going in and they're they're buying up the homes but they're buying it up with the recycled taxpayer dollars see the ten it belongs to this group but also the landlord belongs to this group also so that the welfare money that goes to a pay for their apartment goes back to the landlord in the same group so that money stays within their community and it's just recycle and so what what's happening here is they're buying up the rest of the community with tax taxpayer dollars and so basically what it is is the person living in a home is paying taxes he's paying for his home to be bought out by this new group . as you know it's just. not right it's just wrong and the the politicians
6:31 pm
are allowing it because a new population has a voting bloc and they vote as one organized group. and so come election time all the politicians want those thousands of votes on their side so they look the other way what they're doing in lakewood is illegal it's it's wrong it's unethical but the politicians look the other way because they want the votes of this voting bloc. so. this is the abuses and. solution is the and probably soon as was the stats for. this like the step is those who like for people who are paid to from what was this. to keep the percent of the total homes. who knows where it would make before they can vote this but you also times when
6:32 pm
certain to clear the situations and court situations you slip through the cracks i was little people listening to the cracks. so really trying to redefine what my my problems are now and come up with a solution that's what of course was the news today probably some. of us from the inside. think i will be filled out an application or ever not but i'll give you the paperwork to fill an application out on net and we'll keep that open for you so but you know like we're going to meet with social services because like i said that will you know we're going to split the bill with them because they're paying and they're paying for your housing now so it makes more sense to take you out of the motel because it's costing more for you to live in that motel than it would for us to put you in housing so i'm going to see if we can work a deal out with them they've been working very close with us ok.
6:33 pm
thank you for that what i at three said that but i want you to understand we don't just help you know people intensity we help anybody that needs help so tell your friend to just give us a call and we'll take care of him ok you got it ok bye. if social services were pretty nice people up in hotels then they spend fifteen hundred dollars a month per person chest to put them in a hotel room so they spend fifteen hundred per person so if you calculated that you know times twelve times eighty people which we you know i have here fact we have over eighty people here and so it's about a million dollars a year that the government spends on housing eighty homeless people in hotel rooms so housing people up here that's about my that's about my monthly budget is one is
6:34 pm
fifteen hundred for eighty people so we're saving the government a lot of money by creating a system like this there's a lot of government ways that's all taxpayer money that's all you know people paying their taxes are going to wait that they're wasting taxpayer dollars. it's probably the hardest thing i've been to the my life. this. was. because the public the average person doesn't see what has to be done you know there's a court order saying that you know people have to be put up so most people think they're well you just take it you know put people up but these people are there they have different missions and sometimes you know you might run across some might it's megan's law some might it have been in jail for murder or whatever it may be you know drug addiction or people selling drugs alcohol how are
6:35 pm
the hallmarks you know all of those type of things that you have to deal with in how do you deal with it you know what do you do you just take all of those people and just put them in and somebody is neighborhood you know no you know you have to find the right spot who are that person. ugh. no i thought that there was four animal shelters in ocean county and ours was funded by the government by the or at least partially funded by the government but what i find on all those seventy seven animal shelters in ocean county is this county and we don't have any shelters for human beings in this county you know don't put people up at a hotel for a year and that's it. really. that
6:36 pm
. bad to do it right is this the guy you got to. tell his story a week ago he used only the rich god and saying how a mistake i'm never going to get and sensitive in today when one fell swoop got a place to live one saw it monday i'll be out here with my dog the township has been quite aggressive lately i think what they were doing is they wanted to. wait for the winter time to see how many people they could lead out. in the wintertime cyrano how many people like i wouldn't make it through the winter with the cold weather you know that would might have an option so i think that's why they waited until now to try to really start housing people as you see i don't know if you know but we've been pulling them out
6:37 pm
a lot about peabody i hear people say we're not we could do we did a good job like you michael said we couldn't do anything at the time you get out of a boat get. caught. in the maze and. people said we were going to be able to do this you know and but what they forgot about is that. i work in a court. it's you know i go to court all the time i meet all the landlords and in the county so over to you know several years of landlords got to really know me and they've given me a lot of breaks you know. and in putting people up you know and i really got to thank the landlords because as you may see there's a lot of different issues out here with people so the landlords only thing they asked for me is that if there's an issue that the landlord can call me and i can try to mediate the issue i mean and that's what i try to do you know so that helps us a great deal that's why we're getting a lot of people out to meetings today in the line of work. so
6:38 pm
well oh yeah waffle he's. actually. not too much. like dandelion in the store. just enjoying. to get it home with. whom they. were changed looking for rain and snow. although i must say. i think you are still. a little bit. so that those i was listening know all night from the bike. pool. then. when i was you know i was saying somebody sixty five good enough and quell two for
6:39 pm
the morning and twelve year old who wouldn't want to get a. clue in the morning you know people a lot younger and so you know tell you the truth it's nice to sleep through the night taking a while to get used to having a stone. i found a number of things. and it's just like. the old. dream. we moved with. the. home run into
6:40 pm
someone to become the one to actually. have a beautiful baby girl the survivor. among us well now she's in foster care. flossed assume the state commissions of frost assume. the service you give a year prove that your looks are gone they can the dots if you like read never said was was going hour a week. this is not a. good spend more time it's our. money if she wasn't he but they. look at it. but she won't do it. how would he want to keep a baby and would mean you know instead he said. that she already
6:41 pm
has or can see you know all right because from that they only take from the light and person whole town. and sort of for the government to take away that child from the person that you know has those inherent instincts to take care of that baby them to give that baby to somebody else just doesn't seem the most efficient you know man proper and ethical way to handle the situation on that . and do whatever you can bet your help that mother dude she can to to be you know to be the proper mother i would hold them to wish for them to you know what a mole would be able to get their baby back. personally you know i i don't believe it's going to have.
6:42 pm
i think. everybody. should you know the price is the only industry specifically mention in the constitution and. that's because a free and open press is critical to our democracy schreck albus. in fact the single biggest threat facing our nation today is the corporate takeover of our government and across several we've been hijacked lying handful of transnational corporations that will profit by these. drawing what our founding fathers once it's all just my job market and on this show we reveal the big picture
6:43 pm
of what's actually going on in the world we go beyond identifying the problem trotsky rational debate a real discussion critical issues facing america five for ready to join the movement then welcome to the big picture. this was in the washington well as submissive. is being suggested in the latest numbers among the media candidates for the prophesy of current issues actually back to a new doesn't do too much for ad revenue my own tech agriculture giant teeth on a seventy six year old american farmer based in india fallout do you think this is going to create for the cia do you think this is what's triggering a race america's the largest economy in the world it's also the largest debtor nation in the history of the world breaking the set is mostly about alternatives to
6:44 pm
the status quo one might give real alternatives points to the working poor the american dream the next they were just trying to survive it's time for americans and lawmakers are forced to wake up and start talking about the real causes problems for. you can be on wall street and be you know all in era when they didn't talk a minute but he got a lot of money. so not only get away with it but he can't be sanctioned by the lord because of that pattern you have. so it's not necessarily a problem of who you are you know it's really been through left and out to the side throughout the culture. to see never.
6:45 pm
it's a late addition to the rainbow and later when you tell us you say. i'm confusing metaphors. lucky's live eighteen years old and it keeps popping up on the internet like you know like i just committed different. i mean you know you have to look at this yeah but is eighteen years old i'm eligible for the disposable and that's what we're trying to help you know everybody get the right guy that is just so many people so many crisis out here it's it's it's very hard you know most agencies most employers they go to would use a temporary. pass. just a few rescue reclusive you want someone that's correct and most people up to say no they don't want to they're not willing to give them a victory it's always those second chances to live even after they feel good do
6:46 pm
something that's aside they still have astigmatism the horse and the follows. in the mix. so it's just very difficult to. get what i need you know for our sport and for of the table for my family you know i don't want to be a welfare i would like to go on working nine to five in. you know improvise must really like i suppose. it's a moment of truth here. we'd always dony. we live or we don't live the state decides. that's not you get out. i want to get a photo id so we can open
6:47 pm
a bank. and i just i don't have my social security card and i can't get a new one even the one how all this stuff coming k social security had almost no state and you believe these monsters are what's the girl now would like. to be the both of these social security cards a letter from social security which says it's legally a personal. proof of address a utility bill oh no no no no when the that's not good enough we're going to open the bank account right now because our grant money came in to check we can deposit the check anywhere so we can't use the money it's just a check any sensible person. so basically you're on the queue right yeah. i mean if you can't get.
6:48 pm
any aspect of the home. but couldn't get any documentation to speak to an interim. so we're still. struggling with the upper house so. how come. you know this is you're on the same plan. what. if the out of that outfit was. so.

6:51 pm
a safer place if you. think you were more constructive no activity they were more constructive. came up her closest you have to see that he flew steps. to try to get on the floor found. came on him the steel looks awfully good there's a. cat food for my cat look kidney liver. good but mistakes and everything. but thinks. there are people that you know are so used to being out here getting that help man you know don't want to do for them sure i understand understand that you know we're we're not going to put everybody in a house and they're going to like you know because they're going to want to come back out here we're getting good food and get clothing in and get all the free
6:52 pm
stuff but i think that sometimes doing it is bad because you know old folks sometimes they need to earn that you know like for instance if you look around here you know it could be cleaned up a lot a lot better so that there needs to be some structure and you know work as you go along you know also if they work you know you get paid you know they need to be some type of system to do that to make that happen. here too. i think it was too much for steve to do all by himself you know. but it's hard to get people in fact. steve kind of missed the type for dusts of why to have. interference you know sell em off trucking i mean i remember when we first get there the. right away i said to him well what or what kind of jobs they're. assign us some jobs so everybody here should have
6:53 pm
a job and he wouldn't hear of it. but really that's how it should be yes even though i would have liked to have been like the sanitation. you know america has created i believe that to some degree this entitle that mentality where people believe the government has a responsibility to support them you know to take care of them that's it's somebody else's responsibility to feed them our words. and you know i mean to a degree there's something there you know if you somebody is disabled or somebody can't take care of themselves the society you know should have the humanity to be you know to take care of them. but on the other hand you know there's a responsibility of individuals to contribute to the society contribute to their needs and to the needs of the society yeah believe according to the consent order and you got to take another look at it but i believe that the camp is you know allowed to stay open for another year in case somebody loses their housing they can
6:54 pm
come back to tent city for a. temporary space of time until they can get new housing so i believe the camp will stay open for another year even after the last person whose house according to the concern over. we're still. building the siding where to put on the sticks and sticks sticks to it makes me really sorry about the stove because . i would have to go far for still that's the way. that we take care of them because they came to us. work began we don't eat at all so we don't need a. care than there are comparing and some friends. we do our best for them. i really think that they shouldn't be really hellsing people for
6:55 pm
their. they should find some out and start tent city get over it. because. they really i mean it's hard it's it is and it's hard to live there. it's better than and what's going on. you know at the end of an evening here they're going to have nothing i am really in a half sets me very much because you get used to living indoors and that. can be stuck with nothing all over and it's still. some of the folks that we've already put up they do not have those survival skills on because they're you know they're asking for certain things to get done. you know they want somebody to come in and do on it and it shouldn't be and i say to them you know you got to make their telephone call you got a call there i said if you have a problem then you call us and then we'll get involved so these are the type of
6:56 pm
things that we're trying to teach them you know out there. you know i know people are going to come in you know bring you know lots of food and lots of clothing and all of that stuff yes it's needed for some people but some people it's not some people you know we want them to you know learn to survive that they have to get out here and get a job if they don't get a job they don't have you know s.s.i. or s.s. d a journalist systems or anything like that so yes this is about survival this first year is going to be survival training. it's all said taking you know doing its. thing. anything.
6:57 pm
eventual leave home will be poles distinction but there always will be some type of camp city somewhere because the people are going to go so there won't anybody think there's not going to be a tent city there might not be a teacher the news with that response but i guarantee you as long as you know our government continues not to recognize that we have issues you always going to have tent cities.
6:58 pm
