he's now the only surviving member of that family now to commemorate what we did see was a march to the center of the city of rotterdam with everybody dressed in white. marching in silence and laying flowers there the floral tributes that we've seen have been been immense from. all all parts of the country schiphol airport where the flight of course originated from and everywhere around we've seen just real outpourings of grief horrific scenes of family members breaking down in tears but the planes have now come to a halt and i can tell you that some of the taking trees are gathering there and we are getting ready for a minute's silence the last post in the bugle will play and then there will be a minute's minutes of silence to remember the remembrance of those who died on board that tragic flight ok well we're keeping an eye on the pictures we are expecting that military ceremony and of course the moment's silence as well so we're going to keep an eye on those pictures and bring them to you as soon as we
10:01 am
can you're watching r.t. international these are live pictures from our end hovan where the first bodies of the victims of the mh seventeen crash in eastern ukraine are being repatriated returned home to the netherlands we can see you can see pictures there i'm sure you're getting the same feed as us well what is happening now can you tell us. what it seems to be from where i'm stood is that the military honor guard is moving towards the planes there is a large group of dignitaries gathered in front of the two aircraft here in the military base in eindhoven will be expecting. a say though that military honor guard will be taking first ten coffins from each plane and then they will be taking . to taking ten coffins from each plane then the rest of the coffins will follow before being loaded into cars and taken to a military base near the town of health and. that's currently ongoing at the moment they're marching towards the towards the cargo holds of those two aircraft the

australian and dutch military transport planes they've been working together on this forming what they've called an an air bridge in order to make sure that all of those bodies come back here to the netherlands of course it's not just the dutch citizens that's coming here it's all of the bodies the dutch have taken point on the identification process and once that identification process is complete then the bodies of those from different nationalities will be repatriated to their individual countries in turn. people who are expecting to see is that on that subject sorry to interrupt there is an awkward time delay as well between between you hearing me and me hearing you but on that subject for the victims of the dutch victims of this tragedy what's the process now what's the consular support for the families and friends of the non dutch victims.
10:03 am
well all of the individual countries have been offering support to their citizens the the relatives in their own individual countries but here in the netherlands there is facility set aside so that they can come here they can try and help identify those who were on board we did hear from mr last night the dutch prime minister and he said that this won't be a quick process it could take quite a long time maybe a matter of months even before all of the identification is completed so this isn't going to be a quick process the bodies the first lot of bodies have now arrived but it's still going to be a long and for many families a long and painful process before they find out. before they can identify the bodies of their loved ones that were lost on board that plane. six pm here in moscow you're watching r.t. international just to our just to remind you what you're witnessing right now we're bringing you live pictures from. where the first forty bodies of the victims of the
10:04 am
mh seventeen malaysia airlines plane that crashed in eastern ukraine last week the first forty bodies being repatriated to the netherlands two planes have landed at the military airport one dutch plane carrying sixteen bodies and an australian plane carrying twenty four so the first forty bodies from that disaster arrived now . in our correspondent peter all over is on the ground keeping across salute me everything as it happens we are expecting a military ceremony to take place as the unloading of the coffins begins and takes place and we are expecting a military a minute's silence as well. looking at the pictures i'm guessing we're now just a few moments away from the unloading of the bodies. yes the guards the military honor guard has arrived the australian plane and they're
10:05 am
just approaching the dutch plane right now we will then understand here the last post on the bugle played followed by a minute's silence and then the unloading of those coffins can begin. they're going to be taken to a military base which is actually the training medics in the dutch military it's in the town of just outside of the town and. they have the facilities in order to. scale i mean we're talking about nearly three hundred bodies that have to be identified many. from what i'm hearing now. the bugle to be played very soon they will be followed by a minute's silence and i will stop speaking yes here we go now with the last post being played.

yes. pictures. eindhoven military airports where the first forty bodies of victims from the mh seventeen air crash malaysian airlines crash in eastern ukraine have been repatriated returned back to the netherlands sixteen on board a dutch plane twenty four aboard an australian plane you heard the bugle there playing it simple military ceremony greeting the planes as they arrive with those forty bodies on board peter oliver is our correspondent on the scene who can bring us more peter what exactly what exactly is is happening now.
10:10 am
paul we've just seen in as you would imagine immaculately impeccably observed a minute's silence in remembrance of those who lost their lives on malaysian airlines flight seventeen what's happening right now what will happen right now is that a military honor guard of made up from all across the dutch armed services will take each of the coffins. first off they'll take ten from the dutch plane ten from the australian plane they will be then placed into funeral cars into hearst's before being driven away to the to the army base the that process will then be repeated until all of the bodies the first forty bodies are off those cargo planes those planes they will then fly back to hide. in in ukraine where they will continue to bring bodies here to eindhoven until everything everybody is out of ukraine now this is expected to take until perhaps friday before all of that is completed it's being done as a joint dutch australian air force mission of. carrying out out together
10:11 am
forming what they've called an air bridge to get equipment and people into investigators into ukraine and get the bodies out because after the bodies have been identified. and those that aren't have been repatriated to their countries of origin then the investigation will be really ramped up in order to try and find out exactly how this plane came to such a tragic end over eastern ukraine the cars are now moving in just behind they're being led by they're being escorted by military police on on motorcycles in full dress uniform. and say those cars will take them to the to a military base just outside of. that military bases at the base where it's the headquarters of of dutch army medic training so they have the facilities there to handle the quantities of bodies that are going to be coming i mean nearly three hundred people will be brought there and that's three hundred families that will
10:12 am
have to then identify them the process of identification isn't going to be a quick one we're being told by dutch prime minister mark he said that it could take perhaps a month maybe even longer we may be looking at a matter of months before all families know exactly where their loved ones are and how they can how they can have their bodies. so very shortly we will expect to see the first coffins removed off the the transport planes but we are also over to my right there is a collection of dignitaries also some family members we're expecting to hear the king william alexander address those families also the dutch prime minister mark hooter now he had said on monday that the most important thing the number one priority as far as he was concerned was bringing people home and bringing trying to bring some rest bye to those families so the first forty bodies of those killed on board that tragic malaysian airlines flight over eastern ukraine they have now arrived here in the netherlands and we understand that there aren't just. members
10:13 am
here that there are also family members from other nationalities that have come here to the netherlands to welcome back i mean obviously this is a must be an incredibly tough time for them there is no identification process has taken place so far. they don't know if their relatives are on board those planes it must be absolutely heart rending for them considering some of the outpourings of real human emotion that i've seen while i've been here in the netherlands small villages that lost so. that lost one couple a small village north of amsterdam the last one couple was just the whole town was absolutely crippled by the news that these people had been part of their every day lives which is snuffed out in one fell swoop in that they would not be coming home everybody we spoke to was incredibly incredibly choked up also i mentioned in rotterdam there was also a family's family memorial that we visited. the owners of an asian restaurant it was a popular place in the city just
10:14 am
a few days before the incident took place it had been rated is the place to go for asian food that it was the chefs chef that was in charge tragically he's there no longer they leave behind a son in his early twenty's who now has to pick up the pieces of this disaster now i think we are going to see the first of the on the gods going on to the plane to bring out the bodies bring out the bodies in those coffins right now all of the the funeral cars appear to be appear to be ready they all have their doors open the doors open for those coffins to go in there. so peter peter that it's been a very poor poignant thing to hear in it and it's been a very poignant week i'm no doubt is the first forty bodies that are arriving today the first of those bodies is very shortly going to be taken off the plane we can see it now it is making its way off of one of those military planes the first of the forty bodies or the first of the bodies of the victims of the mh seventeen
10:15 am
crash arriving back in the netherlands and i suppose peter unfortunately what we're witnessing today is going to be repeated throughout the course of this week is and this is this is going to become a familiar sight. yes. yes this is going to be a familiar sight here at eindhoven tragically these planes these two planes will refuel they will then maybe change their crew and fly straight back to where they'll be loaded up with more bodies that are being prepared there the initial preparation and putting into coffins of these bodies that were taken from the crash site is being done in hockey if one starts is out of the way they say planes will fly back here again we are expecting that this could take well maybe till friday before we have all of the all of the bodies of the dead here in the netherlands and the identification process to get underway for all of those families that have been so hard hit by this this tragedy yes i'm looking at one of the coffins right now being being shouldered by pall bearers from all branches of the dutch military been
10:16 am
carried into into the car now this is a process that is going to take quite a long time there is a real reference that has to be shown a real respect that has to be shown here this is a tragedy that has absolutely crippled this country and has met well as many countries also around the world it's not just the netherlands of course that had citizens on board that's one of the reasons why australia has been so involved here the australian ambassador is he is who welcomed these to greet these bodies as they arrive here on the tarmac in eindhoven military air military air base the first of those it will to say it will take quite a long time it will be a long process to show the correct reference it has been a really solemn day here in the netherlands a day of memorial a day of grief they're driving through the city of eindhoven on my way to the airbase all flags at half mast. everybody in the city is was
10:17 am
waiting for this moment this is a moment where pretty much everybody in the netherlands downed tools they were people have been watching this on t.v. we understand from those who are talking to. this is a tragedy which is affected the cold they. and it's something that the whole nation is there's been an outpouring it's grief. commiserating with giving. to those families that have been so hit by this as i think the first of those coffins is about to be put into the back of the funeral call here. we are seeing the first of those coffins as you say put into the funeral. all of a thank you very much we'll be returning to you. throughout the course of the. piece to all of our correspondent there in. bringing us the latest as the first of the bodies from the mh seventeen. to the netherlands and of course as i say we'll be back to peter. off to

a short break here on our international. you know margaret mitchell author of gone with the wind one with enough courage you can do without a reputation but in a highly emotional social media driven world the words extremely concerned sometimes hysterical residents of twitter and the like hash tag their outrage thousands of miles away at the slightest deviance from what. they all have to agree is the only acceptable course well people are going to need a lot more courage. we can. choose the consent you. choose to use the degree to. choose the

stories to. choose the. badgley in playing the blame game the u.s. state department claims it has all the evidence it needs to lay blame on russia for the downing of the malaysian airliner but it won't disclose what is washington leading. watching r.t. international now in other news u.s. intelligence says there's no direct link connecting russia to the malaysian plane crash in eastern ukraine washington does claim though that moscow created the conditions that led to the tragedy presenting their evidence at an intel briefing officials say government forces are most likely responsible for downing the plane by mistake backing their proof or photos and videos posted on social networks which
10:20 am
they can't verify and as to see it explains. u.s. intelligence officials speaking on conditions of anonymity really under thinking veil of secrecy are coming out and saying that they have absolutely no evidence and no proof showing any kind of involvement on behalf of the russian government when it comes to this tragedy certainly this is something that's a very big development in this story because this does not really fit the narrative that the u.s. has been pushing in this whole ordeal as of course meanwhile certainly the investigation is really just beginning to take off importantly we've heard from one u.s. intelligence officials say we don't know we name we don't know a rank and we're not even one hundred percent sure of a nationality this keeping this in mind they are continuing to say that it's likely this was a mystique shoot down conducted by the anti key of fighters on the ground in eastern ukraine but it looks like because of so much secrecy and these reports
10:21 am
really are you and interpret it differently certainly in the u.s. media we seeing journalists going so far as to say that they have don't even have any certainty at all in terms of this being specifically the end of fighters we know that these u.s. intelligence officials are saying that they're basing these claims on social media and posts made by the ukrainian government and that's certainly not a first when it comes to the ukrainian crisis on monday russia's defense ministry has said also that they have proof that there was another clean in the air next to the malaysian airlines flight before it was shot down they believe this plane resembled a ukrainian military jets and they have been demanding comments or an explanation from kiev. of course thus far has denied this we also do know that russia's defense ministry has also said that they have images of ukrainian missile systems within the zone of the crash. well the official investigation into the mh seventeen
10:22 am
tragedy is only in its initial phase but some u.s. and european news outlets already claim they know exactly what happened using the internet unverified unproven theories which appeared online soon after they made moscow the culprit now we can get more on this now if we speak to professor neil kent a member of the cambridge initiative for security studies mr cohen thank you very much for joining us here on r.t. international now as soon as the crash happened leaders in the u.s. and the e.u. immediately pin the blame on russia is the media simply being. encouraged by them. i think i wouldn't say so i would say rather that the media has its own agenda. and wants to have a good story and has their own apriori convictions for example i know it is quite recently in the last few days that one of the pussy riot women was writing about
10:23 am
this whole tragedy in a fear now to have pussy riot write a cool analysis of such an event to me it seems to me like having as strong as right about the swedish legal system that sort of polemic is not what is needed to understand what he's had. a tragedy washington say that they have evidence that. the they've got can conclusive evidence the evidence is in the public domain at the moment that washington has put forward how conclusive and how decisive is that. well to be you know say it in one word inconclusive i did jury duty in england. and it was a case of someone stealing a rubber duck it took forty two weeks to get to the bottom of that so if
10:24 am
it took two weeks to get to the bottom of someone stealing a rubber dog from a garden center how much longer will it take to get to the bottom of such an incredibly difficult situation i think having conclusions on the basis of films video recordings and deciding virtually immediately who the culprit is not the way to go about it and cambridge where i'm based cool analysis is considered extremely important all of this media hype at the moment. some would perhaps describe it even as a frenzy do you think that helps the european union in particular push for further sanctions on russia or is this the media involvement all linked. well i think there are certainly those in the media who want to sanctions and there are those in government who want sanctions but one of the things which is intrigued
10:25 am
me is that amongst the old traditional english meant for what one could say is centered around st james's in london pillars of industry and land. and so on people come to have come up to me rather sheepishly and saying why is everyone attacking and demonizing russia and quite frankly i don't have a simple answer to that i don't see why it's happening because i don't see that as a useful way of analyzing this situation or achieving happy results a compromise is for everybody. professor neal can thank you very much for your time here on r.t. international mr kantor member of the cambridge initiative for security studies now back to our top story and some of the bodies recovered from the crash site of flight m.h. seventeen have arrived in the netherlands they were flown on
10:26 am
a transport plane from the ukrainian city of holocaust let's go back to our correspondent peter oliver who is in the military airport in eindhoven peter. well the first forty bodies of those killed on board malaysian airlines flight seventeen have arrived here in the netherlands from here at the military airbase in eindhoven they're going to be taken by funeral car to a military base outside of the town of helpless and where the identification process can get under way it was a somber ceremony here on the tarmac the last post on the bugle played before an impeccably really observed minute silence took place as well now the coffins have been unloaded these planes behind me though their job isn't done they'll be flying straight back to hard to bring more of those victims of the disaster back here to the netherlands so that the identification process can get underway and they can be returned to their families. peter all over and have been found very much more on that in around a half an hour or so here on r.t.

international coming up next it's news team our documentary. they want to so this is back to the middle ages a family event. for that and that as you know they derive their villages from the very very rigid interpretation of the law if you look at a country like egypt for example sadly enough the very high poverty the reason this hi paul sorry i think is because stability. calls the boundary and the border and that's the kind of suppression if you look at the liberal us let's say a country like turkey post ninety nine percent muslim. economy it's. legal. we speak your language i mean some of the will not advance. news programs and documentaries and spanish more matches to you breaking news a little turn
