for many years to come. brief notion r.t. iligan ski crane. after weeks deprived of food and water a russian humanitarian aid convoy finally reached desperate ukrainians who lined up to get basic essentials the aid convoy is now back in rush hour after unloading tons of food medicine and water in less than twenty four hours two hundred eighty trucks made their way through war torn eastern ukraine after being stored at the border for over a week here in washington called it a violation of the nation's sovereignty and threaten russia with consequences un humanitarian chief valerie amos told r.t. aid effort should not be politicized. what i think is important in terms of the humanitarian aspects of. that is all of those aspects oh no it politicized one of the important things about humanitarian work is that it's independent it's new through it's about bringing aid to people desperate to meet my regrets that
1:06 am
this whole issue of the convoy became highly politicized and i hope that that does not happen again. just by the humanitarian mission in the west was quickly to suggest the column was a russian invasion and the hysteria was found by the mainstream media with headlines such as these comparing the convoy to a trojan horse or artillery units is what a number of political analysts have to say about the accusations the hypocrisy here is really off the scale isn't it because it seems ok for the western powers to bomb sovereign states for humanitarian reasons but it's not ok for russia to say did a humanitarian aid convoy if russia did invade ukraine we know about it wouldn't we the ukrainians we're not going to allow this convoy is pretty clear they're going to find any excuse to stop it from going through and as they were doing this people are being killed and dying in the east of ukraine and that really is outrageous the double standards here this is the pinnacle of hypocrisy there it's clear that
1:07 am
there is no invasion it's clear that the convoy is purely humanitarian and it's clear that the arrival of the convoy has a point to underscore to the rest of the world that there is no invasion that the only people suffering here are the peaceful people in eastern ukraine that their own government is trying to murder and that's a problem and so they need to divert attention from this to some sort of hypocritical talk of russian invasion i doubt there would be a european aid coming into that region for them people who don't have skin lugansk there they're subhumans they're like prime minister yes they're not considering these people people they're considering them rebels or caress or as russians or whatever so they're not going to help them even though by their own rhetoric and by their own values to should but i don't expect that to happen at all. well it's not only ukraine's ace that's being left to deal with the consequences of kiev's military campaign this is the western ukrainian city of laval where eleven soldiers

a military force i mean they've been given equipment that's been used in iraq and afghanistan and so. police not have military equipment and as well they don't even know how to use it criticism surrounding heavy handed police tactics deep and wednesday when a few miles from ferguson another black man who allegedly shoplifted from a store was shot dead by white police officers made howard was brandishing a knife but instead of using a taser or other nonfatal methods cops fired nine shots into the twenty five year old asian of america's law enforcement has made front page news around the world critics say arming local cops with war weapons fuels a more aggressive type of policing that lacks accountability it's even caused president obama to order a review of federal programs and funding that enables police to buy military equipment has a lot of issues it has

artie ferguson. well it seems is not only the police who are to demonstrators in the us the army has released a guide on how to use lethal force against civilians in the event of full scale riots departments authorized to use snipers aircraft and even artillery or against unarmed civilians one part of the document stresses the need to exploit the psychological effect of such a lethal response r.t. spoke to one of the protesters who felt the wrath of security forces. the police came out a kind of arrested us including coming into the crowd and dragging myself and another person out and then captain ron johnson pointed it to him but instead these two get heavier charges not just failure to do for there is great worry about people here continuing to stand up and demand justice and that's why the police rules and regulations are changed right now people can congregate anywhere they

have to keep moving in the protest area and if they are not walking fast enough in the protest area they get threatened with arrest people who go up the cops and go don't you get accused of rowdy provocative behavior and in some cases arrest and that fear not only on the part of the local authorities but on the part of the whole system oh people being subjected to this abuse which is a nationwide thing it's not just here in ferguson and they are afraid that they're defiant spirit of the youth in ferguson could infect people all across the u.s. or the case of michael brown is hated the debate over the use of lethal force against minorities in america a number of young black men have died at the hands of police they say they say a police officer shot down three hamilton ten times during a struggle in a park meanwhile in july aragon a died on the ground after an officer used to prohibit a choke hold on him while this month john cool food was gunned down when he picked

now let's break the set. this week the beheading of an american journalist by islamic state militants horrified the world shock was compounded by the discovery that the executioner was apparently from britain artie's andrew farmer reports. the brutal killing of an american journalist by a british citizen grizzly footage posted online showing james foley beheaded by an islamic state militant his execution is speaking in english with an english accent blaming recent days strikes by america in iraq we are in the slumming on a state that has been accepted by a large number of muslims worldwide it prompted the british prime minister to cut short his holiday while ten downing street called the brutal murder shocking and

deprived but it's also prompted cools by some m.p.'s to question the west to rethink its policy in syria and iraq we have blood supplied some stuff in public communication to these people all of these people got a hold of this but i'm the. type the nicest type who are now turned into a formidable force however foreign secretary philip hammond made it very clear there will be no change in britain's approach but i reject any suggestion that british foreign policy is providing any kind of excuse for what i salute doing i still has a poisonous ideology we will support moderate. secular democratic oppositions to murderous dictatorships whether it's i still all whether it's the assad regime in syria but the brutal murder of james foley has raised other all good questions for the government namely the growing number of

britons fighting alongside jihadists around four hundred thought to have taken up arms in syria and iraq and some experts believe it's a tide that will be difficult to reverse the counter extremism units have not been very effective and the reason they're not very effective is because they're dealing in a framework which they cannot change they cannot change the social situation of many young minority brits in this country they cannot change the foreign policy of great britain and given those. imitations it's unsurprising that they have been unable to fix the situation on their own last year britain was shocked by the horrific killing of british soldier lee rigby outside his london barracks hacked to death by two u.k. nationals who converted to islam and claimed they were avenging the deaths of muslims killed by british forces but despite the outrage that followed hundreds of britons have continued to join the islamic state while there's been widespread condemnation of that you have this it is clear they do have their sympathizers and

for britain still very close to home. andrey pharma r.t. . the islamic state was considered too violent even by al-qaeda but even these brutal killers have their achilles heel this time it seems it's in the form of female kurdish soldiers there on the track of the islamists looking to avenge the thousands of women captured and executed by the islamic state and for the jihadists the female fighters pose a very specific threat they believe that if you are killed by a woman there's no place in heaven for you this is a video of us some of the volunteers joining the all female units train with and fight alongside male fighters. well the threat of the islamic state is spreading far beyond europe and the middle east indonesian police have been put on alert the world's largest put its temple after a threat made by jihadists all the details on our website. plus thirty four sailors

nine times larger than the aid that is being offered peter all of us spoke to some of the farmers affected. to brussels imposed sanctions on russia moscow was forced to react and the e.u. is now feeling the pinch of russia's ban on western food imports. of nickel should not should which i think will put some through the sanctions people are very pessimistic no nobody explains to farmers what's happening we don't know what the future will hold. financial services company i n g predict that the embargo on food imports could cost e.u. countries six point seven billion euros a year with one hundred thirty thousand jobs at risk countries whose economies were already in a bad way are especially worried if the greek people are already suffering from high taxes and unemployment the greek government needs to take a different position and not support the e.u. . exporters of fruits and vegetables in europe of come in for particular

pressure with some farm is outraged by the compensation that brussels has been offering. in twenty thirteen the e.u. sold one point two six billion euro of fruit and seven hundred sixty nine million euro of vegetables to russia the european commission is made only a tiny fraction of that available as financial aid to farmers. listen we're broke we've come to a dead end nobody cares about us except gold nobody cares how much money we need how are we going to survive. across the e.u. food producers and exporters of feeling the bite from the embargo hardest hit in terms of money is germany which could miss out on one point three billion euro however in terms of relative losses compared to the size of the different economies the baltics are in for a bruising but i don't think that the size of the current cost is an affordable but we are talking about. a union that is already in

just the other week on the program we discussed how it's technically legal but not very motivating to impose a curfew on to minors but now that adults are protesting in ferguson missouri the government is placing a curfew on them i'd like to make a small speculation warning this curfew is probably an excuse to break up the protesters once you disperse angry people a lot of their energy to protest is also dispersed but let's think about this if you take a look at the constitution there are two effective hours listed it doesn't say works from nine to five minutes just because crowd control the darkness is much more difficult and scary for the police doesn't mean that your ability to protest vanishes along with the sun in the evening regardless of whether you agree with the protesters or whether you agree with the idea of protesting at night or not i think is beyond question that you cannot impose a curfew on adults in the united states just because the last two presidents ease of use the constitution as toilet paper does not make it somehow invalid at night but that's just my opinion.
