5:02 pm
tell us about this. well all ten russian paratroopers who were earlier detained by the ukrainian authorities have now been handed over to russia the group was patrolling the russian ukrainian border when unintentionally they crossed over at night at a section of the border that is not well signposted they were then intercepted by the ukrainian security services the statement was released by alexi will gazan who is the deputy commander of the airborne forces of russian from what we understand the release talks were complicated and difficult but it is important to note that border incidents like this are not uncommon only in august there were around four hundred ukrainian servicemen who crossed over into russian territory now they were encircled by the anti-government forces they asked a russian border patrol to give them a humanitarian corridor also that they could evacuate they wounded and they were injured they also said they had run out of food and the mission later they returned

to ukraine but not off to some of their personnel received medical treatment inside russia there was also another incident some three days ago when some sixty ukrainian servicemen crossed over into russia seeking shelter this comes as the anti government forces are on the offensive there managing to push back the ukrainian army from previously held positions amongst those who are assisting the anti-government forces are european volunteers and we managed to catch up with one such eunice. it's our war everybody is war every european the war. and more and more overseas fighters are signing up for joining the antics of troops in eastern ukraine the war is slowly advancing into jeannette's city center this used to be a hardware store but like a growing number of soft targets around the city it has been reduced to rubble a growing number of europeans are saying enough is enough and are backing their

words up with action twenty five year old niccolo was a professional soldier with the elite french mountain troops for five years now he's pushing his skills to good use in ukraine alongside a contingent of other foreign volunteers he's training anti-government forces in urban guerrilla warfare over the pa military. these are people's militias these are not mercenaries or professional soldiers so they need instruction they really have the motivation whereas the kiev army which is the kind of puppet of nato they don't have any motivation whatsoever we have seen them before they are very unmotivated and they do not really know why they are fighting and against whom they are fighting for them so that is our main strength you know the p.a.d.'s also symbolic . for many of these people from the west it's the first time to come defend what is considered by western governments cards or the bad guys cards so it's very important to show the people from the west are distinct from their governments and
5:05 pm
they are ready to come and fight and risk their lives to defend another world it's not just finance volunteers from c.b.s. spain germany poland israel and the united kingdom are internet scum the front line . we believe the true crimean army will not be able to sustain. or even fall because it's huge the day goes by they lose money do lose motivation do lose manpower. lose so each day that goes by they grow weaker we grow stronger stronger. now finds itself in between a rock and a hard place what to do is move its young men sign up to fight against its ally. put it legally we don't see what the french government can do to us because first of all we're not paid so we're not mercenaries we're not terrorists we're not jihad and of course it's a mission of information it's a political mission it's
5:06 pm
a mission of soft power a mission that's growing stronger as a brigade of western volunteers is put together under the name of the united continent they're showing just how disunited europe is on the question of ukraine policy r.t. did it's eastern ukraine. international law expert alexander macoris joins us live now to discuss the release of the russian soldiers who've been detained for five days in ukraine alexander good to speak to you. just to start with there was that previous incident where ukrainian troops they crossed the russian border several times by all accounts they were released the bulk of them within just warm day why do you think the russian paratroopers there were detained by ukrainian officials for the best part of a week. because the ukrainian government wanted to milk the incident all political publicist says they're trying to argue and have been trying to argue for a long time that they're not really fighting enough for the people of the eastern
5:07 pm
ukraine but that they're fighting the russian army so here they had ten russians actual ten actual russian soldiers and they were able to parade them and put them on television and to show them as proof of the claim that they've been making for a long time that it is the russian army that they're fighting rather than their own people so they're funded by these paratroopers but the ukrainian government is claiming as indeed are the americans that there are thousands of russian soldiers fighting in eastern ukraine i'm just wondering why we're only hearing about these particular ten will indeed and can i just also say that i just read an article in the british media by a british journalist who went to one of the towns that has recently been captured by the rebels laws that all the russian army and instead he didn't find a russian army there he found the rebels so the evidence and does not look at all convincing that there are any russian troops there but of course one can have un
5:08 pm
convincing evidence people want to believe it and it serves a particular agenda then that evidence can still be used and these ten russian soldiers unfortunately were if you like a gift from heaven in that respect. there's been a lot of calls for further discussions and talks and everybody's agreed that they want finally to have peace of some kind do you think that possibly the release of these men means that care is ready to compromise. yet think so i think you can't just decide to compromise it will be because of the situation on the battlefield turning steadily against i think this is the decision to release the soldiers was taken some days ago and i suspect we don't know what kind of negotiations. but if you recall the been lots of ukrainian soldiers crossing over
5:09 pm
into russia and who knows the ukrainians may have been concerned that if they didn't release the soldiers they had captured the russians might be a little less willing to return those ukrainian soldiers who should come into their hands so i think that's probably more likely that kind of discussion the place rather than this being a christian aging negotiations serious negotiations i think we're still a little way away from that speaking to alexander macoris international law expert thank you t.j. thank you very much. meanwhile suffer claimed author it is in done yet say that they've allowed ukraine's army to take about a wounded and dad out of the encircled area in eastern ukraine these are the latest pictures for you from the outskirts of the town of vice clay you can see troops apparently carrying out that are going to be ration several army brigades with ukraine's national guard and we can have suffered serious losses in the counter

offensive by local militia. russia's deputy defense minister said kiev's accusations that moscow has boots on the ground in ukraine or is supplying arms to anti government forces are simply incorrect and made the comments to use them back in media earlier on saturday. graham that will adjust you so it will say. ukraine was part of the soviet union and there were many arms depots across the soviet union and when russia and ukraine became separate states millions of automatic rifles mines no tillery systems were left in ukraine's territory so there were warehouses with arms on the turrets you were kira is now conducting its punitive action against its own people and these warehouses came under the control of anti government forces people who took up arms to defend their rights so to speak about russia supplying arms to the nets lugansk is simply wrong just look at what ukraine's army is fighting with it's fighting

with russian arms or soviet times to be exact meanwhile european leaders are at a summit in brussels and joining them ukraine's president has gone a step further in his accusations against russia. has claimed there are thousands of russian troops and hundreds of tanks on ukrainian soil he says they pose a grave threat not only to the country but to the peace and stability of the e.u. and these are images presented by nato which the alliance in kiev claim prove russian self-propelled artillery units are moving through east ukraine other images allegedly show activity in russia near the ukrainian border something nato says is part of moscow's de stabilizing strategy moscow has rebuffed the allegations saying the pictures only taint the alliance's international reputation. moscow and brussels have agreed that ukraine will have to pay the gas bills it

still owes to russia and soon the safe transit of russian gas supplies through ukraine is vital for the e.u. and that dependence on russian gas will remain at least for another decade according to the fitch rating agency has predicted that other suppliers won't be ready to meet the demands europe's not ready to rework the current infrastructure or shift to using other sources of energy like shale gas ukraine also gets its gas from russia but oza moscow more than five billion dollars the state coffers are running empty and one of the country's largest power plants has now had its gas cut off after using too much of the resource and members of the publican are being encouraged to cut down their energy usage as well as. reports. it looks like ukraine's capital is in for another sunny week although throughout the hot summer a key of was not lining up for air conditioners but rather elektra's boilers as the government saving gas for the winter people have been left with cold showers in the

the middle east to fight what they see as a holy war the country's threat level was also raised to severe which means an attack on british soil is considered highly likely the new plans could make it easier to revoke passports of those looking to travel abroad to two hundred fifty jihadists the thought to have returned to the u.k. already from the middle east the british government has for years given material support to what it calls moderate rebels fighting the assad regime in syria. there will be move political progress in less the opposition is able to withstand the onslaught and put pressure on assad so he goes there is no military victory so we will also increase our efforts to support and to shape the moderate opposition what we're facing in iraq now with ice is a preacher and deeper threat to our security than we have known before and a new video has been circulating online showing a twenty one year old london a bragging of joining what he calls the golden era of jihad he's also calling on

other young britons to follow his lead and who are activists brian baca gave us his thoughts on the rise of extremism in the middle east. the u.k. joined with the united states in carrying out a war against muslim countries in the middle east as it's perceived in them in the middle east and amongst muslims in the u.k. is that the u.k. government is part of a war against islam and this facilitates and plays into the hands of those who are who are promoting political islamics especially extremist elements who show yes this is a war against islam and yes we can build in recruiting organize on this basis but fundamentally it is the policy of the u.k. government in hand with the united states government that has created the conditions for this development i think behind the terror threat level is the real politics of what's going on the terror threat level it's not really about perceived terror it's about preparing public opinion in the u.k. and in the united states for an escalating intervention by the united states in the

a spokesperson to believe that this is related to george galloway's controversial statements about israel of course he's an avid pro palestine supporter and he has said that he doesn't recognize the state of israel and doesn't debate with israelis in fact this is not the first time has been attacked in two thousand and three he was accused of racism when he walked out of the university debate because he found out that his opponent was israeli then in two thousand and eight a man who was arrested after he threw a rubber stressful at him while george galloway was complaining and then in two thousand and twelve the protests are actually tried to help me and you with eggs so him being used is an understatement. and george galloway's own show is airing today for those of you watching is in the u.k. it's coming up in about an hour's time but as always it's available all around the clock if you had to r.t. dot com hard work will lead to success at least part of what is known in the u.s.

i know a famous politician is tweeting that a foreign government is using excessive force against protesting citizens does this mean we're going to see yet another intervention to democratise their government into the dirt like in iraq or libya wait wait nothing is going to happen because that politician is russian but why is this so why can the police beat up or terrorize protesters in some countries but in others if you lift one finger you're going to get a nato lesson in human rights well the answer is simple this tweet and any attempts to intervene from do a member of what happened because unlike what they tell you in school might does it make right for young uns out there old grandpa kirby remembers the cold war and back when there were two great powers they had to at least behave well to woo people into believing that one side were the good guys now that's all gone the

this type of algae growth is naturally occurring in the scope and size of this particular bloom could almost certainly be blamed on human activity see algae feeds on phosphorus and nitrogen which is heavily president agricultural runoff from farms and sewage and considering that the great lakes alliance as they made that tens of billions of gallons of untreated sewage flows into the great lakes every year it's certainly no surprise that we're now seeing these mass algae blooms cover large swathes of lake erie but not to worry just today the mayor of toledo michael collins declared that the water is safe to drink. very thirsty right now that area hotter. here to get to where you know i did a great job. but despite columns well enough to drink the water this is a problem that won't be going away any time.
