ardsley an explosion at a central train station in brussels belgium we bring you the latest on this breaking news story. the pentagon says a u.s. jet has shot down a syrian government drone raising questions about the u.s. role in the syrian conflict. but later in the show nasa scientists could be very close to finding life on other planets a former astronaut tells us more about these new discoveries. it's tuesday june twentieth five pm in washington d.c.
5:01 pm
i'm natasha sweets and you're watching r.t. america we begin with some breaking news out of brussels belgium the site of an explosion at that city's central train station and we have some images right here you can see the train station and neighboring historic buildings were evacuated this as police shot at a man who appeared to be wearing a belt with an explosive device artie's dubinsky brings us the details from paris france well we've just been made aware that the spokes person have said that there was an accident at the central station in brussels and that there was an explosion around a person and that person has been neutralized that's the official line coming from officials in brussels right now but what we do know in the last hour or so there was panic at the station when people heard what they sounded like either explosion or gunfire going off in the central station in brussels that led to many people trying to flee the scene immediately and of course officials and so. and police who
5:02 pm
are naturally on the ground as there's been a high state of terror alerts across parts of europe evacuated parts of that central station and the area outside the station immediately now what we understand is there have been some pictures coming out from inside the station they're not verified but they do seem to show a small explosion which then matches up with what the official line is that they was a small explosion around a person now we understand that the person was wearing an explosive belt again that's not been confirmed by officials but if you take what they say in the official statement and what we've been hearing from my when this reports that sounds like that is true that a person was wearing an explosive belt that belt was let off and that set off panic now the police say they've neutralized that person and there was nobody else injured in this incident but what you know this comes at as i said a heightened terror alert across many parts of europe including here in france where just yesterday there was an incident on the sean sillies a when a man with
5:03 pm
a car with explosives rammed in to police and those explosives went off on the bottom of the seans elisei which is a massive tourist hot spot here in france but back to brussels i mean the city itself was no stranger to terrorist incidents just a year ago in march two thousand and sixteen thirty two civilians were killed in a series of coordinated terror attacks that were later claimed by isis those attacks took place on a metro station and at brussels airport as i said thirty two civilians who were killed as well as three people. treated that terror attack that there hasn't been any official line yet as to whether this is being treated as a terrorist incident you would suspect that it would be given the evidence and the information that's coming out about that attack but where at the moment yet to get that official line from the police authorities in brussels the course they are investigating this incident in. in which one person was neutralized off the water
5:04 pm
officials have described as an explosion going off around an individual brussel central station about an hour ago i did time when the station was packed with commuters and tourists on a very hot summer evening in brussels the pentagon says a u.s. fighter jet has downed an armed drone belonging to pro syrian government forces in southern syria u.s. military claimed that you a display of hostile intent and that the coalition didn't seek a fight with pro assad forces but it will defend itself r.t. is a jackal and has the details of the incident u.s. fighter jet has shot down an iranian made pro syrian regime drone in southern syria at approximately twelve thirty am local time now i'll tell him for is a town on the syrian border where u.s. troops are in fact training syrian rebels the statement claims the drone displayed hostile intent and advanced on coalition forces this is in fact the third procedure
5:05 pm
in an aircraft they've shot down just this month a second drone was downed on june the eighth in the same area and on sunday the u.s. led coalition shot down a syrian government plane in the country's north so many felt that move was a step too far even probably prompting excuse me a reaction from the u.n. . it does bring up a broadly or deep concern about the risk of possible miscalculation and escalation in the conflict in syria. overall there have been five attacks by the u.s. on post here in government forces in recent months and all cases they've claimed actions were taken in self-defense and that the coalition does not seek confrontation with the syrian government but their actions are sending a very different message at this point. and with the drone shot down earlier marking the third pro-government aircraft shot down last month questions are mounting over the true mission of u.s.
5:06 pm
forces in the region and to discuss the heightening tension in syria's airspace and the situation on the ground we are joined now by former pentagon official michael maloof and a former cia officer ray mcgovern thank you gentlemen for joining us and mike i like to start with you you know we know the u.s. has shot down the second iranian made armed drone within the past twelve days what signal is the u.s. trying to send here well it's it's technically trying to send a signal that it's not going to allow forces namely iran to come into a certain area in the southern part of syria. first of all united states was never invited there into syria secondly it's. we're putting in more and. declaring for ourselves the confliction zones which nobody agrees with and it's leading to increased tensions and i think what it's paving the way for and
5:07 pm
this is just my supposition and analysis at this point we're laying the groundwork not only to impede the flow of a rainy and flow of. supplies through from from. from tehran to. beirut but also to establish positioning for a base in a post-war. stabilization some cold stabilization effort but it may get out of hand before that happens i see him and ray to you we know that the russian foreign minister has. accused the u.s. of basically complying with terrorism and now we have another drone being shot down do you agree with that stance well as michael said you know we have no business being in syria i mean used to be that we followed it's of national law the russians were invited into syria the same with the iranians will eat we not so much so self-defense self-defense is too much of
5:08 pm
a stretch we could judge we can't justify what we're doing myself the fans you know you really can't look at u.s. policy in this part of the world without thinking without realizing that israel and its interests are paramount here you know back in two thousand and thirteen when obama was just about the push the button for an overt attack shock and awe on syria . the head of the new york times jerusalem bureau jodi would have been like to see some high level israeli officials are and she said what's your preferred outcome in syria and they said well you know this is a little embarrassing it's not humanitarian but our preferred outcome is no outcome and she said trying to play it would mean no outcome and it disappeared in the new york times i don't want to misquote it this is what he said. this is this is pincus who used to be consul general in new york quote this is
5:09 pm
a playoff situation in which you need both teams to lose but at least you don't want one to win we'll settle for tie so that i won't because let them both bleed hemorrhage to death that's that's the strategic thinking here as long as it's lingers there's no real threat to israel from syria now this presupposes that nobody's winning ok that's why they want to be us in toward the end of two thousand and thirteen because bashar was beginning to when we speak you need to win again that's what we're seeing all the sector involved i think when you bring up israel there's a lot of controversy going on i mean some people are saying that israel is funding terrorists i mean we understand that israel is providing humanitarian support and also medical supplies to the syrian rebels what is your take on this michael it's been going on for quite some time actually it was especially in the syrian golan it was in january two thousand and fifteen for example that the israelis killed jihad
5:10 pm
moving the son of him a move you need of hezbollah and. and also some could the generals and forces generals from from iran thinking that they were planning and it's what they claim that they were planning an attack on northern and northern israel but in fact it was to to prevent isis and other jihadi salafist groups from occupying the go on and there's been a lot of of solace activities you have used all of its activities in the goal line but it's in it's in israel's interest to. assist the sunni radicals because of their relationship now with syria i'm sorry with saudi arabia with egypt and with jordan those countries coming by. back together again they're going to form that security blanket for israel ultimately and it's in israel's interest to oppose assad because they don't want him in there
5:11 pm
and it's and they want to promote the more sunni elements there but what they may get are the more radicalized ones well it's interesting cause we don't hear a lot about israel backing the saudis very much say a tacit alliance here before you know israel and so it's most amazing if you look at the golan one you know if you call me pick a new no call me obsolete but israel has no business on the golan they seized that fifty years ago by a war of aggression ok now everybody except over there see it to really go a lot well if there is no israeli go on there's a search i've been there it dominates the whole terrain of that part of the so when you look at the golan and you think about how the israelis went up there fifty years ago i think of the u.s.s. liberty which israel attacked and tried to sink now we know that was it we know that was intentional there's intercepted messages and everything but the question
5:12 pm
is why and it was the day before they went up on the goal and we had been screaming at them look you know you he defeated have the elf don't call up in the go on they don't want us to know they're going to do that and so they tried to sink the intelligence ship that would have told washington what's now they're going up to go and so this goal of thing is important israel but it's also very important to the arabs the syrians and to the russians and iranians as well in iran of course is the ultimate target of all this they don't want iran to be able to supply hezbollah right across syria and one of the reasons why husband was up there and i've spoken to a number of their people in beirut recently was to prevent isis and the other salafist groups from attacking lebanon and that is still remains a big fear although it's quiet for now but there has. been heightened concerns about it and you've had it in the column on mountains in syria that border along lebanon anything can happen there at any time and and fortunately the lebanese army
5:13 pm
has been very effective to stymie any effort by by the salafist at this point and it has promoted and part of the every yeah they're part of the army and so you expect an increase in israeli attacks there yes yes not only there but also along that entire quarter in syria because they don't want assad to succeed they don't want iran to succeed and that core door will represent a supply line a definite supply line for iran to provide to. in ultimately to protect lebanon ran out of time but quickly so the u.s. is what we're here now in syria so you see it changing anytime soon you can understand it unless you realize that we're doing israel's bidding there we have no real policy of our own israel wants chaos in syria it's very hard to resupply hezbollah from the run up to syria if there's chaos there and we are stirring the
5:14 pm
pot there with or person having devolved responsibility for these military operations to his journals i notice you know what i would say that our participation is actually going to accelerate and going to get us more in broil before it's over interesting thank you so much gentlemen for your time notion right mcgovern and michael miller. all the syrian war tops today's discussion on politically and guest host amy holmes is joined by a foreign affairs correspondent courtney kili here's a preview of what's to come syria has been engaged in this civil war civil conflict since twenty eleven far longer than anyone predicted is there a diplomatic solution or is this just going to be a fight to the death well it is a fight that that has been a fight that it's not going to and with any backing is that there still can going on if you haven't been in during the. strike which i hope you haven't been the sonic booms are enough to terrorize the population major jets u.s. fighter jets screaming over syria is not what anybody wants but they also want to
5:15 pm
see us special forces how does it how does it add to it and eventually first with isis that's the u.s. is goal to get rid of isis but then they have to figure out some to pull out a magic solution and it has to and you have to get into the table with the iranians you have you come to the table to special john kerry's uneasier it is our secretary of state he tried that he had these summits you know it seems continually and they never we don't have a president that's speaking on message with the secretary of state on breaking news we don't have a president that's supporting caught our where we're has a house and a huge u.s. military base that is used to i think that trying this is complicating matters or in its knocked out some of i think i can just report that basically matters are very complicated because as you know once you wait wait into this it's there is no muslim world this arab unified world of one idea it's like trying to say all americans think the same it's a crazy patchwork of all different types of people that form a country so is the arab world so is the muslim so do you think that we can succeed
5:16 pm
in our goal demolishing isis it's going to be a long battle moves will still be ongoing it's horrific battle it's at their human rights abuses on all sides you saw even the iraqi forces going into mosul that were backed by the u.s. . tortured came out video of some people that have been following me around there's nothing good that's going to come out of iraq and right now you still have civilians that are still taking the toll you have families that have been torn apart you have syrians that can't live in peace in the country they can't work and it's one of the most harrowing situations i've covered and i have covered harrowing and you isis later has emerged in northern afghanistan as these is the law is the son of. a leader he was reportedly released from the infamous prison. last year as he is the law has forced locals in the region to convert to isis. in afghanistan
5:17 pm

fanatical until recently he was incarcerated in baghdad prison then came his unexpected and unexplained release. as an international terrorist it was american soldiers who released him. have a reason. to. which doesn't make immediate sense bag ram is officially run by the afghan government by graham is owned by the american. government doesn't have the capability to run it it was the americans who released as if they wanted they could catch him very quickly but they don't and i can't tell you why as fed on the chaos and corruption in afghanistan in his rise month c.m. asked hundreds of fighters and arsenal of weaponry and handily defeated both the afghan army and the taliban converting his enemies to his own cause
5:19 pm
and it wasn't faith that did it you know he's the richest man i know he has support from abroad and so much money he pays his fighters almost a thousand dollars that's why so many join him for reference that's about five times more than afghan soldiers are paid attempting some refugees say corrupt afghan troops sell the weapons he. them and foreign sponsors many chose to resist some did so by running away risking starvation rather than live. to radical rule others resisted with. she is a militia leader he has organized locals into a small force to resist as azula government the us they don't help we

finance ourselves by selling our houses and lands supply weapons and ammunition all the locals and to fight as we've spoken to say the same thing the afghan army sits idle selling weapons to the united states it's marines jets and coalition allies and nowhere to be seen leaving warlord as unchallenged or i guess the of c. northern afghanistan. coming up on our team police make an arrest in the brutal killing of a muslim teenager in virginia the latest stay with us. the mission of newsworthy is to go to the people tell their side of the story our stories are well sourced we don't hide anything from the public and i don't think

the mainstream media in this country can say. average viewer. party america has a different perspective that we're not hearing one echo chamber that mainstream media is constantly spewing. we're not beholden to any corporate sponsor no one tells us what to cover how long the coverage for how to say that's the beauty of our tea america. we give both sides we hear from both sides and we question more that journey not letting anything get in your way to bring it home to the american people. earlier today president obama said over my shoulder the millennium thing may be responsible in some ways new anymore and there is always the answer what good are we all are still experiencing then serials do you need to hear something else do you know you are serious here you want to see the shows in the us and trump has

that security failures played a role in the end financing terror acts all across the country in the latest incidents near finsbury park mosque a van drove into a crowd of pedestrians after ramadan prayers had just finished ali boyko looks now at how britain is finding itself increasingly vulnerable to extremist attacks the method blunt and now painfully familiar vehicle moving down innocent pedestrians. a country woke to news of another terrorist attack. on the streets of our capital city. this was an attack on mostly. place of worship. every gun. that has been far too much tolerance of extremism in our country over many years including islamophobia the matter of london city has and knowledge that violent extremism can now come from anywhere terrorists so much

credit but other means other than islamists motivation possess the slowest motivation the could use this for the police recognise this is a challenge they face just hours after the attack a mosque in east london received a bomb threat and had to be evacuated authorities have now increased security around places of worship but that hasn't delayed everyone's face as the british muslim community have quite rightly emphasized the over time there have been royce's in the number of attacks on our community islamophobia could sacks what needs to be a socio economic changes through our society and some clear political leadership what happened here in finsbury caught. yes again sadly the bluntest of tools like cars and vans can be when in the hands of those wishing to commit

our culture is awash in logs dominated by streams of never ending electronic hallucinations that merge fiction until they are indistinguishable we have become the most. society on politics it's a species of endless and needless little politicians more than just celebrity are two ruling parties are in reality one party corporate. those who attempt to punk this. universe simply designed the push to end their choice may still be a little up for so far to the margins of society including by a public broadcasting system that has sold it sold for corporate money so we might as well. squeaking against an avalanche but we.

5:31 pm
of capital john mcafee he first shared with me the one thing that concerns him the most take a listen. that happens all the time the thing that concerns me is not so much the fact the information is available all of this information you can buy from google what concerns me is how did they get this information my phone number my address my age my marital status my preferences whether or not i believe in obama care what do i feel about immigration what do i feel about our national policy every single political attitude is in that database for virtually every adult in america and i shouldn't should we be asking the question how did this data company even acquire that information that's what concerns me because once you get to the information into a database it will be hacked it will be let loose this is just a fact of life these days and something we should be concerned about but far more
5:32 pm
concerning to me is how did it happen it happened because companies like google and facebook acquired data on every one of us while blogs we're visiting even our messages that we pass on facebook are instant messages on twitter are accessible and these things are collected so that we have no privacy. what concerns me about this is if you look at the data in this twenty five terabyte it's almost every political attitude a person could have and my phone number and the jobs that are if you have any my health records yeah he's a lot of people concerned i'm sorry go ahead yeah a lot of people don't want that information public especially their political stances i mean it causes so much friction nowadays i mean maybe your close family members can know how you feel but you know publicly out there again a lot of people just don't want people to know but moving on now to wiki leaks you know they just release those secret documents revealing that home brodeur's ten

different manufacturers can be turned into listening posts that the cia can monitor i mean this sounds similar to you know those other devices like some televisions that are being used as listening devices so were you personally shocked at these findings. well no i mean myself and every other security affectional have known about this and i've been warning about this is not just the cia all of these routers and that's virtually every router this in use in the american home are accessible to hackers to the cia so that they can take over the control of the router they can monitor all of the traffic and worse they can download mel were into any device that is connected to that router so i personally never connect to any why five system i use the l.t.e. on my phone i know that sounds crazy but that's the only way that i can be secure because every router in america has been compromised we have all known this and
5:34 pm
we've been warning about it for years and nobody pays attention until something like wiki leaks comes up and says look this is what's happening then or goes oh oh but we've been saying a prayer years and and it is devastating in terms of the impact on american privacy our individual privacy because once the router is compromised and it infects the cell phones that are attached your your laptop your desktop computer your tablet then they become compromised and not only can you watch the data you can start listening to conversations you can start watching through the cameras on these devices so you're saying even when we go to something like they start back and get on their free wi-fi that our information can be compromised wow incredible in fact if you actually go to starbucks and get on the free wi-fi you're being very foolish because not only is the router compromised at starbucks but there are people in starbucks that have devices pretending to be wife i and you're connecting to them
5:35 pm
sometimes and they're monitoring all of your traffic reading your e-mails listening and your text messages listen to your converse so this is the problem the fundamental issues we are completely blind as to our circumstances in regards. security i mean that's why i know you kind of laid it out for us but can you kind of recap what are your thoughts at the cli with the cia using technology this way and do you think they have the right without the american people's consent of course not of course not there's nothing in the american constitution which gives the government the right to invade the privacy of my home or any place that i am where i am i have the presumption of privacy of course it's not ethical of goods it's unconscionable and we have very few means of combat in this my own company i'm g.t. is has a product coming out soon called sentinel which will prevent this from happening in corporations but nothing for the home yet and we're working on that but it will be
5:36 pm
six months or year before that comes out so we're totally helpless we are we are in a situation with our government where we they know everything about us and we know nothing about what the government is doing well they have the right to privacy and secrecy but the individual does not anymore well good to know and it will certainly be careful on where we go online nowadays thank you so much john mcafee c.e.o. of m.t.t. elsewhere in the news many popular baby foods contain lead these are the findings of a new study published by the environmental defense fund based on ten years of data well doctors say children who are exposed to the neurotoxin often suffer from behavioral issues and low i.q. artie's but it is santos joins us live from our los angeles give us the first you know what foods were found to contain lead. natasha the food and drug administration found the lead in twenty percent of the samples it collected between
5:37 pm
twenty two thousand and three in two thousand and thirteen as part of its most recent total diet study now these include foods like fruit juices cookies and vegetable products for babies and that's in comparison to fourteen percent of other food samples that were collected that have lead in them as well so now the environmental defense fund is looking into exactly why this is the case now they say that soil and drinking water is often a source of lead but because these products for babies contain more lead than other products they believe that this might be coming from the manufacturing level so that's something that they're looking into and in fact that you d.f. says quote the fact that fifty five percent of baby food apple juice samples have to technical levels of lead compared to twenty five percent for regular apple juices deserves more examination so they're going to be looking into that they have filed a freedom of information act request to try and get the f.d.a. to tell them which brands of baby food have these high lead levels in them natasha
5:38 pm
very eye opening so bridgette it is anything being done to reduce these levels and baby food and we know. right now it's unclear whether any measures have been taken by the f.d.a. but the a.t.f. is trying to encourage the f.d.a. to set stricter lead level lead levels for juices and things like that especially for baby food they're also encouraging manufacturers to try and reduce these lead levels and they're warning parents also to take measures to make sure that their babies are eating the healthiest food that's out there on the market so that's what's going on with these baby food lead levels because they can always learn how to make the food themselves the baby food. homemade thank you so much for your time toast reporting from los angeles live for us thank you. well coming up on our t.v. out of this world discovery dozens of planets outside our solar system could support life

nineteen eighties. and i think we don't have that story just yet but we do need to check in with the hocks is that up next. i apologize we're having some technical difficulties at the moment and so the biggest voter data leak in u.s. history this is how cyber firm up guard has described a huge batch of r. and c. files containing information on millions of americans which was accidentally made public by a g.o.p. analytics company old records of home addresses phone numbers and even political preferences of one hundred eighty five million voters somehow ended up and he publicly accessible clowe server before being removed after twelve days well the company which owned the information admitted the mistake also stating that it was

not hacked artie's left either assessed he has the story for us. remember all the talk of russians hacking the d.n.c. i mean it's hard to forget considering the amount of airtime given to the story which still hasn't had a even even a tiny shred of evidence to back it up but there is another cyber story related to last year's election campaign and unlike the d.n.c. claims this one has tons of substance although it concerns the democrats' direct rivals the r n c cyber firm of guard has revealed what looks to be the biggest voter data leak in history accidentally made by an analytics company on r n c s payroll a massive data batch with information on millions of americans somehow ended up on a publicly accessible amazon server and had been there for twelve days for anyone to download and use before the lapse was found and access was shut off the batch contained one point one terabytes of data that's information on one hundred ninety

eight million u.s. citizens which is roughly sixty one percent of the country's population and it included home addresses birth dates phone numbers political preferences and even voter opinions on major issues like gun control or abortion the leak came from this company deep rooted analytics which was among the several digital analytics companies hired by the g.o.p. during the election season it prides itself on its website for being the most experienced group of targeteers in republican politics offering media analytics services to corporations lobbying groups and g.o.p. political campaigns while the deep rooted analytics comes from the ownership over the league data the info in it came from a number of other companies hired by the r n c the ever present g.o.p. contractor the data trust the cog brothers americans for prosperity the cantor group and american crossroads the super pac founded by the former white house strategist karl rove it's still not entirely clear as to how exactly this much data ended up on a publicly accessible cloud drive but deeper than i don't let it found that alex

laundry said in a statement that we take full responsibility for the situation since this event has come to our attention we have updated the access setting. but put protocols in place to prevent further access he also said that based on the information we have gathered thus far we do not believe that our systems have been hacked and the statement it's important to mention that gathering data on voters by election campaigns is a perfectly normal practice but the fact that all this information was accidentally dumped onto a public domain is a serious lapse and the biggest question right now is whether any party other than the cyber firm of guard which found a leak did get access to it and would use it for nefarious purposes if it did let's hear a shift to r.t. reporting from washington d.c. . and so we do have this refugee story for you in twenty sixteen war violence and persecution forcibly uprooted nearly sixty six million people worldwide a figure waiting to one person every three seconds this figure reportedly doubled

nasa has just added another two hundred one thousand planets to with a growing list of possible planets beyond our solar system which may be able to support some form of life ten of those planets may exist and temperate zones meaning they're not too hot not too cold for life well to discuss the meaning of these discoveries i'm now joined by a former nasa astronaut and i and that's commander lee were right carol thanks for joining us well they were a kid you explain what exoplanets are and why you find them so exciting what's your exoplanets mean that planets that are outside of our solar system and the kepler spacecraft has done a phenomenal job identifying thousands literally thousands of the exoplanets several of which are actually in what's called the goalie lab so whether we're
5:51 pm
getting there started to close enough for to have the right temperature is to possibly have earth like conditions interesting and so won't life on other planets has not yet been discovered you say that the building blocks of life have been found in some cases so what does that mean to you. right it's it just very recently the cassini space to pollute shooting about sixty miles an hour from one of saturn's moons and so all of this and found not only did it consist of ninety percent of water but also had compounds like methane and hydrogen some of the basic building blocks of life so that's very exciting because these plumes were able cannock activity underneath these frozen sea setting up the possibility of extreme life near one of these bill carrick the russians are happening because the water there is locally warmer similarly the hubble space telescope sauce similar plumes on a europa one of jupiter's moons so the idea that some of the building blocks of life
5:52 pm
are right in our own backyard sense is good i think you know increases the chances that we have intelligent life elsewhere in this universe fascinating and the and so we hear the terms earth like. or similar to earth are used in the media but i mean it can be misleading because we've never discovered any planet like earth so how similar are they really. right so when we see similar it means like similar in size similar in mass and similar in temperature surface temperature or atmospheric temperature because you know they're orbiting their star at the appropriate distance where the temperatures could be kind of like you so that's very tantalizing because it sets up the condition if there are a building blocks of life you know it's seemingly fairly common wi fi meant our own backyard then you know its sense of the possibility of life elsewhere you know in this universe wow and so the exoplanets that have been discovered so far are
5:53 pm
strictly far away so to make them a viable alternative to earth at least at this time so what vice do you have for those who think we can just move to another planet as things get and sustainable here right it's really not very simple at all i mean the recent discovery said the planet of one of the close ones is seven thousand eight hundred light years away which means that travelling at speed of light it would take one thousand seven hundred years to get there and so you know even some of the more closer ones like the trappist planets are about forty light years away so traveling at the speed of light which we cannot do it was still take about forty years to get there so b. a b. a b. of how amazing one of these exoplanets not really of the immediate future all right thank you so much they write salford join the thing appreciate it thank you and watch in the hock that's coming up next right here on our air alvin translate that for a quick preview all right on some legs and watching the hawks we ponder who is a bigger threat to the united states foreign countries our own political parties

we'll go deeper investigate and debate all so you can get the big picture. when you work in news and politics for a while you start to see patterns and the patterns only emerge with the perspective of time so the longer you work in news and politics the wiser you should get which is why i just did a double take upon hearing something that david axelrod actually said on c.n.n. recently which news busters dot org was quick to catch axelrod is a senior political commentator for c.n.n. he started his career at the chicago tribune back in the early eighty's he's worked for media outlets political consultancy firms universities he was even a senior advisor to president obama so this guy has worked in news and politics for
5:56 pm
several decades so he should be really why is about a lot of things by now you think now in this recent c.n.n. appearance axelrod did say some things that i thought were why for instance he talked about how the media tends to focus on the hysterical political strategizing the media does around certain issues over covering the sensational stuff while ignoring stuff that has a more direct effect on the day to day lives of people like you know health care financial reform or deregulation he said the media gets submerged in a frenzy to cover more scandalous stuff which i think is a why is that observation to make but that wasn't the thing that axelrod said that made me do the double take that they need that made me do the double take was that he actually said barack obama was the target of derision by the media and that there were times when working for obama that he felt completely under siege by the media he seriously said that president obama was under siege by the media which to
5:57 pm
me who worked in the news business for the. entire eight years of obama's presidency was not a very wise observation at all when obama started bombing libya americans had no idea because the media basically just ignored it when he dropped a punch of drones on civilians in other countries the media was moment when he made countless weapons deals with the saudis the media covered him doing cute sell the stick videos or him hanging out with b.s.a. and jay z. are going on a late night show again i mean come on i'm sorry mr axelrod but having watched every day of the media's coverage of obama's presidency at my job i have to say that calling obama completely under siege by the media doesn't seem terribly why or accurate at all.

answers. question. greetings and salutation while many on capitol hill quaking in shipper with rage and fear over the mere mention of the two thousand and sixteen u.s. presidential elections and russian acking it appears that the real threat to our voting public may not be from nefarious hidden foreign akers' but from our own two political parties ongoing blunders and their thirst for power case in point this week it was revealed that a republican to contract a data mining firm accidentally exposed the personal information.
