from. from the. from. coming up on our team america as third of violence hits the middle east as terrorists strike a resort in egypt while a group of gunmen launch an attack on a sacred jewish site. and fresh revelations from wiki leaks claim that the cia launched an app that covertly intercepts and reroute your text messages. and then the official twitter of nato sings the praises of a group linked with the nazi army responsible for numerous war crimes forgot that and more coming up on arts in america. it's friday july fourteenth five pm in washington d.c.
5:01 pm
i'm a military man you're watching are to america we began with violence in the middle east to tourists died today in egypt as a result of stab wounds the victims were reportedly ukrainian tourists four others were injured and one man has now been arrested the attack occurred at the red sea resort of her god meanwhile in jerusalem assailant's and israeli soldiers have been killed at the mosque journalist and cohen spoke with us earlier from amman jordan well this morning there was shooting at the all luxor compound in occupied east jerusalem what happened was three. men from almost the city oppose any city inside israel carried out an attack on israeli occupation forces which ultimately killed two israeli soldiers and injured a third of the assailants were executed on the scene at the all lots of compound
5:02 pm
which is unprecedented. in egypt for the last decades we haven't seen israeli soldiers killed close to any of these at the altar calm. and we have actually. never seen palestinians carry out a deadly attack on israeli at the compound and the violence comes amid several recent violent incidents many of them and valving children to tell you about that.

mission. training equipping. a company to. train equip and assist in the company of our partners. so let's break down those terms that often fall like a bunch of cliches but actually mean very specific things train and equip. that sort of like a boot camp when u.s. instructors provide local forces with arms and train them that approach was taken in a while back but didn't prove to be very effective can you tell us what the total number of trained fighters remains we're talking four or five next we have. which is what troops were doing in mosul and that means more engagement is true that we're operating. deeper into the iraqi formations are partners are fighting the enemy and we're supporting them with our advice and assistance we are very close to it if not
5:05 pm
already engaged in that fight and if you add a company to the end of advise and assist your friend to an even higher level of involvement by u.s. troops and this is the cost of creation for the u.s. soldiers involved in the assault. interestingly enough those marines firing long range artillery are still regarded as advisors and i think there's a big difference between an authorization of war and sending a few hundred advisors so what the addition of a company to their mission u.s. troops are practically escorting local fighters to rocka well there you have it now the next time you listen to the military officials you can decipher what they really mean. washington d.c. meanwhile president trump has wrapped up his two day visit to paris on thursday he
5:06 pm
held talks with french president emmanuel mccrone today he was the special guest at the best. day parade in the french capital and when the time came to say goodbye it seems like the two leaders found it a bit hard to part. with . jimmy nothing will. be the presence today. mr
5:07 pm
donald trump. is a sign of our friendship enjoyed time. it's going to be just fine because you have a great president you have somebody that's going to run this country right and i would be willing to bet because i think this one of the great cities one of the most beautiful cities in the world however it seems that the french public doesn't particularly care about warm relations between the two countries charlotte dubinsky has the details around it some people have. protested against from and against i'm not called they say that the two presidents crating. against society and that's because north just trump is here in town and many people are unhappy about the fact that he's been visiting paris people describing him as being a racist i'm. not happy about some of the call it seems made about france in the past say that france is. paris big. the amount of
5:08 pm
immigration here in the country but also against president michel and his plans to make a big reforms of the labor called to the front but the sum up basically president not going to said that he wants to change the labor code because he wants to make draw on some productive he wants to reduce unemployment one of the ways that he wants to do that is by changing the working conditions but the people his say by changing the usual working conditions what they do is actually a road to rights over work completely and they're unhappy that they so i do you know flexible working may think to erosion of society and not why people have come here to protest against my own and against trump today in paris show that you can see nazi. france is marking the grim anniversary of the terror attack in the city
5:09 pm
of nice one year ago a radicalized tunisian man rammed a truck into a festive crowd during the national holiday killing eighty six people the terrorist was shot dead by police isis later claimed responsibility for the atrocity. i. was. living in france the attacker was known to police for several violent crimes.
5:10 pm
as. it is. just terror tactics direct result walls to went to truck driving to across. the border. we are in a new era france will have to live with terrorism. according to the latest wiki leaks vault seven released the cia is allegedly using a hacking tool to redirect text messages on android cell phones artie's natasha's suite has more on how this tactic is being deployed it's called highrise and according to wiki leaks this technology enables the cia to redirect text messages the latest vault seven release claims this malware has the ability to steal data from a user smartphone and is then transmitted to the cia host but he leaks describes
5:11 pm
highrise as an android application for mobile devices running android four point zero two four point four the chill backs the documents also reveals that highrise has the ability to authenticate secure internet communications now this application appears as an app called type check it must be run once when first installed and after reboot it reportedly run automatically and another twist according to the documents is the password to install the app is. in arabic means god willing as you may recall wiki leaks has been releasing findings from vault seven since march what sets us apart is its ability to steal data from user smart phone transmitter to the cia all without the use of the internet in washington just sweets. ok for more on this we're being joined now by legendary cyber security expert and c.e.o. of capital mr john mcafee john good to see you so tell me how dangerous
5:12 pm
exactly is this cia developed tool. well keep in mind that the the vault seven release contains old information. that it works on android four point zero four point four i can assure you it's been updated to work on every version of android through i'm using version seven myself. the issue is is not with the cia it's it rest securely on the doorstep of google the elop or of of the android system and google is between a rock and a hard place their job is to open up things like text messages because you can give permissions to applications to reach or text messages to balance out between keeping out those that you don't want to reach or text messages is very difficult and google always errs on the side of marketing so they were full responsibility
5:13 pm
for this you cannot blame the cia if there's a war on android saying enter here for free and get your text messages obviously not so much as the cia but hackers all over the world have been using this this this feature and it is a feature everything about smartphones especially android smartphones and apple as well is designed to open up your system so that marketers can find out where you are what you're buying who your contacts are what your text messages say so that they can better quote serve you with the things that they think you want to buy so until we get a handle on that and then till google will take responsibility for opening up our privacy to the hackers of the world into the cia's in the n.s.a. zone and who knows who else we're not going to solve this problem it rests squarely with google now john that perhaps though requires each individual phone to have
5:14 pm
that malware installed into it and the cia will most certainly say that this. technology was developed the capability has come into place to assist against terrorism is that a fair argument for them to to develop. and absolutely not and keep in mind you can go and download it on your pro on your phone by visiting any website anyone for example who has ever visited a pornography site and few of us have perhaps but anyone who has has had metal word downloaded on your phone is very easy with android as soon as you do a drive by of the website they set the downloads on authorized applications flag the first click through loads whatever programs you want do you think the cia would not spend a few million dollars to pay these pornography sites to make it their application which is downloaded please it's the easiest thing in the world this is another problem with all smartphones not just android but apple and black phone all of them
5:15 pm
all of them have this security flaw it needs to be fixed and now speaking of google the campaign for accountability is saying that google pays for research that will help support its business model and different policy goals and presumably policy that they work with the u.s. government here in washington d.c. . obviously this is an old tactic we've seen it in the one nine hundred eighty s. with the tobacco companies funding scientists and other quote unquote research but this is the internet it's very pervasive. they are the internet i think to most people in your opinion how might this sort of cyber steering affect the masses. well i like the analogy to the to the tobacco companies because the tobacco companies in the forty's and fifty's and sixty's paid tens of millions of dollars to researchers to make sure that everybody said tobacco is not
5:16 pm
a. harmful but if you believe that google is not harmful then you must believe that the total loss of our privacy and human dignity is not harmful and please don't get me wrong i love google from one standpoint it has opened up the worlds to information beyond comprehension and has enriched our lives but google has taken the mantle of corporate conscience and sacrificed it on the altar of mammon for money we are not we are not numbers i'm not a statistic i'm not a collection of attitudes and desires i'm a human being with my own dreams and hopes and problems and by making me a number you've removed my human dignity you need to stop doing that you need to
5:17 pm
understand you've got to take that mantel back off that altar and put it squarely on your shoulders because that's where it belongs all that they were always i am writing i write john they weren't always like this so then how can people now feel confident in the things that they that they go all. well it's like anything else corruption and power does not come in a flash it comes slowly it creeps and as it creeps the the better instincts of the human animal are are moved away by power itself by money by by influence and my own company m.g.t. we are we are in the process of having our product reviewed called sentinel which i intend in the next five years they have installed in every home and corporate internet on the planet and it's the world's first anti hacking device i'm just two
5:18 pm
minutes away from putting in there a switch to make the google crawlers be had. is that will how will google exist if they cannot index today or and i'm serious here i am seriously ticked off about google's lack of conscience and i may be an old man and you may think that i've lost my my energy in strength and my teeth but i promise you if things don't change i will do everything within my power to make sure that the objections of the world are laid squarely on the doorsteps of google john you are certainly a legend in my book i think a lot of people in the industry certainly respect what you have to say and that's why we've gone to you about all of this thank you so much for sharing your expertise with us that's john mcafee's cyber security legend and c.e.o. of m g p capital thank you. the art supply giant hobby lobby is in trouble after illegally acquiring ancient iraqi relics and then shipping them
5:19 pm
into the united states back in two thousand and eleven a new york times investigation uncovered the illegality of the company's actions and now it has to pay a three million dollars settlement as well as for feeding those are artifacts but just how big is the black market for these antiquities artie's alexy are chefs he has to report. this is just one sample of ancient mesopotamian and iraqi artifacts dating back thousands of years which made their way into the united states in two thousand and eleven more than fifty five hundred clay tablets a day with no set market price for those but assumingly ranging between several hundred to several thousand dollars per piece according to a recently published civil complaint by prosecutors in new york those were shipped into the u.s. in jan two thousand and eleven from the united arab emirates to a purchaser in oklahoma but were apprehended by the department of homeland security the shipments according to the document were not a one off and there have been several tranches of those detected and seized by the
5:20 pm
authorities now the fact itself violate that several laws because cultural property like that has to be properly declared otherwise would be seen as illegally smuggled in such actions also fall onto the national stolen property act which prohibits importation of foreign cultural property and on top of that given that the artifacts came from iraq it's also breaking the law since importation of cultural artifacts into the u.s. from iraq has been restricted for almost thirty years now so who was the buyer the hobby lobby a multibillion network of more than seven hundred stores across america but why would hobby lobby be interested in ancient tablets not to put it on the shelves surely all the people who owned this chain is a rich evan jellicoe family and it's opening the museum of the bible in d.c. and of amber so the widespread assumption of has been that the tablets were meant to be displayed there or maybe not since according to the prosecutors hobby lobby hired a consultant which advised the company that the overall price for the intake would just go up to eleven million dollars but it's feasible to purchase those for one

point six million which the company happily did. the national weather service in sterling virginia has issued a special memory warning for chesapeake bay from pools island to sandy point maryland chesapeake bay from sandy point to north beach maryland chester river to queenstown narrow eastern bay until six forty five pm at five thousand pm strong thunderstorms are located along the line extending from sandy point state park to rock hall moving southeast at ten knots hazard wind gusts thirty four knots or greater source radar indicated impact voters and small craft could be thrown overboard by suddenly higher winds and waves capsizing their vessel locations

5:23 pm
in the fight against the nazis. this is not unusual for nato the alliance has kept bad faith with russia and the soviet union's legacy of sacrifice in eastern europe following its collapse since two thousand and fourteen nato has conducted joint military operations in ukraine while providing the ukrainian government with military equipment and funds the ukrainian government which all but explicitly champions the legacy of nazi collaborator step on monday or the horrible asks if today beyond there is a hero and the force brothers are freedom fighters saving the baltic nations what can we expect tomorrow ukraine would be the crown jewel in nato as crown if the nation were to join the alliance since one thousand nine hundred nine nearly all of eastern europe has joined nato that's thirteen countries with montenegro joining this past year meanwhile nato is twitter account has become a fan page for the ever expanding military operations conducted along or near

russia's border hash tag we are nato the page reads leaving many to wonder if this includes nazis and their sympathizers anything goes in the effort to demonize russia. hyperloop one has made history introducing a new mode of transportation to the world it's the first revolution in transportation in over us century the groundbreaking vehicle successfully completed its first full scale test using magnetic levitation technology santos has more from los angeles. in their monella this test began on may twelfth but the company has just now revealed it to the public now hyperloop one's goal is to create the first near supersonic travel system and it looks like they have successfully proven that the concept works and they tested all of the components here which include the highly efficient motor vehicle suspension magnetic levitation vacuum pumping system

in about under an hour all right pretty to santos reporting from los angeles thank you so much. coming up later on r t come better and statues are still all over america and they can take. hey rallies haven't become things of the past but why actually banks tries to answer this question after the short break stick around and i want to say. there's a real irony bill and. you showed it to the responsible boys and the people and there's always well that's what it was because it always seemed and seems to be dealing with all the ordinary you know still surveillance you see all you have all meanwhile there's two to three shows us and trump has used the social media site oh it's all over the story goes it's garbage it's real to. be. there. but politicians do such

there to the american what's happening when a corporation makes a pharmaceutical chills people when a company in the environmental business ends up polluting a river that causes cancer and other illnesses they put all the health risk all the dangers out to the american public those are stories that we tell every week and you know what they're working. more than four hundred people have been charged with defrauding the american health care system the justice department has just announced on thursday the defendants have reportedly squeezed out more than a billion dollars of taxpayer money in fake billing schemes stretching across the entire country and about a third of these people are charged with. only prescribing and distributing painkillers contributing to the deadliest drug overdose epidemic in u.s.
5:29 pm
history are due someone. breaks down the case and explains how medical professionals use these schemes to pocket hundreds of millions of dollars. it's being called the largest health care fraud takedown in american history and the numbers show why health care fraud sweeps like the one announced thursday take place each year but twenty seventeen is by far the biggest year yet forty one federal districts participated in this year's takedown and if we look at the past five years that's four times as many districts as four and five years ago when only ten districts took part and this year at the department of justice announced its charging four hundred twelve people including doctors compared with three hundred one the year before these defendants have defrauded taxpayers of approximately one point three billion dollars as a result of this operation two hundred health care providers are now in the process
5:30 pm
of being suspended banned from for two supposed and in any federal health care programs it's important to recognize that the individuals targeted within our takedown operations are in the business not of caring for patients but of manipulating them and exploiting them of the four hundred twelve defendants the justice department says one hundred fifteen are doctors nurses or other licensed medical professionals more than one hundred twenty are charged for their roles in prescribing and distributing opioids and other dangerous narcotics and as you heard from attorney general jeff sessions health and human services is working to suspend two hundred ninety five providers including doctors and pharmacists this week targeted screens across the country where health care providers praja lightly billed medicare medicaid and tri-care the health insurance program for military members and veterans and these schemes cost taxpayers one point three billion dollars according to the justice department these professionals billed for medically unnecessary prescription drugs that often were never even purchased by or

distributed to the patient and others are charged with illegally distributing opioids contributing to record numbers of americans dying of overdoses some of them more since a. cases include an addiction treatment center and home for recovering addicts in florida where double billing was just part of what the f.b.i. called fraudulent activity and bogus treatments were defendants billed insurance companies about fifty eight million dollars and would offer kickbacks to current patients to attract new insured clients entice sing them with gift cards cash airline tickets even trips to strip clubs and in michigan thirty two defendants are facing charges in one case nine defendants are charged with prescribing medically unnecessary controlled substances some of which were sold on the street and billing medicare for one hundred sixty four million dollars in medically unnecessary procedures in washington cmon dollars r e o r t. your watching

race in america today's topic confederate statues what do they represent in the ku klux klan why does the group still exist in this country i attended a k.k.k. rally in trial of bill virginia where they hate groups. the national weather service in mount holly new jersey has issued a flood warning for the christie river at qut bridge until late tonight or until the warning is canceled fine sixteen pm friday the stage was nine point three feet flood stage is ten point five feet minor flooding is forecast forecast rise above flood stage by late this afternoon and continue to rise to near eleven point zero evening the river will fall below flood stage by this evening that fill the observed forecast locations and see the time chris christie river quits bridge ten

point five nine point three to friday five pm eleven point zero friday six pm. from racism you need to confront the klan head on since shrub has been elected. on all levels of this from this group to that group to all around the country. they're trying to. pull back the clock on white supremacy and their sisters and racism the white people have voted for trap all that stuff to come back there's a real threat. before the rally began officers equipped with the riot gear moved in slamming some protesters to the ground and then arrested four of them. many protesters were discussed it with the site that it appears law enforcement was protecting the klan given their violent history against black americans how do they protect that how do we have how do they have the right to go have hate speech in
5:34 pm
the middle of the freaking crowd they have that right they don't it's not ok hate speech is not free speech it's not let's go no word about that being like me you want to have fans who understand these people live. for me. joining me now to discuss this further is perry red civil rights activist and author of the as a condition of your freedom who is in the studio with me and you who were williams professor of history and dean of the college of arts and sciences at the university of st thomas who is based in minnesota now perry i want to address this question to you at the rally the k.k.k. they were outnumbered by anti k.k.k. protesters who strongly desire for these confederate statues to be removed now in your opinion or what history tells you what do these statues essentially represents is simply this. that embraces these is shameful past in
5:35 pm
america this a boring institution it just puts us in a place where we will not come close to ending what we know is is racial oppression and racism news country and so there is no way that america the bulk of america could stand for keeping these vestiges around in any place in the country and that's what the anti k.k.k. . protesters are saying they were saying that these confederate statues they represent white supremacy and they really don't belong in this city now dr williams i want to take a quick listen to a couple of protesters we heard at the end of that package there but they were alarmed that it seemed the officers were protecting the klan take a lesson. on how do they protect that how do we have the right to go have hate speech in the middle of the freaking crowd right there right they don't it's not ok hate speech is not free speech it's not let's go no
5:36 pm
word about that people like me who want to live and who want to stay. live. for me. dr williams those three protesters were a bit fired up they were pretty upset at that rally that i attended law enforcement came geared with riot gear and militarize in quitman in your opinion why would law enforcement be so willing to protect a violent hate group like the k.k.k. . in the united states we have a responsibility to ensure that people have an opportunity to articulate their opinions in the supreme court has ruled on this and several cases over the years looking at the importance of free speech and what the limitations on speech should or should not be certainly the members of the k.k.k. have a right to be able to voice their opposition to the removal of those statues in the same way that the protesters had every right to be in the park to articulate their concerns the police were there to ensure that no violence occurred that both sides
5:37 pm
had that opportunity and would be allowed to do so in a space that was safer both i think what you're hearing on the part of the protesters is frustration that often you don't see this type of police action when it involves folks who are raising issues of racial inequality if you think about black lives matter protests for example we've seen countless instances across united states where black lives matter protesters have been manhandled by police and haven't gotten the same protection and i think that's part of the the anx that you see on the part of the protesters here are saying why is this hate speech being produced or protected when in fact we don't see this often happening when you're talking about minorities under assault dr williams that's a good point and that's exactly what the and take k.k.k. protesters are saying they're like you would never see these many officers at a black lives matter protest protecting the black lives matter protesters now perry is there anything that you would like to add. a few years back back in two thousand
5:38 pm
and two i attended my first k.k.k. rally in opposition of course what they were standing for they held a protest on martin luther king day in jackson tennessee and i never forgot the necessity for the police officers in one case a state troopers to basically cordon off and protect them because outside of that there were some some white supremacy supporters along with those who were in opposition and those who are. i'm not go to knuckle confrontations so for those who are the target of the protests the police doing their job. protecting the first amendment is a necessity and is something that we need to respect right now given the k.k.k. history of hating jews lynching and murdering of black people perry why do they still exist in this country well unfortunately capitalism makes horror of all of
5:39 pm
our patriotic values in all of us and sadly enough the one of the gentleman in the in the clips as he showed over he spoke about the fear of a dominant class to dominant class in america white americans are protestants and this whole idea of protecting a heritage is more akin to protecting well the same way slavery was not about a war between the states it was not about states' rights that revisionist history is long past and long gone it was about protecting capital and that capital was was . came about through the labor force labor of a certain class black books and so this is what we've seen to day take your country back back to way back to days when i held all the resources dr
5:40 pm
williams is there anything you like to add to that. i would simply agree and say that i think part of the problem you're seeing nationally now in the removal of these types of markers of monuments in justice park was renamed justice park and it once been named for stonewall jackson the confederate war veteran or war general and the reason people are doing this is that monument some markers tend to celebrate the values of a society if we continue to honor slave holders what are we saying about where we are as a society our present. the supreme court once famously famously ruled that you know our value should be marked by the progress of an evolving society we've evolved beyond or we want to believe that we've evolved beyond the point that we celebrate a confederate history which is terry rightly points out was predicated on protecting the institution of slavery in the human bondage of people of color black people in this country so certainly at this point as we look at a national black lives matter movement as we talk about being post racial and all
5:41 pm
the problems inherent in that designation this is time to revisit that history and this isn't a question of white history or black history it's american history that has to be told honestly and done so in a way that affirms our democratic values i really quickly gentlemen we have about thirty seconds left i'm going to get a perry first off some say black lives matter is just as bad an evil as the klan would you say to a person i would say they're absolutely wrong and the fact is when we're talking about including a class of people who've been excluded from the benefits of america's dream then you can not oppose that with with any sort of value validation all right dr williams. well when people articulate that we should be saying all lives matter that may very well be true but the question is what laws are what who are the people that find themselves most in jeopardy in this moment they are persons of color black people and so if you truly believe as the founders did that all life is important in our lives or we're all people are created equal then you should be on
5:42 pm
board with black lives matter because those are the persons that are in jeopardy that's an affirmation of american values all right thank you so much gentlemen for your time and for joining me about was perry red civil rights activist and author of as a condition of your freedom and you hear him williams professor of history and dean of the college of arts and sciences at the university of st thomas that's it for race in america follow me on twitter at ashley banks underscore r t and don't forget to question more back to manila. and actually since mankind began exploring the cosmos we planned on putting people on mars the sister planet so close yet so far and according to nasa chief of human exploration of space william gerstenmaier mars could potentially be out of nasa's reach due to budgetary issues america's historic space exploration agency may be losing the race to the red planet so for more on this i'm being joined now by a former i assessed commander my friend favorite astronaut leroy chiao thanks for
5:43 pm
being with us leroy oh great to be back with. the national weather service in mount holly new jersey has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for west central kent county in central delaware northern talbot county in eastern maryland queen anne's county in northeastern maryland caroline county in eastern maryland southwestern kent county in northeastern maryland in till six forty five pm five thirty nine pm severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from your old town to nearest evansville to near shadyside a twenty miles per hour hazard sixty miles per hour wind gusts and quarter size hail source radar indicated impact minor damage to vehicles is possible

5:45 pm
queen anne's and tell but. five million dollars and he's recovering the first stages and showing that he can actually make it less expensive to launch and so for him to put people on mars i think my money would be there he's planning to put red dragon on mars in two thousand and twenty which will be an unmanned space capsule no astronauts on board but it's a demonstration and so if he's capable of doing that you know i wouldn't count him out in fact what's interesting is there's the possibility here of commercial government cooperation on going to mars and that's never happened before and gerstenmaier also said that nasa has allocated a budget of nineteen point five billion for fiscal year two thousand and seventeen that's less than half a percent of the federal budget what in your opinion is a good argument for them to up that amount. well you know if you're serious about
5:46 pm
space exploration you need to spend more of that half of one percent of our budget you know that's pretty much a drop in the bucket and you know back in two thousand and nine when i was part of the white house appointed committee for the obama administration on space policy we told the administration then if you're serious about exploration you've got to up the budget three billion dollars in two thousand and ten and keep that level just of for inflation in order to have an exploration program but please don't fall short of that and say you still want to do it if you can't do it let's just keep flying space space station and space shuttle unfortunately that is exactly what we asked them not to do and here we are we're you know we're short on money and you know so things are going forward we are building the next spacecraft to ryan and the next rocket space launch system but you know if the nation's going to be serious about a government exploration program we need significant funding increase and there you have it that's the final word on space from former. commander of veteran astronaut

the way up to fifty thousand depending on what kind of access series you want made the harmony enjoyed prototype from a base creations she blinks her eyes changes expressions carries on a conversation and has orgasms these dolls will start around ten thousand bucks and go up from there but you can't put a price tag on happiness right well that's exactly what this c.e.o. of real doll is trying to create mack with until the time that he is creating a girlfriend with whom the owner can bond a real relationship with the not real objects i imagine showing up for a date with a can of valvoline rather than a bouquet of roses you can swallow. and . some even claim that sex bots can help prevent the rape of women or child abuse but experts argue that the machines could actually reinforce sexual disorders like pedophilia and make it more likely for someone to want to act out their desires on real people but as artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly sophisticated

there have been a trail of legal moral ethical and social concerns that have not been discussed amy of and wise and very assistant professor of ethics at the university of guelph and co-founder of the foundation for responsible robotics that says that there isn't a conversation happening in the general public about what is acceptable permissible and what should be promoted when it comes to sex robots we wanted to point out what was happening both in the world of technology development as well as in the humanities and the act. makes fear you know what ethicists and philosophers were saying about these things to bring these opinions together and to really start to engage the public on thinking about where we want this technology to go robin mackenzie director of law and ethics that can't last school in the u.k. says that there is little law here and legislators may have to regulate sex bots for safety and health concerns what i'm saying is that the future. will no longer be so we need to do so and. we should be treated if we're going to be

engaged in. relationships with them we need to do some of. what should be in place to critique. and what suddenly your rights responsibilities untruths and should be seen as all of the product lines are primarily female there are some male dolls for sale but some theater ologist predict that many will debts human partners for robots in less than a decade reporting in new york trinity chavez r.t. all right to discuss this further i'm joined now by part of the show a little media analyst lytle of lionel media. lytle you and i did a thirty minute special on this robot takeover stuff break it down for me what's the ethical and moral and legal questions involved especially with those those those robots that are made to look like children. well let's let's get to that right away first of all ethical moral religious zealot other people worry about that number one you know somebody is going to want to buy and please forgive me but

respond but it's not mark my words you know while back in two thousand and two by analogy the supreme court dealt with something which is a little similar there was suddenly where people were wondering what happens if you have pornography that by virtue of c.g.i. or photoshopping or some gun of of computer razzmatazz we could make it appear that a child is involved in some untoward terrible act but it was it at the supreme court said no that's not good enough because that will inadvertently involve other behaviors that are protected what this morals down to and jan is that we have course have to have a law we can't allow people to do this and sort of saying saying they want to buy a machine. no i had to go right go ahead don't have gradually children grab the machine and let me days of the walking around new york with all the bugs plastic surgery those robots look more realistic than you could ever imagine
