charlottesville has now declared a state of emergency over this rally a small city has become a ground zero for white nationalist neo confederate and always try to activist in the us this includes the k.k.k. in their fight to keep traces of the confederate legacy there intact this is after a plan was announced to remove the statue and to rename two local parks. we also spoke to political and social commentator and brian logan he gave us his view on proceedings kind of expected this anytime you have you know groups of whites i want to come together to talk about anything they do is we then be a white in a positive way of course you're going to get people to come a kind of protest you're going to have people matter you also have. the same kind of thing happen in california over berkeley so it isn't a surprise that

going to remove parts of the confederate legacy there in the area that's what they were protesting counter protesters turned up there were clashes there was violence and had been injuries but then things took a turn for the extreme worse with this incident lease one possibly as many as two or three cars driving into a very crowded area our correspondent explained people coming off the bonnet of the cars which were heavily damaged in the process many people injured lots of blood as we saw and possibly fatal if at least is the latest information your thirty's as we heard didn't intervene particularly after that incident things do seem to quieten down. to an extent now and as we've seen certain parts now the police have set up

than one vehicle. clearly the crowds there extremely distressed no suggesting anything was going to go to this level of violence lots of people injured and we've had reports of at least one fight our city. and these accounts of protesters to unite the right march taking place there in charlottesville virginia to unite the right protestors unhappy about the decision to remove a monument to rename parks that considered. right the confederate history in the area that has been violent skirmishes earlier in the day the how being had been injury sustained on the day the police haven't seen any particular extent intervene but then came the bass riff and consider involving the vehicles plowing into the crowd. and not has. caused a lot of people now to vacate the area and clearly lots of people in shock at this

group of the protesters were targeted but what was happening is there were white nationalists holding a rally to protest plans by the city of charlottesville virginia to remove a statue of general robert usually a famous confederate soldier and there were several hundred protesters marching in a long line. cord broke into a group of them at this point there are reports of multiple injuries and it's also being reported that there is possibly one fatality already obviously we'll be keeping up with that and trying to bring you more information once we have it all on that you know who was injured and how this all happened this demonstration turned violent right at the beginning there were barricades dividing the two groups but they came down and police temporarily retreated and people were seen clubbing each other. one another and there was pepper spray being hit on all
