this campaign for quite a while now but we refresh it after the events in charlottesville this weekend we're calling for the firing of steve band and sebastian cork and steven miller who are three of the most. prominent supporters of the white nationalists there are i would call it white supremacist movement inside the white house. of course radical ideology authoritarian ideology goes all the way up to the top and starts with the president but we feel like the these three advisors are particularly odious we had somebody on my radio show last week who was from a group called life after hate dot org is yeah sure. they did they just they the obama administration funded them to the tune of four hundred thousand dollars to deprogram nazis and trump just pulled up the funny dot in the and apparently it was

his wife working in the administration yes who led that i i'm i was just i didn't i had no idea i was baffled but yeah gorka is a fascinating character he. when at the inauguration he wore insignia and medals from a hunger and nationalist fascist group that was aligned with the fascist movement and the actual not seats he wore this insignia the end like the french i mean yeah it i mean it's a hug area and kind of version of that a modern day version when asked about it he's denied that he is part of the group the group itself said they're very proud of him and they've said that he pledged lifelong membership. to the group in fact he has used multiple times the via an initial which is a indicator that he is a member of that group of course if he had revealed that when he immigrated to this

country he would have been allowed to immigrate given that he was affiliated with always in the white house and now he's an advisor to the president that's my buddy so that's sebastian gorka what tell us the stories of steve miller and and steve benen and why specifically you know. each of them well i mean it's no it's no secret that steve bannon has been a promoter built the platform through breitbart which he called the platform for the all right. in many ways was the. mastermind in the presidential campaign of trying to energize and solidify that base and what we've seen this afternoon is that base is energized that base supports the president entirely and sees this as their moment and bannon's one of the people that helped make that happen steven miller was someone you know fascinating background. grew up jewish

progressive parents and in california and really took a major turn. he's he's someone that has been promoting that that white supremacist and white nationalist ideology for many many years of red that his high school friends talk about this but you know so you know republican administrations have been dog whistle and race for ever and. racism and anti-semitism richard nixon famously and the southern strategy ronald reagan his first public speech as a candidate for president in philadelphia mississippi where goodman schwerner and cheney were murdered. you know it cetera. how different is it. you know at a certain level it's like when it's dog whistle it's only being heard. by the crazies when it's wide out in the open like trump is doing right now.

i'm wondering if that is better or worse yeah because you know on the one hand it's like now a lot of people can see it and go oh my god to be shocked by it who wouldn't even notice the dog whistle before on the other hand a certain percentage of those people are going to say mom what's interesting maybe i should become one of them so in your opinion what's the difference between the dog whistle on the explicit shout out that we've seen with say reagan versus trump well it remains to be seen which is better it remains to be seen whether having this out in the open will actually cause people of conscience to break with this administration with a generation of republican racial dog whistles and policies break with the policy of voter suppression among communities of color or will in bold in the far right i'm not sure we know that yet but the break is your hope i'm assuming yes you

almost you when when the president bank clearly bankruptcy himself morally when he morally shows himself to be ethically illegitimate in the eyes of the values that americans at least have been speaking about for generations that is the moment when when a break needs to happen and so you know my view is that the republicans who are especially republicans in congress who have been enabling his agenda since he came to power who worked hard to get him elected who worked hard to have him come to power despite all the things that they initially said that they were against this is really. the time not only to say i disagree with that particular press conference at those particular comments but actually to begin the work of undoing

the damage that they've already done. this administration's already done to the society to our democratic institutions it seems that there's a there's something happening on two different levels and they may even need to be responded to in two different ways the president's shout outs are not only to the races but also to authoritarian personalities the people that john dean wrote about in conservative without conservatives of our conscience. and i'm wondering in your mind which is which is the more problematic it seems like the authoritarianism i mean that's what really drove the nazis more than than racism was the sense of you know the country was destroyed by world war one or impotent we've got to get out there in the streets and kick some butt etc etc yeah i mean i'm not sure it's an evil either or they're both. dangerous forces that can be unleashed for bad part of why my organization ben the our jewish action has been

it's physically dangerous to to you know people someone was killed over the weekend and dozens of people were injured and dozens of people are injured. the other thing that. and that ideology of white supremacy which is not new it's kind of baked into our entire country's history sadly. has. both. killed people and also diminished everyone who subscribes to it you know as a rabbi. part of what i see is one of the key teachings of judaism is to be able to recognize the divinity in every single human being recognize that infinite uniqueness recognize that infinite value and to build societies in which humanity can thrive and. there are many forces in the world that dehumanizing us but

but racism white supremacy anti semitism those are among the most toxic that we've seen throughout history you know how do you how do you expect this to play out. well what i expect is that the american people will recognize and remember the values on which we. have been standing for for a long time will recognize that we're not and you know nationalist state that we are not. about a particular ethnicity what we are about is certain values and principles the principles of democracy the principles that every single person should be able to be valued within this society regardless of your religious beliefs regardless of your ideology and background i think that the vast vast majority of americans
