those are stories that we tell every week and you know what they're working. with. in the last. part of. this week. on larry king now those stars of shark maybelle ziering and terry it's so bad it's good sarah i mean it's just i didn't think it was going to be a cult film when it became a. blessing in disguise quality of catching the site by fans are what i feel are
11:31 pm
the most supportive fans in all of entertainment when something is exciting journey united states it's instantly picked up by all the other areas around the world where fans are very much like minded you have said that it reignited. it really did i think for a long time i was kind of you know the high school in college but i never got to play my mother before so it really helped me on a lot of ways to play all the roles plus sharknado six d. where larry sixty one. is a jew with glasses it's all next on larry king now. welcome to larry king now today's special guest ions earing and terror read i am shot to fame as steve sanders of the hit t.v. show devil hills nine zero two one zero and has starred in films like domino terry is known for roles in movies like american pie and the. just to name
11:32 pm
a few together the two stall in the mid to hit film franchise shark made all the fifth installment title shot metal global swarming airs sunday night at eight pm eastern on the side for a network ok. ok start with you how did shark medo come to you. my agent called me up and i gave me a script in the city of an author on this movie called dark skies so i read it and i thought it's this is the silliest movie i've ever read my life like flying sharks like people in beverly hills and this is so dumb and you know and that night i went out to dinner with my friends and i said i'm in the worst script of all time so badly sky's yeah it was dark skies and then i was telling him the story and they were cracking up i think you have to do this movie it's hilarious and i really did i get so i called it and i said you want let's a stupid move you know i'm going to see it's inside if i is one that i'll be for an
11:33 pm
hour again you know and then like forty to shooting it they tell me and i and that they're going to name the show now shark meta i mean i'm like no no no you can't do that we don't want that our reza really it's a horrible name and then our knowledge at it in order to get you for me it was a straight up offer like tara. but there were starting shooting a week later which for me told me that someone dropped out you don't cast a movie for days before you start shooting it. and as i read the script i kind of saw why there are a lot of holes in the script that were left to be filled by visual effects and visual effects are really expensive and knowing that this was going to be done on a micro budget i was seeing visions of sit in marty croft style visual effects igniting the sea monster. sleestak which kind of thing i thought i'd be working with puppets and i told my wife that this is going to be a huge misstep by john kerry we're going to turn it down halfway through the script i told her this is this is something i should do and with my daughter. pena still
11:34 pm
in delhi and mia on her hip she said no you need to go to work you know sometimes i lose sight of the fact that a husband a father and a provider and i do what i do for a living sometimes it's like a jungle gym i get to play on but you're right i've had to take one for the team to make my insurance through a union it was a bother you the film was pope for map oh no not at all i mean that it's so bad it's good so i mean it's a joke if you don't take yourself seriously i knew that you know what i was doing i didn't think it was going to be a cult film when it became what it turned into be a blessing in disguise are you surprised i am surprised because i was basing it on metrics that are used to measure other movies when you look at sharknado what we've been able to accomplish can't be measured on the typical critical scale it's pretty much created its own genre it's a fun movie where everyone's in on the joke except the actors in the movie how does it work visual effects it's all it's all good is reshoot well some of it we should
11:35 pm
all of it is but sometimes it's all visual effects but sometimes like some of his a crazy wonderings writing this arc has actually. riding a green thing but it's actually the sets are really in new york in tokyo in australia so there are all greens and we sometimes have some practical sharks but they're not real there by being. in the newer global swarming. us it's a global swarm we have decimated california we've pretty much ruined the entire united states. we've been to space and now we're taking the storm to a global playing field yeah the signals are getting bigger and bigger and stronger and stronger hold me for some whose hasn't seen it but will watch it all. sharks tornadoes occur and sharks swept up by the tornadoes and to attack earth is that act will as they fall out of the of the tornado they rain down on icy
11:36 pm
humidity the two of you play what. we play has been a life in the movie and we now become like the mastermind of shark meat as andy experts yeah pretty much how to global leaders ensure already spoiling them started well we started to figure out how to control the shark menace. no one. you know they morphed there's now in this shark you know five there's a greater understanding of how they occur from where they've come from and how long they've been around so now we're able to not necessarily control them but to work with them to a sheet of our object also they my character now has become a superhero she's not even really what's left of her anyway yet he's not really even human so she could fly he has special gadgets and it's amazing to play starting to human to superhero so we have a lot more power to control the sharks you get to like this sharks no no
11:37 pm
they're always going to be the attack and just in the movie they are the enemy and . we don't want to like the sharks we want to. we're going to save the world and you have unexpected cameos rights a live you know john there are those of appeared yeah i'd like to appear can i sign you know my dad growing jewish or. did you want a second one. i love it. this was supposed to be a one time only oh yeah now it's fifth year yeah. why do you get cancer on social media the social media outcry was here with us kids but this side by fans or what i feel are the most supportive fans in all of entertainment because we're all now connected on social media through all these different platforms when something is exciting here in the united states it's instantly picked up by all the other areas around the world where the fans are very much like minded and i also think
11:38 pm
that it's a family it's so it's become almost like the super bowl of the summer time and strength shark week people now going to watch this movie and it can be so bad and good that it's become this cult that this party is just a little bit of a party as they leave look forward to watching this movie when you're acting in something as camp is this. do you act too or do you do it tongue in cheek never tongue in cheek it's like here is we don't do this is not can be either this is a very real situation in this imaginary circumstance and that's part of what enables the audience to suspend disbelief because it is so preposterous and crazy the fact that we play it straight and serious let's say and a half if we were laughing along with them it would all the wind out in sales and you finish the first one and you sort of finished were you surprised i was shocked i mean i didn't we did no press on the breast on i didn't even see it. so i was away in mexico on occasion and i get a phone call like can you believe what happened what's happening and i'm thinking
11:39 pm
what was there an earthquake or something because i'm going to disaster they check it oh it's going to huge a million trees come in and i'm like why i had no clue it was astonishing i was working in las vegas and my phone was alerting every way it possibly alerts fibrilation tweets and photos and calls and i just thought my phone was broken. but literally there were over five thousand tweets a minute i was getting calls my text messages were spooling up and i thought really it was my demise was very surprised to find out that it was a warmly received that we were getting tons. shards was it was going to be sure. we were making america. and this could be the lead. not just for a parent but for the world. that's right. it's going to. have a bad feeling about. the bigger. stronger.
11:40 pm
11:41 pm
global swarming. that's sure. that was a clip from short nato short nato global swarming it is sunday on this side by channel and we're talking with its stars to are read and i in zero eight ok you have said that it reignited your career it really did and i think for a long time i always got to play it you know the high school girl on the ground college but i never got to play a mother before and it took me five fall and i didn't like that position where no one believes as a mother you are too young and then we have kids so it really helped me on a lot of ways to play older roles and what do you see from this is certainly it has been a nice bum to my career but i'm in this for the long haul there's stagnant moments in every actor's career it's called in between jobs for gigs out of clothes and curtain and the next opportunity you have to work is the next step east on this is
11:42 pm
really just i think another step along the way could this be a feature film in theaters. i actually here's to hoping that i actually think it with the family it's as big as it is it could it could where the idea that this is something it would it would be tough because we do this on such a small budget if we were to infuse fifty sixty million dollars into making this movie it would change it if our visual effects were on the james cameron level it wouldn't be sharknado certainly could be a feature film but it was still have to be done like there were rocky horror picture into the whole kind of roles are you seeing no. no my next movie coming out called worthless and it's about bullying and anti bling movie which means a lot to me. and so many people are bullied with social media are by seeming and to some of different levels but this film shows you about bullying if say i believe
11:43 pm
you and you go home and you get money away from the lay her and she gets mad and she goes away her friends it's as if fact and how one person how to fax so many people at a domino effect and you know it's an important topic they need to be spoken about and you see it going you know it's opened up a lot of doors for me mostly i like to create my own destiny i'm working on producing a movie also for side. similar genre different themes. that other areas and other businesses that i that i concentrate on for the most part being a dad and then my wife that's really the best role of ever had any of you dealt with public recognition oh yeah i mean american pie was always the movies for me not definitely and now it's not american pie it's shark neda which i never in the wildest dreams would have ever thought that sharknado would have been the one that became bigger than a big american pie or. fan support or is it is very flattering that
11:44 pm
sometimes a person doozie has and could be a bit overwhelming but it's always nice to hear people come up and say hey man i really did chart. you know or a member you from dancing with the stars or the apprentice or the no two one oh i had a pretty long career so laurie frances oh gee do you made it all the way to the end but trump fired i got fired well james got emotional. ok the bullying movie when's it coming out now about september second worthless yes and you play who i play it the bully who then becomes bullied so the tables turn to get to see both sides of the. boy yeah it makes you see that tara reid and i in ziering our guys when we were turn we talked about biggest russi good talents and more in a round of you if you only knew shot medo global warming there's all these search
11:45 pm
11:46 pm
it's not business as usual it's business like it's never been done before. the american middle class has been railroaded by washington politics. big body corporate it really does throw down a lot of boys that's how it is in the new culture in this country now that's where i come in. i mean it's still on our to you america i'll make sure you don't get railroaded you'll get the straight talk in the break. with terror are the stars of shot may go on shot may goes next episode is sunday nights it's the mega-hit and this one is shot made on global swarming that was trying to be the news that was supposed to be in three it was scheduling that prevented him from making that appearance though. he would play the presidents of
11:47 pm
us to play the president and then we couldn't get him and. for them to keep him in play the president but that's kind of thing they when it's mario lopez two to play the press me i think it's all scheduling i hear that people watch this short medo theme parties oh yeah they get to great and insane they just are dolled up a sax i mean every lady shuts up a sharks and they put these crazy nets around themselves or do you watch it on sunday we watch it live together with the audience so they can ask us questions so we'll be lost faith there's a premiere party at the link hotel so we're going to go into the premier party for a t.v. movie it's that at the hotel it's that over and the fans go live with us and you tweet up so we tweet while they watch and ask us questions in the instagram and it's wild. ok we're not going to play a game of if you only knew i just saw some questions that you know boy who was your childhood so i would be crush. when a writer cameron. secret talent. i can
11:48 pm
juggle my kids you can juggle you. don't miss. out on the sofa. what cookie. biggest risk you have it took. probably gosh larry this is a tough one i say taking as well. yes i honestly think that this probably was the biggest professional risk i didn't trust anybody doomed you could tell me. that there's nothing definite in us have fresh air guilty pleasure ice cream ice cream. sitting home alone i say who are why you're home alone a lot yet i live alone not matter anything so i like to sit on it on they can have three married with kids you're not married now go boyfriend. or some out. look it up rep have you let's make it harder then i think maybe people fear sharks
11:49 pm
auto's phantom counter probably when someone came up to me dressed as a shark nato couldn't see them the created this this elaborate costume where you couldn't even see them with it but it was literally a tornado but it had all these little figurines stuck to it and a chainsaw sound effect it was i mean i appreciate it but it was really. weird really weird mind i was at a comic con and the guy was actually jeff bridges the did and he really wouldn't stop talking to me like i was that bunny and he played character with it the whole time and i think. come a consecrated san diego or. something on your professional bucket list. a sitcom i'd like to do a sitcom i'd like to make the mix of theatre and television all the same time like
11:50 pm
the fact that most of them film here in los angeles i sleep in my own bed at the end of the day. some succumbs of me always wondered if i would actually do not a sitcom that would lead to the t.v. and the netflix or amazon or so many great shows on today as well so in your personal book atlas. would like to take my wife around the world see some of the sights that i've been fortunate to see in my career bring my kids with me. maybe have kids. one of them when i'll be good mother are you do you have kids in the show yes do the sharks of the kids big time. who's a person you trade places with for a day. you know larry i have to say you you've met so many incredible people that is really astonishing i had prince weisel for every day you really have what i had never had a shark we're going to change that it's sharknado six inmates wish to give us
11:51 pm
a larry oh what's something you so money you trade places with food. i would probably trade places with alan because he's always having a good time and he did a great job or something you wish you were better at basketball swimming strangers job you have a good short order cook and a summer camp. on scrubs. because he smokes cigarettes a lot and so i played a cigarette. being a celebrity. you know celebrity is never been the goal for me always want to be a working actor and celebrity i look at like capital some very careful how i spend it and i find the best perk is being able to spend it helping others as you as find fresh fast haven't yet that's pretty nice that he said something we should all be paying more attention to. wow he's coming at me first with these get to think turbo
11:52 pm
you take this i think boeing absolutely united given. we should all pay more attention to to our children. and i've always wished i had more time spent on my kids it's our scar that even other potential we've got to find a guy that is ted good things. don't forget shot made old be global swarming airs sunday night august sixth that eight o'clock eastern on the side and at work and we have some questions on the internet that really julie mauer on twitter is there any chance shot nato will be coming to netflix it's on to. oh ok you can watch the previous installments all on netflix steve am on the larry king now blog how do you react to hearing people call short medo a bad movie all you ever offended by people who just hate it does anybody hated yes some people say that. go back to real movies how can you do this they are lowering
11:53 pm
your standards but i mean it is it is d.c. i was seventy two on twitter do you believe actors entire careers could be defined by one role of franchise and are you afraid of experiencing that with this and i kind of thought that might be possible after nine zero two one zero but as long as you hang in there i've been very persistent i've always wanted to be an actor i'm going to continue that you know ultimately if you find other. projects other vehicles it's all this and you're known for that or you'll be affected by this now and i would have six more movies coming out is there on that's the commonest everything. morgan shave on larry king now block i and what were some of your favorite memories from working on guiding light my god you're on guiding light i was on guiding light for a couple years i worked in new york city there. and met some great people i played cameron stewart cameron stafford stuart great great soap name. you know we would
11:54 pm
shoot sixty pages a day on a soap opera which is a tremendous amount of work and there were no cue cards or. no teleprompters so it really helped me stay home my skills and being prepared for the work for the day it's a great training ground and i met some great people who do it so yeah the days are our lives days of all yeah and that is rather right oh you must have been of that now she was actually at her knee with the injuries at this homeless crowd that. hit some hot homeless girl. daniel christopher thomas on facebook tara what was her favorite destination on terra dice sardinia italy why this is so beautiful and the food is so good and i had a lot of friends that really did this on the larry king now barb who's your dream costar. morgan whether you get as there were other than others at the end that. you know it's kind of hard to say i i hate to focus on
11:55 pm
one particular thing i'm more open to what the universe has to hold for me as a leader of the capra. really deep is also as our film still you're number one in two so would you do a television series. television series for sure in a second that's consistent work course that was started on facebook i endure regret not taking part in the nine zero two one zero reboot. you know i had they brought back a nine zero two one zero ran for five years that's great but when they approached me they didn't have a good story line if i was going to resurrect steve sanders i wanted to have some connection with what i had built in the ten years that i was associated with the show they were not interested in connecting what was with what they had and for that i wasn't interested in you know aggrandizing their project it was that show on ten years not when i was on for ten years on the fox network and then came back not
11:56 pm
zero two one zero was on i think the c.w. for five. it just wasn't something that was really that appealing as he stands on the larry king novel. and would you have any interest in doing a nine zero two one zero reunion show with the original cast oh yeah absolutely we're all still really good friends when you work with someone so long for like for ten years at such an early age and it's. become like brothers and sisters so they're all doing great i'm really happy for their achievements and i would love to work with them again for the ken would be awesome ok thanks very much for being with us. larry great to see it thanks so much not. a big thanks to mike you'll see me the shark shark nato six where larry six we will have larry. he's a jew with glasses i guess so. be sure to tune into shot nato global warming it airs sunday august six thirty pm eastern on the sovine net worth is always you can find me on twitter or kids things i'll see you next i.

the most. society on politics as a species of analyst and needless political theater paula. titian's morphed into celebrity are two ruling parties are in reality one part of corporate and those who attempt to conquer this vast breathless universe of fake news designed to push through the military and exploitation of a neo liberal or opt for so far to the margins of society including by a public broadcasting system that has sold its soul for corporate money that we might as well be mice squeaking against an avalanche but squeak we must tell. us. about your sudden passing i've only just learned you were a south and taken your last strong turn. your act caught up to you as we all knew it would i tell you i'm sorry i could so i write these last words in hopes to put
