the unjust and the u.s. saudi connection medea welcome back good to be on the show to read haven't you with us so the administration is supposed to certify every not ninety days this is the congressional law that iran is complying with the deal and the i.a.e.a. every month i guess reports and says yes they're comply yes they're complying yes they're complying and yet. there is this debate the next deadline is next month about whether we're going to certify their compliance why. well the administration is trying to invent some excuse to say they're not complying the i.a.e.a. has said eight different times now iran is complying the trump administration has had to admit to congress now twice because they have this every ninety day deadline that yes iran is complying as you said the next one comes up mid october and yet trump and u.s. ambassador to the u.n.

nikki haley have said no we don't think they're really complying now where they're getting this i mean there's no factual evidence to say iran is not complying they're just trying to invent and look for excuses and move the goal post outside of what's supposed to be within the compliance to be able to say that iran is not complying because they want to impose new sanctions on iran they want to. perhaps it's part of the pressure they're getting from apac from israel who knows but they are looking for a way to get out of this nuclear deal and as you said in the opening they also want to undo everything that barack obama has done it certainly seems that way nikki haley little laid out the argument for declaring iran was noncompliant one of her big points was that were not doing enough to stop their quote bad behavior here's

a quote dear radio we are gail with designed to be too big to fail. the deal drew an artificial line between the iranian regime's nuclear development and the rest of it flawless behavior it said we've made this deal on the nuclear side so none of the regimes other bad behavior is important enough to threaten the nuclear agreement. the result is that for advocates of the deal everything and our relationship with the iranian regime my for now be subordinated to the preservation of the agree. so unless i completely missed something i don't recall the rand deal having anything to do with hezbollah or bad behavior or syria i mean more internal human rights abuses in america is that what she just said that is exactly what she says she's trying to move the goal post put things inside this nuclear agreement that have nothing to do with the nuclear agreement luckily as you know tom it's not just the united states and iran there are other players there are other. russia

china and germany germany and yes and they're not going to go along with the united states on this they know that iran is complying they want the nuclear deal to stay in place they say this deal has a verdict a war with iran and let's keep moving forward on this so the good thing is that the u.s. is alone in this you know if the united states says we no longer serve our compliance with the steel and the other five parties to this deal say look we disagree what happens what happens is that the european and russian and chinese companies keep getting an upper hand these of the u.s. companies in terms of getting into a very very large market the u.s. loses out and i. would for me is worrisome is this will will this strain thin the hardliners within iran and if and will it eventually cause them to pull

out of the deal hopefully not i think iran will be very moderate around this and will work with the divisions and try to show that the u.s. is the un reasonable player in this it seems like the principal argument being made against iran by aliens in particular and trying to sort of echoed this but i think he's kind of out of his league when it comes to even remembering all the players are in the middle east is is his ball and and that of course a concern that is driven. i mean not just by the u.s. but particularly by israel on the other hand you've got saudi arabia has been talking and has been trash talking iran seriously for a while that goes back to the sunni shia war argument rivalry whatever but our ally saudi arabia is basically supporting isis and there was a piece in the new york. post today. suggesting the saudi government or people in

the saudi government actually paid for a dry run in one thousand nine hundred nine of nine eleven with two saudis who were in afghanistan in the same camps as the other hijackers bloody bloody blah i mean so this is this is our friend saudi arabia how is that you know supporting isis and attacking or possibly having some association with an attack on us of nine eleven how is that different from iran or less hypocritical for example than iran supporting his bill well it's more hypocritical i mean if you were to put it on the one hand iran both its internal and external policies in saudi arabia are rational administration would have to conclude well we should be a little bit more towards the iran side but the way that it's not just nikki haley i mean trump his first trip was out of the country was to go to saudi arabia and he has thrown in his weight totally with the saudis especially in this rift between

saudi and qatar and the other gulf. countries so. i think the champion ministration is way over its head now in its alliance with the saudis and now if they indeed are going to step up this effort to pull out of the iran nuclear deal i think it's not just going to be chaos in the other players but it's going to be so many other countries in the middle east that are going to say hey this is just cannot stand ever since nine eleven it's like we've been pouring gasoline into the middle east it's just you know terrible not intended it will and then if you go to gasoline in the middle east it is because of the oil of saudi arabia that we be supporting this country for so long but let's not forget that iran has a lot of oil as well not as much as arabia but it is less exploited there's more money to be made there so i think it's a it's a very interesting correlation of forces right now and that as much tough talk as

the u.s. is doing about iran it makes no sense meanwhile the united nations security council members the entire united nations just voted sanctions against north korea are you going to tell us about that well yes and i think you know the u.s. administration was playing trying to push even further was pushing for like a naval blockade and a total cut off of oil imports and the russians and the chinese say no we're not going to do this i mean there is the chinese do not want to see the north korean regime collapse and this flood of people over its borders and they also don't want to see a warmer more and they don't want to see a war and they were and they don't want to see the u.s. on their border either if the regime collapsed so there is very little room for the tough talk in terms of the international community so what was passed was toned down now we have to see what the north koreans reaction is because even though it's

telling down the north koreans had said if the u.s. pressure is further sanctions we're going to retaliate. so it is a very dangerous situation in north korea and they don't back down and it is not like the iranians where they want to keep a deal in place and want to be moderate the case of north korea they the government thinks that the tougher we talk and the tough we act the more we have a chance of not being attacked while it's sort of the cornered rat syndrome i mean there's a little tiny country that's trying to you know we're going to but there's also a relationship between the u.s. pushing pushing on iran for north korea to say oh even when they make a deal as in the case of iran this trump administration is not going to want to keep the deal so why should north korea then make a deal well that's the perfect segue to my next question which was if the u.n. security council or the u.s. can dial back the craziness of the trumpet ministration with regard to north korea

can they dial it back with regard to iran the deal was certified by or was it i'm not sure if the if the iran deal was certified by or run through the u.n. or was it just of six parties it's six parties yes but you know the six parties represent the. security the security council and they don't want to see this deal dial back and i think just today. angela merkel came forward and said we like the iranian nuclear deal we helped negotiate it we would like to negotiate something similar in the case of north korea so there are leaders that are coming forward to say not only do we not support the u.s. in this position we're ready to take the lead to see that this is dial back because nato is saying oh if there is some kind of war if if north korea attacks why does that kick in article five of nato to say that we have to step in there and get involved in this so they have quote skin in the game so strong incentive the

iranian nuclear program was on hold. sixteen years ago on nine eleven the korean north korean nuclear program was on hold sixteen years ago nine eleven george bush came out and said axis of evil iraq iran and north korea we attacked iraq noranda north korea said we've got to get a nuclear weapon quick we just have thirty seconds left or so but isn't this the stupid kind of policy that leads to these kind of situations and do you think that will be dialing back any days well it's the absolute stupid policy and it is scary to think with somebody like trump who does not want to be seen as stepping back without having one where this is leading up to i mean i think he does have people in the military who understand going to war with not korea with north korea is not a good idea going towards the iran is not
