5:00 pm
the monarchy a war of words the white house pushes back on a claimed the us has declared war on north korea. and aid is pouring into puerto rico after hurricane maria battered the i'm led by is that enough. then a major medical breakthrough in the fight against hiv and aids that it tells later in the show. it's monday september twenty fifth five pm in washington d.c. this week and you're watching r.t.
5:01 pm
america we begin today with the war of words between the u.s. and north korea today that country's foreign minister accused the u.s. of declaring war on north korea the white house just announced that calling it absurd or not the tough talk is escalating here's our teeth came up and now it's important to note that the foreign minister who made the comments regarding u.s. aircraft was responding to an earlier statement from u.s. president donald trump on twitter in twitter in his twitter statement donald trump had said that north korea's leader quote is not going to be around much longer and so we now have this response from north korea's foreign minister now in response to the statement from the north korean foreign minister about the shooting down of airplanes we now have a response from the pentagon the pentagon is saying if north korea does not stop their provocative actions we will provide the president with options now there has not yet been an official response from the white house the white house.
5:02 pm
spokesperson said there was not an official response but that's not going to stop donald trump from getting on twitter and the whole world is probably expecting donald trump to continue this war of words on social media let's take a listen to what's already gone on between the north koreans and donald the united states has great strength and patients but if it is forced to defend itself words allies we will have no choice but to totally destroy north korea. rocket. is going to suicide mission for him so and for his regime. kind of measure will be taken decided by the chairman of the state the fears commission. but i think that the strongest ever hundreds might be tested in the pacific. where this month north korea tested its first hydrogen bomb a new level of nuclear weapon and now they are threatening to test another one but this time to test the hydrogen bomb in the pacific ocean so the question remains
5:03 pm
what will the united states do if north korea indeed does carry out their test of a hydrogen bomb in the pacific ocean now from the beginning of this crisis russia and china have proposed a double freeze to deescalate the situation on the peninsula they've proposed that north korea freeze its nuclear proliferation as well as its provocative missile tests in exchange for south korea and freezing their provocative military drills and getting rid of the fat missile system which is a the terminal high altitude defense system which is a strike enabling missile system the united states has erected in south korea so questions are being raised as to why this this proposal for a double freeze and a deescalation in the resumption of negotiations is not being taken seriously meanwhile we see this war of words escalating and many people are wondering could this end up with a very very dangerous situation resulting in what's now a very heated exchange of comments from the leaders of two countries and for more on the latest unfolding with the u.s.
5:04 pm
and north korea we turn now to john the ford editor at new york watch quarterly so now in the eyes of north korea's foreign minister president trump has declared war on his country which he hasn't the white house called that absurd and today in new york the foreign minister told reporters that kim jong un's military would consider shooting down american bombers let's take a lesson. the u.s. has made a declaration of war we will have. right countermeasure losing the right to shoot down the united states strategic bombers even if they do not come into our airspace well the question of who won't be around much longer will be answered then is how he ended the news conference do you see this as inflammatory when official war indeed has not been declared oh yes of course it's inflammatory but it's on the part of north korea a little bit like the most roaring up at the lion. the north koreans are incapable
5:05 pm
of attacking the united states in any way except perhaps defensively when the u.s. bombers and fighter jets. buzzed the coastline or the demilitarized zone between the north and the south. north koreans do have a lot of bluster they like to talk big it's the united states however that simultaneously now bombing seven sovereign states in the middle east and it's the united states that it's that has invaded in occupied iraq and afghanistan and in the eyes of the north koreans they have to consider iraqi direct was deconstructed and then destroyed afterwards after it was completely denuclearized by the united states and the u.n. sanctions libya likewise was denuclearize voluntarily and then it was attacked by the united states. yes north korea itself was burned to the ground in between one
5:06 pm
nine hundred fifty one and one nine hundred fifty three u.s. air force general curtis lemay himself said in one nine hundred fifty three in an interview i'm sorry in testimony before the congress that we've burned down every town in north korea so it's quite easy to understand how paranoid the north koreans are with the us in the so koreans doing joint military exercises off the coast twice a year but the infamous and temporary trump travel ban set to expire the white house sunday announced an updated version that seemingly indefinite and include some new comers notably two governments with which president trump has been publicly feuding cmon divers are has the latest information on who can and who can't come into the united states president donald trump's travel ban was comprised of six countries iran and yemen somalia syria sudan and libya now the version allowed by the supreme court temporarily blocked all travel from these countries with exception to dual
5:07 pm
nationals and those with immediate family or a work or study program in the united states now this new presidential proclamation imposes indefinite restrictions and features many of the same original countries and some new faces sudan has been dropped on the list while north korea venezuela and chad have been added now let's take a look at some of the newcomers starting with north korea and its leader kim jong il and who many could argue has become trump's biggest adversary in the presidential proclamation trump says north korea does not cooperate with the united states government in any respect and fails to satisfy all information sharing requirements for proper betting therefore all entry into the united states by north korea nationals is suspended of course this ban is largely symbolic north koreans are not typically allowed to travel outside the country and according to reports the u.s. issued just one hundred visas to north koreans last. half of which were for diplomats
5:08 pm
the next country's government has also been at odds with the trumpet ministration according to the latest order from the white house venezuela's government is uncooperative in verifying whether its citizens pose national security or public safety threats trump says it also fails to adequately share terrorism related information but because there are alternative sources to verify citizenship and the identity of venezuela nationals the visa restrictions the us has imposed focus on government officials of venezuela who trump says are responsible for these security inadequacies he's talking about so that prevents officials and immediate family members from getting business and tourist visas now the third edition is chad an african country just south of libya which is also on the list trump says chad is an important and valuable counterterrorism partner of the united states but that it does not adequately share public safety and terrorism related information there for entry into the united states of nationals of chad on business and tourist visas is here by suspended until that can be resolved last we have sudan which was dropped
5:09 pm
from the list of extreme vetting this time around without any explicit reason why now the thought is that the country has met the security standards and its latest review on the new rules which will take effect october eighteenth tweeted that making america safe is my number one priority we will not admit those into our country we cannot safely. the highest court in the lake and was said to control those arguments after this new proclamation is asking both sides to write short legal briefs addressing whether this new presidential order renders the old cases moot in washington see modellers are you r t m to discuss more about the recent developments in the president's travels and let's bring in steve malzberg political commentator and radio t.v. host so as the former travel ban is set to expire the president has rolled out
5:10 pm
a new one this time having a total of eight countries and so now just last week after a terrorist attack in london the president tweeted the travel ban into the united states should be far larger tougher and more specific but stupidly that would not be politically correct now while we know his base applaud him for not being politically correct what are your thoughts with north korea and venezuela have been added to the list when those countries are the first that come to mind when we maybe think about terrorism do you think it's more about them not complying when asked for travel information or the fact that we don't have very good relations with either country at the moment well i put confidence in the department of homeland security and the state department who this time around vetted over two hundred countries in compiling this list you know the first time one of the criticisms from the court was it seemed arbitrary and they were all muslim countries well now they've worked on this they've started two hundred countries they have a very specific reason for each one of the nations on the list and while you may be
5:11 pm
right in there may be you know maybe some of us laymen might say well what about this country or that country but putting north korea and venezuela and i'm not saying it was political because the reasons are spelled out but one of the things that it does is that all of a sudden it's not just a list of most majority muslim countries you have north korea which is basically you know atheist country are buddhists and they're certainly not a muslim country and venezuela is eighty percent eighty five percent christian so it puts a hole in the. the argument of the detractors of the court in fact and now there's been a lot of controversy in the iraqi community as many iraqi christians voted for the president yet they were being subject to the ban but now this new travel ban isn't holding them to the same restrictions but the bill says that they will still be quote subject to additional scrutiny so what do you think changed here. well i again i think it's the research every country involved every country that's
5:12 pm
suffering repercussions here there's an explanation that goes with that even for chad as was alluded to in the report who has been very cooperative on the in the war on terror but basically speaking it's just that they don't know enough basically to satisfy us that they could tell us who's getting on those planes and that's that's that goes for every country if you can't tell us who's getting on the planes and convince us that you know enough and you have a system in place to to prevent the bad guys from coming here you're going to find yourself on that list now you're right there's different restrictions in place now that it's softened a bit and absolutely when the president talked about in the past allowing christians in and what about iraqi christians what about christians from other countries then he was accused of favoring christians so he can't win on that note so i think i think this is a permanent ban it's not temporary it's been done with great thought and care and
5:13 pm
study and vetting of each country there's an explanation for each one i think the courts are going to have a tough time acquiescing to the radical left in this country who is going to want to see it overturned immediately and steve you know you alluded to this that many have called the president's travel ban a muslim ban but i mean now he traveled throughout the middle east very early on in his presidency to show that he supports allies whether they're muslim or not do you think people still see this as a so-called muslim banner oh yeah the a.c.l.u. and other groups and i don't i don't know it was the a.c.l.u. press release i read but they're saying this is still a muslim band it's just the skies by throwing north korea in venezuela it's to muddy the waters which is absolutely ridiculous now of course the courts we have many states attorneys generals that are also speaking out against this along with the a.c.l.u. it's only a matter of time before they claim it's a must. claim it's unconstitutional and send it right back to the court so this is
5:14 pm
not over yet unfortunately and you know you mentioned about chan chad being on the list when they have in fact cooperated in the fight against boko herat so even somebody like that do you think this travel ban is going to make people feel safer when they are getting on the plane or just arriving at the airport. i think yes because of all the work that went into it and you take a country like chad which on the surface as the president alluded to in his statement which was read in the previous report here they've cooperated with terror against boko haram they've staged military exercises with they've been conjunction with u.s. allies against terror so they're there they're doing their job they're just not sophisticated enough according to the state department or the d h s and their guidelines and their requirements to to not be on the list and let me let me give you one warning also as far as if we look ahead to court challenges here you're probably going to have a lot of the same judges who ruled against the travel ban number one and number two
5:15 pm
in various parts looking at this one as well and don't forget they went to trump's campaign speeches they went to what he said what he was thinking so i don't put it past these same judges and courts to once again throw a monkey wrench into this whole scenario interesting and we really appreciate your perspective steve malzberg political commentator and radio t.v. host thanks so much thank you. and coming up on our team puerto rico has governor asked for aid and help after hurricane real last island flooded and without power we'll talk about recovery efforts right after this break stay with us. on all the world's a stage and all the news companies merely players but what kind of parties aren t. american plate ninety america more american personnel.
5:16 pm
many ways a news landscape just like you do you really need the city actors bad actors and you could never have your own. so much part. of the state of the world. the world sustained. we are definitely a player. people have got to know whether or not fair present or support american people deserve to know what real difference at this point does it may must guard against the military industrial war we shall never want to go. or should know of it. yet we do what we. think.
5:17 pm
i'm tom hartman and i'll give you what the mainstream media can't help big picture . and when question more find what you're looking for. we'll go deeper investigate and debate all so you can get the big picture. well it was only five days ago that hurricane maria made landfall completely destroying the island of puerto rico hitting as a category four storm with winds of up to one hundred fifty five miles per hour the
5:18 pm
island is completely without power which could linger on for months federal aid began making its way into puerto rico saturday the island's main port opened up enabling eleven ships to bring in one point six million gallons of water twenty three thousand cots dozens of generators and food well dozens of more shipments are expected in the coming days many are wondering why more isn't being done faster to bring relief to those left completely devastated for more let's bring in camillo marcos member of the puerto rican nationalist party in new york thanks so much for joining us now camilo you're puerto rican a second generation actually born here in the u.s. and we're all so glad first off to hear that your family is ok over there despite the current conditions but you're now working with a few organizations in new york to said help over there what are you doing and who are you working with. so helping. working with michael to sense the
5:19 pm
bronx. a community organization close organization and then have a box in. the relief effort started with some people from there and some people from the bottom from the sun and conservation and we came together because we thought that we knew that water was good the need help that was actually started for hurricane irma and since hurricane maria you know the. it has intensified and. and it's just become a big network of a lot of organizations reaching out to us and in the my. face is this enormous station. and they are gathering because some are holding it and some of bringing my or ship them there is a real community collaborative grassroots effort that we have that's i see that
5:20 pm
you're all working together and that way and now we know that major league baseball is donating one million dollars to puerto rico jennifer lopez announced that she's also donating one million dollars as well for the relief efforts in puerto rico in your eyes still is and not being done do you think more people are interested in politics at this point or are the well being of people last somewhat stranded in puerto rico. i don't think enough is being done this communities that are devastated isolated and they haven't been reached out so. they say this team is out there. and word that. some of the nation that is being. gathered from especially a big leads as you mentioned are going to visit women i'm not sure how efficient they are. at distributing that actually i don't believe that will be
5:21 pm
a question at all. but we what we want to do is get our a sending that to slaughter legal and we want to get into the hands of people that have been active in the community. and we're. not government agencies or corporate went to see an interesting point that it might take a little while if they're just going to the government giving that money versus just actually put it in the hands of the people and so a federal board overseeing the territories finances they authorized up to one billion dollars in local funds for the hurricane response however the governor said that of course the asking for more and practically doesn't want to collect any taxes next month so what are your thoughts on the governor's response here. the fact that he has acted control board for more is. supposedly the governor of puerto rico then you have the case. that is needed. this so
5:22 pm
also the question of. what get have is or to rebuild going to. i have to pay that is this is going to be accumulated into what they consider to be that which is actually the u.s. that they're imposing on for a week and. i don't. i'm not. pressure and some of my colleagues they've i've been in touch with they've mentioned that the people there with money have armed bodyguards and generators and are in the same situation as those in the shelters i don't all have running water or a flushing toilet for that matter do you think the looting and crime will increase if more assistance isn't brought forth so when when the government has announced that they bungled open up or what he said was always going to let the wal-mart
5:23 pm
hospital. kmart and all of those bring in first which is just saying ok we're going to have the market open again so that people by bus. which is it should be a back in first. and there isn't a bank so the only people with cash that they can buy stuff that shelters me at the shelters have been complaining that this is running out of food and they need food . you know immediately they need water immediately they need center city products immediately and that should be a ferrari certainly and they're reportedly some three hundred families in harm's way due to the significant damage of the dam in northwest puerto rico and hospitals around capacity do you think more resources will make it in time. we were pushing pushing we were working on what we were capable i don't have too
5:24 pm
much confidence in what the government is capable of they need to suspend the colonial laws that have a posh law the maritime law. by defining it's a law that says only the u.s. ships can dock in puerto rico they have to suspend that and they really have to get rid of that because they can't come from other countries now they have. just announced these restrictions venice what they've been it's what it has been the one giving aid. hurricane relief to the other through the you know i know they came for them equal and we can send now or you can send people over there to get medical send if we can send people since june but to get medical attention when i was was at the other hurricane they sent the people up there sending some people to refill and some people who. but right now we are affected by
5:25 pm
a hurricane we can't send people to get medical attention if you will can't sense that there's to us. the capital and the other colonial restrictions have to happen but. they're pretty we're running for on time but just quickly i want to ask you even before maria devastated the island puerto rico has been in some financial trouble as you alluded to for a while seventy three billion dollar debt left the agencies like the state power company next to broken as a result of that basic maintenance it was almost an away with leaving the island subject to regular blackouts but now that power is basically absent unless one has a generator up and running of course how long do you think it'll be and tell some normalcy is were stored there that it's really hard to gauge. i honestly wouldn't know how to answer that that far how long it would say. something that they should be working floors immediately because it's concerning to
5:26 pm
me the big sitting managing fight this place is flooded which second lead to mold and of this is the this we have to take this very seriously add on things the us mainstream means is taking susie. and then acting they're talking about people kneeling. what trumps all of them are so there's a about calling somebody a. b. can i say the word on. whether puerto rico the supposed territory. is going to manage their embraces so they should. be more focused and especially at the u.n. that we had a process to say last to the right one the hurricane was getting puerto rico about the united nations taking up the issue of puerto rico because they had the general assembly and this thirty six resolution from the conversation committee and the
5:27 pm
united nations hasn't picked it up are they even sell them out puerto rico in the united nations that's a great question and we unfortunately out of time will have to live there thank you so much as camille a lot that was a member of the party with a nationalist party in new york thanks so much. over the weekend in mexico a six point two magnitude aftershock rocked the country killing five people officials now estimate at least three hundred twenty four died from last week's seven point one magnitude earthquake civil defense chief louis philippe point they said in a tweet one hundred eighty six of the deaths were in mexico city alone officials added only one hundred three of mexico city's nine thousand schools had been cleared to reopen today with ninety eight percent of the capital's public and private schools still waiting to be inspected earlier this month on september seventh at least ninety six people died after a magnitude eight point two earthquake struck off the coast of southern mexico and in tennessee the nashville shooting that left one woman dead and seven others
5:28 pm
wounded is now the subject of a federal civil rights investigation by the f.b.i. and the department of justice well this all comes after twenty five year old emmanuel sampson stormed nashville's burnett chapel church sunday he immediately confronted and shot dead a woman in the parking lot he then entered the main sanctuary door which would have been if you will the real of the sanctuary the pews are facing forward so he would have entered the rear of the sanctuary or the main sanctuary door. after doing so he indiscriminately shooting a twenty two year old named robert engle is being held as a hero for tackling the man and holding him at gunpoint until police arrived this church i'm sure an extraordinarily brave individual he was still here at the scene when i got here and. what appeared to be
5:29 pm
a significant injury to his head. well sampson is slated to appear in court this wednesday and has been charged with one count of murder in the first degree. and the los angeles police department is facing another lawsuit over allegations of excessive use of force over the summer a young man was fatally shot by l.a.p.d. officers and then run over by their vehicle his parents are now seeking justice calling on the district attorney to file criminal charges against the officers artie's because santos has the story from los angeles back in june l.a.p.d. officers shot twenty year old eric rivera while responding to reports of an armed man in the neighborhood of wilmington now according to an l.a.p.d. press release quote when the officers arrived at the observed a lone hispanic male in his mid twenty's believing this may be the suspect they directed their attention toward him and there was an officer involved shooting the officers have been identified as archer zero rukia and daniel ramirez rivera's family attorney told reporters that the officers were in such
5:30 pm
a hurry they failed to put the patrol vehicle in park when it rolled forward rivera reportedly tried to jump out of the way and the officers opened fire wounding him in the head chest and legs the final blow was then delivered by the runaway car which rolled over rivera pinning him to an apartment building the incident is still being investigated however a toy gun was recovered from the scene based on the available video surveillance family's attorney says it was a green plastic squirt gun various parents have now filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the officers l.a.p.d. and city of los angeles over excessive use of force they say they are willing to drop the case if the officers involved are prosecuted in los angeles busy to save those already sixty years ago today the world watched as the president ordered the army to escort nine african-american students into the formerly segregated little rock central high school in little rock arkansas but then the governor blocked the
5:31 pm
nine students from entering the. school despite the nine hundred fifty four brown versus board of education supreme court case the clarinet unconstitutional for public schools to be segregated this historic moment helped pave the way for other african-americans to attend schools and universities that were once segregated tune in on friday for our to america's ashley banks special coverage from little rock. and coming up on our t.v. chancellor angela merkel wins a fourth term and this weekend's eternal auction but another for thirty two seats in parliament that it's held in just a moment. there's a real irony going. to be told to lay a finger on a responsible way to make a point there is always well that's what it's always been at c.n.n. for all the things you see here little ordinary you know wholesale surveillance you feel you have already while as you mentioned two sides in less than trump has used the social media site while are always on the story because it's garbage in real
5:32 pm
change. so. what politicians do you should. put themselves on the line to get accepted or rejected. so when you want to be trusted i'm sure. more some wanted. to go right to the person that's like that before you the more people are. interested always at the water's edge. and there should. i think the average viewer just after watching a couple of segments understands that we're telling stories in our critics can't
5:33 pm
tell you know why because their advertisers won't let them. in order to create change you have to be honest you have to tell the truth parties able to do that every story is built on going after the back story to what's really happening out there to the american what's happening when a corporation makes a pharmaceutical victuals people when a company in the environmental group. polluting a river that causes cancer and other illnesses they put all that involves risk all the dangers out to the american public those are stories that we tell every week and you know what they're working. down to germany we're angle of merkel has won a fourth term as chancellor but despite the whip merkel's christian democratic party had its worst results since one thousand nine hundred nine when
5:34 pm
a total of two hundred forty six seats almost seventy fewer than it previously held the social democrats meanwhile one hundred fifty three seats ninety four will be taken by the newly elected alternative for germany party this is the first time it's entered the national parliaments merkel now needs to team up with other parties to create a viable government in the bundestag one possible option would be the so-called jamaica coalition that would mean an alliance with the pro-business free democratic party and the green party artie's peter oliver reports on this shift in politics and what it means for germany. it's been clear that germany wants angle of merkel as chancellor however it is a bit of both really when you put it like that there are certainly been people who change their vote to previously would have voted for angle of merkel we've changed there's also those that would have wanted more from her party to challenge those decisions made by the chancellor who have changed as well and that they've they've
5:35 pm
lost around a million votes many of those going to be the alternative to do any policy which she when she was asked a bold blows about the future because she's going to be chancellor we still don't know what kind of government she is going to be chancellor at the moment though when she was asked about alternative for germany she was asked would they have any influence in making the migration policy she had this to say very very to the point . no i don't believe that i believe that the party should come and go into a coalition find solutions search for them there are some differences of opinion between the union and the greens the c.d.c. is you and the f.t.p. and in part also the s.p.d. and of course we will find that then and the coalition agreements depending on how the end that will be reflected in there will not have an impact on the stock coalitions because it's
5:36 pm
a reality in politics isn't it do you have to be friends with people you don't like don't even agree with in fact you get completely would like to strangle them at times politically but it's a necessity well when you talk about that you almost simplify something that's so complicated this time around because it's not just anglo merkel doing a deal with one of the party she may well end up having to do a deal with essentially three parties the christian democratic union that angle america represents has its sister party the christian social union so they're already in a coalition of salt and there are differences between the two of them but they're talking about going into what's called a coalition it's the only option it's all the table at the moment if i'm. a majority government now that you make a coalition is called so because of the particles that are involved in it it makes it because of that you're making plans. but it includes the free democrats and the greens now to disagree on many issues so they may well say yes we're all fighting to get into power into joy and then with they said we'll
5:37 pm
take our seats in the bundesliga we'll be on the government when it comes to major issues particular trait the greens on going to get on side with trade major trade deals that angela merkel wants to put in place when it comes to greece the free democrats aren't going to agree to any kind of of the bailout so that is where the financing the. the real nitty gritty of talks is going on at the moment to try and find a solution to that now we heard from christie and linda just a few moments ago who is the leader all the free democrats no he hasn't ruled out that his party may be the opposition vote he has said that these two make a coalition talks. so the talks are under way i would expect it's going to be more a case of weeks as opposed to days that we're going to see before this and it may even run into months yes the necessity isn't it to sort of kind of get on with people you don't necessarily like for a lot of people understand if they just think about perhaps christmas with the but
5:38 pm
but some on that nobody wants to do business with the political level it seems party wise is alternative for germany party what is it about them it's made them almost a political pariah all the way to parties and to the merkel said she would not go into coalition with one with the left party the other one was alternative to germany now they've had big news as well on monday just hours after they entered the for the first time great results for them around thirteen percent chairperson. announced that she wouldn't be taking a seat in the bundestag. for want to create real policy and that's a long consideration i've decided not to be in. of the parliamentary group in the going to start i would like to ask you for your understanding i will not answer any questions on this germans across the political spectrum are reacting strongly to the results of the country's elections artie's and hawkins has more on the ground from dressed in germany. it was only yesterday our team of correspondents were in
5:39 pm
berlin at the a.f.d. headquarters where there was a protest taking place but the ante far outside that building today we've gone about to an off hours south to dresden if you look to my left you can see a protest by the piggy organization the patriotic europeans against islamisation of the west and now at their height these marches became a regular occurrence are enjoying every monday at the high the track think thousands of marches through the center of the city as you can hear and see today those numbers have very much too and will now say there is between five and eight hundred people here today listening to speeches listening to music and rallying what has changed though tomorrow right just beyond this line of police officers is an anti far rally all say between one and two hundred protesters have turned out to express their disagreement and discussed with what they view as right we're even far right movements here in germany now the numbers as i say have dwindled since
5:40 pm
the peak about a year in office there but of course vote numbers for the f.t. have very much increased in the east germany's germany the a.f.d. have all the second largest party in fact in saxony in dress than where we are now right in the center of the city they are all halmos with the c.d.u. they've taken a lot of votes of the mainstream parties gathering millions more votes is in fact among many young voters they are the biggest party here in saxony as well there's no trouble for now as you can see it's mainly speeches and music and of course the counter protests taking place just here tomorrow right as well the police have it well under control but it is symbolic really of the division less on the lawn right now the german political landscape i don't think anybody quite expected how much how many seats the a.f.d. would gain of course a of the in brigade of the two separate organizations but from people we've spoken to here. today it's very obvious where these people's political allegiances loyd
5:41 pm
they have expressed hostility towards merkel towards european policies but people here are very much euro skeptic and very much against open door refugee policy so all quiet for now here in dresden but as you can see the numbers have risen over the last hour or so with the protesters here. left wing maybe some anarchists present as well judging by the black and red flags on the hoods facing off against the piggy to protesters on the left here who just chanting. yes it was just sean saying. to get these protesters to move away if there's any developments of course we'll get back to you and keep you updated as to what's going on. i mean human rights watch report has accused the u.s. led coalition after killing at least eighty four civilians near the syrian city of raka including thirty children in march. of reports from syria.
5:42 pm
in the unlikelihood more than eighty four people civilians were killed in two u.s. says strikes even any of the syrian city of braca and c.t. pool people well that's just the bodies who lived up to my identity and strikes allegedly targeted a school my kids and the bakery putting to human rights watch which carried out an investigation and published a forty two page report previously the us led coalition had said that for doing that internal review they found the claims of alleged civilian casualties back to praed ability well human rights watch visited these locations they spoke to the people when they looked at the evidence and they found that the u.s. led coalition give a visit to these locations they never spoke to the people they never looked at the evidence coalition forces have said that there is insufficient evidence to conclude that civilians were killed in the attack on the school but as far as we know they

did not visit the school they did not talk to any witnesses if they had they would have found plenty of evidence that civilians were killed in young this case the question they're asking is whether the u.s. led coalition somehow missed the dozens and dozens of civilians present in the snow conditions or whether they chose to ignore them whether they didn't care about them but he also said that they were i just like his had these locations but so would dozens and dozens of other c.b.d. . seventeen fighters for the self-proclaimed islamic states were killed on friday in the first set of airstrikes carried out by the u.s. in libya since president on trump took office now according to an announcement made by u.s. african command on sunday six quote precision air strikes reportedly targeted at militants in a camp fifty miles southeast of spirits three vehicles were also destroyed in the attack the u.s. military says the strikes were carried out in conjunct. in with libya's government

a robust energy sector and strong military forces its citizens holding an independence referendum knowing we have been asked to delay the referendum many times we are still under pressure. as for the referendum that is not in my hands or in the hands of the political parties anymore it is in your hands. for many years has been an ongoing diplomatic tug of war between baghdad and the kurds which accuse the iraqi government of aggression and mistreatment the region first told a referendum in two thousand and fourteen amid political turmoil. and propelled the country even further into chaos. because the key to repairing the terrorists' night mode of government sometimes chose to step back kurdish peshmerga just soldiers who were liberating village after village reclaiming one stretch of territory after

a number. i know. it's all about seizing control of new lands in iraq that's what's helped the movement gain impetus and emboldened it to call for independence vote do the kurds have any supporters in the political fights well really iraq obviously opposes the vote and its closest neighbors iran and turkey has spoken out strongly against it as well an important issue about kurdistan is the atmosphere they want to destroy and create another israel in the region we should stand up against them. right now because. it's taken steps towards the division of iraq as have the u.s. and france the united states strongly opposes iraq or just in the regional governments referenda depend on splendiferous plenty see germany meanwhile suggest the referendum be perspire until the defeat of isis we can only warn against one sided steps on this issue the unity of iraq is on the line redrawing the lines of

the state is not the right way and could exacerbate an already difficult and unstable situation looks like the only foreign support here is israel while israel rejects terror in any form it supports the legitimate efforts of the kurdish people to attain a state the kurds are very likely to vote yes nearly ninety nine percent back in two thousand and five during an unofficial vote the buddhist change anything for them iraq says recognize the results turkey and iran are threatening sanctions in case of independence and even the kurdish leadership admits there might be. bored of problems in the near future and i definitely think that there will be another war and so. while the outcome of the vote is pretty clear the consequences might be unpredictable. coming up on our.

people are spreading fake news like crazy these days not even realizing it not just evil trolls with bad intentions but people who believe they're trying to do good even people like chelsea clinton according to the washington free beacon she recently tweeted absolutely appalling michigan house passed a bill allowing the m.t.'s to refuse treatment to gay people which sounds awful writes the tweet included a link from a story from new now next dot com a website for the l g b t new now next towards thank guess what that was some fake news the link itself was actually from two thousand and fourteen three years ago and what the michigan house had passed back then was another bill designed to allow
5:56 pm
him to use to refuse treatment to gay people it was a basic religious freedom restoration act or our authority which includes a clause that would allow the state to infringe on religious beliefs when there's a compelling government interest like say when a human life is at stake that in two thousand and fourteen when you now next wrote their very polarized piece that chelsea late to c.b.s. ran a story about the whole thing saying that it means that a christian doctor would not have to treat a gay person and because of that c.b.s. story then new now next decided to turn the bill into a gay rights thing even though at the same time a lot of legal professionals that c.b.s. was just flat out wrong and that such an interpretation would never hold up in a court of law so chelsea tweeted a link to some fake old news but the real news is the best part of the story the real there is that many states have had this fail law on their books for over twenty years and it has never been used like chelsea's that it would. but the best
5:57 pm
part is that the law also exists on the federal level under the religious freedom restoration act of one thousand nine hundred three which means that the law was signed by chelsea's own father president bill clinton so chelsea was essentially bashing a law that her own father had implemented on the federal level he can't make his. thing is i don't think he was trying to be evil she just saw the headline mts can let gay people die and shared it because she thought it sounded awful because that does sound awful but once people started pointing out her mistake to where she deleted the tweet and it just goes to show you we are all susceptible to the urge to share fake news these days so we should all think for a few moments before jumping on the outrage wagon no matter how smart you think the source is no matter how smart or good you think you are no matter in fact if you're even in clinton.
